There’s a powerful dynamic playing out in so many homes that quietly shapes how we show up as moms, partners, and women. It’s a pattern of falling into emotional roles—like the villain, the victim, or the hero—especially in parenting, marriage, and family relationships.

Maybe you’re always rescuing your kids from discomfort. Or maybe you’re carrying the invisible weight of your whole family and feeling quietly resentful.

In this episode, I’m diving into the psychology behind these emotional roles, how they show up in motherhood, and why high-achieving women often get stuck in this cycle. You’ll learn how these patterns create disconnection and parenting triggers—and how to step out of them to become the calm, empowered leader your family actually needs.

If you’ve ever struggled with mom guilt, resentment, or trying to “fix” everything—this episode will shift everything.

Have you ever stayed up all night worrying about your kids?

Checked their location nonstop? Sent one too many “just checking” texts?

You’re not alone — and this episode is for you.

I’m sharing a real story from one of my private coaching clients whose 17-year-old son told her, “I wish you weren’t such an anxious mom.”

I unpack what’s really happening when mom anxiety shows up, especially around teenage independence, driving, and emotional distance.

You’ll learn:

  • What triggers anxious parenting and why your brain spins into worst-case scenarios
  • How anxiety manifests in your body and actions (like constant checking, controlling, or lecturing)
  • Why identifying as “an anxious mom” is keeping you stuck — and how to shift it
  • Simple, real-time tools to name, feel, and stop acting from anxiety
  • How to respond to your kids with calm instead of fear — even when anxiety is present

Whether you're parenting teens, toddlers, or somewhere in between, this episode will help you stop letting anxiety drive your decisions and start showing up as the grounded, confident mom your kids need.

You are not your anxiety — and it’s possible to create peace in your parenting, one moment at a time.

Even when your life looks full and beautiful on the outside—marriage, kids, a career, a home you care about—it can still feel overwhelming on the inside. You go to bed with your mind racing and wake up already behind. You’ve checked the boxes, but something still feels off.

In this episode, I answer five real questions from high-achieving moms who are navigating what it means to feel stretched thin—even when they love their life.

You'll learn:

  • How to reconnect in a marriage that feels more like roommates
  • How to stay calm during toddler tantrums without yelling or shutting down
  • Why you still feel rushed, even with good systems—and how to fix it
  • What to do when you're pulled in every direction (kids, career, aging parents, all of it)
  • How to stop parenting your adult children and start building a real adult-to-adult relationship

These are the tools I teach as a certified life coach for moms—and they apply whether you’re parenting toddlers or navigating the empty nest years. Because the transformation starts with your mind, not your circumstances.

If you want more peace, purpose, and connection in your life—without needing to do more—this episode is for you.

I’ll also share personal examples of how I apply mindset in my own life as a mom of three, and how shifting your mindset can transform the way you show up in motherhood and beyond.

Most of us grew up thinking that discipline means punishment. You do something wrong, you get punished—it’s just what parents do, right? But what if I told you that punishment doesn’t actually teach the lessons we want our kids to learn?

In today’s episode, I’m walking you through a real-life example from a mom who faced this exact dilemma. After getting a call from school about her son breaking something on the bus, her first instinct was to take away his iPad. But then she paused and asked herself… Does this even make sense?

We’re unpacking why punishment creates fear instead of learning, the real reason behind problem behaviors (hint: it’s all about emotional regulation skills), and what to do instead to actually help your child grow. If you’ve ever questioned whether time-outs, taking things away, or other punishments really work, this episode is for you.

Overthinking can feel like a never-ending loop, draining your energy and stealing the joy from motherhood.

But here’s the truth: your brain isn’t working against you—it’s wired for survival. The problem is, in modern motherhood, that survival wiring often shows up as worry, perfectionism, and self-doubt.

In today’s episode, I'm diving deep into why your brain overthinks, how negative thought patterns take hold, and the real symptoms that show up in your daily life—like decision fatigue, anxiety, and feeling stuck in ‘what if’ spirals.

