This week on Star Trek Lower Decks, Captain Freeman gets her wish as "Project Swing By" is approved by Starfleet Command! The Cerritos has been chosen for the first mission to return to, of all places, Omara - you know the drug addict planet from TNGs Symbiosis? You would think the mission was a piece of cake, but this is Lower Decks, so nothing goes as planned - especially when a reporter from the FNN comes on board to do a report on the Cerritos and its mission. Not only does Freeman have to deal with a potentially damning interview from, of all people, Mariner, but she also has to deal with an old enemy of the Federation during a sneak attack!
There is a pie eating contest, there is great artwork about life on Ornara and there are great messages about trust and friendship on this penultimate episode of season 3, Trusted Sources!
Dan, Kasey and Bill have a great time talking about every aspect of Episode 9! From Starbase 80 to the planet Brekka, strap in and get ready for some great fun and discussion!

Mike and Emilie are back with Kate Mulgrew, Brett Gray, and Ella Purnell from Star Trek Prodigy!
The second half of season 1 is on the way and Mike and Emilie were at the press junket for the new season portion. Find out how the stars of Prodigy feel about the influence their characters have on the next generation of Trek fans.
This week on Star Trek Lower Decks, its time for the biggest sequel in the history of Holodeck blockbusters as Boimler tries to outdo Mariners first adventure Crisis Point. Captain Dagger (Boimler) and his crew of the USS Wayfarer have to stop the Romulans from changing history when they steal a device called the Chronogami! But after some devastating news, Boimler is more concerned with finding out the true meaning of life so he makes Tendi acting Captain while he and Mariner go on their own holodeck quest for answers.
With some great callbacks to almost every Star Trek movie, as well as some awesome guest voices, plus a cliffhanger to bring the house down, Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus comes at us at warp speed with some great character development and amazing visuals!
Dan, Kasey and Bill have a great time talking about a sequel that is better than the original (kinda like TWOK and TMP) and also some big moments like Tendi wanting to be a Captain for real and how back fat can actually show you where the secret of life can be found (and yeah, that is as gross as it sounds). We have a fantastic time discussing everything that takes place in episode eight of Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3 - "Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus"! Get your popcorn, take your seat and get ready for some great fun and discussion!

This week on Star Trek Lower Decks, it's the unexpected return of the Exocomp Peanut Hamper! After abandoning the crew in the Season 1 finale, Peanut Hamper has been floating in the Pakled/Federation battle debris field. She manages to escape a Drookmani salvage ship and finds herself on an isolated planet called Areolus (no really, that's what it's called). While adjusting to living with the bird like Areore, we see her start to change and look to redeem herself and the choices she made in the past....or is she? Plus, at the end of a great episode, we get a hint of a new super menace that we could see again in the future!
Dan, Kasey and Bill have a great time talking about an episode that really takes a chance, but works on so many ways. Although we don't all agree on how good the episode is, we still have a fantastic time discussing everything that takes place in episode seven of Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3 - "A Mathematically Perfect Redemption"! This week on Lower Decks, Rutherford is having some problems with his implants and when Tendi tries to help with a cache purge, things get a little crazy as a younger version of Rutherfords conscience takes over his body and fights for control. The two Rutherfords 'duke it out' in his mind and finally decide on a shuttle race to determine who will take over permanently.
Meanwhile on Tulgana IV, Boimler and Mariner are assigned to work the Starfleet Recruitment Tent at the local fair and yep, you guessed it - things don't go as smoothly as planned. But is it Mariner or Boimler who end up making a mess of things?
Dan, Kasey and Bill have a great discussion about the fifth episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3 - "Reflections"! Grab your best Voyager fancy uniforms, take your seat in the Delta Flyer and join us for some great fun and discussion!

This week on Lower Decks, Boimler, Tendi and Mariner discover a scheme by the dreaded Delta Shift to manipulate a ship lottery on some fancy new living quarters. They begin a quest to get to the one terminal on the entire ship so that they can beat the Delta's at their own game. Along the way, they run into some unexpected challenges, like a Holodeck "Bonnie & Clyde" simulation run by Shax and Dr. T'ana, as well as actually bonding with the Delta's - or so it would seem.
Meanwhile, after yet another possession of Captain Freeman by those pesky Masks, the ship is a mess and the engineering crew is at wits ends. She insists they all take time off to relax on the spa ship "The Dove", but it is soon discovered that she is more stressed out than Rutherford and his team members! Black Bander alert!!
