When Susan sold her company, she thought she’d find freedom and clarity. Instead, she woke up to an unsettling truth: she’d lost her momentum, her confidence, and even her sense of identity.

This was the woman who once built physical tools to help people get “unstuck”, and now she was the one in the quicksand.

Inside ICONIC, Susan learned to stop chasing the “perfect answer” and start testing possibilities in real time. From coaching clients to taking on advisory and fractional roles. She let go of a self-imposed deadline to have it all figured out, and instead worked on choosing the next better belief and feeling, even on days when optimism felt out of reach.

You’ll hear how she rewired her mind to spiral up! Instead of down, cleared her home and office to reflect her new calm, and reclaimed the deep belief that her next exciting chapter is already unfolding.

Her message now? Write your own damn permission slip! And never wait for someone else to hand it to you.

What if your biggest block to raising money, or being the powerful leader you’re dying to be isn’t strategy, but your brain?

In this episode, founder John Cavanaugh shares how he went from exhausted, broke, and doubtful, to raising half a million dollars in one ask. And doing it with ease.

We don’t praise the hustle and grind culture in my podcast. Because it’s the fastest path to burnout.

This episode isn’t the “money mindset” affirmation fluff you see online.

This story is about changing your relationship with money and what you believe is possible around raising money.

And for John it happened in one session with me, with one thought. Yup, mind blowing! And this is the fast transformation we do around here.

After working with a variety of clients across the tech industry, I’ve noticed that almost all of them want to learn how to get more done at work. I’ve also recognized specific challenges that come up for folks that prevent them from moving forward the way they want, so today I’m sharing strategies and tools to help you.

I’m not teaching you a calendar trick; these are meta-skills to adopt that will make getting sh*t done a part of the way you operate.

If you don’t feel productive enough, aren’t getting things done you really want to, or feel like there’s never enough time, this episode is for you. Listen in and learn about why other people’s expectations for you aren’t the problem (yes, even your boss!) and how to take control of your time and get sh*t done.

Today, we’re kicking off a 3-part series on the results the five-figure investment in ICONIC creates in your life.

Starting with what everyone wants to know!

How my clients have made more MONEY.

Today, let’s talk about Financial Wins and examples of the 10X ROI you literally cannot afford to ignore anymore.

Here are just SOME of the incredible financial results my clients experience in our 90 short days together:

  • Brynn used to shrink in C-Suite meetings. In 90 days, she became a calm, confident executive and doubled her 6 figure compensation.
  • Morgan raised a round of funding and, months later, successfully sold her company.
  • Katherine didn’t wait until the typical year-end process to ask for a raise.
  • Pam doubled her 4-figure prices as a speaker.
  • Anna landed her biggest career contract ever, and it’s 6 figures.

What if the success you’re chasing is actually costing you your joy?

In this episode, you’ll hear how Anna Rembold, CEO of Metavent, was stuck in burnout, waking up with dark thoughts, and doubting the fire that once fueled her.

In just 90 days, she rewired her mindset, reset her nervous system, and hit her entire 7-figure annual sales goal.

This isn’t therapy. This isn’t years of mindset journaling.

This is deep, fast, lasting change. Because I don’t teach surface-level strategy.

I teach high-performing leaders how to heal the real root of burnout and finally feel powerful, calm, and limitless again.

If you’ve ever wondered “Is this all there is?” This episode will show you what’s possible when you stop surviving and start leading differently.

Divya had the title, the team, the family.

But behind the scenes, she was living by her to-do list, disconnected even during bedtime snuggles with her kids.

In this raw conversation, she shares how 90 days of executive coaching helped her stop betraying herself, speak up at work, and start moving like a woman who trusts her own timing around what's next for her career.

From a tearful email to a joyful gym routine, this is the story of what shifts when you stop grinding and hustling, and start coming home to yourself.

It’s time for YOU to do YOU.

Every decisive leader you and I admire isn’t fearless. They’re value-aligned and action-oriented. In this episode, we’ll unpack how to make clear, confident decisions by anchoring into who you are and who you're becoming.

You’ll hear about C-Suite leaders who delayed key decisions like hiring, restructuring, or funding strategy, and as a result, lost months of momentum, team trust, and in some cases, over a million dollars in missed revenue. And what shifted when they stopped chasing perfection and started making decisions that aligned with purpose.

If you’re overanalyzing every move or fearing failure, this episode will show you how real leadership is built. Through value-driven choices and bold, imperfect action.

Today we’re talking about how 100% of my clients gained clarity and courage to make MAJOR business and career moves. Those mind blowing quantum leaps that don’t come from more grind and hustle, faking it till you make it, or another certificate from the likes of Harvard’s Extension School, but from identity shifts.

  • Ali left Microsoft to pursue a health tech startup. She used OKRs and mindset tools to go from insecure and scattered to strategic—and made her dream real in 180 days.
  • Melissa was newly promoted and was building a department alone and ready to collapse. In 90 days, she rewired her brain, rebuilt her team, and reclaimed her joy at work in 90 days.
  • Pam was going to quit her job. Instead, she reconnected with her mission and now leads with clarity, calm, and confidence again in 90 days.
  • Morgan raised a round of funding, sold her company, and followed her dream of going to Harvard Business School in 180 days
  • Katherine was newly promoted and craved confidence in high-stakes moments like speaking to the board, and I was flirting with burnout. 90 days later she feels free, curious, and grounded in her career, and presence as an executive.

