Today, I'm chatting with Corri Lynne — she's a children's book author and illustrator living in Pittsburgh with her husband and little dog, Peanut. She is passionate about living authentically and sharing openly about past trauma, addiction, and recovery. Her hope is to challenge the stigma society still holds for these issues. She is a lover of all things creative and believes in the power of art to heal and transform.
Corri Lynne shared so openly and vulnerably about her own journey recovering from addiction and an eating disorder, and how she reconnected with her creative side to heal trauma... and how she now creates healing stories for children to feel more empowered in navigating their own emotional world. We also talked about some very practical ways to deal with self-doubt and shame when we create and share our art.

As always, my intention is to help you navigate the complexities of your creative mind without letting it hold you back. Today, I'm chatting with Susan Victoria Becher, (a lovely former client of mine!) who is a poet, writer, singer/songwriter, and overall creative being. She enjoys broadening her skillset by trying new things and encouraging others to do the same. She is publishing her YA novel entitled 'Penn and Ava' this summer, with a publishing date set for July 23rd. She is also in the process of writing and recording an album. And she is currently in graduate school to become a Licensed Professional Counselor and plans to graduate in December of 2025.
During our conversation, we explore the creative process of publishing a book and recording an album, chat about the healing power of art, dive into the courage of making big life changes and finding communities that truly support us, and discuss small steps to navigate the vulnerable process of sharing our art with the world.
Susan is currently running a crowdfunding campaign to support the publishing of her YA novel. Let's share and support her: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/penn-ava-help-me-publish-my-ya-novel#/

This is an official invitation to join us for Devotion, a 5-week series of community gatherings where we come together to create space for a project that’s been sitting on the shelves of our creative mind. Some of us will dedicate time to finishing existing projects or starting on new ones, while others will take the opportunity to explore something new or reconnect with a creative practice, all with the support of each other.
Together, we'll embrace the messy drafts, the works in progress, and the creative detours. No deadlines, no judgments— just a supportive environment where you can build momentum + make progress on your project at your own pace.
The next series begin on April 25th, and I would love to see you there! Sessions will be recorded if you cannot attend live.

Julie is dedicated to supporting conscious business owners and creative solopreneurs in crafting intentional websites that will give them the confidence to share their work, genuinely connect with their audience, and enjoy the freedom of growing their business their own way.

In this episode, I'm reading a past letter I sent to the community last year to share guidance around staying true to our colours and stop diluting our art to fit in. How can we stay true to our vision and feel at home in our creative work?
We can easily dilute our true colours as artists, creative minds and unconventional humans, when our creative vision gets tinted by the demands, 'shoulds' and distractions of the outside world... or the impossible standards we hold for ourselves.
Fully honouring who we are will also inevitably bring out where we contrast with others. That’s where our truth gets to exist, that’s where our beauty lies.
How can you stay true to the version of yourself, here and now? How can you own the boldest hues of your truest colours?
-
Prompts shared in this episode:
Where am I diluting my essence and my art to keep the peace or please others?
How can I be kinder to myself and let go of the red editor’s pen?
What beauty can I choose to see in the messiness of this process?
-
Read the letter here.

Private coaching is now open! You're welcome to schedule a complimentary clarity call so we can meet, talk through your current challenges and aspirations, and identify what kind of support may benefit you right now.
In this episode, I'm answering the most frequently asked questions about working with a coach: What is coaching? What's the difference with other modalities? What can we work on together? Our coaching partnership is a space we co-create to explore questions like: What might happen if I was courageous enough to truly be me? What if I listened to my intuition and followed the muse? What if I just went for it? I’ve had the honour to witness such beautiful things + magic come out of bravely exploring those questions.
Through coaching, we can help you:
PS. Thank you for the important work you do, dear creative mind. If receiving support this season would feel like a big exhale, I can't wait to meet you!

How can I find more ease in my creative work? How can I bring my mission further? And more importantly, how can I avoid exhausting myself in the process?
You may have witnessed your creative mind oscillating between burning out and giving up, between pushing through and declaring defeat.
This episode is a loving reminder that you don't have to carry your creative mission alone, and how collaboration can not only relieve the pressure but bring your ideas much further. This gets to be a shared experience, and it has to. We cannot create that big change on the collective by working alone… we need to work together to make a real impact on the collective.
I hope you'll join us this summer for The Creative Playground, a bi-weekly community gathering that happens around the New Moon and Full Moon this season. Also, Momentum is coming back later this fall! This is a 5-week intimate group coaching experience to make progress on your creative goals. Have you ever caught yourself ruminating on the same idea, overwhelming yourself and getting dizzy with your own thoughts? Maybe you’ve explored so many options and scenarios that you don’t even know what you want to create anymore. Maybe you’re ruminating on a project, redoing things that don’t seem to make much difference. Or maybe you feel like your thoughts are running on a hamster wheel in your mind. Whatever it looks like, the result is usually the same: we paralyze and we feel stuck. It happens to all of us. For many reasons.
Your mind is creative… you have a vivid imagination, you have this ability to invent things. That includes thoughts and scenarios and options and layers of options. So, let’s explore a few things together to help you soften the mind chatter, get out of overthinking mode and get back into creating mode.