As Sara heads off for her own relaxation experience, Dan, Kasey and Bill have a great discussion about the fourth episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3 - "Room For Growth"! If dodging bullets in a safety protocol disabled holodeck is your idea of foreplay, then come join us for some great fun and discussion!

When on duty, Boimler decides he is going to change his ways and be more assertive, and that quickly puts him in danger with an alien who has targeted him as prey! It's the explosive finale of Strange New Worlds! The future of the alpha quadrant balances on the terror of Pike's foreseen future as we revisit a classic TOS episode with a twist. And who is that commanding the Farragut? Is that...Captain Kirk? Is this musical captain's chairs? What is going on as we engage the Romulans on the edge of the Neutral Zone?
Mike returns for this episode of Discovering Trek joined by Yvette and Matthew who talk about throwbacks to Balance of Terror, New Kirk, and why Una has to end the series as she began...in jail.
The crew comes face-to-face this time with the terrifying enemy of this first season of Strange New Worlds, the Gorn. But the enemy might be much closer than it appears when survivors of a marooned ship are rescued by the Enterprise. Between La'an's past trauma and Spock releasing repressed rage at crewmate's death, will the away team have what it takes to survive?
We're joined this week by Ruthie from With the First Link who agreed with Yvette that this was a strong episode while Matthew was jarred by the darker tone. Do the Discovering Trek hosts find the beauty of the crew's resolve and self-sacrifice in the midst of the horrific story!? Find out!
The crew are transformed into the characters of the Elysian Kingdom, a book M'Benga has been reading to his daughter Rukiya who has also suddenly disappeared. M'Benga, and Hemmer, the only two crew members unaffected, must discover if there is a fairy behind this fairy tale, or is this just the effect of a failed experiment to save Rukiya's life.
Yvette and Matthew are joined this week by Yvette's co-host on SyFy Sistas, Tamia Harper where Yvette and Tamia reflect on portrayals of black fatherhood on television and the importance of black love as represented in Strange New Worlds inspired by Deep Space Nine.
Yeaaargh! Pirates sighted in this episode of Strange New Worlds as the Enterprise is lured outside Federation territory in a ruse to capture the ship! A potential ally turns out to be an enemy though to they do engage Spock in a fascinating conversation about false binaries he may hold about his own identity. Human, Vulcan, both, neither?
Yvette, Matthew, and guest Aiyana-Mei Tom, talk about the awesomeness that is Captain Angel, that steamy bridge kiss, and how the discourse of trans rights and trans identity helps us all better understand who we are.
"Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach" has the Enterprise intervening in a world that is outside of Federation territory. While the ship and crew have no jurisdiction here, will Pike follow his heart and violate General Order One to save a child, a civilization, and his love's soul?
Yvette and Matthew talk about the Prime Directive, our continued love for Doctor M'Benga, Potential Borg Origins, suggest a floating city should have railings, and try to figure out why cadet Uhura was given live fire phaser orders during a training day.
This week on Discovering Trek, Mike, Yvette, Matthew, and guest Jamie Rogers discuss the Strange New Worlds episode, "Spock Amok."
The crew brings the funny in this episode with swapped identities and Enterprise BINGO. Plus, we find out that Una is not, "where fun goes to die," because people are idiots!
What did we think of the episode? Was there too much funny? And who wears the green wraparound better, Mike or Pike? Find out on this episode of Discovering Trek: Strange New Worlds!
This week guest host Kasey Shafsky, Yvette, and Matthew discuss the next episode of Strange New Worlds, "Memento Mori."
You're going to learn more than you knew before about brown dwarfs and their significance in song. Starfleet also celebrates their version of Memorial Day, which has a deeper impact on La'an than she thinks. Oh yeah, there's also a battle with a species known as the Gorn... you may have heard of them before.
What did we think about the episode? How important is it to face our grief? Find out on this episode of Discovering Trek: Strange New Worlds!
This week Mike, Yvette, Matthew, and guest Mike Thurlow discuss the next episode of Strange New Worlds, "Ghosts of Illyria."
Everyone on the Enterprise is loving on light, except for Una. She's got a secret that keeps her safe but can save everybody else as well. Meanwhile, Pike and Spock are trying to conceal themselves from an ion storm and plasma creatures.
What did we think about the episode? Is it important for some secrets to remain secret or come out into the open? Find out on this episode of Discovering Trek: Strange New Worlds!
This week Mike, Yvette, and Matthew, discuss the next episode of Strange New Worlds, "Children of the Comet."
Captain Pike invites members of the crew to his quarters for dinner, and the party includes Cadet Uhura. We learn a lot about her background, including that she's not sure if Starfleet is for her. She's also a singer, but more on that later.
