This weeks guest is an absolute warrior, Sarah Doolin. After the death of her baby Ezrah she has worked tirelessly to campaign, fundraise and raise awareness in Ezrah’s name. She found that it gave her the focus, distraction and purpose that she needed when navigating life after loss. However as the month’s ticked by she realised that she hadn’t actually been focussing on her grief and personal recovery so decided to join our Pathway To Recovery course for some self care and wellbeing focus. It helped her immensely and she wanted to give back to the community by sharing her story.

We throughly enjoyed this chat with Gen (they/them) and Gabs. This wonderful pair are sisters of one of our dear gang members, Georgie.
It was Georgie who suggested this episode because she had found our bonus 'friends and family' episode from series 2 to be a great resource to send out to people supporting her through her experiences.
This was an opportunity to hear about it from the 'supporters' point of view. We talked about the difficulties with knowing what to do and say and how to support a loved one through loss. It was emotional and beautiful and we wish everyone had sisters like Gen and Gabs 🙌❤️

In this episode we chatted to Stacey Courtney from Perth, Australia who earlier this year went through the devastating experience of a Termination For Medical Reasons following IVF.
She talks so openly about what happened and how she navigated this all alongside difficulties with her mental health and she speaks beautifully about how they managed this all as a whole family.
Towards the end of this episode Stacey talks about a frozen embryo transfer that she had the day before recording. Sadly it wasn’t successful and ended with a chemical pregnancy but she and her family remain hopeful that one day they’ll bring a living baby home, a little brother or sister for Sonny.
We know you'll all join us in sending them so much love and hope for the future ❤️

It's time to break the silence and open up the dialogue around the topics of miscarriage and pregnancy loss. No more shame, no more taboo, lets ditch it for our children; the ones that will come, the ones that are and the ones that never came to be.
Our bookThe Worst Girl Gang Ever - a survival guide for navigating miscarriage and pregnancy loss is being released on Thursday 4th August. You can PREORDER NOW.
We are so incredibly proud of this book and we just know it is going to be such a lifeline for so many people who travel this difficult path of infertility and loss. We originally set out to help just one woman feel less alone in the darkness of baby loss - but now... well now we've set out to help EVERY woman in this situation.
It's time to break the silence and open up the dialogue around the topics of miscarriage and pregnancy loss. No more shame, no more taboo - lets ditch it for our children; the ones that will come, the ones that are and the ones that never came to be.
Please, please, please PREORDER NOW and once you've read/listened to it we would be so bloody grateful for a review.
In case you needed any more persuading, here is what Elle Wright of Feathering The Empty Nest had to say about it... “Bex & Laura really have pieced together the parachute we all need to help us land safely after falling into the world of loss and fertility struggles. It’s like the kind friend who climbs down into the hole with you through the worst parts, and gives you a leg back up when you’re ready to try again. Thoughtful, helpful, and a little bit sweary… my kind of manual!” - ain't that flipping lovely!?!

Well that's a wrap guys. Season 4 - we can't quite believe it. It's coming up for 2 years since we first set up TWGGE and we could never EVER have imagined that it would have taken off and reached so many people.
It's so bittersweet because although we are managing to reach and support and hold the hands (virtually) of so many, of course it would amazing if there wasn't need for this kind of thing at all. Having said that, miscarriage and baby loss are not going anywhere BUT this once silenced community now have a voice and the taboo topic is being ripped open to allow people, WARRIORS, the space and platform to grieve and share.
In this episode we both talk a bit about what has been going on in our lives over the last few months and there is A LOT to share.
*no baby/pregnancy triggers

