Chip shares a message that may cause you to rethink your perspective on some of the relationships in your life. Jesus said we’re to love our enemies - but how far do you take that? Join Chip for this provocative look at this important command from scripture, and practical help for how to actually make that happen.

Important review: The Romans 12 Christian

  1. The commands of Romans 12 are our faith response to Romans chapters 1-11 of God’s grace and mercy toward us.
  2. R12 Christians focus on RELATIONSHIPS not rules or religious activity.
  3. R12 Christians highest aim is LOVE.

There's a way to experience real life change, and it isn’t about trying harder; it’s about a completely new way of thinking.

Negative Command:Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world…”

  • Passive voice
  • Imperative
  • Present tense

Translation: “Stop allowing yourselves to be molded by the influences and pressures of this present world system.”

Application: We are to be SEPARATE from the world’s values. -1 Jn. 2:15-17

Summary: The world’s system seeks to SEDUCE us from our love for Christ by PLEASURE, POSSESSIONS, and POSITION.

Positive Command: “…but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

  • Passive voice
  • Imperative
  • Present tense

Translation: “But allow God to completely change your inward thinking and outward behavior by cooperating wholeheartedly moment-by-moment with the Spirit’s renewing process.”

Application: Are you shaped more by the WORLD or the WORD? -Mat. 4:4; 2 Cor. 3:18

The means of transformation:“…by the renewing of your mind.”

  • Renewing your mind is a continual REFOCUS of a Romans 12:1 perspective.
  • Renewing your mind will always involve a BATTLE.
  • Renewing your mind is a SUPERNATURAL work of the Spirit.

Practical methods for “Renewing Your Mind”

  1. HEARINGGod’s Word -Rom. 10:17
  2. Use your TIME wisely. Be in the Word
  3. READ God’s Word -Rev. 1:3
  4. STUDY God’s Word -2 Tim. 2:15
  5. MEMORIZEGod’s Word -Psa. 119:9,11
  6. MEDITATEon God’s Word -Jos. 1:8

A tool for transformation: The “2PROAPT” Method

What does living like a Christian really mean? How do the day-to-day, rubber meets the road, "what am I supposed to do now?" questions get answered when circumstances leave an honest person really struggling? Chip shares that God has a dream for you - yes, you - and as incredible as that idea sounds, Chip explains what that means.

5 Key Relationships:

  1. Relationship with God: SURRENDERED to God -Romans 12:1
  2. Relationship with the world: SEPARATE from the World -Romans 12:2
  3. Relationship with yourself: SOBER in Self-Assessment -Romans 12:3-8
  4. Relationship with believers: SERVING in Love -Romans 12:9-13
  5. Relationship with nonbelievers: SUPERNATURALLY Responding to Evil with Good -Romans 12:14-21

Warning – Romans 12 is not a “try-hard” moral code to live up to, but a faith response to what God has already done for us.

  • Romans 1-3: SIN - Our problem that separates us from God.
  • Romans 4-5: SALVATION - God’s solution in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
  • Romans 6-8: SANCTIFICATION - Living your new life in God’s power and growing progressively in Christ-likeness.
  • Romans 9-11: SACRIFICE - Living in confidence because God is in control and keeps all His promises…

Stop the small talk. Chip shares how to move beyond logistics to have genuine heart-to-heart conversations with your spouse starting today.

How to effectively communicate:

I. The command – Put on the proper attire -Colossians 3:12

  1. COMPASSION – Empathy to action vs. cynical -Matthew 9:36
  2. KINDNESS – Whatever is helpful, beneficial vs. critical -Jeremiah 9:23-24, John 4
  3. HUMILITY – Their needs first, posture of a servant -Philippians 2:5-11
  4. GENTLENESS – Strength under control, your emotions -Matthew 11:28-30
  5. PATIENCE – Endure with a good attitude -2 Peter 3:8-9

II. Why the “clothing” metaphor is crucial to biblical communication

  1. “Old clothes” must be taken off. -Colossians 3:8-9
  2. The new self requires “new clothes”. -Colossians 3:10-11

The Principle: Who we are determines how we “dress” (communicate from the heart)

III. The problem:

  • We have settled for techniques and self-help tools to change how we speak, and to modify our emotions and behaviors to improve compatibility; rather than focusing on the deep-rooted transformation of our hearts which empowers us to give the life-giving love of Christ to our mates.

IV. The solution is threefold:

  1. Don’t buy the old lies*

  2. I am what I have: Possessions

  3. I am what I accomplish: Performance
  4. I am what others think of me: Popularity

  5. Dress appropriately for your mate

  6. A – AFFIRMATION

  7. W – WARMTH
  8. E – ENCOURAGEMENT

  9. Have at least 2 “couples conferences” per week**

  10. What are you concerned about?

  11. What do you wish?
  12. What are you willing to do?

Do you find yourself living in a marriage full of unspoken tension? You’re polite and all, but there’s no honest sharing or compassion? In this final program of the series, Chip shares a tool that walks you step-by-step, through a communication process that’ll free you from the past, free you from the guilt, and free you from the history that’s holding your relationship hostage.

Three major reasons we have shame:

  1. A theological reason – we ALL have shame.
  2. Shame from things DONE to us.
  3. Shame of things that we DO.

Three natural responses:

  1. To HIDE.
  2. To NUMB the pain.
  3. To COMPENSATE.

John 21:1-19

Principles:

  1. Jesus MEETS us where we are.
  2. Jesus gently DEMANDS that we face the truth about ourselves.
  3. Jesus AFFIRMS our value and our worthiness by commissioning us to service.

Practical implications:

  1. You can’t forgive your mate until you have RECEIVED both forgiveness and restoration. -Ephesians 4:32
  2. EXPERIENCE God’s forgiveness and restoration.
  3. Freely GIVE what you have received.

Tools for transformation:

D – DEFINE the issue clearly.

E – ENTER the pain and hurt.

F – Ask for FORGIVENESS.

U – UNDERSTAND the process.

  • Phase 1: Forgive
  • Phase 2: Forgiving
  • Phase 3: Forgiven

SSET things right between you.

  • Own your responsibility
  • Confess: “I was wrong.”
  • Ask: “Will you forgive me?”
  • Answer: “Yes, I forgive you.”

E – ESTABLISH a specific game plan to move forward.

How do you feel when you’ve tried everything you know, and your attempts to show love to your spouse just don’t seem to be making any difference at all? Or maybe you’re on the flip-side and you’re waiting for the day when your spouse finally does something that makes you feel like they really care. In this program, Chip talks about how to love in a way that actually connects.

How do you keep love alive?