Feeling burnt out, exhausted or uninspired is something a lot of creative minds can relate to… as if your creative garden suddenly became a desert. We can’t seem to connect with the muse that usually leads us or we simply don’t have the energy to follow her guidance.

Balance can feel like a puzzling concept and impossible destination to reach for us, creative minds. In this episode, I'm reading a past letter I sent to the community to invite them to seek flow within the tumultuous reality of creative living. Balance needs to be a flexible and responsive concept— it cannot be a fixed destination we’re hoping to reach. We may need to accept our imbalances and wobbliness, while building the ability to recalibrate. We find balance when we follow our natural rhythms and don’t obstruct the flow— when we’re not trying to control the waves, but decide to ride them.
What do you think?

How can we keep making progress towards our vision despite the anxiety we may feel around the big unknowns it comes with? Change is…well, change. It disrupts the status quo. And that comes with waves of (annoying, awkward, frustrating) discomfort. It asks you to plant your feet in new grounds, walk on an unpaved road, and sit with the discomfort of not knowing how this change is going to unfold. Let's explore how we can bravely face the discomfort of change.

Michelle really allowed herself to follow her intuition, design her creative work with so much intention and gave herself a completely new life. We talk about the life and rebirth cycle they navigated, as well as the life and rebirth cycle that can be found when upcycling furniture and giving them a new life. We also explore how we can allow ourselves the freedom to create and explore our potential, and the challenges and benefits of leaving the corporate world (and the conditioning that's weaved into it).

Why does creating art feel so hard and complicated? Dear creative mind, you’re not blocked, there are knots in your creative process… which can be untangled. And you’re not stuck, you’re committed to certain patterns because they serve a purpose… and you can unlearn them and support yourself in a more helpful way. So let’s explore these creative knots.
Some typical challenges we go through + questions to reflect on:
Which of these knots have you experienced before? Where do you feel it comes from? And what is the consequence of staying committed to these stories?
Because they really are just… stories.

Julie Kim, artist, joins me for today's conversation about the many layers of art and creativity. We chat about cultivating a slow approach to art-making, exploring our inner landscapes, designing an inspiring space and more. She also shares about the intriguing process of making your own paint pigments, and her beautiful journey in Peru.
Julie Kim is an artist, designer, and pigment worker from Seattle, Washington. In her paintings she explores the movement of light, color, and energy in the spaces where inner and outer worlds overlap. Using natural handmade and synthetic paints, she weaves elements of the material landscape together with the felt and subtle experience, the lightness and density of which are mirrored in her palette. Her curiosity for landscape and pigment has led her to explore mountains, rivers, deserts, and jungles of the world, cultivating a closer relationship with Earth and a deeper understanding of the inner world. Each pigment discovery contributes to her handmade mineral paint palette and informs a vocabulary of shapes that characterize her paintings: wild growth of jungle foliage, fluidity of the wind, crystallized light, and clear horizons. Her paintings bring to light an unseen story, layering dimensions of pigment, landscape, and spirit onto paper.

Have you noticed yourself getting stuck somewhere in the process of starting or completing projects, even when you have a plan? Like something is preventing you to follow the roadmap. When that happens, we start to feel lost, we procrastinate, we ruminate, we overthink, we even doubt the plan… and then, well not much happens. Let’s try to untangle that knot together.
Some reflections to journal about or bring along with you today:
A loving reminder: Having a plan can give us the illusion of control. We might stay stuck in the plan because taking action on it will bring us out of our comfort zone and into the unknown. Investigate your need for control… and explore what you CAN actually control.

