FIDO FRIDAY! 🐶 🖤 This week we have adorable, adoptable Milkshake from Steel City Dog Rescue!
Meet Milkshake! Yes, she brings all the boys to the yard 😆 Milkshake is believed to have been dumped after she was used for puppies. She was roaming loose in the woods in Darlington the week before the 4th of July. Milkshake was finally trapped the morning of the 4th, confused and scared, but it only took a couple hours and she was a big wiggle butt giving kisses.
Milkshake was covered in ticks, but we took her to the vet, got her cleaned up and smelling all nice. The vet believes she is about 2-3 years old. Great with all the other dogs. Loves to run and play. She is up to date on all her shots. Heartworm/Lyme neg. Loves to cuddle up next to you and get her belly rubbed or her ears scratched. Housebroken and crate trained. Milkshake knows basic commands and comes when called too. She is spayed and she is ready for her furever home! 👏

Hi there! How are you? I’m fine & DANDY like cotton candy! My name is Dandy, aka Dandelion- and yes, I’m as pretty at that flower. I’m a four year old German Shepard mix looking for someone to love me forever.
I used to live a bad life in Kentucky before coming to Pennsylvania and being saved by Cross Your Paws Rescue. Now I know what love is and I sure want some of it for myself! I’m crate trained, potty trained, and leash trained. I know “sit” and “lay down”. I am spayed and up to date on my vaccines. What more could you ask for?! I’m good with other dogs of all sizes and am good with kids too. The rescue would like me to be in a home with kids older than 10 simply because I’m 70 pounds and might walk/lean on the little ones because I love to be around my people.
I love to go on walks and cuddle. Cuddle. Cuddle. Cuddle. I love LOVE. Ear scratches, belly rubs, any type of attention I love! I do get anxious with loud noises like motorcycles or fireworks but other than that I’m all around a sweet girl!

FIDO FRIDAY! 🐶 🖤 This week we have adorable Jane Foster from @petsearchwashingtonpa!
Pet Search met Jane Foster at the shelter in St. Thomas in July 2020. Jane was living in the office and was a shelter favorite. Jane is a 7 year old terrier mix that had a rough life on the island. Her eyes speak volumes of the negligence of her early years and she looks much older than she truly is.
We fell in love with Jane's sweet personality and thought we could provide a better life for her in the states and she flew to Pet Search in August 2020. Since she has been with us, she has been seen by several veterinarians for medication/ treatment of sores on her paws. Many, many, many trips to the vets, lots of different medications & finally a biopsy with the results being biopsy-mast cell tumors.
Jane is on meds to help control the licking of her paws, as she is impossible to keep a cone on. Surgery is not an option for mast cell. Jane would love to spend the last 6-9 months of her life being absolutely spoiled beyond words.
Don’t get me wrong… Jane gets lots of love, walks, runs in the yard, cookies and “meatballs” with her medicine tucked inside with us, but she has to share with the other fosters and our dogs. She deserves a “one-on-one” relationship for her remaining days. Pet Search will provide meds, food and any additional medical treatments for Jane to someone that would be willing to be her final mom or dad.

Endora arrived at Animal Friends with two other bunnies after they were found living outside. She spent some time in foster homes, where she worked on overcoming her shyness. Once you gain Endora’s trust, she craves attention and won’t leave your side as long as you keep petting her! Molly is a beautiful terrier mix who is around two years old. She is the sweetest pup who loves belly rubs and all affection. This happy girl's favorite time of the day is going for walks and letting off some energy playing fetch.
From what we have seen, Molly has been a bit dog selective, so we would recommend a dog to dog meet and greet if Molly was to go home with a family with other pets.
Molly also has some separation anxiety, but with the right family willing to give Molly the attention she deserves, she would make the perfect addition to someone's home.

We have a sweet girl who has been in rescue for over 120 days and needs your help. Sassy is her name, and she lives up to it. She is a beautiful 2 yr old boxer/hound cross. This high energy fun loving girl is looking for an active family. She would make a great hiking or running companion. She does well with the male dog in the foster home— if she is to have a canine companion then they would need to be present at the meet and greet to ensure a good fit. Because of her size and energy, she needs a home with children over 12.