When my client Katherine Creech was promoted, she didn’t celebrate. Instead, she woke up in the middle of the night, gripped by anxiety about how to be “perfect” in the role.

In this episode, she shares how coaching helped her trade overwork and self-doubt for joy, self-trust, and a powerful leadership presence in the boardroom, with her team, and with herself.

You’ll hear how she went from constantly trying to “do more” to waking up each morning with excitement and clarity.

And why the most important relationship she built in the last 90 days was the one with herself! YES!

The answer is not about adding more certifications or skills.

It’s about becoming the version of you who already knows: “I am enough. I’ve got this.”

Do you ever feel like your career and life accomplishments may have been because of luck, chance, or your connections? Do you worry you’ll be exposed as a fraud even if you’re relatively accomplished in your career and life?

Do you feel like everyone around you is smarter, works harder, or does a better job than you?

Do you find yourself TERRIFIED of making mistakes and constantly believing you’re likely to screw up no matter how experienced you are?

If you’re a high achiever who answered “yes” to any of these questions, you may have Imposter Syndrome.

In this episode, I’ll teach you how to spot the signs of Imposter Syndrome, how it's holding you back in your life and career, and one simple, powerful tool to cure the thought that you’ll soon be found to be undeserving, unqualified, or a fraud.

If you’ve ever felt small in a room you’ve earned your way into, this conversation will shift the way you lead and the way you see yourself.

In this episode of Rock Your Brain. Rock Your Life., we dive into the real meaning behind jealousy and how it shows up for ambitious leaders like you.

Ever felt a pang of envy when a peer lands a promotion, gets public recognition, or effortlessly balances their high-powered career with a fulfilling personal life?

What if your jealousy is trying to show you your deepest desires and the limiting beliefs keeping you from having them?

Tune in to discover how to use jealousy as a tool for growing as a leader, to stop betraying yourself, and finally honor your values, beliefs, and desires to reach new levels of success and fulfillment in your career and life.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN FROM THIS EPISODE:

  • How jealousy is a powerful indicator of your true desires and values. For example, feeling envious when a colleague lands a coveted leadership role may reveal your own desire for more authority and influence. Or feeling envious about people who are entrepreneurs.
  • Why your limiting beliefs are the real barrier between you and the success you crave. If you believe you’re not “good enough” or “experienced enough,” you’ll subconsciously hold yourself back from going after high-stakes projects, advocating for that promotion, or becoming an entrepreneur.
  • How to stop self-betrayal and start living authentically in alignment with what you truly want. When you deny your desires or convince yourself they’re unrealistic, you betray your true self. Shifting your beliefs allows you to own your ambitions fully and take action to create the life and career you genuinely desire and love.

Last week's episode covered the truth that nobody wants to talk about. That women INTUITIVELY want to feel long term safety with a man. We want marriage.

How often do you feel hopeless, thinking the love story you desire will never happen? Do you catch yourself believing you're too old, that the right man doesn't exist, or that falling in love again feels too risky and painful because of past heartbreak?

The truth is he DOES exist. And the more opportunities you give yourself to change your beliefs, grow your emotional capacity, and experience the things you want most like being in love, the more likely they are to happen.

Many women have given up on love. 52% of women in the U.S. are single. Studies suggest this is due to exhaustion, gender role confusion, and a belief that feminism requires them to be “Miss Independent” and reject traditional roles. I will die on this hill!

Women have a need that is biologically WIRED to want to be chosen and feel long-term SECURITY with a man. We know this intuitively. We want marriage.

In today's world, with our financial independence, DoorDash, home security systems, and a great social life, it's easy to believe we’re "safe" and don't need a man.

Society admires "Miss Independent," but it confuses men who are wired to provide safety. Men feel pushed away.

When we believe we don't need a man we’re 100% lying and betraying ourselves.

Most women AND men are 100% out of ALIGNMENT with their authentic selves around love. This is one of the big reasons we live in an age of massive anxiety and fear.

You CANNOT feel SAFE if you’re in a relationship with a man who has not claimed, chosen, and is willing to provide long-term safety for you with marriage.

The women who come to me and say they feel safe without marriage, are the ones whose hearts have been BROKEN by the masculine. We heal those hearts in my 90-day program.

And if you’re dating a man who does not want marriage, move on. Find a man who is willing to give you that safety for life. You deserve it.

Feeling burnt out, anxious, and always needing control? Hint: It's a coping mechanism for not feeling safe.

Given up on men, embraced "Miss Independent," or stuck in a long-term relationship without marriage?

This episode is for you!

If you’re a leader in tech who wants to feel less overwhelmed, sleep better, and feel excited about your business and life, this podcast is for you!

When Morgan Hewett and I met, she had left her job at Facebook and was a co- founder and CEO of Options MD, a health tech startup. When we started working together she was building her team and company, and naturally was experiencing massive overwhelm and stress around this level of responsibility.

There were lots of emotional ups and downs, there was an underlying current of life feeling, “so- so.” Morgan wanted to get to a place of feeling excited and fearless about her business and life, and to feel that she could navigate it with ease.

