Faced with yet another Facebook hacking, I am led to get this morning's message out by any means necessary (as long as it does not conflict with the Word of God. This does not as we know now that many shepherds of the Church have now become podcasters.)In these days we are called to be more diligent and faithful. The people of God must not be afraid to obey God in public or private. So what if some mock or will not listen. We still have a duty to share the Good News as led. We must decide are we people pleasers or determined every day to please God. May we be the ones that continue to trust and look to Most High God for all we need to continue our journey in this world and in this new eternal life.Love and peace to the Beautiful and Beloved Family of God. ππΎππΎβ
This episode of front porch candor speaks candidly, from the heart to those who now may be reconsidering becoming or remaining a part of what must be the Beloved Community, the true Body/Bride of Christ. This because of things that perhaps they heard about us in the world or experienced inside the walls of the Church. I feel your pain, but God cannot be blamed for the wounds that the world inflicts. God will heal us in our broken places and use us for good in the process. Do not turn away from becoming who you were created to be by trying to make yourself acceptable or loved by the wrong people of this world. Hang on tight to the Lord of Hosts and keep it moving straight ahead, no turning back, except to thank God for bringing you and others through in spite of a vast sea of naysayers and workers of iniquity. God's got the whole world in His hands and this includes every last one of us. We will be measured by many things in this world, we can laugh at this ourselves, were it not for the time and season we are in. But for all those who earnestly seek to please God and not the world or ourselves, we have a duty to not profit off the pain and suffering of others and behave in ways that distract from the work that Most High God created us to do. "But what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Faith in Most High God encourages and inspires us to walk, speaks, and acts according to the leading of the Spirit of God. Woman At The Well, Vanessa D. Johnson, God's People can steadily be about this business despite any and all challenges and struggles. We will win.
As broken vessels of The Most High God we are often led to do things beyond our comfort zone.Podcasting, painting, drawing, writing, and so many otherthings can be used for the glory of our God. I am thankful to beused by Yahweh and unashamed in any way. As unpolished as my works are, God continues to use me and I am grateful. Christ, my Redeemer has set me free from sin and thecondemnation of this world. He will do the same for you if He has not already. Try Him and find out. In Christ doors are openingthat no one can shut. May we be so bold and courageous as to walk right on through. In this time and season let us go and grow together, embracing the Truth, seeking and working to become a more just and loving people and rejoice in El-Shaddai's presence.Who can put a stop to this? None, but God!!! Hallelujah!

Coronavirus has driven the saints of God from the church in a time when many were questioning the validity of evangelism. So what's that about? Faithfully I come this morning to share this message with whomever the Holy Spirit sends. God's peace and love.
Today's episode is an impromptu, Holy Spirit-inspired message I received this morning on my way home from work. My family had plans of being in church, however like others, the church house is not open this morning. However the sanctuary, our hearts are and we desire to share our special time with God with whomever else desires to hear a Word about the Good Master. While Coronavirus continues to demand our attention, we must not as Christians allow it or anything else to lure our attention away from Jesus and our calling as disciples. Knowing that our God is able to take what the adversary meant for harm, and turn it to work in our favor, we can declare it 'Open Door Season'. We can address these ills as led, then lay our fears upon the altar, while continuing to connect and share Jesus. Join us!!! #GodFirst #ChurchingatHome #ServingAnOnTimeGod'WaitOnHim
This episode features Gloria Samuels an amazing voice for the Latinx/Hispanic community. Listen to her share her views on voting in this episode of Front Porch Candor's series of community voices titled #ChristianVoicesChristianVotes where she appeals directly to a segment of our population often disenfranchised, marginalized, and heavily oppressed, Latinxs and Hispanics. Given the current division and mean-spiritedness toward their community it is no wonder like others, they too are at times left feeling demoralized, dejected and plain uninspired to show up and vote. We pray that you give a listen to this spirited voice for change. Gloria is a faith-filled, proud American, and military wife, She is also a mother, and hard worker who has achieved a great many accomplishments through sheer determination, hard work and most importantly faith. In recognition of the fact that we are indeed stronger together, Gloria bravely agreed to join me here on Front Porch Candor's #ChristianVoicesChristianVotes. Again, this small effort is designed to show that Christians can and should be a voice for the voiceless, who are often poor, immigrants, widows, children and others. Just as our voices matter, so do our votes. We encourage all those, especially every black and brown citizen who may have sat out prior elections for whatever reasons not to do so this year. There is far too much at stake, our lives and well being, and there have already been devastating consequences felt in our families, communities, and the country. Please register to vote and exercise your rights as a citizen of these United States of America. Encourage everyone you know to do the same boldly, fearlessly and faithfully. #2020Vision #NextGenerationFightToday #ForgettheMoatGetOuttheVote #LatinxHispanicVotesCount2
It's voting season once again and people of all races, ethnicities, genders and backgrounds are fired up about exercising their right to vote and making sure their voices are heard this year. Christians are no difference and many of us are quick to tell you that it is encumbent upon us in fact to use our voices to speak up and out for those who may be unable to do so at the polls, and elsewhere. Mrs. Garvin is one such community member and we are thrilled to welcome and add this retired nurse's voice to our humble effort to get out the vote.