Maggie May is 1½ years old and is a mixed breed dog (Maybe Golden Retriever and Beagle could also see a little Jack Russell). She is very petite at about 25lbs and 12inches tall. She has a sweet and affectionate personality, also loves to run and play. She also loves to jump and fly for her toys. She is dog and cat friendly.

FIDO FRIDAY! This week we have adorable, adoptable Bailey from Steel City Dog Rescue!
She came to Steel City Dog Rescue about two weeks ago. Bailey had been a stray for about a year in Pittsburgh. A kind gentleman started to feed her and earning her trust. Finally Bailey was trapped by a volunteer in the Pittsburgh lost dogs group.
Once at the rescue as you can imagine she was not happy about being trapped and now everyone is trying to be her friend...she still is unsure...and who wouldn't blame her, you see it was discovered that she had a possible broken jaw. Bailey was not letting anyone touch it and just wanted to be left alone. Bailey was scheduled for surgery on the 30th of May.. luckily her jaw wasn't broke but she did have some type of blunt force trauma to her mouth leaving her with several broken teeth above and within her lower jaw bone. Four broken teeth were removed and she also was spayed. She is feeling so much better, she is now a giving her foster mom hugs and kisses, unlike the first two days.
Bailey is about 7 years young... She is picky about what dogs she hangs out with. Only wants non confrontational dogs her size or smaller. She would be fine as an only dog too. Loves car rides and just chillin with her person.

He would prefer to be the only pet in the home so he can have all of the love for himself! Mick is FIV+ but that doesn't mean he can't live a normal life. FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, which weakens a cat's immune system, but with a proper diet, regular vet visits and staying indoors, he can live a happy and healthy life.

FIDO FRIDAY! This week we have Mac & Cheese from The Foster Farm! Mac and Cheese are 11-week-old catahoula leopard dog puppies who are both completely deaf and profoundly visually impaired. Mac seems to have a bit more vision than her brother Cheese, but both pups may need doggy goggles when exposed to bright lights for extended periods.
These two pups are smart as can be and are doing wonderfully with crate training and potty training! They are sweet, high energy, cuddly when sleepy, and incredibly eager to learn. Families interested in Mac or Cheese (we will not be adopting them out together) should be prepared to help these awesome pups make the most of their lives, including puppy classes and (preferably, but not necessarily) a patient adult dog.

Katori is a senior GSD going on 11-yrs. old that will be with us one year in June. Unfortunately, with her advanced age she tends to get overlooked. However, for someone who is more interested in a low-activity companion, Katori would fit right in.
She loves to go on short, leisurely leash walks and is quite content just hanging with her person. She's not much of a snuggler, but she loves to be close to her human. She doesn't ask for much... just your love. She has no health issues that we're aware of except for some hair loss on a section of her back and tail. She's spayed and just recently had a dental. She's really quite beautiful, even with her patchy coat. We believe a less stressful environment is what this girl needs to thrive.

FIDO FRIDAY! This week we have Zeus from Safe Acres Animal Rescue!Zeus is looking for a home where he can be the only pet. He is working on his training with Juran K9, so far he is off leash trained and knows basic commands. Zeus needs a confident owner who has experience with owning active dogs. This brindle boy's favorite thing to do is get his feet wet in the pond or creek and then do countless amounts of zoomies all around the yard at 100mph.
He looooooveeess to run! If you have an atv or side by side, he will run next to it with you and have the time of his life! Zeus loves the outdoors and doing adventurous activities. Playing fetch with toys and chewing chew bones really makes him happy. He is so much fun and keeps you entertained for hours! Zeus loves to give you hugs and lots of puppy kisses. He has a cuddly side to him and would enjoy resting on the couch snuggled up after he’s completed his daily zoomies. He is around 9 months old and has sadly spent the majority of his life either in a rural shelter or now in his foster home, let’s find him is forever family! We believe he is a pittie mix, but most likely he has a lot of breeds mixed in.

FIDO FRIDAY! This week we have adorable, adoptable Dixie, Daisy & Dove from Steel City Dog Rescue!
These ladies are 3 yr old Bernese Mountain dogs that Steel City acquired from an Amish Breeder. They are both very dog social, but people shy. While they are all coming around quickly, the ladies just need time to relax, decompress and learn to trust people.
Dixie is the one outside. Daisy (the one with the head tilt) and Dove (the one that is behind her) are sisters. Dixie is the one who needs the most TLC. Most scared from her former living situation and will require a fence. Daisy is the more outgoing of the sisters, but Dove is coming around. They need time and don't have to stay together, but would like Dove to have another dog in the family.