Most importantly, I’m going to teach you how to talk back to your brain so that overthinking no longer runs the show. Because when you learn to quiet the mental noise, you create more peace, confidence, and joy—not just for yourself, but for your whole family. Let’s get into it!

Repair is the single-most important parenting tools you can have in your toolbelt as a mom. Why? Because you're a human mom, and that means you'll mess things up, get it all wrong, and then what? Accept your humanness and get really good at apologizing to restore the relationship. That's what this podcast is all about: how to repair. You'll learn the worst mistakes to avoid as well as what to say when you repair. This will make your relationships stronger with your kids and leave so much more space for enjoying motherhood, even the messy parts.

Having a growth mindset allows kids to overcome challenges, failures, and mistakes, while maintaining self-confidence and self-love. Additionally, a growth mindset helps kids set, pursue, and achieve their biggest dreams.

A growth mindset isn't something that's a given because of it's counterpart, the fixed mindset. A fixed mindset limits kids from believing in themselves by attributing their shortcomings or failures to "just the way they are." With a fixed mindset, kids stay stuck and limit themselves.

In this podcast, Natalie Bacon shares five key practical strategies that you can start using with your kids today to help them have a growth mindset.

It's hard to feel happy as a mom, and yet, there's often nothing we can point to that's the cause of our own unhappiness. On the outside, life seems to be going good enough. Yet, on the inside, we often don't feel as good as our lives look. Then we add on judgment for not being as happy as we think we should.

There's a real reason why it's so hard to feel happy and it has to do with the way your brain is wired. It's not your fault if it's hard to feel happy; it's quite normal and typical. But it doesn't have to stay that way if you don't want it to.

In this episode you'll learn why it's hard to feel happy in motherhood and five specific tips from positive psychology that can help you start feeling happier today. If you want to feel happier more often, then this podcast is for you.

Helping a struggling child is one of the biggest challenges that moms face. The pressure and desire to fix and solve a child's problem can be all consuming and worrysome, while at the same time lead to little results.

The reason that helping a struggling child is so hard isn't what you think—it's not because of what's happening with the child or what's happening in their life. The reason it's so hard is because of what's happening in your mindset.

With the right framework and tools you can learn how to help a struggling child so you can show up as the mom you want to be, knowing you're doing your best.

In this episode you'll learn specific steps to help a child in any area they're having a hard time, so that you can help from love, strength, confidence, and connection, instead of from worry or fear.

There is so much within your control that you can focus on to help you navigate challenges and live your best life. Examples include what other people think, how other people act, what's happening in your neighborhood, and more. While you can influence these things, you can't control them.

So, the question becomes, how can you focus back on what you can control so you can show up as your best self in your life? That is what you'll learn in this podcast episode, with real life examples to help you see how to apply this tool to your own life.

When life throws a curve ball and there's a new challenge you're presented with, how do you handle it? If you're like me and most of my clients, the tendency is to look for someone to blame—blame towards someone else, blame towards the world, or blame towards yourself.

While, yes, it's true that people need to be held accountable for their actions, we often take this too far, looking for someone to take responsibility for our feelings. We blame other people and the world for how we feel. When we can separate out other people's actions from our feelings, we become empowered.

Sometimes, there's isn't someone to blame at all. It's just the way things go. Getting to a place of acceptance can be very powerful for working through challenges with in-laws, in marriage, and more.

In this episode, you'll learn the down side of blame and what to do instead so that you can feel better and work through hard times.

Often, we can't choose our circumstances. Whether it's a health diagnosis, in-law dynamics, struggles our kids are experiencing, or something else, life often deals a hand that you wouldn't choose for yourself. Sometimes, life is just hard.

On default, the human brain wants to look externally to solve these challenges by changing other people or what's happening in the world. It goes into "fix it" mode. The problem with this is that it often leaves you feeling miserable and it doesn't work.

We can't control what other people say or do, much like we can't control the weather. We can, however, control who want we to be in any circumstance, even the hardest of them.

