A podcast on the conflicting pulls of two cultural backgrounds that immigrants and second generations face in society, especially in relations between Asian parents and Asian American children. Through references from the Joy Luck Club and testimonies from second-generation Chinese immigrants, Jessica and Jenny, listeners will gain knowledge on the explicit struggles faced by immigrants concerning the feeling of not fitting in. Through these struggles, it's evident that there is a need for close relationships to understand the honor of being able to identify with two different cultural groups.