FIDO FRIDAY! 🐶 🖤 This week we have Squirt from TinyCause!
We featured Squirt in February and he still hasn't found his fur-ever home 😭 He is a male boxer mix who we believe is around 11 months old. He joined TinyCause after a local UPS driver contacted us after almost hitting him, while Squirt was running the streets on one of the really frigid nights. We got him a nice warm bath, a full belly, and to the vet within 24 hours. He had a severely infected leg and ear infections which are now healed. He was also very under weight which we are still working on.
Squirt has many scars, which makes us think he didn't have a very good start to life. Squirt loooves everyone and his stuffies. He is still a young pup, so he will still need some training. She's been with us since Jan 8th. She came to us with her puppies who have both found their furever homes. She has only received one application, but it wasn't a good fit for her needs.
Chloe is a 2 yr old Boxer Mix, who would love nothing more than to be someone’s sidekick! Her idea of a perfect day would be a nice, long walk followed by cuddling on the couch with lots of belly rubs!
Chloe is very smart, knows her basic commands & she’s working on her leash manners. New situations can make her a little nervous & to ensure she can succeed in her furever home, Chloe needs a patient & loving family that will continue with obedience training.
She is house & crate trained & while she’s K9 friendly, Chloe would do best in a home where she’s the only dog. Cats are unknown.

FIDO FRIDAY! This week we have adorable Maia from Steel City Dog Rescue!
How hasn't Maia been adopted yet?! She was a stray who had her puppies under a porch and did the best that she could to feed herself and her babies. They got into trouble after going after a farm animal, because they were hungry, so animal control was called.. That's how they made there way to Steel City Dog Rescue in PA. They were so scared and are now learning to trust. While all of Maia's babies were already adopted, Maia is still waiting for her fur-ever home. Hopefully you are the right person to give her the time to become totally comfortable and a great dog in your home.

Matilda is 8-10 years old. She came to Paws after she was found hiding underneath of a car. It was discovered that she has a large bite wound on her side either from a large dog or coyote. Matilda is the sweetest little girl, loves to be with people, especially going to car rides. She loves to snuggle and melts in your arms. She’s an amazing little girl. Matilda gets along with all of the dogs, foster doesn’t have cats but don’t think she would bother. She can be silly and playful and will let you know when she wants something. She had a dental this week and is fully vetted and looking for a special person to love her forever.

Squirt is a male boxer mix who we believe is around 11 months old. He joined TinyCause after a local UPS driver contacted us after almost hitting him, while Squirt was running the streets on one of the really frigid nights. We got him a nice warm bath, a full belly, and to the vet within 24 hours. He had a severely infected leg and ear infections which are now healed. He was also very under weight which we are still working on. Squirt has many scars, which makes us think he didn't have a very good start to life.
Squirt loooves everyone and his stuffies. He is still a young pup, so he will still need some training. He will be ready for adoption when he heals from his neuter. If interested in an adoption application, you can send an email to mindyjones027@gmail.com

Huck came to Animal Friends after his previous family was no longer a good fit for him. Since arriving, he has been a little shy when meeting new people but he is slowly warming up to us. these nuggets were supposed to be euthanized when brought in by animal control to a shelter in North Carolina. Maia was a stray who had her puppies under a porch and did the best that she could to feed herself and her babies. They got into trouble after going after a farm animal, because they were hungry, so animal control was called.. That's how they made there way to Steel City Dog Rescue in PA. They were so scared and are now learning to trust.
Mama and her little warriors have really started coming out of their shells and we are ready to start taking applications. Mom and pups need to become happy, healthy family members, so hopefully you are the family that is willing to give them the time to become totally comfortable and a great dog in your home.

These adorable ladies are 12 weeks old pitbull mixes from the same litter. These sweeties are the happiest bunch! They are looking for a home where they will be able to enjoy playing tug with toys, going for walks or hikes and maybe make a dog friend or two! They love other animals, people, and are extremely friendly. You can count on being showered with puppy kisses from these lil girls! When full grown we expect them to be at a minimum of 50 lbs.
