Despair is in the air…time to review the new angry ghost book. Although not thrilled with what we got, we still try to stay positive and look for solutions…which will be a challenge for sure. That being said, Brendan talks about a unit that he feels is a huge mistake…listen to find out which one! Anchors away…it’s boat people time! While Brendan if off doing stuff that needs doing, Dave and I take you on a journey through the clouds with everyone’s favorite flying Duardin. Neither of us was excited to review this book, but the more we dived in, the more we enjoyed it. By the end of the review, we agreed that this is a solid, if inconsistent, book. One of the Regiments of Renown was of interest to all three of us, and we’ll see how many times it appears in the wild. In Liber Nordtrumus, Dave walks us through the non-Space Marine factions in Heresy for those that might be interested in a few more options.

From army building to rolling dice, the game seems more dynamic, more fun and more interesting. As we talk through the latest drop of Scourge of Ghyran, it is good, bad and ugly this go around. Rotigus is a clear favorite of the guys, and some other gems in this new content are worthy of a look. For us, it is again new options that hopefully will motivate folks to try some creative list building and refresh what we’re seeing on the table. Please note that my Sylvaneth dropped the day after we recorded, and I am quite happy with it…we will discuss briefly in Episode 169. The Lumineth are back for another go...and this book seems much more of a positive experience for both Lumineth players and their opponents. Subfactions in this tome allow Aelf players to take the same army and play several different ways. That being said, Lumienth will still be a challenging opponent when they show up at the table. A great Battletome and we enjoyed walking though it. Be sure to listen to our hobby segment in Whispers From The Warp, when Brendan announces his Dragonfall army, surprising many of us!

Here we go with another Broken Realms tome...this one is a true winner...especially in my book! We start with a look at Belakor and his Legion, followed by a great time with a treasure trove of new Nighthaunt tools. I am really looking forward to giving some of this stuff a go on the table. We then move into the other factions that received some goodies in the book. Our coverage of Warhammer Fest starts on Tuesday, since we wanted to save the best for last...Monday was Kragnos and Soulblight! We took a guess at Saturday while we were recording (we recorded Saturday from 10am until about 1pm), and Brendan called it with the first look at Sigmar 3.0. I came in a close second (and a day early) with my prediction of Soulblight preorders...at least I got the date right (May 15)!

Another Battletome to review, and this one is bigger than the last! We pull no punches on this one...truly the good, the bad, and the ugly. It is still an interesting book, and we find plenty to enjoy, with a few questionable entries in between. But don't take my word for it. Dive in and find out what we have to say! We put a Age of Sigmar twist on things, and do so by selecting specific concepts from the book (we don't want to get too far into the weeds!). We intro each by giving some real world context to the idea, then we translate the concept to the tabletop. It's amazing how much we use Sun Tzu's basic ideas when we play with our war dollies! So she's finally done it...maybe now she'll stop being such a child...probably not. Our girl Morathi has attained Godhood, and she has brought several others along for the ride. Daughters and Idoneth, to name a couple, have received new Battletome goodies and we are excited to share them with you. We also take a quick look at and highlight some of the more interesting aspects of the new Space Wolves Codex Supplement for 40K. Stompy, smashy, grabby Giants are here with a massive array of warscrolls...not! The Sons of Behemat present us with a very unique battletome, and we talk about not only all four of the warscrolls, but the heart of this book, which is the Tribes. At first glance there don't seem to be a whole lot of options here, but after a more careful look, this book presents several options for creating fun, and perhaps, even competitive lists. We also have a discussion of the Broken Realms, driven by the new preview that was released. The future is out there somewhere...what mysteries does it hold? Brendan and crazy man Jacob Berry have taken the time to crunch the numbers and unravel ancient tomes to give a look at the tournament that might have been.
