This week Scott welcoms Ivan De Prume to the show. Ivan, known for his work in the early days of White Zombie, also has his new band Boundless Joy.

Ivan grew up in Brooklyn, NY which is where he'd go on to meet future bandmate Sean Yseult. In this conversation, Ivan discusses his upbringing in New York as well as early musical influences.

In this episode, you'll get the backstory of how White Zombie was formed as well as how he got into drumming.

As per usual, Scott takes Ivan on a trip down memory lane as they go over his recorded works including Psychohead Blowout, Soulcrusher, Make Them Die Slowly, God of Thunder, and the story behind the breakout album by White Zombie 'La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume 1.'

During touring for the 'La Sexorcisto' album, Ivan left the band. In this conversation, he shares the story of his departure.

This week Scott welcomes Sergio Vega of Deftones and Quicksand for a great conversation. After playing bass for Deftones since 2009, Sergio announced he was leaving the band earlier this year when contract negotiations broke down. Since then, he's gone back to focusing on his time on Quicksand; a post-hardcore group he founded all the way back in 1990.

Scott and Sergio cover a lot of ground in this conversation. Things start out with discussion of Sergio's early life and musical influences. His parents were a crucial factor in exposing him to different types of music. Sergio's early influences rum the gamut and it's interesting to hear where he comes from. Punk and Hardcore music were, especially, a big influence that led him on his path.

This week Scott welcomes Doc Coyle of Bad Wolves to the show for an in-depth discussion.

The conversation starts with Doc and Scott talking about their shared love of movies; especially Wayne's World. Doc grew up in New Jersey near Rutgers University. In this talk he reflects on his family and upbringing.

Coming from a musical family, Doc was influenced through his parents love of Jazz music, classical and early classic rock. Additonally, his parents influenced him through 90's alternative music. They sound like cool people! Like many people, exposure to MTV helped to inspire Doc to become a musician.

In this talk, Doc talks about how the culture of the time (including comic books, metal bands, etc) helped lead him to make connections and form bands.

Doc Coyle also hosts the very popular Ex-Man Podcast. His show has grown to very big acclaim and popularity. It's highly recommended. In this episode, Doc shares his thoughts on the podcast platform and what shows influenced him.

This week Scott welcomes back Erik Rogers of Stereomud for a fun and insightful conversation. Eric was one of the first ever Good Company guests.

Stereomud, formed of members from New York and Atlanta, made their mark from 1999-2003. The band released two full-length albums; 2001's 'Perfect Self' and 2003's 'Every Given Moment' before disbanding.

Topics touch on in this chat include how Scott met Erik and reached out to him when Good Company was just starting out, Erik's early days, and the early days of Stereomud. Erik's current project, My Therapy, is going into its sixth year. In this disscussion, talks about the formation of the band, their cool hip-hop covers, and future plans.

This week Scott welcomes former Fozzy/Stuck Mojo drummer Frank Fontsere for a great conversation on his life and career.

Scott's fandom for Frank goes back to his teenage years as a fan of Stuck Mojo and, later, Fozzy. Frank recently announced his retirement from the music industry and is now focusing on new endeavors including his own original art as well as a new podcast.

Frank joined Stuck Mojo just in time for the recording of 'Pigwalk.' He stayed with the band through 2001 and simultaneously joined Fozzy in 2000 for their self-titled debut album. His work is featured on every Fozzy album through the critically-acclaimed release 'Judas' in 2017. In 2009, Frank rejoined Stuck Mojo who released a reunion album, 'Here Come the Infidels' in 2016. In this episode, Frank tells Scott many behind the scenes stories on the histories of each band and much more including touring stories. Frank is truly an open book and shares a lot of info that fans will appreciate.

Kurt, an outstanding artist, is a past guest of the show and a longtime friend of Scott's C. Thomas Howell is, of course, known for a long run of Hollywood success with movies such as 'The Outsiders,' 'Red Dawn,' and many others. He's additionally kick-started a music career as Tommy Howell; going the path of country music and songwriting. His band, The Pony Express, has been building momentum across the Southeast.

In this long-form conversation the talk about how they met while Howell was in Atlanta working on 'The Walking Dead.' Howell just started singing and playing guitar in 2021 and has dove in full force with music. He shares the story of how this all happened. It's really interesting.

This week Scott is joined by Richie the Barber for an unforgettable episode (and haircut).

Richie the Barber is certainly not the barber your father took you to as a child. This self-confessed nonconformist is a byproduct of what happens when an old soul falls in love with punk ethos.