Lucy lives in South Wales with her two fur babies. She made the decision to become a SMBC (solo mum by choice) in early 2021, after the breakdown of her relationship. She's had four rounds of IUI using donor sperm - two of which were successful but one sadly ended in a missed miscarriage just before Christmas 2021 and the other ended in a chemical pregnancy in February 2022. She is now mid way through her first IVF cycle now (June 2022).
The loss of her pregnancies hit her harder than she ever thought possible and it was the first time on her path to motherhood that she ever truly felt alone, with no partner to support her in the darkest hours. She started her anonymous instagram account (@smbc_to_be) in August 2021 to document her journey. She has found it to be a huge source of hope, support and kindness through the best and worst of times.
She is honest and open about all aspects of her TTC journey and really hopes that it helps someone on a similar path. If anyone wants to reach out with questions at any stage of their SMBC journey, she'd be really happy to help.
The main source of support for her has been the Solo Mothers By Choice UK Facebook group. There is also The Stork and I Mum Tribe Facebook Group and 'The Stork and I' podcasts, hosted by Mel Johnson. For other amazing SMBC accounts for people to follow, we suggest people have a look through the accounts she follows on Instagram.

Michelle is a make up artist who has had 3 losses, 2 of which were chemical pregnancies and she feels passionately about getting rid of the taboo and opening up conversations about baby loss.
We had a great time chatting to her on this episode, discussing some of the common issues that we all face when navigating loss and life afterwards.

Journalists and friends, Emma Haslett and Gabby Griffith, started the Big Fat Negative podcast in 2018 when they were struggling to conceive. Over 100 episodes in, they’ve recently published their book of the same name - an essential guide to infertility, IVF and the trials of trying for a baby.
You can follow them on instagram, listen to the pod and buy the book.
We had great fun chatting to these legends and as well as talking us through their own infertility battles we covered all sorts of other topics from jumpsuits, animal poo, 'shoving things up your vag', unnecessary appendicectomies and cow impressions. It's solid gold top quality content, as always.

After experiencing two missed miscarriages, filmmaking couple Bophanie and Ben Lankester (@ben.lankester) decided to channel their trauma into something positive. Through their production company they approached Tommy’s with the idea for 'Who's Counting?', a short film telling the story of a couple who have to endure the emotional and physical trauma of successive losses before they can receive support. To create the film, Bophanie & Ben brought together a team of people affected - or close to those affected - by pregnancy and baby loss.
The making of 'Who's Counting?' has led to Tommy's creating the 'Record of Loss', where parents who have experienced miscarriage are being encouraged to add their names to the database and be part of the very first attempt to count the number of miscarriages in the UK, in order to present the scale of the problem and change policy.
Add your name to Tommy's Record of Loss - actions.tommys.org/a/record-of-loss

Our usual top quality podcasting, packed full of advice and tips survive Mother's Day. We really hope this helps. Sending so much love to you all xx
This episode of TWGGE is sponsored by Merci Maman and with Mother’s Day coming up there really is no better brand to turn to - I mean their name even translates to ‘Thank you Mummy’! As you may or may not know, they’re a personalised jewellery brand, celebrating motherhood through their hand-engraved keepsakes. Every item on their website comes with the option of complimentary personalisation and really does make the perfect gift.
We know that Mother’s Day can be a difficult day for some which is why we wanted to explain a little more about their new Blossom Collection. This is a beautiful two-piece collection centred around the honeysuckle flower. And with four different variations of design to choose from, you can really represent your own family. The lovely thing about this flower is that it can actually represent the ones loved but also lost. And on the back, you can personalise it with those words, names or dates that mean the most to you.
They have kindly offered us 15% off using the code GIRLGANG15 when you shop online at www.mercimamanboutique.com.

It's time to break the silence and open up the dialogue around the topics of miscarriage and pregnancy loss. No more shame, no more taboo, lets ditch it for our children; the ones that will come, the ones that are and the ones that never came to be.
Seetal Savla (@SavlaFaire) and her husband have been trying to conceive for six years after a diminished ovarian reserve diagnosis. Having experienced a devastating miscarriage and four unsuccessful IVF cycles, Seetal got pregnant on their first donor egg IVF cycle, but sadly suffered a traumatic miscarriage at 9 weeks. The couple are currently taking a break from IVF.
Since Mother's Day 2019, Seetal has been documenting her ongoing journey on her blog (www.savlafaire.com) and in the media to raise awareness of infertility, destigmatise the subject – particularly among South Asian communities – and support others in similar situations. You can find her on Instagram or visit her website to find out more.

