Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Predictably, as soon as people in America began sending “thoughts and prayers” to the victims of Friday’s terrorist attack in New Zealand, leftists like Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez ridiculed them. “What good are your thoughts & prayers when they don’t even keep the pews safe?” What she and other regressives are missing is that prayer is always where we begin in responding to a tragedy, but it’s never where we’re supposed to end. For instance, I would argue that in the mosque massacres the problem is not that there were too many guns in the mosques but too few. When the shooter came in, there was no one armed to shoot back. In fact, the second mosque attack was cut short when an armed citizen began firing at the attacker. The solution to violence against places of worship is not just prayer - it’s prayer and a loaded gun.