A rogue comet is going to strike an inhabited world and the Enterprise tries to alter its course, only to find out that there's a structure on the comet. While a landing party heads over to try and figure out why this comet has a forcefield, the Enterprise comes across the Shepherds, who don't want them to do anything to the comet, who they revere as a god.
Uhura figures out that the comet responds to music, and that is the basis of its language. Spock is able to break up the comet without touching it, using heat shields from a shuttle, making the Shepherds happy.
What did we think about the episode? Will Uhura continue her path in Starfleet? Find out on this episode of Discovering Trek: Strange New Worlds!
WARNING: This episode contains frank discussion about suicide and its role in Episode 209 of Star Trek: Picard.
Mike B., Tamia, Jamie, and Mike T., breakdown Hide and Seek on this week's episode. We finally find out what the trauma was that Picard suffered as a child... and it was shown quite vividly on screen. We'll attempt to tackle that as well what all of this means leading into the season finale.
How did we feel overall about the episode, and how do we think this season will end? Listen to find out that and much more on this episode of Discovering Trek!
This week, Mike B., Mike T., Jamie, and Subrina discuss the latest episode of Picard, Mercy.
As we continue to see the slide of Jurati into becoming the Borg Queen, Guinan and Picard are in an FBI basement being questioned by an agent that is taking the thought of aliens on earth very personally. Rios and Teresa grow closer and we all begin to question, will he stay or will he go? Soong loses his daughter but learns about his legacy from Jurati in a quest to move closer to the future that the crew is trying to prevent.
Did we like this episode or do we feel that the progression of the story is suffering? Find out on this episode of Discovering Trek: Picard!
This week Mike and Yvette welcome Sara and Emilie to discuss the pilot episode of Strange New Worlds. We've all waited a long time for this and are so excited to talk about it.
As Captain Pike is on leave, contemplating his future, Spock gets engaged, and Una leads a first contact mission that goes awry. Admiral Robert April sends Pike and crew out to find her and salvage the mission. While there, Pike discovers something about himself while learning more about some of the new members of his crew.
Was the pilot worth the wait? Is episodic television the way to go for these adventures? Find out this episode of Discovering Trek: Strange New Worlds!
This week on Discovering Trek, Mike B., Mike T., Jamie, and Tamia, discuss the episode "Monsters."
Take a walk inside the walls of Picard's psyche as we begin to find answers to the childhood trauma that's been a theme from this season. We find out more about Maurice and Yvette Picard than we ever have and see what's happening with our assimilated Dr. Jurati. Plus, Rios looks to be losing the battle of love over Teresa.
What did we think of the episode, and will our predictions ever pan out? Listen and find out on Discovering Trek: Picard!
To begin Discovering Trek: Strange New Worlds, we dive into the press junket for the show that we've been waiting for since at least 2019, if not 1964.
In this mini-episode, you'll hear from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, and Anson Mount!
What do the actors behind the scenes have to say about this show and their roles? What are their feelings about having a show created because of their prior roles? Listen and find out on this episode of Discovering Trek: Strange New Worlds!
This week on Discovering Trek, Mike B., Mike T., Jamie, and Fran, discuss the episode "Two of One."
The Borg Queen's interest in Jurati makes itself manifest in a big way, while the rest of the crew are trying to do all they can to make sure Renee Picard makes her mission. Soong, Q, and security almost stop them until Agnes makes her on stage debut. That doesn't stop Soong from his ultimate goal, though he may have foiled the wrong Picard.
What did we think of the episode, or for that matter, Agnes' pipes? Listen and find out on Discovering Trek: Picard!
This week on Discovering Trek, Mike B., Mike T., Jamie, and Subrina, discuss the episode "Fly Me To The Moon."
Picard finds out the objective of the Watcher and how they can work toward a common goal. Q takes an interest in Dr. Adam Soong, and Jurati takes an interest in the Borg Queen. Meanwhile, Seven and Raffi are able to rescue Rios, once again reuniting the crew. Oh yeah, there's a new Renee Picard in town, too.
What did we think of the episode? Do we like the direction this season is going in? And, what kind of fun predictions for the remainder of the season do we have in store for you? Listen and find out on Discovering Trek: Picard!
We always have a lot of fun on Discovering Trek, but sometimes an episode requires some serious talk regarding its messages. This week Mike B., Mike T., Jamie, and Fran, discuss the episode "Watcher" and its impact on us.
Raffi and Seven try to find a way to rescue Rios from the position he's gotten himself into, while Jurati needs to make a deal with the Borg Queen to assist. Picard works to track down the Watcher in Los Angeles and ends up meeting a young old friend who's at a crossroads.
