This week on Author Success Show, we had the pleasure of interviewing the inspiring couple Dan Junkins and Jana Scholten.
Dan Junkins was diagnosed in 2017 with acute myeloid leukemia with only weeks to live. He now lives a vital, healthy and thriving life five years later. Terminal illness can be a gradual death sentence. After receiving his diagnosis, he was frozen, lost and speechless. This was his lowest point emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. As it turns out, it was a new beginning.
Now he shares his empowering story in his newly published book, “Peacocks Poison and Leukemia: A Life of Vibrant Health!” and shows how to be healthy and thriving. How he discovers the amazing peacock and its ability to eat poison, using the science of "emergence", drawing on his environment and relationships to resolve and move through the illness, his chemotherapy and blossoming new life.
Jana Scholten was diagnosed in 2000 with multiple sclerosis. She shares her powerful story of becoming free from multiple sclerosis in her new bestselling book “Enchanted Wellness: How To Go From Hating Disease to Loving It!”.
Diagnosed in 2000 with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis, and told she would be disabled in ten years, Jana challenged herself by training to be a triathlete over the following nine years, while still taking MS drugs and dealing with dizziness, numbness, vertigo, and massive fatigue.
At her lowest point, she discovered the powerful world of mind body medicine, taking on meditation and visualization practices. She also took on forgiving others and herself, releasing her from past abuses in her life. This path led to being symptom free, drug free and in benign status by her doctors. Her story shares the power of loving and forgiving not only others but also herself and her body.
On this episode, Dan and Jana share their recovery stories, they also talk about their author journey, how they inspire and empower people to live a vibrant life, and more!

We had a great time on the Author Success Show with Bob Wheeler, Financial Expert, Author, and Founder of The Money Nerve and we're so excited to share his valuable insights with you all!
Bob is someone who has overcome self-doubt and fear in order to pursue his passion for helping other people understand money and take control over their lives.
In this episode, he talked about how his whole world changed when he decided to take the plunge and become an author: new opportunities came knocking on his door, he got to connect with people he never would have met otherwise, and he was able to bring his message out into the world.
He also said that everyone is an expert in their own story. You are the only person who can tell your story so you may as well be the one to do it! You will be surprised how many people can relate to your story and will want to hear more!
Bob also talked about how small baby steps add up over time—you don't need to do everything at once. If you focus on doing just one thing every day that moves you towards your goal (in this case, writing your book), you'll find yourself at the finish line before you know it.

We’re so excited to have Paul Shapiro on The Author Success Show this week!
Paul Shapiro is the author of the National Bestseller, “Clean Meat: How Growing Meat Without Animals Will Revolutionize Dinner and the World” (published by Simon & Schuster's Gallery Books in 2018).
He's also the CEO of The Better Meat Co., a four-time TEDx speaker, the host of the Business for Good Podcast, and a long-time leader in food sustainability.
Paul learned that his first publishing company was cutting his book, and he felt dejected. But he didn't give up. He got his book back, and with it, he was able to use the power of storytelling to amplify his message.
His book also became an incredible tool for him to promote his advocacy as he works to stop the war that humanity is waging on the rest of the planet and its animal inhabitants.
Paul reminded me that it's not about how many copies are sold—it's about amplifying your message and using your voice to help others.
It was such an honor to talk with someone who has dedicated their lives to making the world a better place, and we hope you enjoy this conversation!

If you have been wondering how long it takes to become an author, let me share with you what is an ideal timeline.
Now, before I tell you the exact timeline, let me give you a disclaimer.
There is actually no such thing as an exact timeline. Based on my experience working with hundreds of authors, I kind of arrived at an average time period that I believe one should allocate for their book project.
Firstly, it depends on where you are at right now. Have you already finished writing your book? Are you still in the early stages? It obviously depends on that.
It also depends on how much of your attention you can give to this book project. If you can channel your focus mainly on your book project, then the time period will be much lesser.
Have you been hitting a roadblock with your book project more than often?
Have you been thinking of working with a book coach but you're probably unsure if that's the right thing for you?
Then this one’s for you!
I’m giving you 5 reasons why you should start working with a book coach!

