It's easy to just focus on inflation and a recession. I want you to stay inspired as you navigate the times we are in. Many people realise that becoming a millionaire is possible (not easy, but there is a way). An average person with a £25k income who works for 40 years can make a million. Becoming a millionaire isn't about making a lot of money, though; it's about making smart investments. We all know it's not how much you earn but how much you spend and what you have left that builds wealth! The issue isn't so much earning money as it is maintaining a million-dollar net worth for future generations. Becoming a millionaire is more than just money, though. It's the lifestyle, choices, and generosity that it allows you to live. Financial independence and millionaire status allow you to spend more time with your family and donate to worthy causes. They say money can't buy happiness, but it can give you control. Control over situations reduces stress over unexpected costs. Financial success boosts self-esteem and propels you to greater heights in life. So in today's episode, I want to give you 24 things you can begin to do to get you to millionairehood! Everyone wants to make money NOW! A lot of people, out of desperation, turn to investing. However, investing requires long-term thinking. If you're in debt, want to build an emergency fund, or lost your job, you might think that buying stocks or cryptocurrencies is going to get you out of the pit you are in now. It won't and I am sorry to burst your bubble. Instead, think long-term when you are investing.  If you had invested 10 years ago, imagine how different your life would look today. Put that same thinking hat on and start investing today so you can look back in 10 years and thank yourself for it.  LET'S STAY CONNECTED!!!! Have you found your life's purpose? Are you finding your life's purpose? Living your purpose is essential to financial wellness. When you find your purpose, your purpose will provide for you.

This topic is so important because there is so much going on in the world; we have so many people changing jobs and businesses pivoting, and it almost feels like people are trying to rediscover themselves.

Rather than just working a job or running a business you hate, spend more exploring your purpose. I believe in the famous saying, "Do what you love and the money will follow."

And as I embark on my own personal journey of discovering my life's purpose and my purpose providing for me, this has become increasingly true for me.

Purpose and money are two topics we don't often discuss in the personal finance world.

I believe the two are connected. If you live your purpose, it will provide for you.

Crab a pen and paper and ask yourself these questions, as you discover your life purpose!

  1. Who am I, exactly?
  2. What am I going to do?
  3. What am I doing here?
  4. What options do I have?
  5. What can I do to help?
  6. What do you think I'm capable of?
  7. What are my skills and abilities?
  8. What do I like to do?
  9. What skills do I have, and where do they come from?
  10. What does it matter to me that no one else does?

**For the most part, we would have to think long and hard about when our bad financial habits kicked in. It's the beginning of a new year. I'm sure a lot of people are giving up caffeine, smoking, alcohol, sugar, or bad spending habits. If you're unfamiliar with the term "cold turkey," it refers to abruptly discontinuing a habit. It is the point at which you completely stop a bad habit or a behaviour that you want to change. Instead of gradually discontinuing the habit, you discontinue it abruptly in the hope of never returning to it.
This podcast focuses on why you shouldn't go cold turkey and how going cold turkey can lead to additional problems in your personal finances. Don't get me wrong, it can work for some people, and there are advantages to quitting cold turkey, but it all depends on the habit and the individual.

Do you break the rules or do you follow them? Here are 5 unconventional ways I manage my own finances.

Personal finance fundamentals never change. If you try to change these rules, you may face financial challenges and take longer to achieve your financial goals. If you don't budget, you'll lose track of your spending, save less, and wind up living over your means.

While we must follow financial principles, we must also establish our own distinctive approach. Budgeting is necessary, but how you budget may be tailored to you and your position. The fact that I have disregarded certain conventional conventions in managing my own finances without affecting the concepts has made it a lot more fun and tailored to my situation, as I help many of my clients to do.

So you've heard you need to be debt-free and save? That's all well and good, but is it practical to pay off debt while saving money? Which debts should I pay first?

Saving money is difficult when you have debts to pay. People often become overwhelmed attempting to save and pay off debts with a limited budget.

There is no right or wrong way to pay off debt or save money. It all depends on your circumstances. It depends on what keeps you up at night. Is it the debt or the lack of savings that keeps you up?

I believe you can do both, but the numbers will speak for themselves. What to consider while deciding between paying off debt and saving

I'm frequently asked, "Esther, how did you pay off your debts, become a saver, and buy your house in three years with no financial background or a Great Aunt who passed away and left you thousands of pounds?" The short answer is that I mastered key financial principles and laid a solid foundation for myself. As I always say, personal finance management is a way of life, not a destination. It's now our way of life.

So, to assist even more people, I've decided to teach my exact Financial Success process in my group accountability programme so that more 9-5 professionals like you can have your hard-earned money working as hard for you as you do for it!