Training your brain to look inward at "who you want to be" in a challenging circumstances is the most useful way to navigate life's hardest times. In this episode, you'll learn the skills to do just that, so you can show up as the empowered woman you want to be.

Thinking about our own emotional dysregulation in the form of a tantrum is helpful because it connects us to our kids. We can see that it's not them doing something "to us" or "to be bad" but instead is simply an emotional reaction.

In this episode, I share my own experience with anger, frustration, and mom tantrums in a way that shows just help helpful bringing awareness to these tantrums can be both for ourselves and for our families.

As moms, we care so much about how we're doing and often wonder "am I a good mom?". We end up comparing ourselves to other moms, thinking we're not good enough, and even worse, looking to our kids happiness to define our value and worth. Instead of using standards that lead to more mom guilt, I share a new way of thinking about what it means to "be a good mom."

Instead of feeling like you're failing, not measuring up, always behind, and lacking in some way, you can use mindfulness tools to redefine your value as a mom in a way that feels empowering. Then, you can use this standard to check in and evaluate how you're doing over time.

In this episode, I teach a new framework for measuring "good mom" as well as share the specific way I use the framework in my own family.

You may say something wrong. You may do something wrong. But you, as a human, are not wrong. Your human-ness can never be wrong.

In this episode, I show you how to use courage to do what's right, but not beat yourself up about it.

Do you ever find yourself feeling frustrated, stressed, or annoyed?

The solution isn't to jump to some positive affirmation and switch your thoughts.

This is what I see most new students and clients doing—resisting the negative emotion, trying to feel better right away.

There's a really big mistake when you do it this way. You resist what is instead of accepting it. You cause the negative thoughts to reappear without ever resolving them.

It's like a GPS when you put in the destination you want to drive to. You don't just need the final address. You also need the starting point. Without it, you can't get clear directions.

The same is true in life. There's where you are now and where you want to go. You get the steps to move from where you are now to where you want to go by having both the end and starting points.

This means you have to look at all the not-so-fun-stuff like what your real beliefs are—even if (especially if) they're really negative.

If you're feeling stuck, unmotivated, or any other negative emotion that you've been hesitant to look at, I have a new tool to teach you in today's episode: Curiosity and Compassion.

It's through using curiosity and compassion you'll get the understanding and acceptance of where you are now so you can move to where you want to go with openness instead of resistance.

For the goal you want to achieve most, what is the main emotion driving you?

When you’re designing your dream life, it’s likely that you have a list of goals that you want to achieve. It’s great to be aware of your goals, but there may be a big disconnect standing in your way of achieving them.

If you’re not becoming the person who has the results you want before going after your goals, then you won’t achieve the results you’re looking for.

Taking action from where you are right now is a mistake. You must become the person you want to become, think and feel their emotions and then create action from that place.

The solution to becoming the person you want to be is by creating a “Being List.”

A “Being List” is your list of thoughts and feelings you need to have in order to be the person you want to achieve the goal you’re working on.

In this episode, you'll learn exactly how to create your own “Being List” to finally achieve the results you’ve been working towards.

When it comes to doing things for ourselves, we rarely push through when we’re met with discomfort. We make the discomfort mean stop, slow down, or quit, instead of using discipline and deliberate discomfort to get us to our goals.

When you go after a goal, like designing your dream life, it means you’re creating something new and different. Naturally, you’re going to be scared, there will be failure and rejection and discomfort.

It’s important to not make slowing down or having obstacles mean something and just let it be the discomfort that is inevitably going to happen when there is growth involved. Assign meaning to whatever you want, but do it to your advantage instead of your disadvantage.

This means you stop making obstacles, failures, and discomfort of pursuing your goals mean you’re out of alignment and something has gone wrong.

If you get really good at experiencing negative emotion, without being afraid of it, you won’t avoid, resist, or react to it.

You’ll learn to plan for deliberate discomfort and welcome growth with open arms.