  • Ephesians 5:25-33
  • Very rarely, do we take how Jesus loves the Church and use that as our model for how we are to love one another in marriage.
  • Your marriage is not just about your PERSONAL fulfillment. -John 13:1-17, 33-35
  • Other than the Church of Jesus Christ, your relationship with your mate is the single most powerful testimony of the reality of God.

Principles:

  1. Love is not a FEELING.
  2. Love is SERVING. -Philippians 2:3-4
  3. Love must be RECEIVED.
  4. Love is UNCONDITIONAL.

Practical Implications:

  1. Love is a CHOICE.
  2. Love MEETS the NEEDS of the one loved.
  3. Love requires extreme HUMILITY and SECURITY.

Learn the five languages of love

  • Words of affirmation
  • Quality time
  • Receiving gifts
  • Acts of service
  • Physical touch

Two clues as to what your love language is:

  • What bothers you the most?
  • What do you ask for the most?

In our pursuit of greatness in God's eyes, we tend to imagine following Jesus into ever-increasing, upward levels of maturity. In this program, Chip poses the fascinating premise that we actually follow Jesus, descending into greatness.

The quest for greatness = UNIVERSAL!

How do we measure greatness?

  • Power = Who and what we control
  • Possessions = What and how much we own
  • Position = Our rank in the pecking order
  • Prestige = Who and how many “look up” to us
  • Productivity = What and how much we accomplish

How do we obtain greatness?

  • Two pathways to greatness:
  • ASCENDING
  • DESCENDING
  • True greatness defined = Philippians 2:3-4

How do you experience true greatness?

  • One word = HUMILITY
  • Humility is the channel through which the supernatural power of God’s love flows to heal our deepest hurts and restore our most important relationships.

Following Jesus into greatness - How to be authentically humble:

  1. Humility flows from a specific “mindset”. -Philippians 2:5
  2. We achieve true greatness when we embrace Christ’s “mindset” toward power and possessions. -Philippians 2:6
  3. We become truly great when we embrace Christ’s “mindset” toward position and prestige. -Philippians 2:7
  4. We become truly great when we embrace Christ’s “mindset” toward productivity. -Philippians 2:8
  5. We experience the REWARD of true greatness when we follow Christ’s example of servanthood. -Philippians 2:9-11

Conclusion: God wants you to be great!

  • The acid test of greatness = LOVE
  • The road to greatness = HUMILITY
  • The opportunity for greatness = SERVING

How do you overcome the blues? Is there a way to take those dreary, depressing feelings and drive them from your mind and heart? Find out by joining Chip, as he teaches: “How to Overcome Boredom and the Blues.”

Introduction: “I was looking for life in all the wrong places.”

  • What is boredom?
  • Why are we bored?
  • Why do “the blues” and boredom go hand-in-hand?
  • Could “boredom” be a gift in disguise?

God’s answer to boredom = Authentic worship

What is Authentic Worship?

  • Definition – Worship is our response to God for who He is and what He has done.
  • Romans 12:1
  • Summary – Worship is the complete and total giving of ourselves for that which we believe has ULTIMATE PURPOSE and will provide the GREATEST REWARD.

3 Principles for authentic worship:

  1. Authentic worship can happen ANYWHERE. -John 4:21-22
  2. Authentic worship flows from the HEART. -John 4:23
  3. Authentic worship is rooted in an ACCURATE view of God and of ourselves. -John 4: 24

How can you experience greater intimacy in worship?

  • Private worship = A.C.T.S.
  • Public worship = The 3 “P’s”

Conclusion: Worship is not a service you come to or an activity you practice; worship is a life-focus, an expression of your deepest longings, passions, and devotion to whom or what you love the most.

God wants to do something great in your life. He wants to bless you; He wants to prosper you. But if that is going to occur, He needs something from you. Chip shows us what it is that unleashes God’s supernatural power in our lives.

The pathway to breakthrough involves:

  1. The SOVEREIGN work of God in the world. -Job 42:2
  2. The SOVEREIGN work of God in His people.
  3. The SOVEREIGN work of God through His people.

Your personal pathway to breakthrough

  • Action step: Repent and believe in the “Good News”. -Mark 1:15
  • Action step: Make room in your life to receive God’s breakthrough! -James 4:7-10

Question: How do we repent and “make room” for God’s supernatural power and blessing?

Answer:

  • SUBMIT therefore to God. -James 4:7a

Want more joy and a closer walk with God? Chip shares the game plan for personal satisfaction and intimacy with Him.

Breakthrough Concept #2: God owns everything. I am His money manager.

The “Oikonomia” Principle: All that we are, and all that we have belongs to God and has been temporarily entrusted to us to manage according to His wishes. -1 Cor. 4:1-2

The Setting: Correction of the Pharisees and instruction of His disciples concerning wealth.

The Story: Luke 16:1-11

  • Mismanagement occurs and dismissal soon follows.
  • Two options are considered and a third is taken.
  • A commendation by the owner, a good lesson from a bad example, “he was shrewd.”

The Teaching: Faithfulness with material wealth is a prerequisite to being entrusted with spiritual wealth and rewards.

The Test: Two basic financial practices that demonstrate God is our #1 priority.

  1. Generous stewards give the FIRST and BEST to God. -Pr. 3:9-10

  2. Generous stewards give REGULARLY and SYSTEMATICALLY. -1 Cor. 16:2

Three questions wise stewards regularly ask

  1. Am I using the money entrusted to me in accordance with the Owner’s wishes?

  2. Am I carefully keeping account of where all the Owner’s funds are going?

  3. Am I becoming “best friends” with the “Owner” by the privilege and opportunity of managing His resources?

  • Old Testament roots -Ex 3:5-6; Is 6:1-8
  • Biblical profiles: Moses, Stephen

Chip explains how to teach children to work "unto the Lord." He challenges parents: Don't rob kids of growth. Teach responsibility, chores, timeliness, and finishing jobs.

Transferable Concept #2: Teach them to WORK unto the Lord.

A theology of work:

  • Work is a CALLING, not a job
  • All work is SACRED. -1 Cr. 10:31
  • Our work is to flow from God’s unique design and PURPOSE for our lives. -Ep. 2:10, 1 Cr. 15:10
  • Old Testament roots: Gen. 2:15
  • Biblical profiles: Adam, Paul
  • New Testament command: Col. 3:23

How to help them discover God's calling for their lives. Ask…

  1. What's your unique S.H.A.P.E.?

  2. Spiritual gifts

  3. Heart
  4. Aptitude
  5. Personality
  6. Experience

  7. Encourage them to get honest, WISE COUNSEL about who you are, where you fit, and how to move forward. -Pr. 24:6

  8. Help them be willing to move out of their COMFORT ZONE to fulfill their divine purpose. -Hb. 11:6

James, the leader in Jerusalem, faced a world turned upside down. His message offers God's answer and resource for anyone facing crisis today.

