Where is the proof? Why believe in something if there is no evidence? Also, why believe in something when there is evidence that runs contrary to a particular belief? This is basic logic and a reason why most deny a deity. Most who deny a deity argue there is no evidence. Also they point to scientific evidence to validate their skepticism.
However, what if there is evidence and evidence that is overwhelming? Those who deny a deity have every right to demand evidence. Yet, what will they do when they are provided proof? The Bible advocates a God who is sovereign. If this is true, everything points to his existence.
God is not hiding, he wants to be known. He has left his imprint on the universe. BURDEN OF PROOF: Using Known Concepts to Reveal Eternal Truths, was written to identify the evidence of God's existence.
The author answers forty thought-provoking questions that highlight the eternal truths of Scripture. Thus proving that the burden of proof does not lie with those who believe in God but with those who don't.
Concept 35 of 40. Having a place to live is often overlooked. It's become such a constant most can't imagine being without. We all desire a place to call home. Yet, if there is enmity at home it must be reconciled.
Concept 34 of 40. One is to give a gift out of the kindness of their heart. However, any gift that is given, comes at the expense of the one who gives it. If this is the case how, could there not be expectations?
Concept 33 of 40. We have all used drugs at some point in our lives. Most of the time it was for medicinal reasons. However, there are many drugs that are not used medicinally. Many seek satisfaction in their drug of choice
Concept 32 of 40. Fire is not just for the pyromaniac. In fact, fire is key to humanity's survival. Though destructive, the benefits of fire far outweigh the negatives. The characteristics of fire seem to point to it's origin.
Concept 31 of 40. Humans are fascinating creatures because they are unique and creative. The creation of art is something to behold. Whether it is a painting, drawing or sculpture, art is an expression of the artist. However, what is the greatest work of art and what is that artist seeking to express?
Concept 29 of 30. Contracts are legal documents that have both a positive and negative connotation. On one hand signing a contract can mean a big pay day. On the other hand signing a contract can be binding and restrictive. Nonetheless, one is required to hold up their end of the deal.
Concept 28 of 40. Fruit is one of the delicious delicacies of life. It is nature's candy. Seeing a tree with it's fruit indicates the health of a tree. Healthy fruit means a tree is healthy. If we bear fruit that is unhealthy what does that indicate about us?
Concept 27 of 40. Whether one wants to admit it or not our bodies are a product of great ingenuity. Blood is proof of this because it circulates through our body carrying oxygen and nutrients. It is truly the life source of all living things. Yet, what is the response to blood that is shed?
Concept 26 of 40. Garbage is disgusting and vile but it is intrinsic to human nature. Garbage exist because humans exist. However, garbage must be dealt with responsibly. If not, the consequences will be devastating.
Concept 25 of 40. Being apart of a family is something we can all relate to. However, family is not simply those who are related by blood. We all crave community and to be around those who care about us. Yet, for many this is not a reality.
Concept 24 of 40. This question seems absurd and inappropriate. However, in our hyper sexual society it is extremely appropriate. With the evolution of sexual liberty its time to evaluate why this topic is such taboo.
Concept 23 of 40. Statues are fascinating creations because only special people get them. Only those who have accomplished something great are deserving of a statue. However, there is one who has accomplished the greatest thing ever. Thus, what does he deserve and merit?
Concept 22 of 40. Not many things are certain in life but death is an unfortunate certainty. Everyone will eventually die. This harsh reality is extremely trouble because most believe this is how things are supposed to be. However, we were not brought forth to exist and then cease to exist.
Concept 21 of 40. As humans we take a lot for granted. One of those things we take for granted is our heart. It could be argued that it is the most important organ in our body. However, our lack of appreciation demonstrates our heart's desire.
Concept 20 of 40. In any conflict one will either be defeated or be the victor. But why is conflict even necessary? Why can't we all just get along? Though peace and unity is ideal it will never be achieved when men seek supremacy.
Concept 19 of 40. Humans ought to be honored and respected simply on the merit of being human. Sadly history demonstrates that some people have not been honored and respected. Many people have had their rights violated. But shouldn't this be expected if men are the ones who grant rights.
Concept 18 of 40. There is no one alive who doesn't enjoy a good nights sleep. Sleep is an overlooked luxury that is universal to all people. Yet, it seems extremely unnecessary. People literally spend one third of their day doing nothing.
Concept 17 of 40. The connotation of work is generally negative. It's generally negative because most people hate what they do for a living. However, work is intrinsic to human nature. Without work nothing would get accomplished.
Concept 15 of 40. Being treated fairly is something we all desire. Unfortunately, humans do not have a history of treating others justly. Thus are they the determining factor of justice? If men determine justice is the injustice of men justify? Should there not be a standard above man that determines justice?
Concept 14 of 40. A sense of humor is universal to all people. In addition to this, humor has several practical benefits to humanity. Though beneficial, humor is to be handled responsibly. If not, one will be to object of derision.
Psalm 2:4 He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.
Concept 13 of 40. If one accomplishes something one should to be recognized. However, there is a difference between expecting recognition and demanding it. When we demand recognition we fail to realize who actual deserves it.
Concept 12 of 40. Rejection is unavoidable and most of the time it is unwarranted. However, there are times when we deserve to be rejected. Rejection is not always a bad thing. In fact, it is necessary to reject those who have rejected an absolute standard.
Concept 11 of 40. Humans naturally desire to live life independent of others. However, we are uniquely designed to be dependent. Though we hate to admit it, we need one another. Meeting the needs of another actually identifies our purpose in life. Having needs means there must be someone who can meet them.
Concept 10 of 40. Being tolerant is a very good and respectable quality to have. However, tolerance implies limits and standards. If these limits and standards are not properly defined, tolerance becomes a way to push an agenda.

