the latest round up of games in the #Barclyswc saw #CrystalPalceWomen secure their place at the top of the league. it is only a formality now before they move onward towards the #barclayswsl

MarchesterCityWomen smash their opponents and go to the top of the league. Will they give Chelsea the blues and walk away with the league trophy?

Top teams from the #premierleauge namely Chelsea and Manchester United show us how they have been the topic of convesation all year long.

Chelsea fail to secure a place in the next round of the cup after playing so well. Manchester United show everyone that they are a counter attacking team with no ideas and very little going for them - despite their penalty win against Coventry.

Sunderland Still On Top

onandoffthepitchpodcast #barclayswc #barclayharvardchurch

Reviewing the latest round of games taking place on the easter weekend - for some teams there could be no resurrection from previous performances. Defeat was on hand and written in the stars. Elsewhere, Sunderland and Crystal Palace women continue to throw down the challenge and win again. Who will slip again?

Blackburn win big. Sheffield United demonstrate their footballing know how and score points all over the pitch and take the win.

In the BarclaysWSL, Manchester City win big and jump over Chelsea with an impressive performance away from home.

In the Conti Cup - Arsenal win in extra time and Hayes makes it clear with a push. No male aggression please.

Will there ever be a time when there are no male managers in women's football? It may prevent issues when the manager is unable to control their emotions.

A look back at the latest results across the #BarclaysWC #barclayswsl on the biggest weekend for women's football we would hardly see any of the games across the Barclays Women's Championship. Was this a mistake? Ot is this a clear signal that those who focus on the WSL just don't care?

Big results for Crystal Palace, Sheffield United Women, Sunderland Women and a surprise win for London City Lionesses.

The WSL provided some big results in particular the Manchester derby between City and United. Shaw is scroing goals and still not getting the column inches....shocking.

Does Chelsea Women get enough respect?

UnfitPitch

onandoffthepitchpodcast

The latest round of games in the #barclayswc and #barclayswsl saw plenty of action and goals. However for a few games the weather played a key card resulting in those fixtures being postponed to a later date.

Crystal Palace and Birmingham Women failed to kick off following a pitch inspection - this re arranged fixture could hold the key to who gets promoted to the WSL.

BarclaysWSL results see the continuation of Manchester's City striker Shaw increasing her goal haul - this player doesn't get enough credit.

What happens to a football player if they are banned for 4 years - do they retire or do they hold on and try and make a comeback. This is the situation currently being faced by Paul Pogba.

The Backpass Game

This was a must win game for the home team as they sit perilously close to the relegation zone. Watford Rise

In this week podchat, we float over the results of the Barclays Women's Championship. We see Watford Rise off the bottom of the league by scoring two goals against the mighty Durham. Reading do whats required and get a much needed win. LCL and Lewes find out things are just a tad tough...but this is still time. Things at the bottom of the league is going to be feisty.

Charlton grab a point late on and Sheffield United go big with the goals.

In the BarclaysWSL the usual teams win and in one game the referee decides to fill the void left by #VAR to provide Chelsea with some much needed lucky penalties.

premierleague rumours - Jose M needs to stay away from the league. Does he remember all of the horrible things people stated when he tried to ring order to Manchester United.

Things down at the bottom of the league don't look so rosy for the Watfords and Lewes of this world but the questions I have - is it the right time for the league to have two relegation spots?

Injuries hit the WSL big teams and where will this leave the standings at the end of the season? Will Manchester City's star striker Shaw, continue to bag the goals in 2024?

The Gift of Football -

Delayed Tribute & Fixtures On And Off The Pitch

The podchat returns with @emma_shone in the house. The return of football is on the agenda. The sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96 has sent shock wave around the world. One of the topics on the pod, did the football authorities get it wrong by cancelling the fixtures?

We also go over the return of the WSL - which one of the teams will have a stand out campaign?

The Barclay's Womens Championship has its own hot topics...can the teams with clean sheets continue to shine? Crystal Palace is right up there.