What did we think of the episode? What do we learn about ourselves from the episode, and do we finally find out who the Watcher is? Listen and find out on Discovering Trek: Picard.
This week, Mike B. and Jamie are joined by Kasey Shafsky to discuss "Assimilation," the third offering from Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard.
Rios, Raffi, and Seven, must explore Los Angeles 2024 to try to find the "Watcher," while Picard and Jurati stay on La Sirena to see what they can find out from the Borg Queen. Agnes learns a lot from a partial assimilation, and Rios ends up in a medical clinic after taking a rough fall from beam in.
How did we feel about this episode? Is Rios discovered to be somewhere he shouldn't be? Listen and find out on Discovering Trek: Picard!
On this very special bonus episode, Emilie and Mike are joined by the legendary actor that plays Kathryn Janeway, Kate Mulgrew!

This week, Mike B., Subrina, Mike T., and Jamie discuss "Penance," the second offering from Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard.
Q is back and has thrown Picard's crew into a dystopian society. Picard is a warlord General, Seven is the President of the Confederation and Elnor is no longer welcome on a xenophobic Earth. The crew finds that they need to go back in time to set things straight, and to do so, need to enlist the help of the Borg Queen.
How did we feel about this episode? How is the crew going to react to working with the Borg Queen and how will they get back in time? Listen and find out on Discovering Trek: Picard!
This week, Mike B., Tamia, Mike T., and Jamie discuss the first episode of Star Trek: Picard, Season 2, "The Star Gazer".
A Starfleet vessel is set to auto destruct before we get to look in on our crew from last season over the previous 48 hours. Picard, Raffi, and Rios are all back in Starfleet, and Elnor is at the Academy. Seven is captaining the La Sirena working for the Fenris Rangers again, and Jurati and Soji are entertaining a group of Deltans.
A situation in space brings most of them back together again, only to face the Borg Queen prior to destroying them.
Picard wakes up to find things changed and has a visit from his old friend, Q!
How did we feel about this episode? What about some of the easter eggs and return of legacy characters? Listen and find out on Discovering Trek: Picard!
Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard is just around the corner, so hosts Mike B, Jamie, Mike T, Tamia, and Subrina, break down the trailer for season 2. Join us for this breakdown and get to know our motley crew of characters here on Discovering Trek: Picard!
On this final episode of the first half of Season 1, Mike and Emilie are joined by Abby Sommer to discuss "A Moral Star, Part 2."
The crew will attempt to get the U.S.S. Protostar back from The Diviner while also trying to release all the Unwanted from Tars Lamora. This will mean redemption for some of our characters and a new unseen one for all of them.
We'll discuss that and talk in depth about what we think the second half of the season will bring us, on this episode of Discovering Trek: Prodigy!
This week, Mike and Emilie are joined by Meg MacConnell to discuss the penultimate episode of the first half of Star Trek: Prodigy Season 1, "A Moral Star, Part 1." The crew of the Protostar are forced to return to Tars Lamora for the greater good.
Having learned how to work together as a crew, Dal and company prepare a rescue mission of the "Unwanted" on Tars Lamora. The Diviner, as expected, goes back on his word and demands not just the Protostar, but Gwyn as well. As he begins to leave, he destroys the power generator keeping gravity on Tars Lamora, but can't protowarp because the core has been taken.
How were the crew able to hide the protocore from The Diviner? Have they lost the Protostar for good? We discuss that on this episode of Discovering Trek: Prodigy!
This week, Mike and Emilie are joined by Jude and Brent Allen of the Murf's Turf Podcast to discuss "Time Amok." A tachyon storm threatens to destroy the U.S.S. Protostar and the crew needs to work together in a unique way to prevent it.
Each one of the crew is separated into different parts of time on board the Protostar, with their only way of working together being through Hologram Janeway. They each face circumstances they're unfamiliar with, while a new Drednok is being built in the vehicle replicator to take the ship back over.
How will they be able to prevent catastrophe? Will the crew learn from this experience going forward? And, will The Diviner once again gain control of the Protostar? We discuss that and more on this episode of Discovering Trek: Prodigy!
Discovering Trek listeners, are you as shocked as we are that this is the end of season one? More timey wimey activities with dire consequences are going on and what does this mean for the future of our crew, Starfleet and deep space exploration? What does that mean for season two? Does that mean that the shackles of the rhyming recap have been thrown to the wind? Oh gawd please let that be a yes!