The principle = “Don’t ask why, ask what.”

Three “what” questions survivors ask:

  1. What can I control when my world falls apart?

  2. What must I do to make it through today?

  3. What hope do I have for tomorrow?

The answer = God’s sovereignty + goodness = He will take my worst circumstances and use them for my best if I will trust Him and not bail out of His spiritual maturity process.

I. The problem: sometimes we get “stuck” in our pain.

II. The solution: God promises help for those who are “stuck.” -Jas. 1:5-8

  • God’s offer = supernatural WISDOM
  • Our responsibility = to ASK
  • God’s attitude when we come = OPEN & GENEROUS

III. The one condition: We receive God’s wisdom only when we “ask in faith, without any doubting.”

Conclusion: Four things you must do to get unstuck

  1. Admit you’re stuck

  2. Admit you can’t do it on your own

  3. Ask God for supernatural wisdom

  4. Be willing to do whatever God’s wisdom demands of you

Deadlines, flight delays, traffic jams, crying babies - what do all these have in common? Well, for most of us these situations cause us stress. We are surrounded by stressful events every day! How do we keep the chaos of life from stressing us out? Chip clarifies God’s solution for stopping stress BEFORE it starts.

Introduction: AQ = (E + P) x O426

  • Anger Quotient = (Environment + Perspective) x Obedience to Ephesians 4:26

I. Environment

Minimize Stress

  1. Eliminate hurry
  2. Downsize expectations
  3. Learn to say no
  4. Admit mistakes and imperfections
  5. Laugh more—don’t take life or yourself too seriously
  6. Take care of yourself
  7. Know what triggers your anger - HALT: Stop when you’re hungry, angry, lonely, or tired

II. Perspective

Maximize God

  1. Get right with God: believe in Him, confess your sins, forgive others. -James 4:7-8
  2. Experience God’s unconditional love and acceptance. -Zephaniah 3:17
  3. Accept who God made you to be. -Psalm 139:13-16
  4. Trust God and His sovereignty—let Him be in control. -Isaiah 40:25-28
  5. Be merciful. -Luke 6:35-36
  6. Pray about everything. -Philippians 4:6-7

What can turn a normal rational person into an out of control monster - destroying relationships, abusing children, spewing threats, and alienating lifelong friends? Join Chip as he reveals the source of that devastating power, and how to keep it under control.

Introduction: James 1:19-20

A look at anger from God’s perspective:

  • Definition:Anger is neither good nor bad; it is a “charged,” morally neutral, emotional response of protective preservation.
  • Positively – It can be a healthy emotion that motivates us to correct attitudes, behaviors, or injustices that we perceive to be wrong. -Eph 4:26-27
  • Negatively – It can be an unhealthy and destructive emotional response to protect us from (real or perceived) hurt, frustration, or personal attack. -Pro. 19:19; 22:24; 29:22

Anger wears many masks:We EXPRESS our ANGER in such a wide variety of ways that many people assume anger is not an issue in their life.

  • Spewers: Anger is necessary – They’re exploding or calculating time bombs
  • Stuffers: Anger is wrong – They deny and avoid OR pretend and ignore
  • Leakers: Showing anger is wrong – They’re passive-aggressive

Chip relates the most fearful encounter with demons he ever faced and how you can prepare yourself to do battle with the Enemy.

Four facts you need to know

  1. God has objectively defeated Satan. He has delivered us from sin’s penalty and power. In the interim, we are involved in guerilla warfare with demonic forces.
  2. As believers, we have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of light with all the rights, privileges, and position a child of God entails.
  3. The spiritual battle involves a responsibility to “put on” the spiritual protection God has provided. We can resist the enemy’s attempts to deceive, accuse, and cast doubt when we stand firm.
  4. The great majority of spiritual warfare need never go beyond the regular practice of living out our position in Christ by faith. Our practice of the spiritual armor protects us from Satan’s attempts and minimizes any impact by the enemy.

There are times however, when we must move beyond “standing firm” and ENGAGE the enemy in actual combat

  • When taking significant steps of faith for spiritual growth
  • When invading enemy territory
  • When exposing him for who he really is
  • When we repent and make a “clean break” with the world, a long-held sin pattern, or an unholy relationship
  • When God is preparing us for a “great work” for His glory

How to engage the enemy and win:

  1. Taking up the shield of FAITH
  2. Take the helmet of SALVATION
  3. Take the sword of the SPIRIT

Summary: How to engage the enemy in spiritual warfare

  1. Prerequisite is a HEALTHY spiritual life
  2. Understand your POSITION in Christ
  3. DISCERN when demonic influence may be the cause
  4. Claim God’s promises OUT LOUD
  5. Take our authority and position in Christ to COMMAND demonic forces to cease their activity and depart

Demons, Satan, and the powers of darkness are real and at work. Do you know how to recognize and combat them? Chip begins "The Invisible War" with an overview of who the Enemy is and how they operate.

  • GENERAL Command (Eph. 6:10) “Allow yourself to be continually strengthened by the power already made available to you in your new position and relationship with Christ.” It is the power that raised Christ from the dead and now dwells in you.
  • SPECIFIC Command (Eph. 6:11) How? By continually and repeatedly putting on, at specific points in time, the spiritual protection God has provided for you... for the express purpose of holding on to your position in Christ as you are bombarded by Satanic strategies designed to destroy you and/or render you ineffective in Kingdom pursuits.
  • The REASON for Commands (Eph. 6:12) It’s because our real struggle is not against physical/material adversaries, but against a hierarchy of demonic forces doing battle in the spiritual realm.

Five basic truths about spiritual warfare:

  1. There is an INVISIBLE world that is just as real as the visible world.
  2. We are involved in an invisible WAR, a cosmic conflict that has eternal implications.
  3. Our foe is FORMIDABLE and his goal is to destroy us and discredit the cause of Christ.
  4. We must RESPECT our foe, but not FEAR him – become acutely aware of his “methods,” but not be preoccupied by them.
  5. As believers in Christ, we do not fight “for” victory, we fight “FROM” victory. In Christ’s power we are invincible!

Summary:

  1. Satan is a DEFEATED foe. -Jn 12:31
  2. Jesus DESTROYED the work of the devil. -Col 2:14-15
  3. We are VICTORS in Christ. -1 Cor 15:55-58
  4. We have the POWER and resources to resist Satan and demonic attacks. -1 Jn 4:4
  5. We must LEARN how to put on the “full armor of God” to experience in daily living the victory we already possess. -Eph 6:13-17

  • Hold Firm with Grace: Maintain your biblical convictions with compassion, establishing loving boundaries without compromising truth.
  • Build a Culture of Conversation: Intentionally create a home where it’s safe to discuss any topic before it becomes a crisis.
  • Know the "Why": Be ready to explain the goodness and purpose behind God's design, not just the rules.