BlackPrincesses #onandoffthepitch #worldcuppayments

The fight for equal pay in the world of women's football is well documented. And recent success has been noted in one corner of the globe. But that isn't the case for the football players who have represented Ghana in the World Cup.

They have been left behind. they have been ignore and they haven't been paid - for games they played under the umbrella of FIFA. This just isn't right.

I am joined by Kate Agyemang - former player for Ghana Women. Kate explains all and why they fight for payments promised long ago.

The football is back! Games have already begun and the goals have flown in. Shock starts and blistering attacks fills the hearts of fans.

The big question I want answered is who will be the first striker to score 10 league goals? With all the talk about Kane, Lukaku, Sala and the others it still comes down to who scores goals and the striker is seen as a key figure in a teams success.

So the question goes out to fans of the #premierleague #WSL and #WSL2 #FAWC

Who will be the first striker to score 10. Tweet your selection adding the #FIRSTTO10 TO @onandoffthepit1 and @rodney_cyrus

With only a few games to go, Leicester City Women clinched promotion to the WSL and at the other end of the league we witness London Bees saying goodbye to the FAWC.

Will there be a big shirt from teams to go professional? Or will the financial hurdles prove to be a step?

The Sunday Show - Snake Eyes

TheSundayShow #Snakeeyes #OnAndOffThePitch #RodneyCyrus

Welcome back to The Sunday Show edition of on and off the pitch.

This week we take a look at Project Big Picture or as I have labelled it 'Project Snake Eyes'.

When is a gift not a gift? The answer is anything offered up by football club owners who make an open claim to grabbing power in the shape of help.

What do fans make it this plan? What do fans of the two clubs at the forefront of the plan have to say? This is more an emotional thought stream than a review, so please bear with me!

THE SUNDAY SHOW – Here We Go #SUNDAYSHOW #HereWeGo #rolemodels

Welcome back to The Sunday Show edition of on and off the pitch.

Slightly late, I glanced over some the the stories from the previous week and added my own sauce to the menu dished up.

With the football back we get to talk about two hot prospects in the English game...but not in that sense. Enter Foden and Greenwood on how not to be entertained whilst on international duty.

The is a small mention of Marcus Rashford and the need for him to stick to football. Messi is still at Barcelona so there is a bit of that. And we fleetingly go over things in the Women's Super League.

THE SUNDAY SHOW – Mr Marcus Rashford #SUNDAYSHOW #MrMarcusRashford #rolemodels

Welcome back to The Sunday Show edition of on and off the pitch.

The word alleged is used heavily throughout this episode and for good reason.

On this week's relfective review we glance over the Messi fantasy about leaving Barcelona which appears to be a Christopher Nolan's rip off from the film 'Inception'. Its all in the mind!

We look at the major task taken up by Mr Marcus Rashford...tackling opponents and feeding hungry children. His open letter caused some concern....why is he involved in politics?

We also look at Brazil's news and how they are paying men and women who represent their country in football on a national stage. Oh, and there is a little bit more of Messi.

WSL REVIEW: CONTI CUP INVISIBLE GLORY

How to grow the women's game? A serious question we will look at during the podcast today. Following the recent round of Conti Cup games, which resulted in the a semi final line up containing Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City Women., is enough being done to promote the game to fans unable to travel to midweek games?

The emphasis has been in recent weeks on crowd numbers but surely if there is an appetite for games to be televised or streamed, why is this not being utilised more frequently?

We ask these questions to members from the BarmyArmy , who attended the recent win over Brighton. We also look at the WSL and recent results and future fixtures.

Join us later tonight from 7pm. (time to be confirmed later)

Send your questions in regarding the Conti Cup and what you hope will happen in the next round.

KERR V MIEDEMA: WOMEN'S SUPER LEAGUE RIVALS

Will the arrival of Sam Kerr result in a well needed rivalry with Arsenal's Miedema? We hope so. The Women's Super League needs to grow. It wants to grow and having two world class players in the league will probably kick start a change in how the league is perceived.

Will we see a shift away from the Lionesses and more of a focus on club football in terms of growing the women's game.

