Portland Tenants United
The mission of Portland Tenants United is to build power and solidarity among the tenant class throughout the Portland metro region as a member-driven tenant union. Through organizing, direct action, coalition building, and civic engagement, Portland Tenants United fights to keep people in their homes, and to achieve dignity and security for all tenants.
City Council Candidate Jo Ann Hardesty Addresses Media on Mayor’s Actions Regarding Relocation. Citizens and renter advocacy organizations showed up to voice their opinions about the Mayor's decision and to share their experiences of being displaced due to no cause of their own.

From Jo Ann Hardesty's Office: PORTLAND,OR - On Friday, January 19th, former legislator and City Council candidate Jo Ann Hardesty addressed the media on Mayor Wheeler’s decision to postpone a Relocation Technical Advisory Committee (RELO TAC) meeting scheduled the same day. Committee members were to discuss an official report that details the impact of certain exemptions to the current program. An estimated 24,000 households, or nearly 20% of renter households are not covered by the current renter relocation policy.citizens and organizers met to voice their opinion and share their personal experiences. Barrett is living in an RV along the streets of Portland, Oregon. In this episode, he talks about living in the RV, the ups and downs he faces living in the RVs, the work he is doing with Portland Tenant's United and the hopes he has for the city and how the city treats people living in their RVs along the street.