We started tackling her limiting beliefs., also known as the "stories" we tell ourselves daily that keep us feeling overwhelmed and small. The stories that don't serve us in being the amazing humans that we already are.

One of my favorite questions I ask clients when they share their limiting beliefs is to practice this skill and ask themselves:

“Is this true? " Then ask, "Am I willing to see things differently?”

This skill keeps us from getting emotionally stuck, and helps decrease how often we feel stressed and overwhelmed.

We also cleared energy and limiting beliefs from her subconscious that were keeping her feeling overwhelmed.

My goal with clients is they leave our coaching container with the innate skill to identify their desires, go with the flow of life, and know how to navigate its uncertainty with ease, confidence, and excitement.

And YES, incredible Morgan nailed this!

In today’s episode, we are covering a topic that I have been practicing for years- dressing to create what you want at work.

Back before I discovered coaching, I used to show up for work in my home office in sweatpants. I didn’t get dressed for work and I didn’t consider how my attire might have been affecting my success.

But I realized that the way we dress is a powerful tool in creating the results we want at work. Our beliefs about ourselves and self image are reflected in the way we show up- and that includes our wardrobe.

Tune in to today’s episode to learn more about what your self-image is, why it’s in charge of everything you’re creating, and how you can create the results you want at work by the way you dress. (I even include an experiment at the end for you to test out the theory). If you’re a fellow sweatpants warrior, or you want to explore how to use your clothes to help you show up more powerfully, listen in now.

Hey Rockstars! I am SO excited for this week’s episode.

This week, we are diving into the nitty-gritty on how to say goodbye to anxiety, self-doubt, and stress. I’m going to show you just how to replace these thoughts with useful, positive thoughts.

Throughout today's episode, we will talk about how every thought in our brain is optional. Your brain is wired to do the easiest thing humanly possible to protect itself. I will walk you through a visualization exercise to demonstrate that the “Next” thing is not going to give you what you so desperately crave. You may be thinking, “I’ll feel less anxiety when I get this promotion.” Or, “I will feel peaceful as soon as I find the right romantic partner.”

Spoiler alert: None of these external factors will contribute to your inner peace.

It is up to us to get to a state of being where we are peaceful, powerful, and proud.

So often we have big dreams for ourselves, but when our brains don’t see any evidence that they’re possible, we let them go. We haven’t achieved it in the past so we don’t believe we can create it in our future.

There are completely rational reasons for why this happens, but there are also many reasons why we’re able to overcome the doubt and move forward. When you don’t honor your vision for yourself, you rob yourself of the unique reason why you’re on this planet.

Tune in to today’s episode to learn all about why we struggle when we don’t have evidence for making our dreams reality, what the cost is when we ignore our visions, and how to overcome the doubt and create that beautiful, joy-filled life of your dreams.

Today weʻre talking about what happens when you donʻt feel like you have any control at work. So often we go through life thinking weʻre at the whim of other people and things: your boss, your team, even your workload. When we feel this way, we inadvertently add to the belief that we arenʻt in charge of what happens to us- that life happens TO us.

But it doesnʻt have to be this way. In fact, a lot of the work that I do with my clients is getting them to shift to a place of feeling in charge and in control of their feelings and behaviors. Itʻs possible for you to do this regardless of the circumstances surrounding you.

Tune in to todayʻs episode to learn about the spiral that often happens when we donʻt feel in control and what I teach my clients to do to take back the wheel.

In 2021 I set goals for myself that were truly impossible for me. They were larger than I had EVER imagined and required me to completely change who I was to create them.
This week Iʻm walking you through what those goals were, how I approached creating them, and the obstacles I faced in the process.

It wasnʻt all roses and sunshine, but the result was a 72% increase in revenue and a 20% decrease in hours worked.

Iʻm also going over why so many of us are hesitant to create these goals for ourselves, beliefs that weʻve been socialized to believe, and the cost of not going after your big, dreamy goals. At the end of this episode youʻll have everything you need to take the first steps in blowing your own mind by the time December 2023 rolls around.

Everything we do in life is because we want to experience a feeling.

Many of my students desire to feel proud, wild, energized, determined, connected, and motivated.

And so many actually feel stuck and hopeless, and they doubt themselves.

Your ability to achieve the feelings and results you desire is directly correlated to the amount of times youʻre willing to fail and get it wrong.

In todayʻs episode, I talk all about what really stands in the way of what you desire and how to bridge the gap to get there.

There are times in our lives and businesses where making decisions feels really hard or scary. You might notice yourself procrastinating, buffering with mindless eating, or otherwise distracting yourself instead of focusing on the decision at hand.

This happens because so often we tell ourselves that thereʻs a right or wrong and we are worried about what this decision will mean about us if we make the “wrong” one.

Itʻs because you lack the belief and confidence you need in yourself to be willing to be wrong.

In this episode, Iʻll teach you about making decisions- even when itʻs hard- and how to have your own back no matter the outcome. Iʻll also give you tools to help you along the way.

This week I was in Arizona with my coach, Brooke Castillo and a room full of other life coaches; it was an amazing time and it brought up some things I hadnʻt examined in my own life by asking one question: Do you think youʻre extraordinary?