Diversity and inclusion equals success. A statement which is for some a question. Whether it is in the world of sport, politics or other areas in public life, the issue around diversity and inclusion is definitely at the fore front of out minds. In football, we have seen the ugly head of racism return and when authorities are asked to what extent there will be sanctions these are somewhat unclear. Is this due to the individuals around the table? Is there a lack of inclusion when diversity has been the main focus for organisations? How much are CEO's invested in creating the right atmosphere where diversity and inclusion add to success in equal measures and for all of those involved?

Joining me to discuss this is Vivienne Aiyela - Non-Executive Director, London Football Association, who has a be direct approach when talking about this issue. Vivienne was a speaker at the Race and Cultural Diversity in Sport Forum, during her presentation she shared the following video on leadership and the importance of leaders in the discussion around diversity and inclusion and what will and will not be tolerated.

2019 REVIEW WSL & MUWOMEN

Moving toward the Christmas season, we decided to take a look at the first half of the Women Super League (WSL) season and past judgement. Reviewing the progress of Manchester United Women and the other WSL teams.

In this episode we delve in the option of the WSL increasing in size, if this were to happen how would it benefit the league and women's football? We also take a gander at the Conti Cup in its current form and say it in not fit for purpose. Could this be revised and include non league clubs? If so, how would this benefit the WSL? What benefits would be provided to female footballers outside of the WWSL and FA Championship?

Could an unknown gem be unearthed and blow the whole top tier open?

MUWOMEN & WSL REVIEW

MUWomen fail to get the 3 points in their last game against West Ham United. A last minute free kick enables West Ham to take all 3 points in a tough encounter on a cold Sunday.

On the podchat today, Matt from the BarmyArmy and I chew over the game and discuss the what the team need to do in their next game against Everton.

We also mention the news on the Champions League and what this might mean for MUWomen fans and beyond. We also ask the question, if Arsenal can score 11 goals against a WSL team is it any surprise that the scoreline is seen as a joke by an England player currently playing in a very successful European team.

Toptenstrikers #OnAndOffThePitch

Top ten strikers in the Premier League are all stacked but there are a few surprises in the list. Who has made the top ten list so far and where do these individual markers stand next to their clubs league position?

We often use the terms: striker, goal scorer and centre forward. Do these phrases all mean the same thing? And can one player fall under all three headings?

Marcus Rashford claims that you can't hide in football. A bold statement but one many Manchester United fans and supporters will challenge. They believe players have hid, and have done so for quite some time.

Recent results and performances have been questioned by supporters and pundits alike. Are the players good enough? Did Woodward really back the manager? Is Ole the right man to be behind the wheel?

A number questions to chew over and much more. But the big one for me, is how loyal is the fanbase when they consistently claim to love their club?

managersontheverge #onandoffthepitch

The season has hardly begun and there is talk in some club of discontent. Managers unhappy with the players they have. Unhappy about the players they didn't get. Shock results go some way to enhance the unease within and around these clubs. Tottenham Hotspurs, Manchester United, Watford (again) and Wolves have some of the managers who are deemed to be on the verge of losing their jobs. For one manager, the rumour is he may even walk away!

The only club where things seem to going well is Liverpool. So Klopp can rest easy. On the podcast this week, I am join by Ty. Looking at his club Spurs and asking key questions following the shock defeat in the cup.

Could he actually stake a claim in the MUFC first eleven? Why hasn't there been any hype around him like the others?

Has there been enough progress for him to be considered for a slot in the first team? Subscriber shout out

26 IS SANCHEZ NEED UNITED FANS DISCUSS - On And Off The Pitch Podcast

26 IS SANCHEZ NEED UNITED FANS DISCUSS - On And Off The Pitch Podcast. Sanchez, oh Sanchez where are you? We see you on instagram, we see your dogs. But we don't see you! Well, not the Sanchez last seen at Arsenal in 2016/17. We are back once more on the On And Off The Pitch Podcast with a United Fans Discuss.

