This week we kicked off our new sermon series through the book of Ephesians. MAIN POINTS from Ephesians 1:1-14 = 1) You have been chosen by the Father. 2) You have been forgiven and redeemed by Jesus Christ. 3) You are sealed with the Holy Spirit.

Church hurt is defined as when something happens to you at church that doesn’t feel much like Jesus. SCRIPTURE = Matthew 18:15-18 Steps to take: 1) Have a larger perspective. 2) There might be more to the story. 3) It might not be church hurt at all.

The Holy Spirit wants a FRIENDSHIP with YOU. To walk in the Holy Spirit you need to talk WITH the Holy Spirit. Walking in the Holy Spirit grows you BEYOND you. SCRIPTURE = Galatians 5:16-17, Ephesians 1:13, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Galatians 5:16-25
By listening to this message about sanctification, you will get answers as to why God wants you to grow in holiness, how fast you can expect it to happen, and the 3 primary ways this pursuit of holiness will come about. Biblical contentment is an inward trust in God's sovereignty and goodness that produces the fruit of joy, peace, and thanksgiving in the life of a believer, regardless of outward circumstances.
Contentment is NOT found in OTHERS. Contentment is NOT found in STUFF. Contentment is found ONLY in CHRIST. -->Philippians 4:10-13
Philippians 3:15-21 1) The MATURE in the faith MODEL that way. 2) The DISTRACTED are destined for DESTRUCTION. see also Romans 8:5-8
A grumbling and complaining spirit in effect denies God’s sovereignty over life and will keep you from fully living into God’s promises for an abundant life.
Joy is a settled condition of your heart and soul that responds to external circumstances with contentment, knowing that the battle is already won, and everything is for your good.
Therefore, the opposite of joy is discontentment.
Philippians 2:12-15
Humility is not thinking less of yourself. It's thinking of yourself less. Biblical humility is thinking of others more... and thinking more of others. Philippians 2:1-11
