Black Americans are vastly under- and misdiagnosed for mental illnesses. Traumatic experiences are often seen as "norms" for most Black Americans. Being that both of these things are true, I Am Greater Than… was created to fill the void and help facilitate the healing needed for both, Black men and women. The mission of IAGT is to combat the stigma against mental health and traumatic experiences through encouragement, empowerment, education, and experiences. By partnering with local and regional mental health and trauma professionals for events, IAGT aims to create safe spaces for Black men and women that empower honest and healing conversations, bring awareness to available resources, debunk myths, and provide a way forward to living a "whole" life. IAGT also provides encouragement, education, and practical application through blogging and regularly engaging via social media.
