As many individuals are making their 'New Year's Resolutions'. instead, as Christians seeking to please our Heavenly Father, let us be 'Resolved-Committed To Grow' closer to Him.
Let us make a firm commitment to 'fight the good fight of faith' no matter what. To not waiver or quit in our 'resolve' to grow more and more in the knowledge of God this coming year!

Prayer and thanksgiving work together! Being thankful and expressing our gratitude and appreciation to God is one way that we show Him how much we love, respect and honor Him. Coming to God in prayer with thanksgiving and adoration, not to seek riches, fame or earthly gain. But, because of the Loving God He Is and the Great Things He Has Already Done For Us In Chrsit!
"...pray without ceasing...in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
(1 Thessalonians 5:17,18)
Everyday God is extending His unending mercy and great faithfulness to us anew and afresh. His compassions never runs out and His lovingkindness is better than life! Great Is His Faithfulness!
"It is because of the LORD'S lovingkindness that we are not consumed; because His tender compassions never cease. They are new every morning; Great and beyond measure is Your Faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22,23, Amplified)
There is no amount of hands that can be laid upon you, or wishing you can do to develop a more intimate and personal relationship with God. Each believer must seek to grow and develop their relationship with God; by making the decision to give themselves more and more to prayer, fellowship with HIm, and studying His Word. David, Daniel, and our best example, Jesus were men given to prayer; so should we be, as children of God.
In return for for my love they accuse me, but "I GIVE MYSELF TO PRAYER." (Psalm 109:4)
If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek, crave, require as a necessity, My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land. -2 Chronicles 7:14, Amplified
GOD has already given to us, by His command; angels to protect and keep us, Therefore, we have no need to fear, worry or be afraid. Believe and trust in God... act on His word, and use the angels that He has charged to keep us.
Psalm 91:11 -- For He will command His angels in regard to you, To protect, defend and guard you in all your ways of obedience and service. (Amplified)
Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD, with all your heart. And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, acknowledge and recognize Him. And He will make your paths straight and smooth, removing obstacles that block your way. - Proverbs 3:5-6, Amplified
Prayer is our foremost responsibility as a Christian. It is sad when a Christian does not know how to pray, or desires to pray. Jesus instructs us as His followerers to be people of prayer. He spent time teaching on the importance of prayer, how to pray, and being an example to the disciples in prayer.
Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished one of His disciples came to Him and said, "Lord, teach us to pray...." - Luke 11:1
Acting on God's Word is the key to receiving the promises of God, in every area of your life.
Be encouraged by today's devotional to act on the truth of God's Word, and
receive the desireed results.
"Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." -James 1:21-22
As a child of God, you are commanded not to fear, worry or be afraid. He who created you, and formed you will take care of you--You Are HIS!
"...this is what the Lord says--He who created you...He who formed you...Do not fear, for I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, you are Mine." - Isaiah 43:1
As believers we are to 'Count it all joy', in the midst of all types of trials, tests and hardships.
The Lark bird is attributed to being a cheerful, happy bird which has a beautiful melodious song, It sings while flying or perched, with a more elaborate call and extravagant song than most other birds. Thus the phrase: "Happy as a Lark'. With humans, they tend to sing, mainly when they are happy, or things are going well.
But, learning to remain joyful (count it all joy) and staying in faith is a must do, when facing any test or trial. Paul and Silas are good examples to us. They sang songs of praise to God in the midst of their pain and suffering. They choose to worship God, not blame God, gripe and complain about their situation or become fearful. They counted it all joy and their faith produced perseverance and the reward of their perseverance was deliverance by the hand of God.
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." - James 1:2-4, NIV
God knows all. He is Omniscient-The All Knowing God! There is nothing He does not know, nothing that catches Him off guard, nothing surprises Him, and there is nothing that He is not aware of, or doesn't understand. He knows everything, including the past and the future. God has complete knowledge, wisdom and understanding in all things. Psalm 139 beautifully illustrates the Omniscience of God. We can fully trust in Him and His word because of His Omniscience.