Enjoy this free meditation to help you slow down and cultivate patience. A thank you gift from me to you in this Holiday season. As we're approaching the end of the year, we might feel rushed or sense a certain urgency to meet goals or milestones. Let's pause, reflect and invite patience as we allow our projects to bloom in their own timing in 2022. I'm so grateful that you're here listening to this podcast and I cannot wait to chat with you in the next season!
This episode is an invitation for you to create a simple ceremony to close your current chapter so you can step into what's next with intention. Every story has a beginning, a middle, and an end. We have to allow ourselves to go through each phase. When we’re not creating space to end a chapter, we’re not closing the cycle and we can keep repeating it. New beginnings are exciting and full of possibilities... and endings are full of valuable lessons we need to enter our next cycle with more clarity.
This week’s podcast is about a topic that’s often tricky for all artists out there: selling. We’ll tackle the discomfort and fears of pricing our work and offering it to the world with the help of mindset and sales coach, Amanda Joyce Weber. Whether it’s through daily habits or a handy set of tools, taking care of one’s self shouldn’t feel shameful nor should it be treated as an afterthought. When it comes to business, it’s easy to forget that we are our most precious resource as we plunge head first into hustle culture.

In this episode, we explore the link between our desire for freedom and our need for control (hello perfectionism tendencies, I see you!). We identify as freedom seekers, yet a lot of us don’t really feel free on the daily. On the one hand, our attachment to this free-spirited identity can prevent us from creating the helpful structure we need to be able to focus our energy and find flow in our creative practice and business. On the other hand, some of us ironically struggle with letting go of our need to control every detail, may it be in our creative practice, the outcome of our work, and how it’s “supposed” to happen. Freedom and control cannot always coexist when we’re working towards a life, business and creative practice that flows. In this episode, we explore a few solutions to consider, including adding the right amount of (flexible and playful) structure, softening our grip on control, and learning to enjoy freedom (without shame or guilt).

A lot of us have this resistance when it comes to selling. We either demonize it or procrastinate to avoid it. Whatever this awful vision of what selling is you have, it’s time to change it. Selling can be nothing more than a friendly invitation to take the next step on a promising journey. Stop thinking of yourself as “that annoying car salesperson”, you’re definitely not that. You’re someone with a beautiful gift to offer. In this episode, we’ll talk about the blocks around all things sales and how to shift your perspective around it.

Obviously, running a business requires work. There’s no getting around it. But hustle culture has us convinced that it’s a “one size fits all'' way of operating in that if you’re not always busy doing and achieving, you just don’t want it enough. Or worse, that there’s something wrong with you. How do you break that autopilot pattern you’re in to slow down to enjoy life as well as your business? In this episode, I’ll share some of my experiences as well as some ways you can let go of the gas pedal, without pumping the brakes to a complete halt. How do we slow down and still grow?

A lot of us get caught up in the whirlwind of entrepreneurship. For many creatives and conscious entrepreneurs, building a business is a gateway to living on our terms - that often means more slowly and mindfully. That desire doesn’t always align with the traditional image we have of entrepreneurship, how it “should” look like and the hustle culture narrative. That’s why I created a free workshop around designing an intentional business, so you can grow it while respecting who you are. In this episode, I’ll do a quick walkthrough of the workshop’s 5 main themes and an overview of each of these.

We often hear about entrepreneurs romanticizing their failures after the fact, but rarely do we get a live play-by-play feed of their doubts and struggles. It’s obviously less sexy and inspiring but the reality is that we do need to hear it because it’s something we all go through.
This week we have the luxury of speaking to someone who’s willing to talk openly and vulnerably about some of these live ups and downs. He’ll share his state of mind and thought process on the insecurities of not knowing what the next steps are when curveballs, plateaus, and energies suddenly change our plans. We also discuss struggling to go against our own instincts due to what we’re often led to believe we should do.

In this episode, Celina Stobbe, who’s a healing guide and private client of mine, is joining me to share about her journey leaning into intuition and following her truth.
Celina supports unconventional souls to break free from conditioning and shift their experience into sovereignty, authenticity, and ultimate empowerment.
Supporting yourself on your healing journey and having someone to hold space for you as you unearth your truth, uncover stories and patterns that are keeping you small and actively work on changing the narrative, is essential. We are not meant to walk this path alone.
How can we get out of our head and into our heart? That’s what we’re discussing in this episode.

This week, we’re exploring another trap that gets in the way of our creative life and business: our fear of rejection. It’s a tricky one because of how deeply rooted it is in our DNA. Unfortunately, our instinct and desire for acceptance can unbalance and limit our ability to live authentically. This is especially troublesome if you’re different and unconventional which is often the case for us, creative souls. Let’s talk about how this fear ends up being a form of self-rejection that more times than not, can create a diluted, muted version of who we secretly long to be, and prevents us from being visible to the people we’re here to serve.

