Economic history is a much loved and slightly neglected area of radio programming. We hope to redress this with our current affairs series ‘The History of Booms, Busts and Bubbles. Every Sunday at 11 am presenter Rita Lobo delves into subjects as fascinating as 'The South Sea Bubble', 'The Tulip Mania of 17th Century Amsterdam', 'The Great Depression' and 'The Panic of 1825'. By examining the causes and consequences of previous market troubles with the assistance of learned Professors from the LSE, Oxford and Cambridge amongst others, we see how the past can illuminate our financial present.
