I am interested in peoples stories, unique and broad; everyone has a story to tell. Come on a journey with me and my guests, where we can all be 'In Search of Purpose'.
How can I describe the very talented Ralph McLean? Well he is a TV presenter, Radio DJ, respected arts commentator, producer, scriptwriter and newspaper columnist….. Ralph has done it all in his impressive career.
In this podcast we discuss his road trip through America, which I am very jealous of, as it just sounded like the trip of trips. He tells me about the time he interviewed Harrison Ford and all he could think was "That's Han Solo". He also describes going to interview Dolly Parton at her home, in her own little church with the stained glass windows. He paints the picture.
One thing that stood out mostly about Ralph in this podcast is his sheer passion and commitment to music, whether its on a personal level on via the various mediums and platforms that he shares, through radio, TV or print.
A perfect podcast for this weekend. You can thank me later!

John McCormick is the founder and Owner of Helen's Bay Organic farm, which has been in operation for over 30 years. There is a collection service via a farm shop, home vegetable delivery service and they also have a stand at St. Georges Market.
I have volunteered at the farm and I have learnt so much from John about growing vegetables and what is involved in growing your own veg. I am so glad somewhere like this exists and it is so close to me which is even better.
If you want to know more about what the farm has to offer and want to know what happens behind the scenes on an Organic Farm then this is the podcast for you.

Ireland through the decades of The Troubles.
He has written for the likes of NME and has worked with Warner Brother, so this man has been at the fore front of many genres of music for many decades. Let me take you on a journey through Stuarts career and all the wonderful stories he has to share along the way.
Cormac is a song writer, musician, guitar player, music teacher and one of the most amazing singers I have ever heard. (And I have heard a good few singers).
He is well known as the front man in the band 'The Answer'. They have supported and shared the stage with Whitesnake (a-mas-ing!) and ACDC but to name a few. They are high energy and addictive to listen to.
Cormac, more recently released his solo album, Broken Wing. A more intimate and personal refection album.
Join us on a journey through music, song writing and doing what he loves best- creating music for us all to embrace. You won't be disappointed.

I have known Dave for almost 20 years. We go way back! It was great to catch up with him in this podcast as he has a lot of interesting stories to tell. He is one of those people that time flies by with. Every time we meet up, there is always great story exchanges, energy and a bit of craic and banter.
One thing that wasn't discussed in this podcast that has recently come to light is that Dave has indeed been on the BBC this week as he is the ONLY OFFICIAL BAND in the world who are performing together right now. He has recently got together over lockdown with a band (all cover-19 checked and negative) and moved into a private mansion location in England where they have been recording music and basically living the life of Riley.
Daves' day job is playing Bass Guitar mostly in Jools Hollands Rhythm and Blues Orchestra for over 30 years. I have had the pleasure of playing before him and Jools Holland and the rest of his band and I supported their band a few years back on the Irish leg of their UK and Irish tour. It was an amazing experience. One that I will cherish forever.
It was great to catch up with Dave, even if he was at the time, not disclosing his secret location. What a brilliant project- to join with fellow musicians in amidst a pandemic, in secret. Pretty cool. I hope you enjoy this podcast.

Billy Burns (born 13 June 1994) is a professional rugby union player who plays for Ulster. His favoured position is fly-half. He is the younger brother of Bath and England fly-half Freddie Burns. Born in England, Burns represent England for youth rugby union teams, before being called to represent Ireland at the 2020 Six Nations Championship.
In November 2019, having established himself in the Ulster team and formed a strong half-back.
I knew very little about rugby but now I know a lot more about it, and what better person to gain some insight into the world of rugby than from Billy Burns Himself.

In this podcast, I get chatting to Garry Jackson. Garry is the proprietor of Garry’s Barber Shop, Holywood along with his wife Mari. Garry has been cutting men & boys hair in Holywood for the last 31 years, & is very much at the heart of community.
Being an old punk Garry is extremely passionate about music & has “live sessions” in the shop which co-ordinate with the local Harmony Live Festival which his wife organises.
Five years ago Garry was asked if he’d be interested in becoming a bearded model. This in turn led to modelling jobs for Bushmills, TK Maxx & Paddy Powers among others. All this creativity has now been processed into recently introducing the new GBS hair & beard product range.
We talk about lockdown, cutting hair, music, life and hugs. Check it out!

