But what many people don’t realize is that setting boundaries is not the final destination, it’s the introduction to something just as important: using your voice.

Success looks different for everyone. It don’t come wrapped one way. What success looks like for one person might not be what it looks like for you.
See, we all might end up at the same destination, but the roads we take? They’re not the same. Some of us had to crawl. Some had to climb. Some had to fight our way through seasons we didn’t even see coming and for others they glide in unscathed.
My point is - so stop trying to copy somebody else’s picture — you don’t know the pain, the process, or the price they paid to get there.

I learned a long time ago - never to wish for what others have, because I don’t know what they had to survive to get it.
So today, I’m asking you — what does success look like to YOU?
Not your neighbor. Not your coworker. Not the person on social media. You.

She is a global grief advocate who trains physician fellows at Emory University and abroad on the emotional landscapes of pediatric end-of-life care. Most recently, Lanise became became the Co-Owner of Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Care of Georgia - offering comforting care for families during every step of their journey.
Lanise became a student of grief at just 4 years old, after a tragic accident shattered her sense of safety and family overnight. That rupture became a lifelong teacher — one that now informs the way she serves families facing unthinkable loss.

In the guest chair today is the radiant Dr. Sonya Strider, a certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist and founder of A Place 4 The Heart. In this episode, she shares how profound loss set her on a journey of healing—one that restored her hope and ignited a deep passion for helping others find their own path to wholeness. Dr. Strider’s journey into this sacred work began with a deeply personal story: the unexpected loss of both her beloved mother and father, just nine months apart. From that deep sorrow, a powerful sense of purpose emerged.

In this solo episode, we are stating one major point - “Don’t Quit” - “Get Back On Track”.
It’s never too late, it’s okay to start over or re-evaluate the plans you set in the beginning of the New Year.
We are now in the 4th Quarter of the year and many have given up on their dreams. Many are questioning was the dream real and many are ready to put the business plan back on the shelf, because obstacles has caused delays.
Remember, progress isn’t always linear, and every step forward is a step closer to your goals. Keep pushing, stay resilient, and don’t quit. The journey might be challenging, but the rewards are worth the effort.

Ask anyone in business if they’ve ever had to pivot and I’m sure the overwhelming response would be YES! Recognizing the right time to pivot is a crucial skill for both businesses and individuals. The ability to change courses swiftly and effective can be crucial to ones success.
At some point in our lives we’ve all had to make a pivotal decision, the decision to completely change the way we’ve done something or continue to persevere.
When businesses are looking to pivot, it is to help the company improve revenue or survive in the market. Goals for individuals are not much different from a business when it comes to improving or surviving when you think about it. An individual may find they need to change course after a pivotal life event, when things feel off or they’re unsatisfied -perhaps out of alignment. We can also experience some sort of inspiration causing one to pivot.
Regardless of what the root cause, it’s important to equate a pivot personally or professionally as an evolution rather than failure.

I’ve learn never to wish for what others have, because I don’t know what they had to go through to get it. We are not saying every successful person struggled, but for everyone one that didn’t struggle it’s possible 3 did.

One of the most frustrating things in the world to me besides bad traffic is having to detour because of it. No one likes to change direction or take a longer route, but we are often forced to do so at some point especially if you’re driving in Georgia. Life is no different. Detours are most times not expectant and can be overwhelming.
What do you do when life requires you to detour from your normal comfortable life? Do you freeze in time? Do you sit in a state of shock or do you fight to move out of your comfort zone, reroute and change directions? There’s a quote that reads,

In this episode, I had the honor of speaking with Ladonna Wilkerson Roberts, the founder of Austin Tyler Foundation Incorporated. Ladonna candidly sat with me to share her personal story with domestic violence and the tragic ending in 2004 because of it. We don’t share our stories for likes or attention, but to educate, bring awareness to prevent someone else from traveling this same path.
Through it all, Ladonna was determined and purposed to start a non profit in her angels name Austin Tyler.
Come sit, learn the signs and walk this journey with Ladonna and I. Learn how this mother, took what is one of the most unthinkable tragedies and is now on a mission to bring awareness of domestic abuse to women and their children as well as the community by embracing, educating and empowering.

