After dedicating 7 years to helping people as a personal trainer and coach, James Calderbank turned his childhood dream into reality in 2018 by opening his very own gym, The Transform Hub in Preston.
At Transform Hub, they bring a fresh and exciting approach to well-being. They provide solid advice on eating right and making positive changes in your life, all while making exercise enjoyable and effective. James's dedication to transforming lives through fitness earned him the remarkable UK wide Federation of Small Businesses Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2018, and that was just the beginning.
With subsequent awards like the Red Rose Awards and Lancashire Business Awards, Transform Hub's impact continued to grow, earning them recognition as a finalist in the esteemed National Fitness Awards.
However, James understood that he couldn't achieve this alone. Drawing inspiration from one of his former clients, Wendy Barker, he invited her to join his mission. Wendy was captivated by the empowering and supportive atmosphere at The Transform Hub, a refreshing departure from her previous gym experiences. Leveraging her business acumen, she embraced the role of Chief Operating Officer, recognising the incredible potential of the Transform Hub model. Joining the team in 2019, fitness marketing expert Justin Devonshire added another layer of expertise as a director.
Together, this dynamic trio reshaped Transform Hub into a franchise business, setting an audacious goal to establish 100 locations across the UK by 2025. This isn't just their vision; it's a shared aspiration among The Transform Hub family.
Their mission is resoundingly clear: to empower busy individuals to completely transform their lives. No more quick fix diets, no more wasted time on ineffective workouts, and no more squandered gym memberships. The Transform Hub is the place where dreams are nurtured, where lives are changed, and where the journey to a better self begins.

Back in 2012 Jessica was in the wrong place at the wrong time and her life got completely ripped apart. She was a Christian and completely trusted and believed in “GOD” but an event and trauma left her questioning (Who God Really Was?)
She was sexually assaulted and had her dignity stripped from her. Jess hated her body, hated her life, lost friends and couldn’t ever be a normal 17 year old ever again. She couldn’t trust people, especially men.
When Jess looks back on these traumatic events she explains that it’s the after math that is the painful part. It’s the why’s? How’s? The process and the detachment.
For years she allowed her emotions to control herself, taking excessive drugs and alcohol to numb the pain, to help her escape her reality. Because she couldn’t process the pain that kept denying her healing.
Then in 2017 she got sectioned because she tried to take her own life and was found by ambulances on numerous occasions to only wake up and hate that she was still here.
She was recommended to go and get reiki, and her first experience was frightening she had never experienced anything like it, plus her old beliefs thought it was the devils work.
Now 2022 she is a reiki master/teacher and work with the heart healing medicine Cacao.
She is living her truth, sharing her story to help other women who have had to battle this pain alone. This journey has been full of ups and downs but Jess can honestly say with hand on her heart that she lives with ease and grace now. Jess has taken full control of her emotions and thoughts.
She smiles everyday, kind to herself, she speaks only positive to herself and has forgiven herself. She continues to heal work through layers but feels right where she need to be.
She’s forever grateful for the people who tried to help her when she was asleep. She’s blessed for the people who pushed her away because it allowed her to grow and to trust into herself.
Jess believes that we are not here to fight or to get back at people, we are here to accept, heal and LOVE.
Life is always better when we love… because LOVE will always win.