If you long to strengthen the relationships with your children and increase the joy in your parenting journey, the first step begins here.

Four principles for positive parenting

  1. Effective parenting begins with positive CLEAR-CUT OBJECTIVES! -Ephesians 6:4

Have you ever forgiven someone who hurt you, only to have resentful feelings begin to fester a short time later? How does that scenario change when it is your spouse who caused you pain? In this program, Chip explains why forgiveness is a powerful skill couples need to harness. Learn about the dangers of unresolved conflict in relationships and the freedom that comes when you genuinely say, “I forgive you.”

Introduction:

  • The foundation of a great family begins with a deep, intimate marriage.

Three skills for a great marriage:

  • Skill #1: FORGIVING
  • Skill #2: COMMUNICATION
  • Skill #3: RESOLVING CONFLICT

Forgiveness – What it’s not and what it is:

  • Forgiveness is NOT a quick fix or an excuse to be a “doormat” by repeatedly accepting hurtful behavior without addressing the root issues
  • Forgiveness IS a spiritual discipline that involves three distinct parts:
  • It’s a DECISION
  • It’s a PROCESS
  • It actually is ACCOMPLISHED

The parable of the unforgiving servant:

  • Matthew 18:21-35

Three-part method for forgiveness:

  1. Act: Choose to forgive.
  2. Process: Actively pray and bless the person with your words and actions.
  3. Accomplished: The true test of forgiveness is when you can genuinely rejoice in the other person’s success and well-being.

There is no shortage of great podcasts, popular books, and helpful resources to help you strengthen your marriage. But in this program, Chip explains that there’s one simple discipline that, if you commit to it, you will transform your relationship. Listen in to learn what this fundamental habit is and the steps you can follow to make it a daily priority in your life.

Introduction:

God’s original design:

  • Marriage was created as a sacred stewardship to reflect the unity and love of the Trinity.

Satan’s agenda:

  • To destroy or pervert marriage by telling lies that make it self-centered

Foundational Marriage Truths

Foundational truth #1:

  • In my own strength, I am INCAPABLE of being the husband of wife God calls me to be. Therefore, my first priority for a successful marriage is my own vibrant DAILY walk with God. By His Word and His Spirit in community with fellow believers God will give me ALL I need to become a loving and godly husband or wife.

Key verses:

  • 2 Peter 1:3-4
  • Galatians 2:20

The BIO Acronym:

  • B: Before God Daily
  • I: In community
  • O: On mission

Foundational truth #2:

  • I will CHOOSE to love my mate by God’s power and grace in all circumstances. Love is giving another person what they NEED the most, when they DESERVE it the least, at great PERSONAL COST.

Key verse:

  • 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

The Apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians that a Christian’s battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of darkness. Join us as Chip exposes powerful lies that have misled believers for centuries and are undermining the institution of marriage.

The command: Walk differently

  • Walking worthy of your CALLING -Ephesians 4:1, 17
  • Walking in LOVE, like Christ -Ephesians 5:2
  • Walking as children of LIGHT -Ephesians 5:8
  • Walking not as unwise, but as WISE -Ephesians 5:15

How?

  • By letting your relationship with God—with Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit—be the one central, most important thing that focuses your mind around the truth of how to live. -Ephesians 5:15-20
  • By applying the instructions for the Spirit-filled life to the family structure. -Ephesians 5:21-6:4

The ultimate context:

  • The armor of God is detailed immediately after family instructions to frame the family as a primary spiritual battlefield for fighting lies. -Ephesians 6:10-18

Fighting for your family

  • Identify lies and understand where they come from and what they do.
  • Understand that lies make it impossible for children to grow up in a safe, stable, supportive environment where they feel valued, encouraged, and supported.
  • Recognize that the most dangerous lies are the ones that you believe to the point where you think it’s good.

The family as a witness

  • Few things will be more important to show the world the love of Christ than marriages that reflect Jesus and His Church.
  • Our mission: To show the world that there is hope by identifying lies in our families and culture, and building Spirit-powered homes that glorify God.

Could there ever be too much kindness, too much forgiveness, too much love? When was the last time you heard someone say, "Love? I'm good. I really don't need any more."? God's love is infinite. God's love is matchless. God's love is perfect. Join Chip as he defines God's love and what it means.

Introduction - Three facts about love

Fact #1: It’s a universal need - Everyone is looking for love!

Fact #2: There’s a universal solution - God loves all people everywhere and longs to meet the deepest needs of every heart for love!

Fact #3: There’s a tragic disconnection - Even so, most people remain starved for love… for three primary reasons:

  1. They don’t know God loves them.
  2. They know of God’s love, but have not received it.
  3. They have received God’s love, but don’t know how to experience it in daily life.

Love is giving another person what they need the most, when they deserve it the least, at great personal cost.

God reveals His love to us through:

  • CREATION - He made you for Himself.
  • PROVIDENCE - He shows His kindness to all.
  • INCARNATION - He is proactively pursuing you.
  • DISCIPLINES - He chastises us to protect us from self-destructive behavior.
  • INDWELLING - He supernaturally pours His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.
  • JESUS – The Second Person of the Trinity demonstrated the nature of God’s love for us.

How must we respond to God’s love?

  1. We must RECEIVE IT by faith in our hearts. -John 3:16, 1:12
  2. We must BELIEVE IT by faith in our minds. -1 John 4:13-16, Romans 8:38-39
  3. We must SHARE IT by faith through our choices and decisions. -1 John 3:18

God is holy, and He wants us to be holy, but how do we do that? What’s it really look like to be holy? Do we have to give up everything fun? Do we have to be serious 24/7 and keep a perfect, holy checklist? Join Chip for the surprising answer.

Defining the Holiness of God:

  • “We know nothing like the divine holiness. It stands apart, unique, unapproachable, incomprehensible and unattainable. The natural man is blind to it. He may fear God’s power and admire His wisdom, but His holiness he cannot even imagine.” -A. W. Tozer, Knowledge of the Holy

How does God reveal His holiness to us?

  • Through SUPERNATURAL ENCOUNTERS
  • Through PLACES
  • Through the LAW
  • Through the PROPHETS
  • Through His WRATH and JUDGMENT
  • Through HisSON
  • Through His PEOPLE

God’s holiness raises two important questions:

  1. If God is so holy that He cannot even gaze at sin, how can sinful people like us have a relationship with Him? -Romans 5:6-10
  2. If trusting in Christ’s work on the cross blots out our sin before God and we are holy in His sight, why do we keep on sinning?
  3. Justification: Positional holiness - Point-in-time status with God
  4. Sanctification: Progressive holiness - Ongoing improvement
  5. Glorification: Permanent holiness - We are finally like Him

How must we respond to the holiness of God?