Concept 9 of 40. Life is about choices. Therefore, it is important to make wise decisions. However, are we suppose to obtain wisdom from our own experiences or from the example of another. Regardless of one's worldview, everyone covets wisdom. Yet, wisdom is freely offered to all.

Concept 6 of 40. Even with our closest friends, we cannot avoid disagreements. However, there are many disagreements we have, that cause much dysfunction (race, politics, religion). Though these disagreements tend to divide, they actually promote unity. In fact, disagreements highlight our limitations and finiteness.

Concept 8 of 40. One of the worse feelings in the world is owing someone. However, its almost impossible to go through life without incurring debt. Debt is not necessarily a bad thing. Rather, the problem is when we don't repay our debt. All of us are indebted to someone and this person doesn't require a monetary payment but something more valuable.
Concept 7 of 40. Math is by far one of the most boring and unnecessary subjects to learn about. However, a strong case can be made that math is one of the greatest proofs that the universe was created. This concept is one of the authors favorites because it proves existence is not simply what we experience with our five senses!

Concept 5 of 40. Most fail to realize the weight a name carries. Names identify us but they also carry authority. We are not not required to submit to our siblings but our parents. We are are not required to submit to a fellow student but the teacher. Likewise, we are not to submit to our own wants and desires. Rather, we are to submit to the wants and desires of the King!
Concept 4 of 40. If we were to be honest, we all have fears. Even those with rough exteriors and tough demeanors. In fact, those are the ones that have the biggest fears and insecurities. However, are our fears intrinsic to our survival? Or are they a symptom of something else?
Concept 3 of 40. If could be argued that love is one of the strongest forces known to man. Yet, how is it defined? Is it an emotion or is it a choice? In answering this question, one will realize that love must be experienced before it can be reciprocated. Love can accurately be defined, once we see the extent to which we are loved.
Concept 2 of 40. "I'm right, your wrong!" Is this truly how we determine ethics and morality? Though this sounds like a conversation between children, this type of reasoning is prevalent in our society. Is there a standard of truth above man that determines right and wrong? Or are we simply going to continue to argue over preferences and opinions?

Concept 1 of 40. It is universally accepted that all men have worth and value but have we ever questioned why? The answer is to this question is foundational to humanity's existence. Most of the worlds problems stem from not having a proper understand of what gives men worth.