In this episode, Co-hosts Sara and Kasey talk about all that plus what their thoughts are of the final episode of the first season of Enterprise and the season as a whole.
Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them for the last episode of season one of Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us if we can get back in time! See what we did there? :)
This week, Mike and Emilie are joined by author Jake Black and his 3 kids, Jonas, Rachel, and Elisabeth, to discuss "First Con-Tact." Dal comes across a former mentor and has mixed feelings as the rest of the crew meet her.
As the crew of the U.S.S. Protostar continue to learn the many things that their ship can do, they receive a distress call from what turns out to be a female Ferengi Daimon, Nandi, who essentially raised Dal before he ended up on Tars Lamora. Through this chance meeting, the crew ends up making first contact with a new alien species, but because of Nandi's scheming, break the Prime Directive in the process.
Was Nandi a good example for Dal's formative years? What does this mean for how Dal will act in the future? We discuss that and more on this episode of Discovering Trek: Prodigy!
The Prodigy crew is back and so is Discovering Trek! Mike and Emilie are joined by Kellyn Goncalves, to discuss "Kobayashi." The Protostar emerges from its warp 4,000 light years from the Delta Quadrant and discovers some of what the holodeck can do.
The majority of the crew wants to contact the Federation after finding out they've traveled faster than anyone thought possible. Dal isn't having it. In fact, after finding out about a training program on the newly discovered holodeck, he wants to show the crew that he's more than just a self-appointed captain. Gwyn is still dealing with the emotions of her father's desertion and wants to find out why the Protostar is so important to him.
Is Dal a great captain or just a wannabe? Will Gwyn unlock the hidden mysteries of the U.S.S. Protostar? Plot a course for Gamma Hydra, Section 10, as we discuss that and more on this episode of Discovering Trek: Prodigy.
This week, Dan, Bill, Sara, and Kasey take on Star Trek Discovery's "The Examples".

Plus, Culber is obviously feeling the stress as ships counselor. He reaches out to an unexpected source of help to figure out what he needs to do - namely Dr. Kovich!

In a podcast exclusive, Mike and Emilie have the chance this week to have a conversation with Dan & Kevin Hageman, the creators of Star Trek: Prodigy!
The conversation includes how they began their writing careers, what it takes to create an animated series from scratch and what it feels like to have their names mentioned alongside Gene Roddenberry.
We are overjoyed that Dan and Kevin chose to spend some time with us and can't thank them enough for their graciousness. If you're loving Prodigy like we are, you won't want to miss this conversation!
This week, Bill, Sara, and Kasey take on Star Trek Discovery's "Choose To Live".
It hasn't been all that long since the Burn, and well even when the Federation is handing out dilithium, odds are someone will show up and try to take it without asking. That happens this week, and someone pays for that...with their life!
All kind of things are happening in this week's episode "Choose To Live," from family reunions, to Romulan Warrior nuns (better known as the Qowat Milat), and even Burnham and Tilly discovering and saving a completely new alien race--in about seven minutes!
How did we feel about this episode? Listen now and find out!
This week, Mike and Emilie are thrilled to have Nami Melumad, the composer of Star Trek: Prodigy, for a special bonus episode.
During the conversation, we discuss her becoming the first female composer of a Star Trek series and what it means to have her name alongside legends like Goldsmith. We also chat about her being a Star Trek fan and why Prodigy has a special connection for her fandom. She tells us how she came to become a composer as well.
We can't thank Nami enough for spending some time with us for this conversation, and we hope you enjoy listening as much as we did talking with her!
This week, Dan, Sara and Kasey talk all about Star Trek Discovery's Season 4 emotional second episode "Anomaly". Book is hurting. Bad. Like a lot! His planet is gone and he has cut himself off from everyone, even Burnham. But he quickly volunteers for a dangerous mission to gather info on the anomaly. He will need help, so Stamets joins him on the away mission - sort of.
Plus, Saru returns to the Discovery as its new First Officer and is helping just about everyone with words of wisdom, while Adira helps Gray with his trepidation about being incorporated into a synthetic body and finally becoming 'alive' again.
This emotionally charged episode gave us lots to talk about, so we hope you will join us for some fun discussion!

For our final breakdown episode before the hiatus, Mike and Emilie are joined by Jenn Tifft from Trek Core, to discuss "Terror Firma." The crew faces their toughest challenge yet, find the U.S.S. Protostar and get off the planet before the planet strands them there.
A 10 kilometer walk that keeps changing direction is tough enough without a crew member with a broken leg who has given your biggest foe your coordinates. This time the crew is able to stand together to meet their challenges head on and be saved in an unexpected fashion. This leads Gwyn to have to make one of the most important decisions of her life.
