As we studied in John 15:11-16, we found it interesting how that just a few hours before Jesus would be handed over to be crucified, His strongest teaching was about love. This included talking about the fruit remaining in our lives, about the choice we have to love or not, and what it means to ask the Father in Jesus' name so we can have whatever we want. All of these were centered in Jesus' teaching on loving each other. Listen in as we were Discovering Truth!
What did the disciples and Jesus discuss at the Last Supper? As we studied in John 13:21-38 we saw the humanity of Jesus as He did what He did and said what He said to the disciples knowing that this was the last time He would share a meal with them. Listen in as we discussed the moments of how Jesus acted toward Judas Iscariot who He knew would betray Him and how the disciples responded to Jesus when He said He was leaving them. This was such an amazing study! Even during this last intimate dinner as they all shared the Passover feast, Jesus still did what He could to teach His disciples. You will want to hear every minute of this amazing 29-minute message from Pastor Cecil Brookins coming out of Luke 13: 6-9. Jesus was looking for fruit, any fruit from a fruit tree that He passed. God will use our current situation to cause growth in our life if we yield to Him. He gives us the opportunity to respond to the fertilizer and treatment we are given. Don't let God's help go un-answered. According to John 15:1-2, "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful."
After recovering from emergency surgery and two weeks in the hospital, Pastor Cecil Brookins returns to share what he believes God has given him from the Word. Listen as he comes out of Job 2: 1-10 which talks about God giving Satan free reign to do all he can to hurt Job (except take his life) to try and get Job to sin with his lips by cursing God. Tests are given to show what you know and how much you have progressed. Does God have the same confidence in me like He has in Job? Hamartiology - What Is it and better yet, why do we need to study this? What is the purpose of studying it?
Most people have an idea of what sin is but this class goes a little bit deeper and our discussion leads us to understand not only what sin is but detail on how it entered mankind.
Romans 11:29 says "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. " So if you are called into ministry, who ordains the call?
A very short podcast with a very powerful revelation! Acts 16:16-24 speaks of a female slave who had a spirit of divination (like a fortune teller) who made money with this ability for her masters. When she saw Paul and Silas she immediately began to yell out that they were servants of the Most High God and they were telling you the way to be saved. Paul was irritated and cast out the demon from her so she could no longer use this ability. Why did Paul do this? Wasn't she proclaiming the truth? In Luke 1: 11-24 there was a son of a certain man who demanded his inheritance from his father. The son left home and spent his inheritance on riotous living until he had nothing left and had to work feeding pigs. He became so hungry that he ate the food he was feeding the pigs.
