You have broken hearts, twisted logics, painful realizations and most importantly, a giant middle finger to anything remotely conventional. This was a massive stage and each character envelops you into a grey area you do not wish to leave by the end.

The CBI series by K. Madhu represents one of the most famous detective/crime series to emanate from Mollywood. Mammuka as Sethurama Iyer is one of our most favorite avatars of him, and the franchise still lives strongly in our minds 3 decades later. We chronicle the CBI series this July, as we begin our journey to find our own definitive top 10 Detective/Crime movies to be made in Malayalam.
The Conjuring folks conjured (I know , I know) their 7th installment in the franchise, and suffice to say, we left rather disappointed.
Luca enters our life randomly, and as Tara fangirls over Tovino Thomas, we sit back and talk about a beautiful detective/slice of life experience that completely surprised us. For once in a pleasant way. Things are showcased in a pleasant, majestic and yet, very realistic manner, in this debutant venture of director Arun Bose.

Dark Phoenix was a cash grab and I am very guilty of handing it over to them, Secret Life of Pets happens to be sillier than the first one, and we thoroughly disagree on subjective opinions on Men In Black. Life is beautiful, eh?
Mammuka returns in a wonderfully dark satire, that really lights up the 2019 Malayalam movie roster. Unda by Khalid Rahman is both uncomfortable yet lighthearted enough to take you on an awkward journey through the experiences of a police company from Kerala trying to perform electoral duties in a place known as a Maoist hotbed. Hilarity mixes with sheer bureaucratic ineptness, and we are never lectured throughout this movie. Instead, we see the gray in a bunch of cops in an extremely relatable manner.
The times are changing, perceptions divide us and each day we seem to find newer reasons to further ourselves from each other. These 3 special movies ask us one central question- who is the hero we really need in our life? What really binds and brings us together in a time when everything tends to be point the other way?
Chernobyl came into our lives at the end of a Thronesy nightmare but somehow lingers on in a much more beautiful way. It is raw, classic HBO, make you wish life and people were different, but then it is those things that make it stick. The scientific jargon actually makes you want to think instead of zone out, the drama is far more intriguing than normal forced scenes, all of it proving that true disaster is the best depiction of the human condition.
Our book review of the week is Mythos by Stephen Fry, a wonderful take on how to tell a rather old and usually dull tale in an entertaining and engaging manner. It's perfect for people across all demographics, as the Gods battle problems they love creating themselves.

John Wick 3 and Keanu Reeves keep making our existence worthwhile, Ajay Devgan ran into Luv Ranjan somewhere and Pyaar ka Punchnama got upgraded to De De Pyaar De, Tabu and Alok Nath should get more screen time and more screens if possible, and Ishq maybe the next Premam to come from these shores. Things get contentious in this weekly episode of the Inside A Potato Podcast.
Once in a while, you encounter plots and stories that force you to think. There is no definitive right or wrong, just a gray area where you try to make sense of what has happened. Ishq was one such movie, and here we try understanding in our review why things played out the way they did, and can anyone really be considered a hero at the end of the day?

We belatedly share our rather unmonumental experience with the first episode of S8 Game of Thrones. 'Winterfell' arrived, 5 more episodes to go, and we try our best at tackling plot related questions and quirks that managed to confuse us. Which means most of them did.
We wandered around and landed on 4 rather different picks over the last month. Each of them different, each incredibly weird, but thoroughly fun to begin our podcast journey on. We review 3 Malayalam movies ( Lucifer, Athiran and June) and Shazam (because Shazam).
