Nursing or breastfeeding can be compared to riding a roller coaster for the very first time, with its unexpected ups and downs. However, it's always better when a strong support system is there to help and support us navigate the close turns and celebrate the good times. As we journey through the nursing experience, is also important to keep in mind that as mother's we want what is best for our children and that includes choices. PasoTaos.org

Part 2/2
Nikki from Twirl shares insights from her many years of supporting the Taos Community and Paso A Paso.
PASO A PASO - https://www.pasotaos.org/
TWIRL https://www.twirltaos.org/
Twirl is a play and discovery space located in Taos, New Mexico.
Our mission is to support the growth and potential of children in Taos through inspirational, community-wide opportunities to gather, learn, create and play.
Our vision is a community that recognizes, celebrates and cultivates its greatest asset, its children.
Our play space, which is usually a community hub, abuzz with kids and families 360 days a year, is currently closed while we carry out building maintenance and improvements. Turns out, it was the perfect time to proceed with this much-needed work.
At the same time, Twirl has found new ways to stay connected with our families and children. We have not strayed from our mission or vision, but have adapted our programs to meet the changing needs of our community. Our store has a temporary location at Twirl Too. Our regular classes have moved online, we have a Youtube series of At Home projects, we host a weekly At Home with Twirl and Friends column in the Taos News, a monthly STEAM radio show on KNCE, and through our outreach efforts, we distribute physical resources to families for play and learning at home. We also have our community creativity project for the Fall/Winter - The Mask Gathering.
When we are not in a pandemic, Twirl provides opportunities for play and learning at our signature play space facility and our workshop space Twirl Too, as well as through community collaborations and events, in-school and after-school programs, and partnerships with community organizations.
We look forward to welcoming you back to our physical home in our beautiful, historic Twirl building. Until then, we love you all and wish you health and happiness in these challenging times!
In 2014, we received national recognition when CNN named Twirl one of the top fifteen best spots for kids in the US.

To this end, TLK provides a variety of parenting classes as well as support groups and community events designed to reduce isolation, facilitate understandings of child development, and build parent resiliency in order to decrease occurrences of child abuse and neglect.
Taos Loves Kids offers seven different types of parenting classes: Circle of Security, Love and Logic, ESL for Parents, Infant Massage, Parenting with Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Birth Art, and Nutrition. TLK also provides free childcare if needed for parents to attend the classes.
Last Fall, TLK offered a unique cooking class–Crockpot Cooking–as a way respond to specific concerns from parents who struggle to prepare dinner while also meeting the needs of their families.