  • It’s a COMMITMENT we make. -Hebrews 12:14
  • It’s a COMMAND we obey. -1 Peter 1:13-16, Hebrew 13:4

Where do you find security and identity? In this program, Chip says – ‘If it’s in your spouse.. your relationship is in trouble!’ He’ll explain why couples who look to one another for wholeness won’t survive. Join us as we discover how to develop a healthy view of ourselves and the impact it can have on our marriages.

Main PointsGreat marriages are characterized by couples who individually find their identity in Christ and don’t expect their spouses to meet all their personal, spiritual, relational, and emotional needs.* Translation = We are commanded by Jesus to “Love our neighbors as ourselves.” If we don’t love ourselves in a healthy and non-narcissistic way, we will continually ask of our spouses what they can never deliver. --Matthew 22:37-39 * The principle = An accurate self-perception demands we know who we are and whose we are. --1 John 3:1

Developing a healthy relationship with yourself requires:* Getting a glimpseof your beginning. --Psalm 139:13-16 * Doing an honest self-assessment. --Romans 12:3 * Believing who God says you are. --Ephesians 1:3-14

What do we need to believe about God’s character to develop a healthy relationship with ourselves?* His wisdom. --Romans 11:33-36 * His gentleness. --Matthew 11:28-30

Conclusion: So often we want our marriage to change by what we think our mate needs to do; when in reality a healthy, self-love for who we are and whose we are frees us from demanding what our mates can never supply.Broadcast Resource* Download Free MP3 * Message Notes

“Courage is fear holding on for one more minute.” That is a great quote! But when fear takes hold, we often need more than just words of encouragement. Join Chip as he uncovers the biblical path to conquering fear, revealing how God alone provides true hope, security, and lasting protection. Don’t let fear dictate your life—embrace the incredible strength that faith in Jesus can provide!

Main PointsDeclarative statement: I will not fear.Psalm 27:1-3

  • You can feel afraid – that’s just an emotion – and choose not to respond to that feeling, but to act instead in a way that makes a difference, that is brave.
  • That word when we feel afraid and, yet, we act in the confidence of God, that’s called courage.

Psalm 27:4-6* The source of David’s confidence, despite danger, war, and odds was focus and passion. * David’s intimate knowledge of God’s character flowed from his personal worship and it transformed his perspective.

Psalm 27:7-10* David prays specifically and practically. * David’s basis: 1. I want You to answer me because when You told me what to do, I was obedient in the past. | 2. Please don’t forsake me and turn me away. | 3. Lord, I want you to know that if You don’t help, no one else will either.

Psalm 27:11-12* David’s prayer was two-fold: Don’t just deliver me, but bring me into a deeper relationship with You.

Psalm 27:13-14* David was tempted to be afraid, but he declared, “I will not fear,” because the Lord was his light and deliverer. * Wait = Where is your hope? Where is your confidence?

Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is acting in spite of your fear.Broadcast Resource* Download Free MP3 * Message Notes

Are you ready to cultivate a faith that can weather life's most significant storms? Chip kicks off his series in this program as he dives into eight transformative Psalms that can empower your faith and help you conquer your fears. Do not miss this opportunity to discover how to harness strength through God's Word, break free from anxiety, and boldly face whatever challenges come your way.

Main PointsThree times God says, “Be strong and courageous”:1. God makes a promise that His people will inherit the land. – A promised future 2. God gives Joshua the resource that will give him power. – The Book of the Law 3. God says, “I will be with you.” – My presence

Two ways/paths to live:1. God's way. --Psalm 1:1-3 2. The world's way. --Psalm 1:4-6

Verse 1: How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!Three negatives in verse 1:

  1. This person doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked.
  2. This person doesn’t stand in the path of sinners. --Proverbs 13:20
  3. This person does not sit in the seat of scoffers.

Verse 2: “But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.”* Bible reading: Though it may start as a duty, with help and discipline, it becomes a delight as you learn. * Meditation: To engraft truth into your heart and life so you begin to think God's thoughts and look at the world through His perspective, seeing fears and challenges in light of His promises and presence.

Verse 3: He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.* In a world where people are trying to overcome their fear, I will choose to thrive. * God assures that following His path will produce a life of blessings and success over time.

Verses 4-6: The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.* The wicked, like worthless chaff separated from wheat, will be blown away and rejected in judgment. * God, the all-knowing creator, promises to shepherd those who reject the world's messages and say "yes" to Him through His Word, guiding them through mistakes as they seek a righteous life.

Amidst a wave of negativity and despair regarding how to reach today’s youth with the gospel, this program offers a refreshing perspective. Chip and author Jennie Allen will inspire listeners to take a more proactive approach, urging everyone to engage in the vital work of discipling the next generation. Rather than fostering criticism, they will invite you to become part of the solution and make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people.

Main PointsKey Takeaways:* Gen Z is open to the gospel: Despite the trends of young people leaving the church, Jennie has witnessed firsthand their hunger for hope and willingness to embrace Jesus. * Confession and repentance are powerful: Jennie shares how confession breaks down barriers and allows people to experience true freedom and receive the gospel. * The Church's role in discipleship: Events like IF:Gathering and Unite can introduce people to Christ, but the local church plays a vital role in providing ongoing discipleship and spiritual formation for the next generation. * Discipleship is more than programs: True discipleship involves intentional relationships, modeling a godly life, and guiding young people in their understanding of the Bible.

Highlights:* Jennie's experience leading a revival in a maximum-security women's prison and seeing a radical transformation in the inmates' lives. * The importance of addressing shame and offering grace to a generation struggling with various challenges. * The power of confession to break strongholds and prepare hearts for the gospel. * The Unite ministry and its impact on secular college campuses, with thousands of students attending events and many making decisions for Christ. * The need for Christians to be actively involved in discipling young people through mentoring, sharing their faith journey, and providing biblical guidance.

Call to Action:* Get involved in discipleship: Every Christian has a responsibility to invest in the lives of young people and help them grow in their faith. * Support ministries like IF:Gathering and Unite: These organizations are effectively reaching the next generation with the gospel. * Pray for the next generation: Pray that they would come to know Jesus and be equipped to live out their faith in a changing world.

to do IMPOSSIBLE things…

through IMPROBABLE people…

to IMPART exceeding grace…

to UNDESERVING recipients.

Practice: Dream Great Dreams!

I. How does God do it?* He invites ordinary people to dream something so great that it would be impossible if God did not do it.