Relationships often begin with so much promise. What started out as butterflies when you see them, quickly turns into you questioning their actions and words as they let their guard down and be themselves.
All relationships have their own challenges and problems, but a healthy relationship at the basis is often built on a foundation of trust, respect and two-way communication. Unhealthy relationships lack those key beliefs and may swap in dishonesty, contempt and suspicion. Experts call these hurtful behaviors red flags, which can lead to an unsustainable and unhealthy relationship.
In this solo episode, we are discussing how red flags can range from differing opinions to anger issues that turn into safety concerns. What does that term red flag mean exactly? Are all red flags the same for everyone? Is there every a reason to walk away, or does it ever make sense to address the red flag and mend the relationship? That was some of what Jane Marczewski doctors shared with her as she battled cancer. The question I’m asking you wasn’t a question for Jane, it was her reality. Jane, aka “NightBirde” was a beautiful singer whose audition and story left every person in shock on America’s Got Talent. I was so intrigued to find out more about this young lady and when I did, it left me in tears and inspired. This makes it quite easy to run from one room to another, leaving pieces of you in different places. Why is staying in one room important? It allows you to stay focus, it allows you to feel what you need to feel, and let go of what you need to let go. Ask anyone in business if they’ve ever had to pivot and I’m sure the overwhelming response would be YES! At some point in our lives we’ve all had to make the decision to completely change the way we’ve done something or continue to persevere.
When businesses are looking to pivot, it is to help the company improve revenue or survive in the market. Goals for individuals are not much different from a business when it comes to improving or surviving when you think about it. An individual may find they need to change course after a pivotal life event, when things feel off or they’re unsatisfied. Perhaps out of alignment. We can also experience some sort of inspiration causing one to pivot.
Regardless of what the root cause, it’s important to equate a pivot with business/individual evolution rather than business/individual failure.

In this final episode of 2022, we discuss why it’s important for us to make the time to reflect, reset and renew.
REFLECT on what we’ve learned, what we achieved and the things that may have called for us to RESET and change directions. If we make the time to be fully present and intentional about our growth we will start to RENEW in order for a rebirthing to begin. Understanding and accepting when we need to change The Path we’re on awakens a renewing similar to a rebirth that brings about new thoughts and ideas.
I've also included in this episode, what you can expect from The Path Podcast in 2023. I'm looking forward to new beginnings and blessings for each one of us.

In this weeks solo episode, I want you to imagine it’s just you and I on the couch having a conversation - we both know it’s a safe space - and we trust each other as we discuss knowing and believing that YOU ARE ENOUGH. What feelings enter your mind and body when you hear you are enough?
Do you know you are enough, more importantly do you believe you are enough? Even in your situation, mess or brokenness? You are not enough because I said you are..it’s just simply YOU ARE! Take some time to listen and start paying attention to the way you speak to yourself about yourself. Stop listening to the unsolicited opinions of others and instead focus on the things that you cherish about yourself today.
In this Solo episode I share points I know to be true that can help you learn to be content and satisfied in knowing you are enough:
This is not a huge one time event. As long as we are living we should speak positivity into our lives, as things change and as people come and go.

The month of October is known to bring awareness to many great causes. Today, my guest Mrs. Judith “Judy” Tanksley-Castro and I discuss surviving Domestic Violence. We also discuss her bravery and healing from sexual assault and substance abuse. It is our hope to always support and advocate for survivors, mourn those we’ve lost and celebrate those working continuously to heal and recover. It is essential that we keep spreading the word, as domestic abuse has risen since COVID 19.
Mrs. Judith is one of the most inspiring and resilient examples of someone who never gave up and will share her testimony to bring awareness to everyone who will listen. It is important to note that every domestic violence survivor’s story is unique and “after” isn’t always clear and safe. As difficult as it was to cover all Mrs. Judith overcame in 1 hour, it was just as difficult to know she had to endure so much starting at such a young age. But, in her words “But Yet I Live”. Her persistence and fight to live, allowed her to later accomplish goals she had as a young lady. Mrs Judith received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology and then her Masters Degree in 2019 at the age of 64 years young. She is not stopping there and now looking to relocate to the Atlanta Georgia area as soon as she finds employment in her field. One of the most frustrating things in the world to me besides bad traffic is having to detour because of it. No one likes to change direction or take a longer route, but we are often forced to do so at some point especially if you’re driving in Georgia. Our life's journey is no different. Detours most times are not expectant and can be overwhelming.
What do you do when life requires you to detour from your normal comfortable life? Do you freeze in time? Do you sit in a state of shock or do you fight to move out of your comfort zone, reroute and change directions? There’s a quote that reads,