Are you getting in the way of your growth?
Fear of success and growth is something I chat often with my clients.
This week on the podcast, we're exploring why we tend to face a lot of resistance and get into self-sabotage, the closer we get to a goal. The fear of failure and the fear of success both operate similarly in that they develop strategies to shelter us from the fear of the unknown.
They also have the same result: they keep us stuck.
It’s easy to picture success in a way that can scare us in that it can change us. But it doesn’t have to. Let's help you gain clarity on the underlying reasons why this fear develops, and how you can navigate it to stop the self-sabotage.

As we keep exploring creativity be it through entrepreneurship or in general, this week we’ll focus on a big hurdle: the imposter syndrome. This can take on many forms: feeling like you’re never ready or good enough or that you’re a fraud, that you don’t belong with your peers, that you’re undeserving and that one day, you’ll be “found out”.
How can we overcome it? We’ll discuss how the imposter syndrome can affect our creative-self and business.

In this episode, I share about another “creative-block power couple”. These blocks are some of the traps that we often succumb to as creative souls, but in understanding them, we become more equipped to navigate them.
Today we’ll talk about indecisiveness and our fear of commitment.
It can be very easy to get sidetracked and influenced by too many external sources, especially when trying to “find the right way”. This is often due to our lack of confidence towards our general ability to make decisions. Rather than finding the right decision, it’s more important to find the right decision for us and the right decision, right now.
Making decisions and committing can also feel very restrictive and overwhelming, but that’s only if what we’re committing to isn’t something that stems from our own desires.
Let’s declutter all the shoulds and talk about how indecisiveness and fear of commitment can steer us off course.

In this second episode of season three, dedicated to creativity and living a creative lifestyle, we’ll start getting into some of the blocks and traps that get in our way. In giving it some thought, I’m starting to believe that our creative blocks come in pairs - I call them “Creative Block Power Couples”.
This week we’ll deal with one of the biggest ones: Perfectionism and Procrastination. We’ll talk about how one feeds into the other and how they both affect our self-worth and self-trust. I also want to speak to how they both contribute to a never-ending hamster wheel of never-enoughness.

In this first episode of season 3, which will be dedicated to creativity as a whole, I started thinking about what creativity means to me, what it helps me with and what it creates when it’s not in my life.
Obviously, creativity can mean many different things to many different people and it made me realize how important it is to define what creativity means to you, especially if you’re a creative person. One thing I realized is that whenever creativity was missing from my life, it happened to be some of the most difficult moments for me. Conversely, creativity happened to be at the center of me getting out of these difficult moments.
So how can we live our lives creatively? How can we transform ourselves into channels from which creativity can express itself?

Creating and launching a business from the ground up requires a lot from us. Thankfully there’s a wealth of knowledge available to us but in doing so, we tend to create a gap between how we run our business and who we are as the person running it. Rather than adapting the learnings and blending them with our personal reality, we create carbon copies of business templates that unfortunately contribute to draining our energy and confidence.
There isn’t “one way” to do anything and once you accept yourself and account for who you are, that’s when you can create from a place of flow. We need to account for our values and identity because they 100% have a direct impact on every single choice we make in your business.
In this episode, I’ll take you behind the scenes at how I had to reshape the way I run my business based on my personality, values and identity. We’ll dive into how I create my schedule, my boundaries and how I create my content.

If you’ve heard of virtual assistants you probably know how synonymous it has become with flexibility, be it of location, schedule and even skills. In this episode, we talk to Felly Day who walks us through her journey of becoming a VA from sunny Mexico. Felly is a prime example of what you can do when you leverage your existing skills, take a leap, and trust in your own capacities. In using creative writing from her younger days at school she now runs her own VA agency and hasn’t looked back since.

Change and uncertainty go hand in hand and we tend to minimize the anxiety that comes with change. While the uncertainty of the 2020 pandemic has affected us all, it has also made us reflect on our lives and lead us to change be it change of career, relationship or simply new lifestyle. What is often talked about in change is either the start of the journey, how to get started or the tail end, how to enjoy the benefits. What is less talked about is the in-between phase where our footing is hard to find. This is the phase where the uncertainty from change is often the most stressful. How do we get past that phase?

As someone who loves planning ahead, I’ve learned how to make the best out of my planning efforts. Oddly enough, I’ve noticed that planning through goal setting isn’t 100% reliable. We often set out goals through the sum total of other people’s vision. So how do we know if the goals we set are really OUR goals and not someone else’s? I feel it’s always important to look our past year, gauge what has worked, what hasn’t and why and from that, create a vision on which goals will likely flow out organically. In this episode, I’ll walk through my own process in planning your next year.