I have known Colum Sands for many years. Memories of The Sands Family and my family all getting together to play music and have a bit of craic has left a joyful, vivid imprint in my mind.
In this podcast Colum and I discuss the very thing we seem to love collectively and that is our love of nature and how we can tap into something that is so readily available and accessible if only we just opened our senses and literally smell the roses.
It was 6 years ago that I had the pleasure of being on Colum's Radio Ulster show where I was indeed singing one of the songs I had written for an album I had written. How time flies; and here we are years on and chatting about things so dear to our hearts. We talk about somewhat silver lining of an awakened consciousness that Covid has created, in that, it reinforces the things in life that matter.
I could chat with Colum all day. I hope you enjoy this podcast as much as I enjoyed creating it.

On this podcast I have the pleasure of interviewing Stephen Jeffers aka Chef Jeffers. Stephen runs a successful business; Forestside Cookery School. I had the opportunity of teaming up with him earlier this year where we put on a few plant based cookery demos in the Forrestside Shopping Centre Mall. We were also going to collaborate in April with a 'Demo and Dine' event where people would come along to his school, watch Chef Jeffers in action cooking up a plant based storm and I would be on hand to answer all your 'Nutritional questions'. Due to Covid-19, that evening will have to wait.
In the meantime, Stephen tells us about his new ventures, ways of still cooking with his extensive list of keen cooks, even in these unpredicented times. We talk about his past endeavours, lockdown and his visions for the future. Tune in if you are a foodie.

I have known Frank Liddy for many years. He taught my mum and I in Queen’s University Belfast on a Mindfulness Meditation Course a few years back. I would describe him as a ‘down to earth’ guy with a lot of knowledge and insight into the world of meditation and beyond.
Frank has learnt from; and worked with some of the best gurus in the industry. These will be disclosed in the podcast. He delivers lectures, talks and motivational speeches on self awareness, development and improvement. He defines the simplicity of meditation practice to those who are prepared to; or are ready to embrace this great modality or way of life.
Come on a journey with Frank and I in search of purpose with its focus this time, on meditation.

Barry Keil works in the film industry and his specialised role is as a First Assistant Director. He has worked on many films and television series. Some of his work includes The Fall (Gillian Anderson & Jamie Dornan), Ordinary Love (Liam Neeson), Good Vibrations (Richard Dormer & Adrian Dunbar) and most recently Killing Eve (Jodie Comer & Sandra Ho) which airs today May 4th. Barry discusses the detail behind what makes a great show and the weeks of work that ends up being compacted into a forty minute show. He talks about his travels with work and his love for American Football both as a participant and spectator. We also share the love for Star Wars, so we get a bit nerdy at times.
This is my 1st podcast; and what a great 1st it is! My guest on this episode is Deirdre McCafferty. Deirdre is an amazing woman. She is an inspiration to me. Before I even met her, I ate in her restaurant 'Cornucopia' in Dublin's busy city centre. It blew my mind. For anyone who knows me, you know I like my specialist foods. The words gluten and dairy free and vegetarian are high up on my vocabulary list; and to walk into a restaurant 10 years ago, for the first time and for all those words to be written in black and white, (literally) on the black board, was refreshing to me. I felt I had come home. A few years later, I met Deirdre at a completely different event in Dublin that had nothing really to do with the restaurant. We met by accident. It was fate. Since then, we have grown a friendship of kindred spirits. I just love listening to her stories about climate change, spirituality, her time spent working at the Naturopathic clinic in Boston in the 1970's- Hippocrates; and most importantly, her baby- that is indeed Cornucopia, which she has been running successfully for over 30 years. This woman is a free but forward thinker, a force to be reckoned with. Come with me on a journey into the world of Deirdre McCafferty who turned her dreams into reality. Her search of purpose is all about the journey.