We completely forgot to record an intro for season 4 and didn't want you guys to miss out on our inane drivel and passionate rants so here is a mid season treat for y'all.
There's a bit of passionate ranting about toxic positivity, random waffling about Pavlov and his dog, reminiscing about duets with Simon from Blue at the weekend and as always we end up with some ugly feelings chat.
In this episode we discuss the launch of our new book in August which is available to preorder now on AMAZON as well as Laura's book It Will Happen which is already out.

Here is part 2 of our chat with Laura Burdett who’s ’picture perfect’ world was shattered by a TFMR. In this episode we walk about her mental health breakdown, admission to psychiatric unit and relationship breakdown. To listen to the story of the TFMR itself and the emotions surrounding it head to part 1 (published last week).
Laura overshares on Instagram with rambles on loss, love and learning how to ‘do life’ again when things don’t go to plan.
She recently launched her patreon and there’s a whole mix of stuff on there: babyloss/parenting after loss blogs, mental health stuff, tales from the psych ward, coparenting & spilling the tea on her (many!) dating fails as a single (slightly batshit crazy!) mum.

This week we chatted to Becky Kearns. Here is what she had to say:
Hi I'm Becky, a fertility advocate and grateful mum to three girls following an early menopause diagnosis, a long fertility journey, miscarriage and eventually redefining and achieving my dream using donor eggs.
As @definingmum I now raise awareness of this alternative path to parenthood and support others needing to explore this route to build their family. I launched my membership platform Paths to Parenthub in 2020, providing people with both support and connection for donor conception.
I'm also a co-founder of Fertility Matters at Work, a Community Interest Company on a mission to make sure that those experiencing fertility treatment and pregnancy loss in the workplace are better supported by their employer.
I'm most active on instagram @definingmum @paths_to_parenthub and also @fertilitymattersatwork.

It's time to break the silence and open up the dialogue around the topics of miscarriage and pregnancy loss. No more shame, no more taboo, lets ditch it for our children; the ones that will come, the ones that are and the ones that never came to be.
We loved chatting to this beaut. Here is what she had to say:
Hi, I'm Laura, 33 and I’m an online content creator. After only talking about fashion & beauty I decided to open up about my miscarriages after keeping it to myself for a few years and the response was incredible. I’ve since spoken to thousands of women and set up a support website Just Bad Luck. I’ve had 4 miscarriages, 3 years of infertility and was recently diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. Our journey has felt like a battle but we recently did our first round of IVF and had a positive experience.
Here is how you can find Laura:

We loved chatting to 'Notta' and feel that we really put the world to rights with this one. Hold tight for passionate rants, poetry anthology discussions and tears all round. Here is what she had to say...
Hi I'm notafictionalmum, that's right an actual real mum. I just happen to have achieved this through the power of adoption. A route to parenthood you won't see represented nearly equally enough. You won't see it in Hollywood, unless it's a plot line, you won't see us represented in stores, the mere fact I've created the name notafictionalmum should indicate how at times I've felt perceived by society. I'm here to fight the good fight. The 'inclusion revolution' - Founding the UK's first adoption and infertility clothing brand, blogging all things adoption and infertility and campaigning for basic, fundamental rights on for my community.

Ash Ascoli aka @lightafterloss_ joined us from Down Under to share her story with us. Ash is an Australian poet, author and miscarriage and infertility support advocate. She has a miracle four year old daughter, but has since suffered from secondary infertility, having experienced five miscarriages, including two partial molar pregnancies and two unsuccessful rounds of IVF. Ash’s poetry collection, ‘Looking for the Light,’ explores the raw, honest and heartbreaking reality of pregnancy loss; and provides a gentle, hope-filled message that there is light to be found, even in the darkest of times. Divided into two sections: The Darkest Night and The Sun Will Rise, this collection take’s readers on a journey of healing, joy, heartache, grief and self-discovery.