Entrepreneurship often propagates the importance of hustling, of being busy or doing more. But more doesn’t always get you further ahead. If anything there are times where more sets you back. We’ve all been there: there’s so much to do and we always feel like we’re trailing so we do more and more to catch up. Compounded over time, our actions lack perspective and intention and the result: we’re drained. The same kind of drained that made us quit our 9 to 5 to begin with. So what’s the solution? Doing less. It’s as counterintuitive as it gets, but it’s the truth.
This week we talk about embracing a slower sustainable pace in entrepreneurship.

Taking time to process what is happening. Being in tune with yourself. Allowing yourself to feel. Doing what feels good. Following joy.
These are things we tend to oversimplify as “alignment”. But what goes into aligning our life, our business and our role as an entrepreneur is a continuous journey that constantly evolves. As you know it’s a topic that hits home for me and I couldn’t be happier to talk about it with Melissa Donovan. Melissa is a Holistic life coach, healer, copywriter and if that wasn’t enough a vegan food blogger.
We chat about how to connect with our intuition and how to develop that relationship with it. We discuss what goes into creating that harmony halo. And for those of you who are multi-passionate as we are, we also share what has helped us incorporate all these passions that drive us, in our lives.

People often wonder what are the main struggles when it comes to launching your first business. Ironically enough, it’s how to enjoy having your own business and taking advantage of the freedom we create.
This week on the podcast my guest is Angela Mastrogiacomo, who helps people launch businesses successfully. We chat about some of the things we tend to forget on our first entrepreneurial path.
Rather than seeing our entrepreneurial journey as a whole, like one big ongoing experiment, we tend to get bogged down in getting it all right on the first try. We over-plan the long term and forget about why we started a business to begin with:... freedom.

Out of all the learnings over the years of being an entrepreneur, if I had a way to go back in time and give my younger self a tip it would be this: be patient. Entrepreneurship is a series of iterations and the best way to live that reality is to enjoy the beauty in the “draft version of your business”. It’s important to understand and accept that when we start a business, we’re in a constant state of “work-in-progress” which greatly conflicts with our expectations of having a finalized business from day 1.
This week I talk about the risks and the impact it can have on our business to set the wrong intentions and expectations.

Every day we’re faced with questions with no one to ask to...or so we think.
The most misunderstood, misused and underrated tool in business is market research. I’ve come to realize that people simply have the wrong idea of what it’s for and how to use it.
From social media captions to sales pages, product launches or onboarding process market research can help you improve or create a business. It helps you get clear with what’s blurry and get confident. It can help you be more helpful and resonate more with your ideal client and ultimately manage your time and energy with more ease.
How can it do that? This week I answer a few questions to help demystify market research.

Sell. Just another “four-letter word” for a lot of us. When people describe a bad selling experience we often hear about “pushy”, “impersonal”, “mechanical”. The problem is that bad selling is the norm when it should be the exception. Selling doesn’t have to be bad.
Even for us more heart-led entrepreneurs, we do need to sell to have our business create a positive impact. Good selling comes from a place of authenticity and connection. Good selling aspires to be magnetic and invites people in as opposed to pushing something down their throats. When you’re mindful and specific about your sales approach you will create a good sales experience for the people you’re looking to connect with and serve.
That comes from a place of a healthy balance of feminine and masculine energy. So what does that mean? Let’s talk about it in this episode.

Any entrepreneur looks up to certain leaders. We gravitate towards leadership yet, we all struggle in putting our finger on what it means to be a good leader. We tend to emulate rather than bringing our own flavour to leadership. While there are certain qualities that may be easier to identify, there is a skill that a lot of us tend to forget: being the kind of leader that is aligned with the kind of person we are.
Showing up as a leader means showing up as who you are, not as someone else. Only by being yourself, can you truly lead.

We all struggle with being confident - be it in our personal lives or as entrepreneurs. Considering how much we strive to improve our confidence, is it possible we’ve been focusing on the wrong components to do so? What if it was more about "turning down" the lack of confidence rather than just focusing on actively trying to be more confident? Would you rather actually feel confidence rather than practising a sense of confidence?
I would argue that real confidence is a byproduct of accumulating relevant experience. So rather than to wait for a fleeting moment of confidence to inhabit us, choose to move forward as you are and build long-lasting confidence based on real-life trial & error.

In this era where productivity is King, is it crazy to think that doing less can actually lead to increased productivity? Beyond that, can it also lead to feeling more fulfilled? What if we approached our business with more essentialism? What if we cut through all the noise and started “decluttering” our own business. In this episode, I give you my take on what it means to bring this essentialist approach in business so you can focus on what matters (aka focus on what truly works, and drop what doesn't so you can free up more time).
