We went to check out our podcast recently only to find a similar podcast had been built by the government for making synthetic food.

Whilst we are in between regular episodes, we thought it would be fun to share this abandoned episode from March 2017, where we review every Hammer film listed in the book The Hammer Story. Chris had bought a new microphone and we were trying to work out how to record two microphones on one laptop. We thought we'd found a solution and used a bit of software we thought was free. Unbeknownst to us it was only free for about 15 minutes, after that it started to insert the word TRIAL into the recording.
We abandoned it but its quite fun so I thought we'd share it.
Welcome to the first episode of 2022. We find that there is room for 1 inside as we go exploring the weird stories of Ealing Studio's horror film Dead of Night. We're no dummies!

Its 2016 so we thought we'd try something a bit different for this episode. We're going back to the 1980's and we're eagerly awaiting the rattle of the letter box as the local paperboy puts the first issue of Scream! comic through the door.
A UK comic in the anthology tradition of Eagle or 2000AD with a horror theme, Scream! ran for 15 weekly issues before the dreaded phrase, "see next issue for exciting news about your comic" was printed and Scream! was no more.
We go through the first 3 issues and decide is it really was scary or not?

We take a look at one of the least known episodes of the 1970's BBC series Dead of Night, Return Flight.
Neither of us had seen it and best of all it was written by Robert Holmes and we may have indulged our inner Doctor Who fan a bit too much.
So is there a real ghost in this story at all or is it just imagined?

The presence of a murderous energy monster from the dawn of time would do little more than liven up the average morning commute between Redhill and London Bridge. However, when you're Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee you travel first class and you don't expect to have to fight for your lives. Their 1971 complaint to the Railway Ombudsman is still unresolved.
Before the creation of the NHS, the only free medical assistance available in Britain was provided by a crazy organist with a waxwork face made to look like it belongs to Vincent Price. Survival rates were very bad. Noted public health experts Chris and Paul have all the details.
Does "colour" have a "u" in it? Brits think yes, Americans think no. Let's settle this once and for all by travelling back to 1965 and asking Boris Karloff. We could also make an adaption of H P Lovecraft's The Colour/Color Out of Space whilst we're there.
Legendary ghost story writer MR James was finally brought to the big screen in 1957 with Jacques Tourneur's Night of the Demon. Based on Casting the Runes, which, somewhat oddly, is not a ghost story. The perfect A Very British Horror subject matter.