In today’s episode, Shanice McLeish Author of Grief On The Playground and Founder of Grieving It discussed her passion to “Normalize Grief” one conversation at a time. Shanice and her families life was forever changed when she was only 8 years old when they received the devastating news of her fathers death.
Death is the one thing we all have in common and the one thing most of us wish NEVER to discuss. More and more we are realizing thankfully to Shanice that it is one of the MOST important conversations we need to have not only as adults, but with our children. Shanice said her business “Serves as a safe place for people to share their mourning and lean into their grief journey”. Sit with Shanice and I for a while as she recounts the days and years after that devastating day that pushed her into a purpose bigger than she could imagine.
Shanice’s book Grief on the Playground is necessary for all children who have lost someone they loved. It is a story which takes you on a ride through the ‘grief rollercoaster’.

We don't forget the pain, but we must acknowledge it and seek healing to avoid becoming paralyze from the pain. When one of the most unforgettable days of Erica R Walker’s life turned into a “forgettable”night - life as this planner and goal driven young lady knew changed forever. It was a celebratory time that turned into the greatest test of her life after she received a gunshot wound to the head in June 1, 2008.

Ever had things happened in your life and felt like it was fate or thought it was just a coincidence? Stunned with fear and emotions after hearing You Have Breast Cancer is what Hannah Hopkins Walton felt in 2017 after a doctors visit. Hannah wrote “I wondered about the big things. Am I going to die? For Dr. Nicole Rankine, she is “Adulting In Her Purpose” and loving every minute of it as she is changing the lives through the company she founded “The COLE Academy of Personal Growth, LLC. Although, “Dr. Nic” as she’s affectionately known as spent over 20 years as a Research Scientist, the only thing she’s conducting research on today is training leaders both young people and adults nationally and internationally.
Although, her career was good Dr. Nic was always a leader and never stopped looking to grow even more in her career. After applying for a position Dr Nic knew she was qualified to do and having the door closed - she took a step back and started thinking of what to do next. Ladonna is the real face of domestic violence and was inspired to start a non profit organization after the man who asked her to marry him, the father of their son, shot both of them in 2004 that lead to the unthinkable outcome a mother would ever have to face. Ladonna’s son’s father was an on-duty police officer at the time who had taken an oath to serve and protect.

Welcome to the very first episode of The Path Podcast
In this episode I will share the vision for this podcast and tell you about me, your host Arlene Bolden - Korleh. This episode will explain why I was inspired to start this podcast.
We have all a story that is our Path in life. Some of our stories are happy and some are not so happy, but they makeup our Path. There will be times when your journey is straight and filled with many highs and then one day you hit a bump or crash that knocks you off course causing detours and at times U-Turns. Life goes from DREAMS to DETOURS and ultimately if you do the internal work and learn the lesson it can lead - to Destiny/Purpose.
On my Path you will hear about how I rediscovered my purpose after a series of events, losing my mother at the age of 12, experiencing a miscarriage and a year later blessed with having our daughter to 2 years later facing divorce. Another major obstacle that I briefly touched on was being laid off 3 times in 4 years. I will share more about that experience in a separate episode.
You will learn when obstacles come how they have a strange way of redirecting you back to your authentic self who was always there. When faced with obstacles hear what we did to move pass the pain and disappointments and what we learned in order to grow and move into starting non-profits, businesses and purpose.