Having a book does not guarantee clients for your business but having an author funnel does guarantee that!
Let’s look at the 4-Step Author Funnel system that I teach my students in the Author Success Academy.
Most writers worry if their book can convert readers into their clients. This could mainly be because they might have missed one or two important steps from the Author Funnel.
Now, let me first explain what these steps are and how you can start building them one after the other.

Would you like to learn the daily habits of successful authors?
Let us take a look at what are some of the daily habits that most successful authors follow.
I am a huge believer in daily rituals and habits and I believe that what we do on a daily basis is the sum total which reflects the quality of our overall life.
Daily Rituals also apply to book writing since the overall quality of your book will be determined by the quality of your daily rituals.
Today, I will be sharing with you 5 daily habits of successful authors.
Why your book will never bring you clients?
If you think you’re going to magically convert all your readers into your clients for your business, then I’m sorry, you’re mistaken.
That is never going to happen unless you follow the two methods that I’m going to be sharing with you today.
I see a lot of authors complain that although they’ve written the book, published it, and marketed it well, and even went on to become a best-seller, it’s just not generating leads for their business!
Now, who do you think is to blame for this? Definitely not your readers!

Have you been aspiring to write your book for a very long time?
Do you want to turn on your “Author Switch” that will move you from an aspiring author to a serial author?
In my academy, there is this one principle I teach which I call “Turning On your Author Switch”, and it has produced fantastic results for my students.
Today I will share this concept with you so that you can also turn on your Author Switch and get into Action Mode.
Are you a coach who’s thinking of giving away all the good stuff you teach in your book?
You know in your heart that it could be a good idea, right?
But you are also in doubt, beating yourself with the question lingering on your mind, “Will I ever get people to take up my coaching after sharing everything they need to know through my book?”
I sense your dilemma and I will attempt to resolve that for you!
To get you out of a tight spot, I will debunk a (nothing but a) myth and tell you 3 reasons why your readers will still sign up for your coaching.
Why establish your purpose for writing a book?

Let us explore a little bit about this concept of leaving behind a legacy.
Have you ever thought of what your legacy is going to be like?
I know that at some point in your life, you had.
In fact, most human beings have this inherent urge to leave something behind mainly because we understand that human life is not permanent.
Nothing is permanent!
Once we understand the very temporary nature of human life and realize that we are not going to be on this planet for long, it creates the urge to be wanted to be remembered when we pass away.
Because of this understanding, we want to leave behind some trace of our life that can be relevant to the generations that will come after us.
I believe this is where our need to leave a legacy stems from.
Now, let's talk about some of the common ways some people do in order to leave a legacy.
It’s a brand new year while here you are again writing on your goal list the same old reminder being jotted down year after year: I NEED TO WRITE A BOOK!
There are so many people out there who are so talented at what they do and are itching to write a book, but they can’t seem to take that one step to accomplish it.
Does that sound familiar to you?
Are you one of them?
Let me tell you the one thing you need to do to become an author THIS YEAR!
MAKE YOUR BOOK YOUR ONE THING!
I found a book that inspired me to talk about the concept of being productive. The name of the book is The ONE Thing, and it’s a fantastic read! The author teaches how to focus on the one most important task in any given project. And I would like to share my own ideas with you, which I, and other successful authors, use.
If you want to make your dreams come true and launch your book this year, you need to make your book your number one thing. There is no other workaround to it. But what do I mean about making your book your one thing?
Listen to this episode to find out!
Welcome to Author Success Stories!
Are you an aspiring author who has these self-limiting thoughts?
Should I write my book? 😌

In this episode, we will be talking about what are some of the attributes that you need to have to become a successful author.
After working with hundreds of authors, I have seen so many common traits that most successful authors have.
And I thought of just breaking it down for you to see if you might have already possessed some of these attributes a successful author has or if you might need to develop them.
I’m sure you may have a few of these attributes already but I hope that this will help you identify some of the other attributes that you might want to work on.
I would love to hear more about what you think about these attributes an author should have.

