Toby is one of many volunteers who put hours of service to the club and their volunteers are certainly a major key to the crows success in recent years. Former test cricketer and National Captain Steve Waugh was in Queenstown, taking photos of the Queenstown Oval yesterday. The photos are going to be included in a book Steve is currently working on about Unique Australian cricket grounds, ones that tell a story and epitomizes the spirit of cricket in Australia. A friendly T20 cricket match between a Queenstown side and a Ridgley side was held while Steve was here and Skirvo had the privilege of speaking to Steve yesterday afternoon and it went to air on the breakfast show this morning. After many years service to 7xs and many of the radio stations across Tasmania, our Regional Manager Tim Holder is retiring to go in a different direction with his life. Tim joined Skirvo in the studio this morning to highlight his passion for 7xs and and his love for the west coast. Everyone at 7xs past and present thanks Tim his many years of service and wish him all the very best in his new ventures. We will miss him heaps. In return for Tim's belief and support to him, Skirvo wanted to play Tim's favourite song. The song is a newish song from former Bass player with Dire straits John Illsley. It's titled  A long way back and we are looking for your feedback to the song so we have completed it here in the interview to listen to if you didn't catch it this morning. Today on XS Sport, Skirvo caught up with Sam Mawer, coach of the Rosebery Toorak Football club. At the beginning of the year, the hawks began a huge recruitment compaign with the aim to a more competitive outfit and to have two separate seniors and reserves teams in order for players not to double up. I think they would have exceeded their own expectations by ending up with 4 wins in the seniors for the season, a sensational effort, Skirvo and Sam talked about the season and the positive down at the club.

Australia’s best tasting tap water will be decided when the Water Industry Operators Association of Australia (WIOA) hosts the Ixom 2021 Best Tasting Tap Water in Australia competition today, putting interstate rivalry to the ultimate test. Water authorities from various regional and metropolitan areas around Australia have participated in state competitions and now the state winners will go head to head for the national title and the chance to represent Australia at the annual Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting Competition held in West Virginia, USA. The competition will be held in Hobart at Risdon Brook Dam, Risdon Brook Park, Grasstree Hill Road, Risdon Vale and will be live streamed at the TasWater Facebook page from 2pm, with the judging taking place at 2.15pm and the winner announced online at around 2.30pm.