The truth about endings is that they are always going to happen.

Just like the seasons changing, you’re going to go through seasons of your life that end.The key is to accept that they happen (and are supposed to happen) and to not make them mean something has gone wrong.

When it comes time to leave something behind in your life, only you are going to know when that is. There is no right time to leave.

The more you say no to things that no longer serve you, the better off you will be. You will become more resilient when you don’t depend on things that can change. By allowing yourself to be happy when leaving something, you get to do what you want to do, when you want to do it.

The practice of leaving something when you’re happy becomes easier over time.

By rewriting moments in your life that have caused you pain, you will be able to look back on them with gratitude that they brought you to where you are today. Everything that has happened in your life has unfolded just the way it was supposed to.

Life is happening for you and not to you. It’s time to stop rethinking old thought patterns so you can stop repeating your past. Get rid of past focused decision making and start to focus on the future. Rewrite the stories of your past from the abundance mentality and watch your past change.

If you've heard me teach massive action, you know it means taking enough action to get the result you want. It's a commitment to overcome obstacles and failures in the name of success.

But massive action has one fatal flaw: if used without massive thinking, you'll never get the result you want.

Massive thinking means thinking new and better thoughts that are aligned with creating the result you want.

At each thought plateau you reach, you'll have to use massive thinking to move from where you are to the next level.

Then, massive action flows naturally.

Do you want to know how to land your dream job?

How about make more money, too?

The secret is to become a person who overdelivers in value. When you overdeliver in value to your job (or business), you become a person of excellence. You attract money and opportunities. You move out of the time and effort economies and into the value economy.

I remember when I first learned this. Overnight, I changed.

I used to complain about my job. I used to look forward to 5pm and the weekends. I thought it was my job's job to make me happy.

I was wrong.

When I stopped thinking about time and effort and started focusing on how I could provide more value, everything changed for the better.

I started to love my work. I overdelivered at my job. I became someone who goes "all in" with whatever job I'm doing. I created opportunity in my mind first. Then, it became my reality.

In this episode, I show you how to land your dream job and make more money.

Have you ever thought any of these sentences...

  • I’m okay. There are some things wrong with me, but I’m alright.
  • I'm different.
  • There's something wrong with me.
  • I have a damaged past.
  • I accept the way I am, even if that means I'm not good enough.

These sentences seem harmless (or, even true).

But the truth is they're not.

This is self-sabotaging self-talk that leads to self-loathing (among other things).

It's so important to address these seemingly innocent thoughts if you want to design a full, exceptional, and amazing life.

In this episode, I show you exactly how to have your own back, so you no longer accept the opinion you have of yourself, but instead create an intentional opinion that leads to the exact results you want.

There's a new tool called an "Alter Ego" that you can use in your life to get amazing results.

Take any area of your life where you want to improve.

Then, create an alter ego for it.

Let's say you want to be a better leader in your job.

You choose someone you know is an amazing leader already.

This can be someone famous or someone you know personally.

Then, you practice acting as if you were her when you're in that role.

The key is to get a clear picture of the characteristics this person has and only use them when you're in that role.

In this example, you wouldn't use your leadership Alter Ego in your personal life, you would only use it in your career.

You can do this for everything.

Your business, your personal life, your physical goals, etc.

We all play different roles in our lives, and the key is to be intentional about how you're showing up in each role.

And there's even more fun you can have with this.

Like choosing a piece of jewelry to wear while you're in this role as a reminder of what your intention is.

To get the full scoop on how to apply this to your life, listen to the podcast episode below.

Do you find yourself worried about what other people think?

Whether it's starting a business, changing careers, or doing something against the advice of your closest family members, the result is the same -- you're thinking about what someone else is thinking about you.

The truth is, you can't control what other people think. If you try, you'll fail because you can't ever know for sure what someone is thinking.

If you show up in the world worried about what people think, you won't show up authentically. Even if people do like this watered down version of you, they really don't like the real you because you're not being you.

