We should meditate and reflect on our brokenness, and rejoice for God's gift of irresistible grace.
Christmas is not just the celebration of Christ's birth, but also the recognition of the peace which Christ brings between God and those with whom He is pleased.
God reveals Himself, ultimately through Christ, with grace, truth and power, so that we may be humbled, enlightened and strengthened.
God delights in and we are strengthened by, humble, genuine prayer, so we should pray that way, through Christ.
Since we cannot always see God's plan and power in action, we must be careful not to judge his power by the appearance of the world, but instead by the truth of his promises.
While we are called to serve and live under earthly rulers, we must not put our faith in government or politics for our salvation, but in the true power and authority of God.

The purpose of church planting is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by creating centers of Gospel proclamation.
What does God want each of us to do to move forward in grace and glory in the new year?
Jesus' larger story of redemption brings us from waiting to wonder. The wonder of Christ's light to the nations. The wonder of Christ's redemption of the city.
God has created us and rightly deserves glory and worship from us; that's what we're made for. We exist to reflect glory and there is glory we can enjoy, but there is only one worthy of highest glory. Christ is the pinnacle of God's glory.
Because of Christ's exclusive identity, no one else is like Jesus. Because of Christ's sufficient work, we find salvation in Him alone.
Faith is rooted in simply receiving what is given to us. Since we are declared righteous with God by faith alone, we should cherish our free justification, our free righteous status with God by faith.
Because Scripture alone contains all necessary for salvation, we should uphold it and not add to it.
Instead of falling to the extremes of idolatrous, unregulated worship and legalistic over-regulated worship, we should simply rely on the Word of God and follow Jesus.
Since we are strangers in this world we should always be comfortable in Christ, but uncomfortable in this world.
There is great freedom and joy in being content with what God has provided for us and desire God above all the things of this world.
God speaks the truth and because of that, we have freedom, in Christ, to also speak the truth.
Since God gives from His abundance to provide what we do no deserve, we should refrain from stealing, diligently work, and generously share.
Since the justified anger of God is atoned for by Christ, we should turn from our unjustified angry, murderous ways and love.

When Jesus rises, He not only proves His salvation, but also restores humanity, so we should respond to His resurrection.
Because Jesus died to satisfy the Creator's judgment against us sinful creatures, we should respond in faith.
Since God is just judge of all, we should lay hold of the righteous record of Christ by faith.
Since there are two ways to live, one which is eternal life in Jesus, and another which is not, we should prepare to communicate the Gospel.