Known for his 1920s gentleman-like mustache and Chaplinesque picture poses, the man is a dedicated barber whose clientele is as broad as his horizons. Richie is not only a talented barber but also an incredible artist as well as an author.

Formed in California in 1995, the group took off quickly on the strength of their 'Get Some' album. Tragically, it was all cut short with the untimely death of vocalist Lynn Strait in 1998.

Danny Boy of House of Pain joins Scott this week for an in-depth, entertaining discussion. Danny is Executive Director of The Outsiders House Museum, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Founding member of House of Pain & La Coka Nostra.

House of Pain enjoyed a huge wave of success but just as quickly, Danny got tied up in hard drugs. In this discussion he tells Scott about the choices he made and how those choices caused things to spin out of control.

After getting sober, things began to turn up personally for Danny Boy. In the first 3 years of sobriety, he began getting things in order, putting out a solo album as well as forming strong business ties. However, internally, he had stopped doing the work needed and continued to struggle. He would eventually overcome addiction and put it behind him. It's an inspiring story.

The movie 'The Outsiders' is very important to Danny. As a latchkey kid, it helped him through childhood. It had such an impact on him that he actually purchased the house from the movie and has written a book on his collection of memorabilia from the film. His story of finding the house, purchasing, and rebuilding it is incredible.

Blackwater Drowning sit down with Scott this week for a fun chat on their career! The band formed in 2013 in Western NC. In this discussion, the band talks about their early days, formation, and much more.

In this talk, the band share their songwriting and recording processes for how they get such a unique sounds. Their first album, 'Dillusionary' was released in 2015. Scott gets the behind-the-scenes story of how the album was made as well as how they view it in hindsight.

Say Never recorded material at Ledbelly Sound Studios in Dawsonville, GA. Both singles were mixed by Fozzy/Stuck Mojo guitarist Rich Ward. The decision to release singles early is intentional as the music listening world has changed. In this episode, the guys explain this plan of action.

This week Scott is joined by guitarist Sonny Mayo! Sonny has worked with numerous rock and metal artists over the years; notably, Snot, Sevendust, and Ugly Kid Joe among others.

The discussion starts with talk of Rock to Recovery, a program that brings music to people going through treatment and recovery. This non-profit has helped in numerous facets of society including veterans facilities, rehabilitation facilities, and metal health facilities. In this talk, Sonny shares the benefits of this program and how it's changing lives on a daily basis through the power of music.

After that, the discussion turns to Sonny's incredible music career, starting with Snot. In this discussion, Sonny shares how he got the gig in 1995 and how the band went about writing songs for the first album that would be released in 1997. Additionally, he shares stories of the band days in the trenches and who they shared stages with.

Sonny also performed on a Vanilla Ice album produced by Ross Robinson; it's a story you must hear!

Sonny discusses how he got the news of Lynn Strait's death and his reaction to it. That dovetails into a discussion of the Strait Up tribute album.

After beating his own addiction issues, Sonny was faced with health challenges including a heart attack at the age of 45. This lead to him making changes in his life of which he discusses here.

Eventually, Sonny would leave music behind temporarily and become a vet tech. After a while he'd get a call to join Hed PE to join them on their Blackout album tour.

After his stint with Hed PE, Sonny would receive a phone call from Morgan Rose of Sevendust asking him to join the band. In this discussion, Sonny talks about his tenure with the band as well as the making of the Next album. Additionally, he shares stories from the subsequent tour.

Sonny also contributed to the next two Sevendust albums Alpha and Chapter 7: Hope and Sorrow. They guys discuss both albums in this episode. In 2008, Sonny would be replaced by original Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery. Sonny talks about the impact of this decision and how he pushed forward.

This week Scott is joined by Eric Campuzano; bassist for The Prayer Chain. An alternative Christian-based band, The Prayer Chain was formed in 1990 and have released 5 full-length studio albums as well as several EPs, live albums, and compilations.

In this discussion, Scott talks to Eric about the early days of the band. The period in which The Prayer Chain started was a wildly shifting musical environment. With alternative and grunge music on an upsurge, the Prayer Chain had a niche sound that built their following in an organic way. Eric shares the pressures that went along between the band and the label during a turbulent time and how the band survived through it all.

This talk is a great example of perseverance in the face of the adversity of the recording industry. The Prayer Chain's music has been embraced on a personal level with Christian and non-Christian music fans alike. Their blend of lyrical subject matter has a balance that all audiences can relate to.

Mikey Doling joins Scott this week for an illuminating conversation on Soulfly, Snot, and much much more!

