One of the greatest literary minds was found in a stupor on the side of the road in Baltimore. EDGAR’S GHOST imagines that in those final moments, while he lay dying in the hospital, he is visited by his creations. The Raven. The Tell-Tale Heart. The Black Cat. Hop-Frog. And we certainly can’t forget Virginia, his lovely cousin-bride. Was she the fabled Lenore? Or was Lenore another woman? QUILT: A Musical Celebration December 1 - 6 Music by Michael Stockler, Lyrics by Jim Morgan - Few who have seen the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt can ever forget the experience or the powerful emotions evoked by this patchwork of panels celebrating the memory of a friend or family member who has died of this terrible scourge. Nim’s Distress was inspired by the movie, ’Nim’s Island’. It’s very soothing and I love the way it sounds on the Lap Harp. I have really been inspired the past couple of days.

Being creative yesterday, I came up with an awesome tune on the Violin, called ’Gypsy Down’.  The inspiration was the sound it’s self.  Just listening to it, it feels as though it has a story of a Gypsy who has done something wrong and is being scolded at.  More to come...

Yet another oldie that I dug up - Enjoy!

Castle on a Cloud from Les Miserables There is a castle on a cloud I like to go there in my sleep Aren't any floors for me to sweep Not in my castle on a cloud. There is a room that's full of toys There are a hundred boys and girls Nobody shouts or talks too loud Not in my castle on a cloud.

There is a lady all in white Holds me and sings a lullaby She's nice to see, and she's soft to touch She says: 'Cosette I love you very much.'

I know a place where no one's lost I know a place where no one cries Crying at all is not allowed Not in my castle on a cloud.

I dug up an oldie....hope ya like it!

Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again Phantom of the Opera

You were once my one companion . . . you were all that mattered . . . You were once a friend and father - then my world was shattered . . .

Wishing you were somehow here again . . . wishing you were somehow near . . . Sometimes it seemed if I just dreamed, somehow you would be here . . .

Wishing I could hear your voice again . . . knowing that I never would . . . Dreaming of you won't help me to do all that you dreamed I could . . .

Passing bells and sculpted angels, cold and monumental, seem, for you, the wrong companions - you were warm and gentle . . .

Too many years fighting back tears . . . Why can't the past just die . . .?

Wishing you were somehow here again . . . knowing we must say goodbye . . . Try to forgive . . . teach me to live . . . give me the strength to try . . .

No more memories, no more silent tears . . . No more gazing across the wasted years . . . Help me say goodbye.

Lyrics:

(Johnny Jump Up Tune)

Well, I'll tell you a story that happened to me,

One day as I went down to the cemetery

The moon it was bright and the night it was dark

Says, I was real scared when I heard a wolf's bark

Chorus:

But I'll never, no never, no never again

If I live to be a hundred-and-ten

I fell to the ground, right into the stew,

After drinking a cauldron of witches brew

Well, I fell to the ground, this witch was untrue .

This was my fortune of Witches Brew.

After drinking a Cauldron of cider so sweet,

I took a big swig and danced on me feet

Chorus

Well the clock it struck midnight, the moon it was high

Vampires bite and the ghosts they do fly

Wizards and Zombies my eyes sure did grew

Why oh why then did I ask for more brew

(Chorus X2)

Lyrics:

(The Mermaid Tune)

T’was Friday night, when we set flight

And we were not so far from the land,

When a spirit he spied

A pretty little witch,

With a broom and a wand in her hand

Chorus:

And the cauldron does boil,

And the spells are brewing too

And we fine witches go dancing in the night

While the dead lay down below, below, below

While the dead lay down below

Then up spoke the Vampire of this bloody ship

And a scary ‘ol one was he

Said, ‘I have a victim back in London by the sea

And tonight she’ll be bleeding for me!’

Chorus

Then up spoke the Ghost of this ghoulish ship

And a spooky ghost was he

Says, ‘I care more for me haunts and for me grave

Then I do for the bottom of the cauldron!’