The basis of sanctified dreaming:1. God is able. --Jeremiah 32:17; Luke 1:37 2. God is desirous. --1 Corinthians 2:9 3. God has promised. --Psalm 37:4 4. God invites us. --Psalm 2:8; John 14:12-14

There’s no shortage of expert advice on what the world needs now - opinions abound and division increases. The question is: What would Jesus have us hear in the midst of the confusion and chaos? In this program, Chip goes to the book of Matthew for the answer.

Main PointsOverview of Matthew 5:* 3-12: The characteristics of His true followers and their promised rewards * 13-16: Salt and light: The movement’s strategy * 17-20: Relationship of this new teaching to the Law of Moses

Jesus' Warnings - 4 "movement killers"1. Key issue = motives - Who am I seeking to please? 2. Key issue = materialism - Whose agenda am I seeking to accomplish? 3. Key issue = misapplication - Where am I mis-applying Jesus' teaching? 4. Key issue = misperception

Have I entered through the narrow gate and does my life reflect one who is...* Poor in spirit? * Mourns? * Meek? * Hungering & thirsting for righteousness? * Merciful? * Pure in heart? * A peacemaker? * Persecuted because of righteousness?

Are you in a painful, confusing season of life right now? Maybe you’ve lost your job, have a conflict with a spouse or a child, or just received a sudden diagnosis. Whatever it is, do you wish there was a biblical guide to respond to adversity? In this program, Chip will share three questions you need to ask when challenges come. Discover how these prompts will get you through the most trying experiences and grow your faith.

Main PointsThree Questions to consider in times of adversity:1. How does Jesus want to use this adversity in your life for good? 2. How does Satan want to use this adversity for your downfall? 3. How can Satan turn a God-allowed trial into a lethal temptation?

Satan is a master in deception; his MO is built on lies about:1. God 2. You 3. The future 4. Your faith

Dark cloud “raining” down adversities:

Satan’s filter (deception):* Reaction: fear, overwhelmed, unfairness, where is God? * Leads to attitudes of: anger, despair, abandonment * End in: self-medicating, over-spending, acting out, addiction, isolation, etc.

God’s filter (truth):* You’re not alone * It’s intended for your good * Attitude: big step of faith to “consider it all joy” * Action: don’t give up (persevere)

Has the Church been clinging to outdated standards regarding those in the gay and lesbian community? Or have Christians gone too far in accepting and affirming these lifestyles? In this program, Chip interviews prominent author and apologist Rebecca McLaughlin about this topic. They discuss some of the popular claims society makes about Scripture and sexuality against what the Bible actually says.

Main PointsIntroduction and Work:* Rebecca McLaughlin is a best-selling author and PhD from Cambridge, known for her work on apologetics and controversial Church issues. * Her latest book is Does the Bible Affirm Same-Sex Relationships?

Faith Journey and Challenges:* Grew up in a church-going family in London and has been a follower of Jesus since childhood. * Faced challenges to her Christian beliefs during her academic journey, especially on sexual ethics. * Experienced same-sex attraction from an early age, openly discussed in her mid-thirties.

Biblical Perspective and Sexual Ethics:* Argues the Bible does not support same-sex sexual relationships, linking marriage and sexuality to the gospel message. * Emphasizes the importance of addressing sexual ethics for understanding Christian teachings. * Points out the New Testament’s serious stance on sexual immorality and the symbolic nature of marriage in the Bible.

Countering Common Claims:* Rebecca argues that the Bible offers an inclusive vision of love among believers, distinct from romantic or sexual love. * She contrasts the emotional appeal of same-sex relationships with the biblical command for non-sexual, brotherly/sisterly love.

Christian Love and Relationships:* Emphasizes that Christian love is deeply committed and inclusive, but not sexual. * Highlights the significance of Christian fellowship as a fulfilling relational aspect of faith.

Understanding Biblical Sexual Ethics:* Counters the belief that the Bible only prohibits exploitative relationships by examining biblical language and context. * Explains that Paul’s terminology and cultural context indicate a broad condemnation of same-sex relationships, not limited to exploitative ones.

Understanding Romans 1 and Gospel Integration:* Romans 1 highlights various sins, including same-sex relationships, to show the universal need for Jesus and redemption. * Biblical texts condemning same-sex relations often emphasize redemption and grace, as seen in Paul’s letters.

Christian Humility and Jesus’ Teachings:* Christians should approach discussions on sin with humility, recognizing everyone’s need for redemption. * Jesus’ teachings on sexual ethics focus on deeper heart issues and the need for a savior, not just moral compliance.

God’s Boundaries and Fulfillment:* God’s commands, even if restrictive, are for our good and lead to deeper fulfillment. * Staying true to God’s Word may bring short-term discomfort but results in long-term joy and benefits.

Marriage and Ultimate Fulfillment:* Marriage is valuable but not the ultimate source of fulfillment. * True satisfaction comes from a relationship with Jesus, offering a love beyond human capacity.

Addressing Same-Sex Attraction and Identity:* Same-sex attraction does not define one’s identity or indicate a fixed orientation. * Encourages open dialogue and understanding, distinguishing between attraction and identity.

Supporting Those with Same-Sex Attractions:* Seek supportive Christian friends who uphold biblical truth and offer genuine love. * True friendship involves helping each other adhere to God’s Word, not compromising for comfort.

Is global warming true? Is the Earth our sacred Mother? Are human beings responsible for “messing up” the world? In this program, Chip considers these questions from a biblical perspective. While this issue may seem unimportant, Chip reveals that God has some pretty direct things to say about His creation and our responsibilities to care for it.

Main PointsThe Question: How are followers of Christ to think, act, and respond to the controversial issue of the environment? Examining the Scripture: What does God say about the environment?

  1. The earth belongs to God. -Psalm 24:1-2 | Implication: We are to honor God’s creation. -Genesis 1:1
  2. God appointed mankind “dominion” over the earth. -Psalm 115:16 | Implication: We are the earth’s vice regents. -Genesis 1:28, 2:15
  3. The earth/nature has intrinsic value and reflects the character and beauty of the Creator. -Psalm 19:1-2 | Implication: We must explore not exploit; enjoy not worship the earth. -Romans 1:19-21
  4. Mankind is placed in the middle of the created hierarchy and is uniquely responsible to God (above) and for the animals, plants and resources (below). -Psalm 8:3-8 | Implication: We are to use not abuse animals, plants, and resources to glorify God.
  5. God commands environmental stewardship to protect the land, animals, and vegetation for the common good. -Leviticus 25:1-12, 23; Deuteronomy 25:4; 20:19-20; Matthew 6:26 | Implication: Consumption and productivity must be governed by the boundaries of conservation.
  6. Christ’s redemptive work includes the earth. -Romans 8:19-21 | Implication: We must treat the earth with the same priority God does. -Revelation 21:1-4

Where do we go from here?* Recognize and focus on the 7-8 verifiable issues we can all agree upon. * Identify the 3 root causes of our poor environmental stewardship: Greed, Ignorance, and Carelessness * Practical steps for you and your friends/family.