Lack of topic clarity is the number one problem in writing for most upcoming authors. However, we have to consider that for everyone, it can be a challenge to find a topic that is fun to write yet interesting to the readers.
What do we need to do to make it easy for us to choose our book’s topic so that our time and effort is not put to waste?
In business, we need to create a thriving network of people who loves you. We need people who are excited to hear from you and are waiting for your next product to launch. We need those who will not think twice about buying your products and services.
So how do you do this? How do you build your thriving community of fans that will buy anything from you?
Having a global mindset is having the ability to adapt, engage, and be accepting of traditions and cultural norms from around the world, being able to conceptualize how to create a positive impact in all and different environments. Embedding a sense of global thinking in your company and the way you allow your business to operate daily is the road to transforming your organization to fuel global growth. This is no simple feat, but there are several ways in how a global mindset can apply in a business environment.
Let me share with you the steps to level up your business and develop a Global Mindset.
If you have found this blog useful, then I welcome you all to attend my live WEBINAR where I go in detail and share with you how you can be a trusted expert in your niche in just 7 days! How do you tell if it’s time that you become an author? In life, we get messages or hints from around us. Some people or God, and even the universe may help shift your direction to becoming an author. However, people or these powerful entities won’t directly tell you to write a book and be an author. Instead, listen to the signs or the signals that are being given to you.
Let me share with you the 3 Divine Signals which will truly help you realize that it’s time to write a book.
Indeed, change is inevitable; change is constant. With the pace at which society progresses, business owners strive to find new strategies and ways to dominate their markets and they have to do whatever it takes to survive no matter how bleak the future might look for the economy especially these days.
Yes, times do get tough and always, we need to equip ourselves and our businesses to get ready with what the future has in store for us. Let me share with you here, the 3 Cs to Competition-Proof yourself in this new world.
A Thought Leader is somebody who is considered as an authority or expert in their industry. People look up to them and respect their views and opinions. They go out and speak on stage. They are Influencers with a huge social media following. These are the kinds of people who are considered as a Thought Leader.
However, that is the common perception of what a Thought Leader is. I, on the other hand, look at it slightly differently.
So it has been hectic in the past few months with all the tension and chaos due to the pandemic that has affected every nation worldwide and while a lot of us are lucky enough to be confined in the safety of our homes, most of us can rediscover ourselves in different ways.
Let me share with you here, the 5 deeper connections I've built in my life during the lockdown.
If you just started to work from home, you’ll find it’s not always easy. It’s nice to be able to lounge on your sofa and relax in your bed with your laptop, just typing away, or to be able to prep some snacks and eat it while working at the same time in your dining area. Sure! But then you begin to notice that you’re unable to finish your work on time. At one point, you’re happily typing up a report to present at the meeting tomorrow and the next thing you know, you are staring straight at your TV getting all hyped up with the soap opera only your mother was so excited about. You have practically jumped from one area of your home to another but for some reason, your attention keeps getting diverted to somewhere else that your mind finds more entertaining. You soon realize that it is more chaotic working at home than it did when you were working in the office.
So let me share with you what worked for me before and up to now, as I, too, have had some difficulties working from home.
At some point in time, we wonder about a lot of things going on in our lives. Are we leading ourselves to the right path? How does it feel to live a life more fulfilling? Often, we shrug it off and accept the thought that, anyway, someday in the future, we will get there and find our purpose in life. However, the question lingers, "If not now, when?"
I have been going through the same struggles, I have discovered something that helped me and I want to share it with you in this video.
We often ask our clients why they want to be an author. Most of the answers we get would be to gain authority, positioning themselves as leading experts in their industry. They hope to use their published books as calling cards to attract new customers in availing the services they offer. The question now lies on how they will convert their readers and followers into customers.
In our new video, we share to you the two effective ways to successfully convert your readers into life-long customers which will pave your way in becoming a successful author and entrepreneur.