To answer this question, I looked back on how I have spent the last few years changing myself from the inside out and I know creating that change has required one thing: belief in myself.

In this podcast, I explore the process and obstacles we all face when we desire change, and I teach you the steps you need to take every day to cultivate belief in yourself.

New York Times #1 best selling author Adam Grant and Arianna Huffington reviewed this amazing new book titled, THE BURNOUT CHALLENGE: Managing People’s Relationships with Their Jobs.

THE BURNOUT CHALLENGE was written by two of the world’s leading burnout researchers, Christina Maslach, Ph.D and Michael Leiter, Ph.D, and I had the incredible honor of chatting with Christina on this week's podcast!

Listen in as we talk about four decades of research which found that mismatches between workers and their jobs predict burnout risk in six areas.

These areas include work overload, lack of control in your role, insufficient rewards for your work, socially toxic workplaces, absence of fairness in the team, and a conflict in values between yours and your employer.

I teach how to manage your brain and change your belief in yourself using cognitive tools, also known as thought work. Cristina and I talked about how you can get your internal state of belief and confidence in yourself in a great place, but when you get into a workplace where any of these six areas exist you may struggle.

When you find yourself in this situation, we talk about how to pivot and improve the match between yourself and the workplace in order to reduce burnout, and increase the feeling of being engaged and truly enjoying your work!

When you put yourself in this “straight jacket” of what you think is expected at work you hide a big part of your true essence.

These hidden parts of you that are light, funny, and silly, feel sad and a sense of loss that they’re locked away in this proverbial prison.

I encourage you to be a rebel.

Oppose the fictional authority created in your mind that being silly, funny, goofy, fill in the blank the ways you’re judging yourself and saying, “that’s not professional”..... are true.

They’re fiction. These “stories” are not supporting you in being the bad*ss you already are.

Bring that fun, funny, silly, goofy, “fill in the blank” side of you to work TODAY.

________

In St. Barts, thereʻs a candle brand out of NYC that is vegan and cruelty-free called Nomad Noe.

Inspired by little-known historical movers and shakers, each candle tells a story of courage and daring through exquisite blends of fragrance.

I fell in love with the scent called REBEL. Tuberose, gardenia, etc.

Here’s one of the reasons you experience feelings of emptiness, grief, and sadness.

You’re not being a REBEL.

The simple definition of rebel is to oppose the one in authority or control.

Now I’m not advocating getting fired or thrown in jail:-)

What I am suggesting is that you think about this.

Emptiness, grief, and sadness are clues you may be showing up at work acting in the way you THINK you should based on society's expectations.

I feel as an adult i have made these decisions like work, marriage that I have to manage and live with. She doesnt feel like life is fun anymore.

  • This is approved by society: Be smart, professional, and strategic
  • This is not approved: Don’t be silly, funny, or god forbid goofy.

When you put yourself in this “straight jacket” of what you think is expected at work you hide a big part of your true essence.

These hidden parts of you that are light, funny, and silly, feel sad and a sense of loss that they’re locked away in this proverbial prison.

You feel smaller.

Options are fewer now that I am an adult.

Think about those times and occassions when you felt alive. Married. College. Vacation. Be the watcher. How did you show up every day? General How did you feel?

I encourage you to be a rebel.

Oppose the fictional authority created in your mind that being silly, funny, goofy, fill in the blank the ways you’re judging yourself and saying, “that’s not professional”..... are true.

They’re fiction. These “stories” are not supporting you in being the bad*ss you already are.

Bring that funny, silly, goofy, “fill in the blank” side of you to work TODAY.

Encourage you to practice asking your brain each day this week, “ how can i bring my funny side to work today?”

Truly believing the authentic praise you receive from others is a skill. And why am I a proponent of this skill?

Because when you can feel in your body that the praise you receive is truly who you are, you can start to align and show up in your life as who you authentically are. When you believe the praise, you have another tool to help you drop self judgment and criticism about yourself.

This is a skill to build ONLY in addition with YOU deciding what you want to believe about yourself. That you’re smart, kind, amazing, all the things.

When you show up in your life feeling in your body solid beliefs about who you are, it will be easier to honor what you crave and desire for your life and make them a reality.

Whether it's being in a romantic relationship, making more money, traveling to that exotic place you’ve been dying to explore, leaving corporate America to become an entrepreneur, work/life balance, you name it.

There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world with mid- term elections around the corner, the challenged global economy, and so much more.

Feeling calm and capable in uncertainty is a skill, and it starts with learning how to trust yourself.

When you feel in your body that you trust yourself, which may look like going to the gym or honoring a date with a friend even if you don’t want to, you are practicing the skill of trusting yourself.

Trusting yourself is honoring your word to yourself. It is learning how to break down the beliefs that your kids, your partner, your company take priority over you.

You are learning how to make yourself #1.

When you honor your word to yourself, you’ll be equipped to feel calm in the midst of uncertainty whether it’s out in the world, in relationships, your career, anywhere!

Would you believe me if I told you that when you trust yourself, your desires in life become possible?

It's true.

As trust is the firm belief in the reliability, truth, and ability of someone or something - if you trust yourself then you can have desires and choices that align with your word.

