The Western World can often be nervous if not outright resistant to any talk of non-material ‘Spiritual’ matters. Mention of the Holy Spirit, or Holy Ghost as some Bible translations call Him can seem so far removed from our daily lives and can even make us fearful. Yet if we are to walk a victorious life there is no other option. To take out the person of the Holy Spirit from the Gospel is to take out its truth, power and life, and turn it into another one of the worlds rule-based dead religions.

Over the last few weeks we have been looking at the prevailing Church, built upon Jesus, and Peter’s confession that ‘He is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God’. Over the ages God has been looking for and partnering with people who are willing to speak out and live for this heavenly truth. Speaking out words based on the Word of God brings power and authority as we align our thoughts words and actions with those of Heaven. Against this the gates of hell themselves will not stop us!
It’s never too late to seek redemption. It doesn’t matter what we have done in our past. “gods love is so great, we are not past redemption.” “Gods grace is bigger than any of our sin”.
Do you really know God or do you know of God? Carys continues from Sams sermon, sharing about making God famous. Our Knowledge of God effects our response to him. When we respond well to him, we allow his glory to come upon us, then we can reflect his Glory and that is how we make him well known.
Matt continues our series on biblical Finance. Behind all the stories of the Bibles, from Genesis to Revelation, underlying all the character, twists and turns of history is the grand-narrative of Scripture. God is calling His people out from darkness to light, into a covenant relationship with him. God loves humanity, and wants to BLESS all His creation.
We can often talk ourselves out of what God wants to do because we look at things from our perspective. Don’t work in our own strength but rely on God. God starts when we give him the Glory in the impossible areas. Like Joshua, be strong, be courageous do not be afraid and do not be discouraged. Discouragement will derail you, "Gods power is made perfect in weakness".
Our fear of knowing God personally can be a barrier. Jesus took all our imperfections on the cross so we can know God. We try our very best to make our lives as perfect as possible. God is a personal God and is the route of all perfection.
Luke and Carla start our Awesome August off sharing about God's Grace. 'God's grace is a free gift. We don't deserve it and there's nothing we could do to earn it.'
