Why was this game made? Why did Nintendo choose the Famicom Disk System for it's release? What was different in the first official NA release of this game in Super Mario All-Stars? Listen in to find out!

Kid Icarus was released on the same day as Metroid in Japan, and it shares many of that games DNA. There is a password system, vertical scrolling and yes... even Metroids. Kid Icarus was released in July 1987 in the US, and we break down why this game starts out so hard, some of the hidden features, and detail the differences between the Famicom and NES versions.

Super Mario Bros. 2 was a sequel to the amazing NES hit Super Mario Bros., but how it was developed is a great story. We talk about how the original Super Mario 2 was deemed too difficult for the US audience, how Nintendo scrambled to get something released in the US and how they repurposed a special adver-game from Japan. It's quite possible that Peach and Toad would have never been a major part of the franchise without this one decision.

We are back with another Retro Pulse! In this episode we talk about the awesome Super Nintendo title, Super Castlevania IV. This game was quite hyped for it's sections that used the Move 7 graphics to have rotating platforms, growing bossed and even a room that rotated around you while you walked. It's a fun title even today, hope you enjoy our talk on it!

These episodes will come out over the next month or so and will be on the SNES Classic and its games. Voting will commence once these are done.

So enjoy the episode! Shantae is a great game, just not one that I could personally finish. Too retro difficult :) Enjoy the show!