Are you concerned about your community and church as values and morality continue to shift away from the truth of Scripture? In this program, Chip begins a critical series to help Christians use the light of God’s Word to confront today’s most critical issues, without being combative or defensive. Learn why our call to be salt and light is needed now more than ever.

Main Points1. Personal Story of Confrontation: Chip recounts a pivotal moment in his family's life when his mother intervened with his alcoholic father. Her decisive action—giving him an ultimatum—led to his sobriety and eventual transformation. This personal story underscores the importance of confronting issues with care and clarity. 2. Call to Action for Christians: Chip highlights a contemporary issue where many Christians remain silent on controversial topics out of fear or a desire to avoid conflict. The message is clear: Christians need to be more vocal and courageous in addressing critical issues like politics, climate change, and LGBTQ+ matters, rather than remaining passive. 3. Historical Context and Church Role: Reflecting on past experiences in a progressive city and the impact of the book Culture Shock, Chip emphasizes the importance of understanding and communicating truth in a respectful manner. Chip advocates for addressing controversial issues with both grace and truth, grounded in biblical principles. 4. The Importance of Light Over Heat: Chip argues that Christians should bring light, not heat, to conversations about divisive issues. This means presenting truth with compassion and respect, rather than judgment or condemnation. 5. Need for Internal Reflection: Before addressing external issues, Christians must first examine and address their own shortcomings and hypocrisies. Chip stresses that judgment begins with the house of God and that Christians should live out their faith authentically. 6. Emphasis on Jesus’ Teachings: Drawing on biblical teachings, particularly from the Sermon on the Mount, Chip urges Christians to stand firm in righteousness, even if it leads to persecution. He stresses that the goal is not to be right for the sake of being right but to embody and communicate Jesus’ teachings faithfully. 7. Practical Application: Chip calls for a practical approach to addressing critical issues—engaging in compassionate dialogue, supporting those in need, and actively working towards solutions rather than merely criticizing from the sidelines. 8. Final Encouragement: The message concludes with a call to action for Christians to embody the light of Christ in their interactions and to not shy away from confronting issues with love and integrity. The goal is to reflect Jesus' love and truth in all aspects of life, making a positive impact on the world.

It has been said that that which is built in the flesh is maintained by the flesh, but that which is built in the Spirit is maintained by the Spirit. So, what does that phrase mean? In this program, Chip Ingram will explore that answer as he interviews his close friend and marketplace leader, Gregg Dedrick. Join us as we learn through Gregg’s life story how to build your life on God instead of chasing after earthly fulfillment.

Main PointsBuilding in the Flesh vs. Building in the Spirit:* Building in the Flesh: Attempting to live the Christian life through personal effort, willpower, and self-sufficiency, which often leads to burnout and discouragement. * Building in the Spirit: Surrendering to God and partnering with Him, which leads to a more fulfilling and sustainable Christian life.

Gregg Dedrick’s Journey:* Corporate Success: Gregg achieved significant success in the corporate world, including roles as chief people officer and president of KFC. * Burnout: Despite his achievements, he experienced burnout in both business and ministry, feeling that there had to be more to life than what he was experiencing.

The Turning Point:* Surrender: Gregg's journey began with a surrender to God, recognizing his own self-sufficiency and the need for divine help. * Intimacy with God: He realized that his faith had become more of a code of ethics rather than a genuine relationship with God. This led him to explore a deeper intimacy with God.

Key Insights:* Adoration Prayer: Gregg discovered adoration prayer as a way to build intimacy with God, focusing on loving God for who He is rather than for what He does. * Misplaced Identity: He acknowledged that his identity and relationship with God had been performance-based, leading to a shaky and conditional relationship with God.

Transformation and Impact:* Shift from Devotion to Discipline: He transitioned from a focus on performing religious duties to a disciplined approach to devotion that opened his heart to God. * Impact on Relationships: This new understanding improved his relationships, including his marriage, by fostering a deeper and more genuine connection with others.

Practical Application:* Partnership with God: Building in the Spirit involves partnering with God rather than relying solely on one's own efforts. This approach leads to a more authentic and fulfilling spiritual life.

Book Recommendation:* "Building in the Spirit: Discovering the Life God Destined for You": Gregg’s experiences and insights are detailed in this book, which is recommended for those who feel burned out or are struggling with a performance-based faith.

Final Thoughts:* Working from Value: Understanding that God’s love and validation are the foundation of our work and partnership with Him brings joy and removes the pressure of performance.

Does your faith often feel like two steps forward and one step back? You pray and read the Bible for a few days in a row, but then life gets busy, or you sin, and then you feel like you have to start all over. In this program, Chip will guide us to a new perspective as he picks up in his series, Going Deeper. Discover how to develop a rhythm of meeting with God from the example King David modeled for us.

Main PointsDavid’s story

  • He was neglected when he was young.
  • He was belittled by his older brothers.
  • Despite his victories and loyalty, King Saul sought to kill him.
  • He was anointed as king but had to wait ten years before he became king.
  • Although he faced betrayal, disappointment, and trauma, David maintained a practice of connecting with God.

David's passion for God. -Psalm 27:4-11

David's passion for the Word of God. -Psalm 119:9-11, 33-40

Lessons from David’s walk:

  • People who really love God have ups and downs in their walk with God. We are human. Our emotions rise and fall, but the Spirit says, “seek My face.”
  • David’s core was a passion to know God. And his primary instrument was the Word of God.

God’s Word is clear that believing in Jesus is the only path to genuine salvation. In this program, our guest teacher Aaron Pierce – from Steiger International – continues his series, Not Beyond Reach. He’ll walk through practical ways to talk about God’s Word with those who don’t believe the Bible is the absolute truth.

Main PointsPrinciples for sharing the Gospel:

  • Rely on the Holy Spirit, not scripts or tracts
  • People need to experience the power and presence of God
  • Introducing people to the person of Jesus
  • No cross, No power

Contextualizing the Gospel for your audience:

  • Contextualization is about communicating in a language they can understand.
  • It’s not about popularity or compromise, it’s about clarity.
  • Avoid using Christian language that is foreign and strange to secular culture.
  • Jesus used words and imagery that was very relevant to the audience He spoke to.

Don’t use the Bible as an argumentative authority:

  • “The Bible says,” is not a compelling or effective approach for post-Christian people.
  • Leverage the truth, that is experientially verifiable, taught in the Bible, not the authority of the Bible itself.