"You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways..." - Psalm 139: 1-3
The greatest answers to prayer that I have personally received, have come when I take the Word of God and bring His Word to Him in prayer. Finding specific text/scripture concerning the promises of God and reminding Him of His promise to me as His child. If God has stated in His Word what He will do, then it shall come to past. God is a Keeper of His Word! He watches over it to perform it for all who dare believe and trust Him in it.
"For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:10-11 (Amplified)
Because He Lives! We have received the victory and eternal life, through Christ death and resurrection.
John 11:25 -- Jesus says... "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
1 Corinthians 15:55-57 -- Where death is your victory? Where death is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is in the law. But thanks be to God! Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
In Ephesians 6:18 it says we are to "...pray at all times [on every occasion, in every season} in the Spirit, with all manner of [types of] prayer and supplication..." Jesus also modeled this lifestyle of prayerfulness, and in His teachings on prayer. In Luke 18:1, He says, "...men ought to always pray and not lose heart."
Luke Chapter 6 tells us to put on [take on] the full armor of God, so that we will be equipped and prepared to do battle against all the works of the enemy. Listen and be blessed by this series on Praying At All Times.
An important key in answered prayer and receiving from God is --The Abiding Principle.
Jesus taught on this in John 15 Chapter. Verse 7, He says, "If you abide(remain) in me and my words abide(remain) in you, you shall ask what you desire, and it will be done for you."
The promise of success is guaranteed, if you abide in Him and obey His commands. Joshua 1:8 admonishes us to not allow the 'Book of the Law" (God's Word), to depart from our mouth, but that we are to meditate upon it day and night; being mindful to do exactly what it says the way it says to do it; and then we will be prosperous and have good success.
This is a powerful prayer that Paul prayed for the believers in Ephesus; and a Scriptural prayer that we as believers today should pray for our families, local church, the body of Christ.
Ephesians 3:14-21..."for this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ...that He would grant you according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height; to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God..."
We are admonished in the Bible to pray for others in times of crisis, trouble and disaster; to do good and help them as we can. This prayer devotional list a few Scriptures we can use in praying God's Word during these times.
"The Lord is good; A strength and stronghold in the day of trouble. He knows, recognizes and cares for those who take refuge and trust in Him." (Nahum 1:7, AMP)
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved and carried into the midst of the sea." (Psalm 46:1-2)

Jesus teaches in Mark 11:22-25 the keys to having answered prayer.
Jesus replied, “Have faith in God [constantly]. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will]. For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you. Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him [drop the issue, let it go], so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions and wrongdoings [against Him and others]. (Amplified)
We know God through His Word. To receive direction and leading from the Spirit of God requires one to be familiar with the ways of God through spending time with Him and obeying His commands.
"Show me Your ways O Lord, show me the right path; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my Salvation, Who saves me. On You I wait all the day--All day long I put my hope in You." Psalm 25:4-5 (NKJV & NLT)
Our prayers should always be offered in submission to the Will of God. Praying the Bible Way will guarantee that our prayers are always answered in the affirmative.
1 John 5:14-15 says, "This is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His Will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."
Praying for those in authority over us is a Biblical command! God instructs us in His Word how we should pray for all men and especially those who rule over us.
First of all, I urge you to pray for all people. That petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made on their behalf. For kings, and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all Godliness and holiness. For this is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. - 1 Tim. 2:1-4
His disciples asked Him, "Lord teach us to pray..." (Luke 11:1) Jesus is our best teacher on prayer and example to follow. He has outlined for us in Scripture, the manner/way in which we should pray and approach our Heavenly Father.
"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen." (Matt. 6:9-13)
Worry will steal your time, drain you, take your peace and joy, make you sick, cause you to be irritable and depressed, and useless in service to God. We must continually renew our minds to think right! To think like Christ! Through obedience to the Word of God we can live a worry-free life In Christ.
"Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything! Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all that He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live In Christ." (Phil. 4:6) NLT
What does it mean to 'pray without ceasing.' Obviously Paul is not referring to non-stop talking, 24/7 on you knees, eyes-closed or in a prayer posture. But rather, an attitiude of Christ-God consciousness. God-surrendered and devotion to Him at all times in all our ways. Always connected to Him, as God says He never leaves or forsakes us.
"Unceasing in our prayers; praying perserveringly." - 1 Thessalonians 5:17
In the Gospel of Luke 22:31-32, Jesus says he prayed for His disciples that their faith would not fail. In 2 Thess. 3:1, Paul requested prayer from the church (the believers) that the Word of God would spread rapidly, that it will be honored and accepted. That he would be rescued from perverse and evil men; that he would be strengthen; continuing to serve God and preaching the Gospel.