Is The Diviner going to take control of the Protostar? Will Gwyn join him and bring the crew back to Tars Lamora? Set a star and lock on with us as we discuss that and more on this episode of Discovering Trek: Prodigy.
This week, Dan, Sara and Kasey kick off the newest season of Discovering Trek: Discovery and talk all about Star Trek Discovery's Season 4 premier "Kobayashi Maru". Five months after solving The Burn, Captain Burnham is working hard to welcome planets back into the Federation. As the Discovery welcomes aboard the new Federation President and heads off to assist a Space Station in need, Book heads home to partake in a special ceremony with his family. A new and devastating threat is discovered by the crew that not only jeopardizes them and the space station, but causes the unthinkable to occur to Books home planet of Kwejian!!
What is this new crisis facing the crew? How will Tilly and Adira deal with the rising tension of the commander of the space station during their away mission? And "Butterfly People" is definitely the new name for our cover band! We discuss it all, and we hope you'll join us for a great discussion on Discovering Trek: Discovery!

This week, Mike and Emilie are joined by Nathan Sherman and his uncle, TGPN associate producer, Patrick Escudero to talk about "Dreamcatcher." The young crew of the U.S.S. Protostar go on their first away mission since taking control of the ship... but it isn't the best of experiences.
Plants that can read their thoughts attempt to keep them all on the planet by seducing them with the things they really love. Gwyn, still aboard ship, is able to escape the brig and take over all systems, giving her the ability to tell The Diviner their whereabouts. Zero, Rok-Tahk, Pog, and Dal are unaware of this as they succumb to the telepathy of the planet.
Will the away team escape? Is The Diviner headed to the planet to take back the Protostar? We discuss that and more on this episode of Discovering Trek: Prodigy.
On this episode, Mike and Emilie are joined by Blake Rogers and his dad, The Divine Treasury co-host, Jamie, to discuss "Starstruck." The wayward crew of the U.S.S. Protostar begin to learn about their new found ship and the United Federation of Planets when they activate a training assistant for cadets, a hologram of Kathryn Janeway.
Dal decides that he should be the captain and proceeds to make a series of bad decisions regarding the course, ship board operations and interpersonal skills with the crew. Meanwhile, Rok-Tahk is tasked with keeping Gwyn under control in the brig and catching her once she's escaped.
Will Gwyn get off the ship and back to her father? Has Dal led the crew down a path they can't escape from? We discuss that and more on this episode of Discovering Trek: Prodigy!
This week, Mike and Emilie are joined by Trek Geeks executive producers Bill & Dan, to discuss the debut of Star Trek: Prodigy, "Lost & Found". Dal is one of the many "unwanted" on Tars Lamora, a mining colony, and is trying to find a way out. He begins to receive help and telepathic messages from Zero, a Medusan fugitive on the colony.
Gwyn, the daughter of The Diviner who runs the colony, is tasked with trying to get Dal to find Zero. She sends him with a Brikar, Rok-Tahk, and the two of them make a startling discovery, a Starfleet vessel U.S.S. Protostar. They enlist a Tellarite engineer, Jankom Pog, and an unknown alien, Murf, to get the Protostar flying and off Tars Lamora.
Will they make it off or will Gwyn and her father prevail? We discuss that and more on this episode of Discovering Trek: Prodigy!
So Discovering Trek listeners, it seems that shore leave is happening for half of the Enterprise. Rest and relaxation for some and a big ole nothing for others. Sato truly impresses the locals and Phlox needs uninterrupted hibernation nap time, but that doesn't quite go as planned. Well at least nothing goes wrong for any of the other crew while on Risa, right? Right?
In this episode, Co-hosts Kasey and Sara talk about all that plus what their thoughts are of the 2 dogs is this episode. And we ain't talking about Portos and Rhylo!
Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them for the penultimate episode of season one of Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come in your finest vacation attire and explore the First Frontier with us.

Oh boy. Discovering Trek listeners, join us as we learn a lot more about the Suliban. Not everyone has yellow eyes or genetic augmentation, as Archer and the crew find out. Archer being all Archery takes her on one last mission and flies down to Coridan, where things are not so peachy on the political front.
This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss captured crew, quick thinking, a sleepy returning character, plates of grool, a completely insulting scene, fake outs and the return of a beloved actor.