The topic is Sanchez, Do this current United team need him? Does he need Manchester United? Is he a luxury player past his best? We look at Juan Mata. Is he just a squad player? Has he truely reached the heights he should have? If only he had the speed of Rashford, he would be world class and never ever dropped from the team.

Joining me once more on the On And Off The Pitch Podcast are RedDevilWeekly, Jack, Femi and the Queen herself and CEO of Premier Language Canada - Jessica. Jessica is just as worried about the snow as she is Spurs on Sunday.

It's a Manchester United love in, with fun and laughter. And with no mention of Fellaini...well only for one second.

25 TOUCHING THE HOLY GRAIL - On And Off The Pitch Podcast

25 TOUCHING THE HOLY GRAIL.  The day before the nightmare, I caught up with two Liverpool fans and asked them about their team's chances on winning the league, and whether they comfortable being on top of the league? The title race is back on, but was it really over. There are so many teams still in contention. This is a Liverpool love in but not from me. Joining me on the podcast are Reynolds and (distant) Nicky Liverpool die hards. There is quite a lot of fun and a good dose of biblical referencing.

24 UNITED FANS DISCUSS. Two games in what is the mood and temperature with Manchester United fans? Jubilant? Satisfied? or cautious? What do you make of 'Player FC'?  What are the 3 things the club, team and Ole need to implement in 2019? No easy conversation. There is a declaration for Young FC...Joining in with the debate is @RedDevilWeekly, Jack and Femi. There is a certain about of disbelief and an apology from me to the FC crew.

23 GHOSTS FROM CHRISTMAS PAST - On And Off The Pitch Podcast

23 Ghosts from Christmas past. A familiar face from the past returns to the club, more are rumoured to followed. Possibly Evra and Sir Alex Ferguson in a consultancy capacity. Are this signs of the good times returning? Or are they a sign of how bad things really have fallen, since SAF was last in charge? What does this say about Woodward? He seems to have been spun full circle and now his fate rests in SAF hands. There is laughter, and disbelief. Join me and Jessica as we deliver a special 'Ghosts from Christmas past' podcast.

22 SUNSHINE OLE- On And Off The Pitch Podcast

22 SUNSHINE OLE. As the Jose era drifts away into the distance, will Ole bring the sunshine needed to heal the club? Will his arrival bring the fan base back together? Will he be seen as the long term option? And if he is, does this mean that the club have no real strategy to manage the club going forward. Has anybody seen Zinedine Zidane?...who will really be in charge? Listen to me and @RedDevilWeekly chew the fat and put your thoughts towards what seems a real left field appointment. And there is a last minute, guess who might be manager....just for fun.

21 UNITED IN RUINS - On And Off The Pitch Podcast

21 UNITED IN RUINS. Jose is gone. United in ruins. No 'real' manager. No 'real' leadership. No 'real' direction.  The majority of the fans are happy with the out going changes, but have the owners and the board a real plan to bring MUFC back to the glory day. Their approach is like blowing the candle out in a poorly lit room, and then asking 'where is the light switch?' A gamble. Short term or long term, will it work.

20 MOURINHO HANGS ON - On And Off The Pitch Podcast

20 MOURINHO HAGS ON. As we move into the Christmas season, the spirit of good will has been far from present following the Stirling incident. There definitely isn't any good will to Jose. These are on the agenda, along with the Champions League review and how the British teams have faired. A shout out to Lord Ouseley from Kick It Out and a brief mention on cycling. Yeah, cycling. 13 RONALDO’S DREAM RETURN!One man’s dream is another team’s nightmare. Well, that was the point I was trying to make before this weeks Champions League. Was it a dream return for Ronaldo? Who else had a dreamy Champions League week. Liverpool blow hot. 12 MUCH TOO YOUNG! The question of young talent being given a chance is always a difficult. Balanced with the opinion 'you can never win anything with kids', the emphasis is always placed on experience. But does having more experienced players in your team hinder youth development? Is it always necessary to have experience over age? If you have a team where the balance is tipped in favour of one, does this guarantee success? All of these points with be discussed with Ty and Nick and the host, Rodney Cyrus. Enjoy.