This episode has two segments with my daughters Morgan and Jordan. It is the first of Front Porch Candor's series titled #ChristianVoicesChristianVotes. More seg.ents and more community voices are forthcoming. Front Porch Candor is only a part of my calling as it gives voice to the voiceless., As a people of faith, we can scarcely afford not to. given the current climate in our communities and country. Morgan, a high school senior, is a strong advocate for the differently-abled, volunteers as a peer support specialist and is looking forward to making a difference in the lives of her peers by advocating for greater diversity and inclusion. She is studying and gaining greater proficiency in sign language each year proving that with God's help we can do anything. Jordan, her sister attends college and seeks a degree in special education, prayerfully graduating in winter 2022. One day soon she looks forward to having a great impact on the lives of those whom she serves. She currently enjoys tutoring young students as a student assistant with her university. Both girls have been involved in ministry with me for several years now, and are excited about broadening the scope of their service.
Identifying as a Christian and being counted amongst the poor in no way excludes a people from having a voice and say in what happens in our communities, and in the country. Just as being an atheist and rich should not equal more influence. Despite what it looks and feels like sometimes, we are still a democracy. Our voices lifted in prayer effects change even when some may not be aware of it., Still, make no mistake our voices carry in the voting booth. This means we should be informed voters who vote our values, issues and concerns . It is always a good time to #watchprayandACT. I humbly present my voice as a mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, friend, and advocate because I have been called to do so. At the beginning of this episode I failed to cite Matthew 5:14-16 from the Bible. The version is The Message by Eugene Peterson. I chose this as my opening Scripture to boldly make it plain, my calling as a disciple of Christ is not from man, but God. He created me for these times just as he did any other in my life as those who truly know me may attest. Like Moses and every other servant of God I am imperfect, yet I am determined to move in this new territory himbly, yet boldly in Christ love. The people whom I meet every day are the same as you and I. Yes, some are amongst the 140 million who do not vote according to Dr. William J. Barber, and while some may not care, others have simply lost hope and faith in a system that has failed to see them. My prayer is that through Rev. Barber and others like First Lady Michelle Obama's or Stacey Abram's voter initiatives we see such a tremendous influx of NEW voters at the polls this year. Also, regardless of any outside interference introduced into the situation, that the people of our country who are not for the hatred and division constantly being sowed, the injustices, oppression and marginalization, will come forward and elect a just and fair leader for all the people, not a select few. For Scriptural reference on this subject see :Deuteronomy 1:9-18; Exodus 18:21, 25; Numbers 11:16-17. God's Peace and Love
Let's take a look at how we as Christians treat the strangers in our midst. This includes immigrants; the poor; elderly; prisoners; children; outcasts, and otherwise oppressed. Christians should never be afraid of growing, changing and improving for the glory of God. Front Porch Candor and I are a work in progress. We all are. ποΈ
We are currently living in times where the adversary has openly declared war on the people of God. Many unscrupulously utilize the same methods to silence, sew discord and hate that have been used for generations past. How can anyone stand in the face of concerted efforts to demean, discredit, disenfranchise, and dismiss individuals and groups in times like these? By leaning in to whom we were created to be as Christians that's how. We can unashamedly cling to the Creator, stand firm, and proudly proclaim victory over schemes to divide and conquer. When we wake up to the power of Christ within and begin to walk in it, no good thing shall be withheld from the sons and daughters of Christ. Our embrace of Faith in God over fear and our rejection of silly labels that the enemy uses to attack our self-esteem will turn the tide. Our children are watching. We can remain determined and steadfast in this one thing...we shall overcome.
How is the current division in our country affecting your community, and family? My daughters and I often speak about it alone, tonight we do it here on Front Porch Candor.. It is unedited (still learning), so yes we will misspeak at times. Case in point, we know that slavery as we know it in the worldly sense was/is not a choice. It was an act of brutality that has never been fully addressed in our country's history. There are those who could care less, others remain afraid of upsetting the proverbial status quo, and others who never really consider it. Being a spiritual slave to sin however is different. Secondly, sadly there is no cure for Aids, but thank God there are ways to successfully treat it. Next, when I reference the electric chair my mind reflected back on Just Mercy. I realize that only a few states continue to utilize this means of carrying out the death penalty. Still I am firmly against the death penalty in any form for several important reasons, but given our country's history and a still very flawed judicial system I cannot understand how it remains legal. Last but not least, to those who care...it's bacon-wrapped shrimp π. As I mentioned in this podcast, my family and I are following the leading of the Holy Spirit in reaching out in this manner. One of the most important benefits of having a voice is using it for good. Whatever this current season or any other has, we intend to be prepared. By the grace of God, and through Christ we intend to share and connect with others who have for too long not had a voice. For those wondering why? We too were silent when it was called for according to God's will, but now God is moving us forward in a new direction. We are eager to show that Christians will stand clothed in Christ's righteousness when darkness and chaos ensues. God's Peace and Love.