We hope this episode finds you well. It has been roughly 7 days since our last correspondence and there have been quite a few happenings that have tested our fortitude. You may think that exaggeration is at play in this communique, but trust us dear reader, that is not the case. Two species going in different evolutionary directions, a doctor and a captain both struggling with what to do and not do and one crew member realizing that he is not as alone as he thought. Welcome to episode 13 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise!
This correspondence, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey verbally write about the lack of relationships happening on Enterprise and the dilemmas faced by the first Starfleet crew out in deep space. Is Phlox obligated to try and save 50 million lives from a genetic disease and interfere with the natural development of the entire planet? Do Phlox and Cutler have a friendship or something more?
If you have not read the enclosed service manual... We recommend you do so. Life on a space craft can be as lonesome or as fulfilling as one decides to make it.
So much more to write to you, but for now just remember sometimes sharing a tub of popcorn is not just sharing a tub of popcorn.
XOXO
Sincerely,
Discovering Trek: Enterprise
Shhhhhh. We quietly welcome you to cold space where ya never know who might show up unexpectedly and then give you the silent treatment. In-laws? Nope, just your regular ole creepy aliens that seem to be quite angry that they don't know what Malcolm's fav food is. Does that sound right? Sure, why not? Welcome to Episode 12 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise!
This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss the yin and yang plot points that drive this episode. Two wildly different stories that go well together like peanut butter and chocolate or clash like beer and cake? We get some new weapons to protect the Enterprise and Reed misunderstands inquisitiveness in his life.
Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them before the pineapple sours and the aliens cause a ruckus on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!
Discovering Trek listeners, we hope you brought your 11 year Plume pilgrims with you to experience the time craziness going on in this episode. The ship almost blows up, time travelers actions that are befuddling and guests on the NX-01 that give us a serious and realistic view of religion in Trek. Welcome to Episode 11 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise!
This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss the interactions Archer has with a couple of time travelers and the repercussions of of those interactions. The Suliban return to save the Enterprise...but why?
We talk the above plus the "all in" nature of Phlox. Does the doctor ever not dive into life full force?
Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them before the plume has dissipated and the door is secured and locked on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!
Discovering Trek listeners, we hope you have your ears on good buddy, no Starfleet Smokeys in your rear-view and warp 3 is treating you nice. Welcome to episode 10 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise!
This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss the dangers deep space freighters encounter, two stubborn ship leaders, the mammoth portions Chef prepares, T’Pol having some serious hide and seek helper skills and the saving grace of having a thoughtful and sincere helmsman!
The Nausicaans are not heart stabby in this adventure, but sure are a menace. When a space boomer is supported by family how does that expand one’s opportunities? And who leaves a half eaten steak?
We talk all that, plus if you try to kill Starfleet members by suffocation but they manage to escape, you don’t get brought up on any charges. Really. That happens!
Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them on the long haul from Jupiter Station, on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!
Discovering Trek listeners, welcome to our humble shop and to episode 9 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise! This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss a first contact trip to the home of the Akaali. With a cloak here and a universal translator there, the crew do their best to blend in, break in and lean in.
Archer and Tucker make super unconvincing antique buyers, the alchemist Riian the smartest one in town is leading an investigation of her own and wouldn’t you know it, other aliens are up to some nasty shenanigans below the planet surface.
So how about we take the time to appreciate the intricate process of Akaali tea making and sip this episode without scalding our lips.
We talk all that and Archer’s weak kissing to cover not speaking the language skills. That’s not what native tongue means, Jonathan!
Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them for a mystery meal on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!
So nice to see you again and welcome to episode 8 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise! This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey dive into a story that at times is as cold as ice, but underneath shows character warmth and growth.
What do a newly discovered comet, an arranged marriage, open flame on a starship, a uncomfortable dinner party and a snowman have in common? This episode!
We ponder if the Vulcans are being nosy overbearing interlopers or are their frequent “happen to be in the neighborhood” coincidences really to send T’Pol secret messages? Travis and Malcolm get all suited up to drill some eisilium. A price is personally paid by this crew for not yet trusting each other and a thaw in relations is begun. Like a warm slice of pecan pie baked by chef, this episode offers some sweet comfort.
We talk all that and discuss the hidden sculpting talent of one armory officer. Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them, on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!
Well hello, we didn’t see you there. Welcome to episode 7 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise! This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey not so quietly contemplate the intricate relationships the Vulcans and Andorians have and what this first contact for Archer feels like.
With the introduction of Shran, Archer and the crew get an upclose and personal how do you do to Andorians and their violent tendencies and suspicions. Dang, the neighbors just can’t get along.