In this episode, I'll share some examples of what life looks like when you don't trust yourself and 3 tools to build trust in yourself.

We have entered another period of unprecedented instability. The stock market roller coaster, corporate layoffs, the war in Ukraine, the worst hurricanes on record, and yes, the list is long.

It’s time for a “greatest hits” podcast that will teach you the skills you need to face uncertainty.

We think instability and uncertainty are wrong. We wish they’d go away and be replaced by more certain stock markets, job markets, and yes, weather.

Instead of wishing that these things that are out of your control would stabilize, visualize yourself as an advanced surfer easily riding the ups and downs of the waves. And that sway of your body as you ride those waves will keep you upright.

The truth is uncertainty is a feeling in your body created by thoughts in your brain. In this episode, we’ll walk through an incredibly powerful tool to face and overcome the feeling of uncertainty in any part of your life.

Y’all - I’m serious this tool is so powerful and empowering, I became emotional talking about it in this episode. It’s a must listen especially as we begin year three of the global pandemic.

If you or folks on your team consider themselves high achievers ready for that next promotion, but find it challenging to identify strategies to build relationships in this hybrid or remote first work world, this episode is for you. Those days of building relationships with management in the hallway, the proverbial “water cooler” moments, are now few and far between.

I’m sitting down with my colleague Stacy Mayer, a Certified Executive Coach and Promotion Strategist who is on a mission to bring more diversity to the leadership table. Stacy and I talk about a strategy she came up with to help folks build trust with leadership, get promoted, and prevent burnout.

Listen in as we dive into the challenges of the hybrid work world for high achievers, and how simple 15-Minute Ally Meetings can accelerate landing promotions.

What you’ll learn:

  • Why your brain tricks you into believing it’s difficult in hybrid or remote work to build relationships
  • What are 15-Minute Ally Meetings and why this strategy was created
  • How 15-Minute Ally Meetings actually work
  • What kind of amazing results you can expect using this strategy

There’s not ONE human on this planet who has escaped some level of trauma and shame. Trauma and shame keep us small, scared, and filled with insecurities, and self doubt.Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event like an accident, crime, a relationship breakup, death, or living through a natural disaster.  The shamed person doesn’t trust themselves, is always trying to fix themselves, and doesn’t know how to protect themselves from emotional harm.  And want to know part of why you’re feeling burnt out? Yup shame and trauma.Trauma increases shame, and shame increases trauma.Yet most of us would rather not talk about either of these topics. They’re taboo.

WHY?

Why would we not want to talk about something that everyone experiences? Why would we not want to talk about what  keeps each of us to varying degrees feeling scared, living small lives, and not enjoying our current life. So many of us wish we were someone else with their better life?!

Here’s why.

Because talking about shame and trauma leaves us feeling uncomfortable and vulnerable. We fear our feelings. As a shame researcher, Brene Brown started the conversation about shame in 2014 with her Ted Talk, “Listening to Shame”. Thank you Brene!I invite you to start a movement and change the collective narrative around shame and trauma.Embrace the discomfort of being vulnerable, and start talking about shame and trauma.  We ALL experience it. It’s a part of the human experience. You are not alone in this one.  Be brave and talk to 5 people this week about their experiences. Be kind and loving with yourself and each other as you each share.

You’ll feel more amazing love and connection in your life when you do this.

Let’s destigmatize  this sh*t we carry around daily like a heavy backpack on our backs, weighing us down, keeping work and our lives feeling hard.

This week I’m offering you a brand new way to start meeting the parts of you that experience trauma and shame so you can see, love, and accept all of your amazing self.

Seeing your own magnificence will help you trust your dreams and desires for your career, and build a big juicy life you’re passionately in love with.

Most of us are learning new ways to manage ourselves in hybrid work.

The good news is that you can navigate the hybrid workplace easily when you understand your beliefs and how you show up in this new world.

There are three skills and beliefs that are helping my clients thrive and feel ease at work.

The first is curiosity which is your willingness to learn and grow. Hybrid work calls for learning on your own. Yup, you’re now more like a self-motivated student: asking why, and being proactive about investing in your own expertise and figuring things out.

The second is empathy. Social interactions are complex, and full of ambiguities. This is even more true when you can’t be face to face, when you’re meeting people online and offline at once, and when you have to try and figure out what others want. How can you know if your boss is happy with your work? How do you know what your client really wants? How can you tell if your teammate is upset about something you said?

The third is being open to experience. The rules and norms at work have changed and you’ll thrive if you can force yourself to learn, and do things that challenge who you think you are. Do things that challenge your beliefs about yourself. If you think of yourself as an introvert or shy, chat with people that aren’t on your team. Volunteer yourself for new deliverables you’ve never done before. The goal is to ensure that you’re exposing yourself to new and different. This is how you change who you are. This is how you can feel ease in hybrid work.

You and your teams have enough time every day to get what you need to get done. Oftentimes there’s a sense of urgency to get things done quickly, but what if you were curious about that? Why do you and your teams feel you have to complete the P1s and then immediately tackle the P2s and then the next P’s?

We’re conditioned by capitalism, and especially in the tech industry to move fast. Think about Mark Zuckerberg’s iconic phrase, “move fast and break things…” We have been conditioned to believe success equals approaching work with speed.