Louise talks to us very openly about her unplanned pregnancy which ended at 6 weeks with emergency surgery. We talk about the conflicting emotions that surround unplanned pregnancies. Unplanned does not mean unwanted. She went on to have another miscarriage after this and felt differently about that loss. Louise shares honest thoughts and feelings with us (most of which she has not told her nearest and dearest) in an attempt to help others feel less alone in their experiences. Thank you Louise, we know this will help so many.

The key is lab-grown diamonds. Yes, lab-grown. Growing them in a lab means no mining, no unjust labour, and no guilt. We believe this sustainable way of producing diamonds could be the future of the jewellery industry – because these diamonds don’t cost the earth – both literally and figuratively. Competitively priced compared to a mined stone, their new Gentle Diamond range, aims to be completely carbon neutral.

Frankie's first baby, Esme, was stillborn in September 2013. Having to break the news to youngsters within the family was made harder by the lack of a children's book that she felt could adequately explain what had happened. She also wanted more guidance as to how she could retain Esme's place in the family in positive and special ways.
She was inspired to write These Precious Little People, and the safe arrival of Esme's two siblings only cemented her desire to provide a resource to families that would do credit to how precious these little people really are. She connected with @gilliangambleartist, an experienced, incredibly talented & generous illustrator, and had the backing of @joeltcp (a wonderful charity that receives all proceeds from sales of the book); both supported Frankie’s dream & helped bring These Precious Little People to life.

It's time to break the silence and open up the dialogue around the topics of miscarriage and pregnancy loss. No more shame, no more taboo, lets ditch it for our children; the ones that will come, the ones that are and the ones that never came to be.
This episode is part 2 of our chat with Jane Moscardini who sadly had to go through a termination for medical reasons. Previously we talked to Jane about her experiences of getting the devastating news and making that impossible decision to end her pregnancy. In part 2 we talk more about the birth itself, planning a funeral and life after loss.

To all the dads who carry a child in their heart but cannot hold them in their arms this Fathers Day. We see you, we've got you xIt was a real pleasure to chat to Sam Woolford for this podcast episode. He shares with us his experience of losing daughter Etta shortly after birth and he talks openly about the complex emotions and how he coped as a man as well as how him and wife Emily coped as a couple.
Sam is a bit of a ledge, although don't tell him we said that, it'll go to his head. Supported by wife Emily, he set up a SANDS football team for bereaved fathers and the work he is doing is fantastic at providing a support network for this who are usually the forgotten ones when it comes to grief after baby loss.

It was a real pleasure to chat to Ruth Corden in our studio a few weeks ago- we laughed a lot. She is an absolute ledge and spoke so openly about the past 8 years of TTC. She talked about her experiences of early miscarriage, childlessness and the battles of being taken seriously by health professionals when fat and infertile.

We discuss our own thoughts, feelings and experiences of out pregnancies following miscarriage. It's a but moany but that's because it's tough and just because its a desperately wanted pregnancy it doesn't make it any easier to cope with, in fact it comes with a whole new host of heightened emotions.

We've been chatting to Laura P in our DM's for some time now and this was our first actual 'meet'. It was great to hear more about her story and interesting to talk through the complex emotions surrounding loss/grief/TTC within a blended family. Modibodi is absorbent underwear that was founded to help people to better manage their periods and incontinence without the need for disposable pads, tampons or liners. It's a more comfortable, dignified solution that is better for our bodies and better for the environment. The new way to period.
After giving birth to her second child, Kristy (the CEO and founder off Modibodi) began to experience bladder leaks, then when her periods returned she realised that the solutions available to her were limited, costly, uncomfortable, not to mention bad for the planet. So, she took matters into her own hands and at her kitchen table began designing, testing and patenting Australia’s first period and leak-proof undies, Modibodi.
Their purpose is to create limitless positive impact on people and our planet. Beyond selling leak-proof apparel that empower people’s lives, they are committed to being sustainable in all we do, helping to end period poverty and supporting health education programs that normalise and open up conversations around our bodies and leaks. To date, they have already donated 25,000 pairs of underwear to women in times of crisis and women in need. They believe the ‘purpose or why’ behind a brand absolutely matters, it can act as a guide to each business decision, and ensure you stay focused on your customers first and foremost.

