Welcome to my podcast. This has been a dream of me and since we are in a lockdown here in South Africa, I have taken this step. Since we went into our lockdown I have interviewed someone every single day and I intend to do so for the rest of the lockdown. I have finally started recording the voice for these chats so that I can publish them here. So please sit back and let me know what you think, good or bad, I will use all of that to better this show for you.
Today I chat with Douglas, the MD of Splitting Image Taxidermy. Love it or hate it, Taxidermy is an art form in its own, and to see GOOD taxidermy really is something to enjoy. These artists can bring an animal back to life again. I would like to find out how and why Douglas began the business, a business that is internationally recognised. One of the things that really stands out to me is their professional image on social media, when a company goes to that extend, you know your product is of top quality.

I found JeanJacques by accident one day on instagram and man I was blown away. Here was a dude jumping of cliffs with a wingsuit, a local South African guy. I checked out some of his posts and I knew I had to get him on for a chat, and here we have it.

Dan is one of my very best mates and today we will just talk about general stuff and about his boxing photography. Dan photographs a lot of sports and action type stuff. The main reason for this broadcast is to test out the new streaming platform I intend to use. I can add my Canon mirrorless camera as my webcam as well. Today I chat with Aldri Van Jaarsveld. We went to the same school in Moorreesburg and we are from the same platteland town. Aldri is now a partner in a boutique Advertising agency in Johannesburg. Today I chat with an amazing South African artist, Conrad Hicks. Conrad is a blacksmith by trade and he forges amazing art pieces and tools with raw metal and iron. We talk about where he started and how he got into the trade, where he gets his ideas from and he gives us a quick tour of the workshop.
Today I chat to one of my clients, David Nieuwoudt from Cederberg Wines. They re situated in the Cederberg region, at 1100m+ above sea level its one of the highest wine farms in South Africa and that together with the unique soils, makes for some of the best wines in South Africa We talk about their unique Sauvignon Blanc wines.

Today I spoke to a childhood hero, Andre Snyman. Andre played for the Springboks from 1996 till 2007. He was and in my opinion, still is one of the best outside centers we have had in South Africa. We speak about modern-day rugby, what happened to him after his career and what he is doing today.
I have met Clifford and Maryke through working together as freelancers. Both of them write travel stories and articles and both work on copywriting for corporate clients. Maryke was one of my first chats during lockdown but that was on Instagram so the content got lost. Today we talk about the amazing distilling industry and some cool things they have experienced etc. Come and join us for this very informal chat.

Today on Lockdown Live I chat with a really cool guy here from Cape Town, Warren Baynes. Warren is a commercial photographer here in Cape Town and he shoots for Bird on a wire Agency. We chat about doing personal projects, how he approached agencies, and much more.
Today I chat with Pat Mcgowan from Blackbox. Pat created Blackbox to be a creator community where people collaborate and earn money together, They focus on stock footage at this time and its an upload once and they then distribute it to the major platforms. They have a massive portfolio with the stock agencies and they get first-hand info from the agencies as to what is needed etc. Blackbox changed the way I sell stock footage and it has done so for many others. If you are a stock footage creator, come and have a look. Also, feel free to ask your questions, we will answer them.
Andrew Aveley and I have been friends for quite some time now and we have shot together and drank beer together. Hopefully, I can join him on one of his trips one day, especially to the Kalahari! We talk about his wildlife trips mostly on this chat. Andrew was my first guest on the Lockdown Live show, but as it was on Instagram, it could not be saved for later use again. Se we just set up another chat.
Today I chat to one of South Africa's most well-known journalists, yet the people often still confuse them him with his colleagues ;) Toast Coetzer is a writer and recently a TV personality for Weg/Go Magazine here in South Africa. We talk about his history at the magazine and also how important the readers of the magazine are to them.
I had the privilege to speak to Daniel today. I found Daniel, probably like most that know of him, about 13 years ago in a flyfishing magazine with these amazing images of catching tuna and tarpon on fly, from a float tube! Daniel is a filmmaker, photographer, and great guy. We chat about fishing, photography and about his obsession with tarpon.
Today I chat to Bernard le Roux, a South African born French international rugby player. Bernard has 41 caps for France and has played in 2 @World Rugby World Cups. He has played 197 games for Racing 92 in the French @TOP 14 - Officiel We chat about rugby, how he went to France at the age of 19, how rugby has evolved, his debut against the @All Blacks Please leave your comments and I will pass it on to Bernard if there are any questions.

I had a good chat with two good friends yesterdy. Myself and Dan has been friends for a good 9 years by now. They offer a bespoke service to production and film companies to create content of what goes on behind the scenes at a shoot.