Communicating the Gospel effectively in the context that God has called you to:

  • There is power in your story
  • Take a risk and invite a response. Give people an opportunity to say yes or no to Jesus

Discipleship relationships:

  • Doesn’t start the day someone commits to a local church, but the moment they meet a follower of Christ.
  • It’s about doing life together, not a weekly event.
  • Doesn’t have to happen in a classroom or a church hall, it can happen in the context and environment people come from.
  • It’s intentional: we guide the relationship purposefully to see spiritual growth, making the most of every opportunity.
  • Should lead to multiplication.

Are you concerned that today’s culture will crush your kids and grandkids’ faith? In this program, we begin our series, Not Beyond Reach – taught by our guest teacher Aaron Pierce. He leads a ministry called Steiger International, who’s on a mission to reach young people all over the globe with the Gospel. To kick off this series, Aaron and Chip sit down to discuss why this next generation is desperate for and ready to receive - the hope only Jesus can offer.

Main PointsThree key realities to engage post-Christian culture:

  1. Secular people have become suspicious of religious institutions and are far less likely to walk into a church.
  2. Secular people today do not have the same assumptions as previous generations.
  3. Secular people are open to spirituality.

Four key influences on global youth culture:

  1. Entertainment Industry (Music, film, theater, sports)
  2. Internet Stars via social media platforms.
  3. Video Games (is bigger than Hollywood where the average 21 year old male has spent 10,000 hours playing video games).
  4. Pornography is a pervasive and unashamedly part of many daily routines. Sexuality is just a personal pursuit of happiness; harmless.

Philosophical pillars:

  • Secularism – Faith is private and not meant to be pushed on others.
  • Relativism – There is no absolute moral truth.
  • Acceptance – Tolerance is not enough, you must affirm.

Four big worldview questions:

  1. Origin – Where did life come from? How did life begin?
  2. Morality – What is right and wrong and who decides?
  3. Purpose – What is the purpose of life?
  4. Destiny – What happens after we die?

Predominant worldview:

  • Secular Humanism – the religion of self. The idea is that God has been replace, man is at the center, and there’s no outside authority that can tell me how to live my life. The key to happiness is found within.
  • What should our response be?- Nehemiah 1:4; 1 Corinthians 4:20; 1 Thessalonians 2:8

Sometimes the truth really HURTS! Getting straight talk from a friend is about as fun as getting a speeding ticket. But we all need people in our lives who will honestly level with us! Chip explains why it’s so important to be a truth-telling-best-friend.

Main PointsWhy must we admonish one another?

  • It is a command. - Colossians 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:14
  • Because we all have “blind spots.” - Psalm 19:12; 139:23-24
  • To become godly, holy, mature Christians. - Colossians 1:28-29
  • It cultivates deep, loving relationships. - 1 Thessalonians 2:8
  • Because sin destroys a believer’s life. - Romans 6:23
  • Because we are members of one another. Unchecked sin impacts the whole body - Romans 12:4-5

Who is competent to admonish?

  1. It requires a life "full of goodness"
  2. It requires a life "filled with knowledge"
  3. It requires a "heart filled with love"

How to admonish - "the process":

Step #1: Examine your own life. - Matthew 7:3-5

Step #2: Examine the Word. - 2 Timothy 2:15

Step #3: Examine your motives. - 1 Corinthians 4:14

Step #4: Set a time to meet privately. - Matthew 18:15

Step #5: Ask specific questions to confirm data, and disarm the situation.

Step #6: Tenderly point out the sin; show them the Scripture that applies to them.

Step #7: If possible, develop a game plan, timetable, and follow-up meeting for support and follow-through.

Conclusion: Admonition is God’s antibiotic for the church; done Biblically, it is the most loving thing you can do … for all concerned.

Do you feel defined by your mistakes? No matter what you’ve gone through, what you see as a damaged or tattered life, God sees every one of His children as a masterpiece, displaying His glory. If you’re struggling to believe that’s true, join Theresa Ingram, as she shares her story and why we can hold on to God’s promises.

Main PointsLearning how to experience God's love by "opening the window of our soul"

Closed window: Sin in my life and disobedience to God’s Word keeps me from experiencing God’s love.

Open window: I will live righteously because God’s love is perfected in lives that are pure.

Steps to take:

  1. Make confession a part of your daily life; keep short accounts.
  2. Spend time in God’s Word on a regular basis (5-7 days per week).

Closed window: A believer’s learned way of thinking about themselves (self-talk) can keep them from experiencing God’s love.

Open window: I will fill my mind with God’s truth to overcome the negative beliefs I have learned. I will cling to His promises for my life.

Steps to take:

  1. Evaluate your own thinking patters against Philippians 4:8. Does your self-talk align with God’s truth about you?
  2. Begin the process of replacing those lies with God’s truth (fix your mind on what is true and honorable and right).

Closed window: A believer who is building the foundation of their life on worldly, temporal things instead of on God’s foundation and eternal things will have a hard time experiencing God’s love.

Open Window: I will surrender my life (all that I am and all that I have) to my Father in Heaven (the only One who is able and willing to give me all things to enjoy).

Steps to take:

  1. Build the foundation of your life on God’s Word.
  2. Seek His will in everything you do.
  3. Choose by faith to surrender (sign over) every part of your life to God each day.

Closed window: A believer who listens to Satan’s lies and accusations about God’s Word and God’s character will miss the signs of God’s love.

Open window: I will pray specifically against the accusations of Satan and refuse to believe his lies. I will ask God to increase my knowledge and awareness of His love for me.

Steps to take:

  1. Stand firm against Satan’s lies!
  2. For every doubt, pray a prayer!

  • Words = Clear instructions - Proverbs 1:8; 2:1-2; 3:1; 7:1-2

Practical tips for balanced parenting:

  1. Have a few, clear rules/responsibilities.
  2. Develop written contracts.
  3. Negotiate consequences.
  4. Be consistent!
  5. The older they get, the fewer the rules.
  6. Train them to be on their own.

Main PointsGod's instructions for a great marriage

  • It requires mutual submission to God and each other. - Ephesians 5:21
  • You need to know how to love your mate.
  • Your marriage has an even bigger purpose than your happiness.

Marriage is a holy covenant

A covenant marriage involves three distinct aspects:

  • Leaving
  • Cleaving
  • Becoming "one flesh"

Since marriage is a covenant and not merely a contract...

  • Divorce is not an option. - Malachi 2:14
  • Adultery is a serious covenant breaking offense. - Proverbs 2:16-19
  • Sex before marriage is a violation of this holy covenant. - Hebrews 13:4
  • Same sex relationships are forbidden as a violation of God’s design. - 1 Corinthians 6:9; Romans 1:26-27