In this episode, I share how you can reframe how you think about what other people think about you.

When you let go of what other people think and you show up as yourself, you begin to show people how you expect to be treated. You learn how to let people be wrong about you. And you have a deep-seated confidence that can't be broken.

"I only write when I am inspired. Fortunately I am inspired at 9 o'clock every morning." ― William Faulkner

Do you ever wake up and just not feel like it?

Or, maybe it's after work when you’re supposed to go to the gym, and you don’t feel like going.

Or, on that Saturday when you committed to working on your business, but you just don’t feel like it.

Sometimes, you don’t feel like doing whatever it is you have to do.

Me too.

Sometimes, I don't feel like it.

I know what it’s like to feel like not wanting to do whatever it is I have to do.

So, what’s the solution—the secret to doing what you have to do when you don’t want?

That's what I'm sharing in this episode. Exactly how you can get out of the funk and solve the problem of not wanting to do it.

Do you like giving?

Have you ever thought about why you give?

A friend said to me she regretted giving someone a gift because the recipient didn't appreciate it.

This took her out of generosity.

She had expectations. Her friend fell short.

She didn't give to be generous. She gave because she thought she had to give and she wanted appreciation from the recipient for her giving.

This isn't true generosity. Generosity is a feeling and an action.

When you give because you want to (without expectation), you give from abundance. You are a person who is generous.

When you give with expectations and to get something from someone else, you give from scarcity.

The difference is in how you feel.

Give or don't give. But whichever you choose, like your reason.

I love giving. It feels so good to give. I want to be generous.

But I wasn't always like this. I used to have expectations when I gave. I don't now. I give from a place of abundance because this is who I want to be.

It's better this way.

Decide if you want to be a generous person. Then be her.

Have you ever thought about why you're not more productive?

Most of us are busy, overwhelmed, or burned out.

At least, we think we are.

The truth is that this is just a mismanaged mind.

You can create goals, create a plan, then put all the actions on your calendar to accomplish that goal.

The secret sauce to successfully doing this is being more productive. And the way you become more productive is you stop measuring time and effort and you start measuring what you produce.

I will show you how to do just that in this episode on productivity.

Can you think about a problem you're having right now?

It probably doesn't feel great.

When you have a problem and you're feeling bad about it, the best thing for you to do is separate out the facts from your thoughts about the facts.

Facts are neutral. They're circumstances. They're neither good nor bad.

It's when you have a thought about a circumstance that it becomes good or bad.

This is where problems are created.

You create your own problems by having thoughts about neutral circumstances.

This doesn't mean you should stop.

You probably want to have some problems.

When someone you love lies to you, I bet you want to make that mean you're disappointed. And I bet you want to feel sad about that.

The point is not to eliminate all your problems.

The point is to recognize that you're the one responsible for creating your problems.

When you understand this, you get your power back.

Then, you can decide how you want to solve your problems.

I did this with my student loan debt.

I used to think it was happening to me .

When I started believing it was happening for me , everything changed.

I turned my six figure debt into a six figure online business.

I changed the story I was telling myself.

I took my power back so I could create a solution.

Whatever your problem, you can do this, too.

I don't have any doubts about it.

You have what it takes to solve that problem.

It's within you.

Do you have a hard time holding onto your money?

Whatever the reason, your money comes in and goes right out.

Maybe you pay your bills right away.

Maybe money is tight.

Whatever the reason, one thing is for sure—that money is out the door fast.

Here's a fun fact: this has nothing to do with making money.

It has nothing to do with saving money. It has to do with having and holding onto your money. It’s not enough to make more money. It’s not enough to save a more money.

You have to know how to hold onto your money. You have to know how to have it. You have to know how to treat it well.

Do you treat your money with respect? Do you speak highly about your money? Do you love logging into your bank account?

Do you appreciate your money?

Your relationship with money matters.

Decide what type of relationship you want with the money you have, just because it's money—not for what it can buy you.

That's what I'll show you how to do in this episode.