BUT the secret I’m offering to you today is that being slow, steady, and consistent is a healthier and more productive mindset that will actually help you get way more things done in a day. And create a delicious balance between your work, and everything you desire outside of it.

The patriarchy, capitalism, religion, and our schools feed us beliefs from the day we’re born that we grow up to believe to be universal truths. Beliefs like you must work hard to be successful, don’t waste time, be modest - don’t brag or be too confident. Yet 95% of our beliefs don’t serve us in creating that career and life we see  “other” humans can have, but don’t believe that could ever be us. .

These beliefs are why we feel empty- -  like our soul has been snatched out of our bodies. We think if we change something outside of us like get that promotion, make more money, work for a new boss, or change companies we’ll finally feel fulfilled and at peace.

These universal beliefs which I refer to as “stories” are why you feel overwhelmed, burnout, and empty. And so with thought work, we can go into our brain to understand what’s going on.

This week I’m offering you a brand new way to stop fondling and believing your brain’s “stories”, and decide to love yourself enough to start creating that career and life that feels in balance, peaceful, and powerful. Let’s do this!

Human life is filled with nothing but decisions. We make thousands of decisions a day from what we eat to whether to see a doctor about a health concern. Yet, so many of us make a million excuses to not make a decision about something important in our lives from whether we risk getting cancer to showing up exhausted at work, or in our relationships.

We believe our brains “stories” which show up as big fat excuses. And the cost of listening to these “stories” can be devastating.

We’re constantly trying to control how we look, what other people think, feel, and do, the environment around us, our family, friends, loved ones, and even strangers because we fear the feelings we need to feel around decision making. But as with anything in thought work, we have to dig deeper into our brain to understand what’s going on.

This week I’m offering you a brand new way to stop making excuses, and decide to love yourself enough to start being a decision making machine so you can create that life that feels balanced and amazing!

This week I’m celebrating three years of coaching myself and being coached by a handful of amazing coaching I work with weekly. And this celebration and reflection of the past three years inspired for the podcast this week - figuring out when it’s worth doing something even though it feels hard.

We’re socially conditioned to go the easy route and lean away from difficulty. In the podcast today I’m going to walk you through the steps to understand when it is productive and helpful to decide to do something hard.

It’ll be important to ask yourself throughout the decision process:

Does it feel hard in a way that is worthwhile?
Is this difficulty tied to a larger goal or greater picture?

If the answers are yes, then doing the hard thing will f*ing pay off in growth and self awareness.

I've heard from so many clients, colleagues, and friends that they are just feeling burnt the f*ck out at work. So this week I'm sharing one of my favorite episodes of the Rock Your Brain. Rock Your Life podcast - Freedom At Work.

My students often come to me with many negative thoughts surrounding work. They are badass women in tech and oftentimes they expect themselves to be delivering A+, perfect work all the time. The stress that this mindset creates often follows them around, not allowing them to "Turn Off" and find freedom.

How do you find freedom at work then Sarah?

B-minus work baby.

From one week of thought work, one of my students in the Rockstar Program has trained her brain to believe that B- work is ENOUGH and now she feels freedom and a sense of calm at work.

Today I am sharing how to do that with you. This is the power of believing that B minus work is enough and how you can use it to drop the shame and self-doubt you’re experiencing at work and replace it with a feeling of freedom as you go about your day.

It’s time to talk about why you need to be an unpaid influencer.

I’m an unpaid influencer for Due Lipa, Elon Musk, Sara Blakely, and of course JLO.

I know what you’re thinking - what? Why would you be an unpaid influencer?

Well, being an unpaid influencer has brought me to where I am today - where you are today, listening to my 101st podcast episode... something I was scared shitless to do just two years ago when I started.

I stay grounded in the belief that I’ve done hard things I’ve never done before. And to propel me through my goal and journey of becoming a life coach, I looked for humans who are doing just that, doing hard sh*t that has never been done before.

And I visualize, talk about, and envision, and embody how I am already like these inspiring humans.

I encourage you to find those humans who inspire you and know that there is something in them that is already who you are right now.

Listen to the podcast to hear the exercise to uncover who you’re inspired by and an unpaid influencer for and how it can change your f*ing life.

If you ever feel like crumpling on the floor from exhaustion, overwhelm, and stress and don't know how you'll overcome it - this is a must listenepisode.

Melissa's story is relatable and she has some inspiring insights, including her take on Operation LTD (Live the Dream) - which I've incorporated into my daily thought work and life.

Do y'all remember being in high school and playing sports or being a part of a group and wanting more? Thinking that if you get onto Varsity or get into that 'cool group' that you'd feel happier or life would be better?

As adults, we are rewarded as a society when we climb the ranks of the ladder whether it's socioeconomic status, career, the house we buy, etc.

The main reason we think we want to climb the ladder and get the next rung, is because we are hardwired to feel a sense of belonging. And with each rung, we enter a new 'pack' or group.

So we are inundated daily with messages to get that next promotion, find that new job, start that new hot career. What our brain and society has told us to believe is that we climb the ladder, we'll have more respect, make more money, work will feel better, we'll be happier, and life will be easy.