In a few weeks, I'll be launching this group, which will be small and intimate. Only about 20 people will most likely be able to attend. Click the link to be added to the interest list and be notified as soon as doors open. Join the waitlist here."

I swear by weekly check-ins! They are super practical! In today’s podcast episode, I share my five reasons why weekly check-ins are effective. And here’s the thing- weekly check-ins do not have to take too much time. Maybe in the beginning, but as you stay consistent, you will find yourself flying through them. When you have eyes on your personal finance, you catch bad money habits and unauthorised charges, and you can plan better for what’s coming, helping you feel more confident about your future.

Natasha and I both recently purchased council properties around the same time. We must have closed a few weeks apart. So I'm really looking forward to discussing the process with Natasha. **When it comes to beating inflation, there is no sure-fire method. All you need to know is what it is and how it affects you based on your objectives. Because we all have different goals, low and high inflation rates will affect each person differently.

Simply do your best to keep your money safe by spending less than you earn, saving for up to five-year goals, investing long-term by starting now, and attempting to own more than you owe. Maintain your debt-free status.

I strongly advise you to listen to parts 1 through 4 of this podcast series on inflation so that you may gain a firm understanding of it and utilise it to plan for your life and future.**

So let’s get straight into it.

You're probably thinking Esther, I'm not an investment manager, I don't work in a bank, and I'm not in the financial industry; what does inflation have to do with my personal finances? Well if you want to become financially independent and achieve financial success, inflation is one of those things you have to pay attention to.

Inflation is measured using three popular measurements: Consumer Price Index (CPI), Producer Price Index (PPI) and House Price Index (HPI). There are other ways of measuring inflation but these are the three main ones and these can change over time because of how we use and spend money.

So let’s get straight into it.

You don’t want to miss:

  1. Consumer Price Index (CPI),
  2. Producer Price Index (PPI) and
  3. House Price Index (HPI).

The reason for today's podcast is that everyone in finance and politics is talking about inflation. You may believe it has nothing to do with you or your personal finances, yet it is all about your money. I'll give you a heads up: this episode is going to be a mouthful, and it'll be different from the others in that I'll be discussing statistics, rates, and percentages. However, bear with me! This is critical. Some of you may feel compelled to flee. But don't move.

Because there is so much to cover, I've chosen to make this a series and divide it into four parts.

Today's episode is part 1 of a two-part series in which I explain what inflation is and why it matters to you.

You don’t want to miss:

  1. What is inflation?
  2. Why does understanding Inflation matter

Today's episode is a little different from the others in that... For this episode, I didn't have much of a plan. Money, after all, reveals a great deal about who we are, what we think, and what we believe. It's critical that you realise this and match your spending habits with the person you want to be.

You don’t want to miss:

  1. Who are you now with money?
  2. Who do you want to become?

In today Episode I will be sharing the importance of having a WHY for your desire to become financially independent. I’ve chosen this topic because very often most people, start their financial journey because they are told to or they know it’s beneficial to their financial situation and it’s something they should do.

And while they make some progress, they are inconsistent, they give up easily and even though they are budgeting, saving and paying off debts, it’s in drips and drops, they are doing this on a surface level and not really reaping the true benefits from actions they are taking. I believe the reason for this is that they don’t have WHY for financial independence.

You don’t want to miss:

  1. 7 questions to ask yourself to find out what your WHY for financial independence is
  2. How my WHY helped me get through the pandemic

In this episode, I will be sharing some pros and cons of renting vs buying a house and how to calculate if purchasing a home is affordable for you. This is a trendy topic right now. As I record this episode, we have just had the UK Annual Budget review announced by the government. One of the changes announced is the minimum amount required for a house deposit dropping from 10% to 5%. As you can imagine, many people are asking if buying is a good thing for them or if they should consider renting.

You don't want to miss:

  • Is renting better than buying a house?
  • Pros and cons of renting and buying
  • How to avoid becoming house poor?
  • What numbers do you need to consider when purchasing?
  • How much your salary needs to be to buy a £300k house/flat
  • Why should you pay more than the minimum required deposit, and why this will help you in the long run?

The joys of December usually creates unforeseen expenses, forcing a lot of people to fall into their overdraft, others max out their credit cards.

And to be honest, as much as I hope that people are understanding the times we are in and being diligent with their spending, I am not sure this is the case.

With direct debits lurking above bank balances like a bad storm threatening to drop at any moment and the accompanying gloomy weather the new year brings, it’s not surprising that so many people suffer from the ‘January Blues’.