Hailing from Coachella, California, Mikey formed Snot in the early 90's. Fronted by the late Lynn Strait, Snot were ahead of the curve in many ways. In this conversation, Mikey shares the story of how he found Lynn fronting a band in a pizza joint and how they came together. He also shares some small world connections with Ugly Kid Joe and Shannon Larkin of Godsmack being instrumental in solidifying Snot's lineup.

Another California band that came up on the scene in the early 90's was Korn. In this talk, Mikey shares stories of doing shows with Korn as well as Deftones. There are some funny reflections on fashion choices of the nu-metal scene as well.

Also discussed is Snot's inclusion on the 1998 Ozzfest tour and how the planets aligned for that to happen.

The momentum was building with the release of 1997's 'Get Some' but everything was cut short by the untimely death of Strait. The band has, however, carried on in different incarnations. A noteable part of the band's history was the album 'Strait Up.' Featuring several guest vocalists, the album was done as a tribute to Strait. While the album received much acclaim, you'll hear about the difficulties behind it in this discussion.

After the death of Lynn Strait, Mikey would go on to join Soulfly. The story of how he joined the band is very interesting. It was a true trial-by-fire situation leading up to his first show. Mikey would officially join the band for their 'Primitive' album. In this discussion, he discusses its creation and the work ethic involved. Mikey would stay with Soulfly until 2004.

Sirius XM host and "metal entrepreneur" Jose Mangin sits down with Scott this week to discuss his life's journey as a metal fan. Going back to his discovery of Motley Crue in kindergarten, Jose has been on a lifelong metal journey.

In this conversation, Jose discusses his metal roots including an early concert experience seeing Iron Maiden and Anthrax in Arizona. From there he became the "metal influencer" of his group of peers. This would lead him to college radio at the University of Arizona. From there, he wound up in Memphis as a graduate student and deejay on a commercial station.

Jose then describes the steps and circumstances that led him to New York and, ultimately, a job on satellite radio. His tenure at Sirius began in 2000; basically the beginning of satellite radio. Eddie Trunk joins Scott this week for an in-depth discussion of an amazing life in the music industry. While Eddie is now known more for his tv forays such as That Metal Show and Trunkfest on AXSTV, his career in the rock and metal world goes back much further.

This week Scott is joined by former Primer 55 members Bobby Burns and Joshua Toomey. In this detailed discussion, the guys look back on the history of the band. Primer 55 dealt with severe highs and lows. From the highs of Bobby and Jason "J-Sin" Luttrell forming the band in Memphis, obtaining a record deal, and touring on Ozzfest to the lows of addiction, drama, band member exits, and the death of Luttrell in 2018.

In this discussion, Burns and Toomey reflect on many of these moments as well as behind the scenes stories of the band and its inner-workikngs. It's an interesting fly-on-the-wall experience to listen to the stories between these two. Additionally, Bobby and Joshua shed light on their thoughts of a possible reunion in 2020 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the debut lp, 'Introduction to Mayhem.'

Primer 55 was formed in 1997 after years of suffering through the stale music scene in Memphis, TN, dominated by death metal and cover bands. Rather than sit back and complain, the group decided to do something about it. Guitarist Bobby Burns, led by his heavy metal past, co-founded the band with vocalist J-Sin, who added a more hip-hop flavor to the mix. The two enlisted the help of friends Mike "Jr." Christopher on bass and Josh McLane on drums. They soon gained an underground following from their intense live performances and in 1999 released their self-titled debut album on the independent label Propellant Transmissions. Shortly after this release, the group was offered a contract with Island Def Jam. After they graciously accepted the offer, the group continued with their hybrid heavy metal/hip-hop style on their 2000 release Introduction to Mayhem. The album is a trip into the depths of extreme passion and music authority. With the help of Incubus DJ Chris Kilmore, (hed) p.e. frontman MCUD, and Relative Ash vocalist Mark Harrington, the album solidified Primer 55 as a musical force to be reckoned with. Following the release, the band toured almost nonstop and found themselves amongst the elite of hard rock. In 2001, the band replaced drummer Josh McLane, who left for personal reasons, with John Kamoosi to continue work on new material.

On August 14, 2001, Primer 55 released their second studio album, (the) New Release. It went to number 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and No. 102 on the Billboard 200. The album's single, "This Life" peaked at No. 37 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks Chart. After the album's initial success, it was suddenly shelved by Island Records. Burns told PureGrainAudio, "The album was out 2 months then 9/11 happened and we got lost in that shuffle that was going on in NY at that time."

Despite having their album shelved, the band embarked on "The $12 Riot Tour" on October 31 with Dope, Skinlab and Society 1. The next year, Primer 55 performed as the opening act at the 2002