But this is a big fat lie. When we climb the ladder to rid ourselves of insecurity - we burn ourselves out because we take the same shitty feelings with us when we get to the next rung. And we have to remember that the outside circumstance can't change what is going on internally.

This is when burnout happens.

And the only thing that can change a feeling are your beliefs. So listen for the 4 concrete steps to take when going for a new goal:

  1. Start with your why - are you following a desire?

  2. What do you choose to think?

  3. How do you want to feel?

  4. Who do you need to stop being, to get there?

Remember that the reasons to climb any ladder are to access fun, love, curiosity, and a place of believing "I'm enough."

Today's episode is all about reconnecting with or creating for the first time, what you want your life to look like - outside of work.

We've been socialized look externally to understand who we are. But this gets us stuck in an identity that might not always serve us. Like, "I'm a CEO" or "I'm an entrepreneur."

Now don't get me wrong. Those are awesome things to be... but it's time to disconnect our identity from that and create an identity that feels exciting. This, my friends, will bring us some magic to our life and help us reprioritize how we spend our time.

I'll walk you through 10 questions to get to your true essence.

  1. Who are you beyond your socialized identities and conditioning
  2. Who are you beyond what others told you?
  3. Who are you outside of your practiced thoughts about who you are?
  4. Who are you when you go beyond time and space?
  5. Who are you beyond delusions?
  6. Who are you when you’re free?
  7. Who are you really?
  8. Who are you really?
  9. Who are you really?
  10. Who are you really?

(^ yes that last question is asked four times, trust me it will really help you get to the root of you.)

Next we'll create your "Operation Live the Dream."

You'll uncover, when you are plugged into your true essence, what it feels like in your body.
And from that point how to follow your desires, cravings, and yearnings.

As you do this practice, come back to your body. Listen to what your body is telling you about what you desire and what you want to bring into your life.

Once you’ve found that essence. Visualize yourself at age 90 and ask yourself - what would you regret that you had not done in your life.

And write, explore, get to know what your life outside of work can look like for you.

This week we're diving into our desires: identifying them, trusting them, and savoring the yumminess of just the feeling of wanting something - even if we don't achieve or get it.

Would you believe me if I told you desires are medicine for your heart, your soul, your brain, your life?

Probably not right? But they ARE.

Society has conditioned us to suppress our desires. To keep them secret.

This rids us of the medicine desires can bring us. The illumination they have on what we REALLY want in life.

Listen to this episode to identify your desires and understand how to feel and enjoy the yumminess of desires without having to actualize them.

I used to joke that as a woman in the tech industry, believing I wasn't smart enough was just an occupational hazard.

You’re surrounded by the most brilliant people on the planet every day is pretty amazing right?

...at least until the constant compare-and-despair sets in.

The funny thing about Insecure Overachiever Syndrome is that your brain is actually TRYING to help you, it’s just not particularly effective.

The good news is there is an antidote to Insecure Overachiever Syndrome. If compare-and-despair is the problem, then the solution and tool is called Compare-and-Explore.

Today, I want to talk about why I quit drinking, and why it’s not for the reasons you think. If you’ve ever been sober-curious or thought about making your drinking more conscious, this is for you baby!

I started drinking when I was 15, and this week I am officially celebrating two years without alcohol. I quit drinking not because I had a problem or worried about alcoholism, but just because it made me feel like shit.

Was quitting easy?

Of course not.

I experienced a lot of resistance from my puppy brain. I worried that I would become an outcast to my friends. I worried about what society would think of me. And what was I to do after a long day?

Quitting drinking wasn't easy but it was 100% worth it. I wake up every morning with a clear sparkly brain and ready to tackle the day.

My students often come to me with many negative thoughts surrounding work. They are badass women in tech and oftentimes they expect themselves to be delivering A+, perfect work all the time. The stress that this mindset creates often follows them around, not allowing them to "Turn Off" and find freedom.

How do you find freedom at work than Sarah?

B-minus work baby.

From one week of thought work, one of my students in the Rockstar Program has trained her brain to believe that B- work is ENOUGH and now she feels freedom and a sense of calm at work.

Today I am sharing how to do that with you. This is the power of believing that B minus work is enough and how you can use it to drop the shame and self-doubt you’re experiencing at work and replace it with a feeling of freedom as you go about your day.

Last week we talked about how self-confidence is a SKILL we learn when we tell our brain to believe powerful thoughts about who we are, learn how to trust ourselves and follow through on our word, and practice feeling fear.

Today I am talking about three lessons + tools you NEED to know to build your confidence.

  1. Building belief is a PROCESS
  2. Mastering the skill of actually FEELING your feelings
  3. Fail A LOT & fail well

Sounds a little crazy right?

That's what I thought when I first started to build confidence as well. However, I GUARANTEE that if you implement these three lessons into your life you will see MASSIVE RESULTS in building your self-confidence

Most of us aren’t self-confident, and why is that? Because we don’t trust ourselves.

So many of you have the beliefs of I’m not smart enough, I’m not doing enough, I don’t have enough time, I need to get more done.

I used to feel this every day, so I know how painful it feels to be thinking this day in and day out.

In this episode, I want to teach you how to drop all of that and build your confidence.