-Did you know the average person uses 11,000 menstrual disposable products in their lifetime?
-Disposables often contain plastics and can take 500-800 years to breakdown in landfill, longer when they end up in the ocean.
-It's estimated that over 100 billion menstrual disposables end up in landfill annually
-Single use products are not only bad for our planet because they end up in landfill or flushed down our waterways polluting our oceans, but the production process - energy, raw materials, carbon emissions - is detrimental as well.

Our last guest of series 2 is a true TWGGE member and quite frankly she is baby loss royalty! It was an absolute pleasure to meet her and we had so much fun recording. We ended up chatting for so long that we have decided to split it into 2 episodes. Here is part 1 of our chat with Elle Wright of Feathering The Empty Nest!!
We cover a range of topics from pregnancy after loss, parenting after loss, the therapeutic benefits of writing + talking about our experiences and connecting with the baby loss community.

These two are bloody fantastic and we got on like a house on fire. We've invited ourselves to Wales for a double date - they did agree but probably thought we were joking!

This is our first chat with a couple and what a lovely pair they are. These guys have a real ‘passion for conversation’ - that’s their catchphrase but we are borrowing it!
Here is part 1 of our chat with Leila and Rhys of the We Are Heavy Mental Podcast. These two love birds met online and moved in together pretty sharpish after finding out they were expecting a baby. This pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage for which they opted for medical management after the natural management was unsuccessful.
We talked about dealing with the physical aspects of miscarriage and the difficulties with knowing what to do and what to expect. We then begin discussing the early stages of their next pregnancy and this part of their story his concluded in the next episode.

This week we chat to the lovely Charla who created @thegratefulheartsclub. She runs monthly gratitude workshops. Go check her out! She's doing 'grate' things ... (get it?)
Having been on her own journey of infertility and loss she used gratitude to fight her way out of the darkness by embracing what she describes as 'crumbs of joy'.
During the episode we touch on her experiences of loss and infertility. Not only did her daughter Olive tragically die during childbirth, but over a 6 year period she also had missed miscarriages, a diagnosis of unicornuate uterus and endometriosis, as well as 2 ectopic pregnancies, the latter of which involved removal of her only fallopian tube.
She has been through so much yet continues to have such a positive outlook on life, she's quite frankly bloody inspirational! Charla has found her happy ending despite having empty arms and a heavy heart and we are absolutely certain that her story will provide some comfort and hope to others.
We also talk a little about men and their emotions as well as boundaries and of course we have a little natter about the old ugly feels.

In this episode we chat to Jessica about the experience of her miscarriage, recovery and how this has gone on to affect her life. She talks very openly and honestly about her experiences and we could have chatted to her for hours. We also discussed the need for better education and breaking the taboo - you know, one of those episodes where we put the world to rights.

We chatted about the loss of one of her babies due to Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome and the NICU experience with the other twin. She talks about how she used @twinstrust for the bereavement befriending service and has advised that @blisscharity is useful for the NICU information and support. TRIGGER WARNING - secondary infertility/loss
We are firm believers in a few things:
- there is no hierarchy for grief
- all feelings are valid
- just because it might seem easier it doesn't mean it is easy
With that said, if you want to sit this one out we won't be offended. Laura is quite open about the fact that she would have struggled listening to this herself before she had Bertie. For those of you who are still waiting for your first baby... we hear you, we see you and we stand by you.
This episode is just us two rambling about how we feel, just how you guys seem to like it! We chat about society's reaction when someone who is already a mother loses a baby, the shock of losing a baby after having no problems previously and also about knowing when to stop trying and switch your focus on what you DO have rather than what you don't have.
We talk about our hopes, fears, what-ifs and if-only's. Be prepared, it's quite a deep and meaningful one.