Chorus

Then three spells cast, spun our spooky world

And three spells cast spun she

Yes, three spells cast spun our spooky world

As we sank to the bottom of the cauldron

Chorus

Lyrics:

(Tune of Wild Rover)

I've been a wild Vampire for many a year,

And I spent all my hauntings on victims with blood,

But now I've returned with fright and great scares,

And I never will play the wild Vampire no more.

Chorus:

And it's no, nay, never

No, nay, never, no more,

Well I’ve played the wild Vampire

No never, no more.

I went down to an abbey I used to frequent,

And I told the high priestess my soul was then spent.

I offered her blood, but she answered me "Nay.

Such custom like yours I could have any night."

Chorus

I went back to the graveyard, confess what I’ve done

And I hid in the dark to hide from the sun

If light embraces me, I will be no more

And I never will play the wild Vampire no more

Chorus

Lyrics:

(Tune of Scarborough Faire)

Are you going to Scarborough Scare?

Darkness, cold, no light and scary.

Through the trees and over the graves,

Then you will be a victim of mine.

Make the stars shine throughout the night.

Darkness, cold, no light and scary.

Take my hand and you will soon see

The dark light that has embraced me.

Ghost fly low as the moon does to rise.

Darkness, cold, no light and scary.

Over the rooftops and tree branches do fly.

Then this will be a haunting of mine.

Have you gone to Scarborough Scare?

Darkness, cold, no light and scary.

Through the trees and over the graves,

Then you have been a victim of mine.

Lyrics:

(Waly, Waly tune)

The graveyard is dark, I cannot cross o’er

And neither have I wings to fly

But give me a bat, that can carry two

And both shall fly, my love and I

There is a ghost, that haunts the tree

It’s loaded deep as deep can be

But not as deep as the fright I’m in

I care not if I scream and shriek

Oh the graveyard is dark and scary too

My love is gone like morning dew

I long for light and warmer winds

And my true love safe in my view

Oh the graveyard is dark, I cannot cross o’er

And neither have I wings to fly

But when my soul returns to me

Ne’er shall we part eternally

Lyrics:

(Tune of Loch Lomond)

By yon creepy banks and by yon spooky braes,

Where the moon shines bright on my coffin

Where me and my true love will never meet again,

On the bloody, bloody banks of the graveyard.

Chorus: You take the high road and I'll take the low road.

I'll be insane before Ye.

For me and my true love will never meet again

On the bloody, bloody banks of the graveyard.

The wee bats fly, And the wild flowers die,

And in moonlight the waters weeping.

But the broken heart it bleeds, Nae second life again,

Though the sorrow may cease from my greeting.

Chorus

Lyrics:

(Drunken Sailor Tune)

What do you do with a creepy spirit?

What do you do with a creepy spirit?

What do you do with a creepy spirit,

Earl-aye in the moonlight?

Chorus:

Way hey an’ up he rises,

Way hey an’ up he rises,

Way hey an’ up he rises,

Earl-aye in the moonlight.

Put him in the village and make him haunt it…

Put him in the village and make him haunt it…

Put him in the village and make him haunt it…

Earl-aye in the moonlight.

Chorus

Make him fly around until he’s dizzy…

Make him fly around until he’s dizzy…

Make him fly around until he’s dizzy…

Earl-aye in the moonlight.

Chorus:

Take him back to the cemetery…

Take him back to the cemetery…

Take him back to the cemetery…

Earl-aye in the moonlight.

Chorus

And that’s what you do with a creepy spirit!

That’s what you do with a creepy spirit!

That’s what you do with a creepy spirit!

Earl-aye in the moonlight!

Lyrics:

(A Lass You Don’t Meet Everyday tune)

My name is untrue. I'm a proud flying ghost,

And a scary young soul that I've been.

Chorus:

So be easy and free

When you're flyin' with me.

I'm a ghost you don't meet everyday.

I'm a spirit by trade

And a ramblin’ maid

And a many a games that I’ve played

(chorus)

I'm a rovin' young soul

And a wanderin' young lass

I'm chock full of blarney and brass.

(chorus)

Along with my friends,

I go out for to haunt

All along the road they call spook way.

(chorus)

So come fill up your goblet

With brandy and wine...

Whatever it costs he will pay.

(chorus)

I'm a ghost you don't meet everyday.