Your brain does NOT produce self-confidence naturally. Self-confidence is a skill that takes consistent practice + discipline.

This month in the Rockstar Program, we are challenging ourselves to do one thing that scares us every day to overcome fear and build self-confidence. I am challenging you to join us. Send me a message at sarahmoodycoach@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram @sarahlmoody and let me know what fear you are overcoming today.

Last week I hosted the first Sarah Moody Coaching: Train Your Brain Workshop.

In this powerful 5-day training I got to teach women my most powerful tools. Throughout the week I watched them all gain a sense of confidence + calm.

One of the tools I taught on day 1 was to Borrow Belief. Essentially if they didn't believe in themselves to do the hard thing. I encouraged them to borrow belief from me because I believe they can do ANYTHING.

In today's episode, I'm sharing that same tool with you. This is the number one strategy I used when I was training my own brain 2 years ago. I was open to borrowing belief from my coach that I could do hard things.

And guess what y'all?

I DID

I no longer have to borrow belief because I know I am fully worthy and capable of anything I set my mind to. And you are too. If you don't believe it quite yet, go ahead and borrow this belief from me.

You need to tell your brain to stop being worried about what other people think.
I too used to be embarrassed about having a life coach. I had gone my whole life in therapy, and I wasn't afraid to admit it. I would tell anyone that I was in therapy.

What was so different about therapy and life coaching in my brain?

NEWSFLASH

My puppy brain was making up a story that somehow life coaching wasn't as valuable as therapy because therapy has been around for much longer. I would think to myself, "What would people think of me if they knew I had a life coach? Life coaching isn't widely accepted in the mainstream."
My brain was protecting me from being rejected socially. But, here's the good news, YOU get to decide what to think. YOU get to choose your thoughts.

Life coaching is nothing to be embarrassed about. These tools put you back into the driver's seat of your life and there is truly nothing better than being in total control of your own life.

Accountability partners are not what I teach my students to rely on. What were to happen if that person starts making up reasons they cannot go to the gym with you? I have the answer for you. Your primitive puppy brain is going to make up reasons why you shouldn't go without your friend.

By holding yourself accountable on your own you are going to start to see the results you want in your life. You are already accountable to so many things in your life, your boss, your partner, your family. It's time to start being accountable for yourself as well.

PRESS PLAY ▶️ on today's episode & you will learn how to stop letting your puppy brain take control and finally hold yourself accountable.

I love Oprah Winfrey and one of her wise quotes is, “If you look at what you have in life, you will always have more. If you look at what you don’t have in life, you’ll never have enough.” BOOM! 100%

So today we are talking about Oprah’s wise quote and wanting more in your life, but making sure that you want more from a place of feeling like you are enough.

Feeling all the things inside of you like you are smart enough,  fit enough, a loving enough friend or partner.

Feeling all the things outside of you like you have enough money, you have enough time, your home is enough.

In this podcast, you will learn how to want more in your life from a place of  “I have so much already in my life AND I want more. I want to keep going.”

I know that you want more for yourself and your life or else you wouldn’t be listening to my podcast.

And this is something very critical that I want to teach today that will completely change how you feel immediately when it comes to wanting more for yourself and your life.

Today we're going to talk about, "I'm not enough." This is the problem most of my students struggle with. I used to struggle with this limiting belief before I used the tools I’m going to cover in this podcast. It's fascinating how many of us have this thought in general about ourselves. We're just not enough.

I’ve noticed this limiting belief around skill sets. Such as  "I'm not smart enough" or "I'm not fit enough" or "I'm not skilled enough as a manager." “I’m not a good enough friend or partner”

So many of us believe that. "I'm not good enough at X.” And we compare ourselves to other humans whom we think have nailed X.

This line of thinking is called “scarcity”. The opposite line of thinking is called “abundance. I’m going to cover the definition of both within the context of what you think about yourself.

So today I want to talk about an amazing tool I use daily that ensured I achieved my goal and dream of becoming a certified coach last year and I use it daily to go after my goals and dreams.

The tool is discipline.

Discipline is what you can use to go after any results you want to achieve in your life, whether it’s a consistent exercise routine, making x dollars by a certain date, publishing a weekly podcast, being in a romantic relationship, or like what I did last year -becoming a certified coach!

My definition of discipline is consistently doing what you say you’re going to do for yourself and your life. Discipline is about trusting yourself.

There are times when you are going to say completely the wrong thing. Times when you hurt people and hopefully they are not intended, but maybe you do hurt them on purpose.

These occasions are going to feel terrible. As humans, we only get it right half the time and sometimes you just completely fck up.  We all fck up and that’s OK.

In this episode, I share how to work through your negative feelings, how to forgive yourself, and how to hold space for the person you hurt.Full show notes can be found at sarahmoody.com/podcast/45

I am SO excited for this week’s episode.

This week, we are diving into the nitty-gritty on how to say goodbye to anxiety, self-doubt, and stress. Your brain is wired to do the easiest thing humanly possible to protect itself. Throughout today's episode, we will talk about how every thought in our brain is optional. I will walk you through a visualization exercise to demonstrate that the “Next” thing is not going to give you what you so desperately crave. It is up to us to get to a state of being where we are peaceful, powerful, and proud.