Jesus spent all night in prayer before making the important decision of selecting His twelve disciples. He spent quality time with the Father, hearing from Him, and following God's plan. We too, must spend quality time with the Father, seeking His help and guidance in making decisions according to His ordained purpose and plan for our lives.
"Now in those days it occurred that He went up into a mountain to pray, and spent the whole night in prayer to God. And when it was day, He summoned His disciples and selected from them twelve, whom He named apostles." (Luke 6:12-13)
Successful prayer is based upon God's Word. We must ask in accordance to His Known Will and Word.

1 Peter 3:12 says, "The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, those who are upright, and in right standing with God; and His ears are attentive to their prayer." Let us be encouraged by today's devotional and drawn closer to Him.
James 5: 16 says, "Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." The NIV translation says, "the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." It produces wonderful results and is dynamic in its working!
Prayer Text: James 5: 13-15 (Amplified)
Is anyone among you suffering? He must pray. Is anyone joyful? He is to sing praises [to God]. 14 Is anyone among you sick? He must call for the elders (spiritual leaders) of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with [a]oil in the name of the Lord; 15 and the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
The Prayer of Faith produces results and is powerful. Any prayer you pray, must be A Prayer of ... See More Faith. Having complete trust and confidence in the One you are praying to-GOD.
Building a Godly relationship basically means building a relationship that glorifies God your maker! God's love is our guide! Just like the Biblical examples we see with David and Jonathan, Ruth and Naomi, we can also experience Godly, Christ-centered relationships that will contribute to our spiritual growth and development. Bringing us great joy, encouragement and comfort.
The degree in which we build and establish our personal relationship with God, will determine how healthy and Godly our relationships with others will be. Let us strive to build healthy, Godly relationships that last a lifetime.

Pastor Gustine Dunn ministers on the importance of following the right person and becoming a person that others want to follow and glean from. This is the example we see with Ruth and Naomi. Ruth followed Naomi to Bethlehem, not knowing how she would be received once she arrived, nor having any certainty of provision. She was faithful and loyal to her mother-in-law.
RUTH 1:16 -- Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God."
Too often believers are giving up and growing weary in their prayers and walk of faith. The Apostle Paul writes in Eph. 6:10-18, the importance of 'Standing" firm in faith. Having put on our armor and equipped for battle against the enemy. Learn what it means to Stand.
Eph. 6: 13---"having done all to STAND..."
One of the greatest hindrances to effective prayer is an unforgiving heart. As believers, Jesus has commanded us to forgive...it is not an option if we want to receive forgiveness from God and have our prayers answered.
Jesus says in Mark 11:25--"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in Heaven may forgive you your sins."
Whose life are you living? Are you living the life you were created to LIVE? A purposeful life that has been pre-determined and ordained by God before the foundation of the earth. A life set apart by God just for you! Listen and be encouraged in your walk of faith.
Proverbs 19:21 says, "Many are the plans in a man's mind; but it is the Lord's purpose for him that will stand and be carried out. (Amplified)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love He predestined us for adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will. (Ephesians 1:3-5)

People often get discouraged when praying for the salvation of their loved ones, to the point of even wondering if their prayers are being heard by God, or if God wants to save their loved one. You can have confidence in praying for your unsaved loved ones. Your prayers can be a powerful force in the lives of those you are praying and interceeding for, if you know how to pray for them according to the wisdom and Word of God. Listen and Be Blessed!

"For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide, we might have hope." (Romans 15:4) NIV
Worry is a sin that tempts every believer. It significantly damages your spiritual usefulness and hinders your ability to hear from God and receive answered prayer.
Philippians 4:6-7 in the Amplified Bible admonishes us to, " Not to be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]."