Does the latest episode of Enterprise beat us up with over the top tropes? Are the Vulcans the kind of guests where you check for all the silverware after they leave? Is this a P’Jem of an episode or just costume jewelry?
We chat all that plus who knew what, and the fantasticalness that is Jeffrey Combs. Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them for some not so superior reasoning and definitely not violent tendencies on this episode of Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us, you know you wanna.
Welcome to the overside and to episode 6 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise! This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey take an exploration trip to the great experiment in deep space, Terra Nova. Archer and a landing party have anything but a party on the planet surface and below.
Can humans regain trust of the Novans after 70 years? Are all our bridge crew involved in this adventure? Is T’Pol the voice that Archer needs to listen to? What price comes with colonization and does this episode of Enterprise wish we could see back, or did it taste like digger meat? So don’t confuse your path, settle on in and investigate this episode with us.
We talk all that and discuss the benefits Trek as a franchise enjoys with actors that also direct. That is no shale! Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them after tracking from Earth, on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!
Well hello there and welcome to Episode 5 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise! This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey keep their hands out of the magical candy dish and ponder the Unexpected. Trip gets a engineer's dream gig for a few days and doesn't come back empty handed. Did episode five of Enterprise leave us craving more story, nip our enjoyment in the bud or did it deliver? Get a comfy chair, settle in and gestate this episode with us.
We talk all that plus some other things like wall food. Seriously, wall food. Sara and Kasey hope you'll join them after a swaddle and a nap on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!
Hey there everyone and welcome to episode 4 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise!
This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey yak about Strange New World. What could possibly go haywire on an unexplored planet? Probably nothing, so why not have a nice ole campout. Hopefully Trip brought the s'mores.
Did episode four of Enterprise leave us hungry for more, scared of shadows or make us force a smile? Listen and you will find out.
We talk about all that plus other goodies. Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them for a tale by the fire on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come on. Explore the First Frontier with us!
Welcome one and all to Episode 3 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise! This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey beam in to discuss Fight or Flight. The Axanar actually show up, a slug that ain't having it, some really interesting crew decisions and dagnabbit the stars are going the wrong way. So how was episode three of Enterprise for us? Is it pie time or do we go to bed without dessert?
We chat about all that plus just leaving an invasive species on a different planet like its no big deal. Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them for a grand ole time on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come and explore the First Frontier with us!
Welcome to Episode 2 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise!
This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey beam in to discuss part two of Broken Bow. The first Starship Enterprise, a new crew and advisories and Trek's past. Come explore the First Frontier with us!
So was the Enterprise pilot second half a wowzer or a snoozer? What does the pilot set up for the series for story lines and character development and exploring the 100 years or so before TOS?
We chat about all that plus more goodies. Sara and Kasey hope you’ll join them for a spirited discussion on Discovering Trek: Enterprise.

This week, Dan and Bill are honored to have Noah Averbach-Katz join them for a special discussion about his time on Star Trek Discovery Season 3 as the Andorian, Ryn. The character quickly became one of the most popular of the season and Noah got to live out every Star Trek fans dream by playing a role in our beloved universe.
During our conversation, we discuss his fandom when he was young, what it was like to be directed by the Star Trek legend Jonathan Frakes, and what it was like to work with his wife Mary Wiseman, aka Sylvia Tilly. Along the way we also find out just how...interesting it was to film scenes with the Queen herself - Grudge the cat!
Bill and Dan cannot thank Noah enough for joining them on the podcast, and they hope you enjoy the conversation as much as they did on Discovering Trek!

PARENTAL ADVISORY: The following episode contains adult themes, adult language, and a frank discussion on child abuse and its aftermath. PARENTAL DISCRETION IS STRONGLY ADVISED.
Earlier in 2019, Bill wrote a column for the Official Star Trek Website titled, "What I've Learned From Saru." In it, he discussed what the Kelpien from Star Trek: Discovery has taught him in his journey living with anxiety.
As he continued to examine the character, he found that he identified with Saru in more ways than he thought.
This episode contains very personal and disturbing revelations about Bill's childhood and, as a result, we are cautioning parents that this installment may not be suitable for younger listeners.
In this very special bonus episode, Dan & Bill are joined by "The Mother of all Klingons," "The Chancellor of the Klingon Empire," the honorable L'Rell of House Mokai!! That's right, the one and only Mary Chieffo stops by to talk about her incredible experience playing this amazing character on Star Trek: Discovery!
The Trek Geeks were honored and humbled to have Mary join them to discuss what it was like to prepare for this role as well as how much she loves to engage with fans. It is a wonderful discussion that you do not want to miss!
