Discarray: Recent Episodes

Emily Hazlitt

This podcast is a place to share the radio shows I host weekly on Freshair radio. Discarray: a loving combination of a disarray of music and chat. Each week focuses on a different area which caused me disarray (especially through my Uni years and beyond). A little message to my younger self not to panic and stress, we've got your back.

February is LGBTQ+ History month, and as a gay female, it's a month close to my heart. It's also my birth month so good vibes all round, but that's as much a coincidence as attending an all female school, or playing an all female sport. This week we break from the traditional style of the Positivi-TEA shows, as we focus on 6 amazing stories from the LGBTQ+ community. Join me to hear of some incredible trailblazers, and inspirational stories, alongside some amazing, beautiful music from LGBTQ+ artists. This episode has been a pleasure and a joy to record, I hope you learn something, I hope it brings you some hope and bucket loads of positivity. Tune in to tune out, and spread the love. Because love always wins. 🌈

An interview with my great friend Bel, at a perfect time for Mental Health Awareness Week. In 2016 Bel contracted a tropical illness which led to Chronic Fatigue. We dicuss Bel's illness and how she managed to handle both physically and mentally this whilst going through University, finding a Career path that suits her and is manageable, and how becoming a yogi has been a saving grace. This is a beautiful blend of Discarray & Positivi-TEA, and it was a pleasure and a joy to record. We laughed, we nearly cried, and we talked (a lot). Thankyou Bel, you're incredible. πŸ™πŸŒˆβ€οΈ

Ever thought about taking a gap year? Or a gap 2 years. The world's your oyster. From working placements, to a South East Asia finding yourself trip, this episode talks all things gap years. The benefits, the types, the best time to take them? Mixed in with a musical theme of song sampling, which I've oh so elegantly coined the 'musical eviqaulent of a gap year'. A space to grow and change and develop into something newer and ready to take on modern day life. Musically and personally.