She has been through multiple cycles of IVF over the years and spoke so openly and bravely about this loss of her twin boys, Cecil and Wilfred, in the second trimester. Noelle chats to us about the work that she does with grieving mothers and why it is important that these experiences are acknowledged and respected by those around them,

In this episode we chat to Fran about her experiences of the surrogacy journey here in the UK, which we found out is not too dissimilar to Tinder.
All jokes aside , we realise that this is something that many people think about when they travel the paths of infertility and recurrent loss. For most it seems too scary and expensive to explore further so we are here to give you some first hand info from someone who has done it, twice.
You can find out more about her journey on her BLOG or over at @theindendedparent on IG where you will find the link to the surrogacy podcast that she co-hosts. Her personal insta account is @100yearsinthemaking which is mainly about interiors but is probably the best place to contact her directly if you wish.
There was so much to talk about in this episode and we could have discussed so much more. Hopefully you find it interesting and helpful and if you require more info have a listen to The Intended Parent Podcast as that really covers the process from all angles.

We got sponsored!!!!
We got so flustered during the recording of our VERY SIMPLE sponsorship script that we thought we'd celebrate by releasing the outtakes.
We know that you're used to nothing but professionalism and high quality content from us, so this may come as a bit of a shock.... the masks have slipped.
Enjoy and thank you for all your support, beautiful people
Bex & Laura x
In this episode we chat to Emma about her book, 'Where are you Lydie'. She wrote and illustrated the beautiful picture book following the death of her daughter Lydie. It has been produced to act as a guide for young children and parents to explore death and bereavement. We discuss the complex emotions and questions which come to the surface when a child loses a sibling.
This week we put the world to rights with another Bex and hear about her experiences of natural management of miscarriage of her twin pregnancy during lockdown. Believe it or not there is a lot of laughter in this episode and you'll be glad to hear there is just a small amount of singing.
This week we are joined by Noma. She talks openly about her pregnancy and the loss of her son Idris during the second trimester. We also discuss the differences within the African culture when it comes to talking about and dealing with baby loss.
You won’t want to miss this one. We talk about Claire’s experience of having a termination for medical reasons - the last real taboo of baby loss. Claire talks so openly, honestly and emotionally about saying goodbye to her daughter Evelyn. *mascara warning
We talk to the lovely James @the_honest_dad_ about his experiences of baby loss. He and his wife Lauren went through IVF to get their son Leo who sadly died shortly after birth. We chat about how they coped with this and their struggles of pregnancy after loss.
We chat with Hannah about her molar pregnancy along with the treatment she underwent for it. We talk cycling & exercise benefit on mental health.
This week we talk to Katie about Ottilie, her daughter born sleeping and Katie's 'no words' campaign - aiming to break the silence surrounding stillbirth. Tissues handy for this one.
During this episode, we chat to Emma following the new recommendations given by the government on how sonographers should deliver bad news during pregnancy scans. Emma is, herself, not only a member of our gang, but a sonographer.
This is a teary one, but as normal, we mix the emotion with terrible singing and below par comedy.
Laura’s journey to motherhood was far from simple. Following on from the summary of her story during the introductory episode she discusses the latter part in more detail with Bex. They chat about the ‘ugly feelings’, her ectopic pregnancy, the long battle to get answers and the treatment that lead to her eighth pregnancy finally being successful. As always there is no holding back and the banter is on point... or so they like to think.
You’ll find Laura on Instagram and her book It Will Happen is now available to buy!
This week we chat to and fall in love with Becca. She talks us through her miscarriages and the tragic loss of her baby boy, Oliver. This one will make you cry, and we felt that the only way to lighten the mood was to add some jokes about blow jobs and vagisil (not as a combination)
This week we talk missed miscarriage, PTSD and nipple squeezing. It's no wonder it's a little longer than usual...
This week we chat to Lucy (Mother of One) who founded the awesome Rainbow Running Club. We talk about miscarriage, secondary infertility, running, mindfulness and cake!
You’ll find Lucy on Instagram and you can head over to her website for more details about the Rainbow Running Club.
Bex and Laura host their first podcast episode! they introduce themselves and give a bit of detail about how they set up 'The Worst Girl Gang Ever' along with what they hope to achieve and how.
Neither of them are tech savvy, so please forgive any blips...(!!!)
A friendly reminder from Bex & Laura to tune in to their new podcast - The Worst Girl Gang Ever.
