We live in a world that constantly measures people by what we can see: their success, appearance, influence, wealth, background, or what they can offer us. But followers of Jesus are called to see people differently. In “Growing Together,” we continue our journey through the book of James and discover how favoritism can quietly shape the way we see and treat others. James 2:1-13 challenges us to examine our judgments and allow God’s mercy to transform the way we value, love, and respond to the people around us. Spiritual maturity isn’t only revealed in what we believe; it’s also revealed in how we treat others.

Why is it that even when we want to do what's right, we often find ourselves pulled in the opposite direction? Temptation is something every person faces, but it doesn't have to define our lives. James offers a powerful reminder that God is not trying to trip us up—He's working to make us stronger. As we learn to recognize the lies that pull us away from Him and trust in His unchanging goodness, we discover the strength to stand firm and the hope of new life through Jesus Christ. Whether you're facing a daily struggle or a season of spiritual battle, this message points to the God who is always faithful and whose plans for you are always good.

Trials have a way of exposing what's really happening inside our hearts. They reveal our fears, challenge our faith, and often leave us searching for answers. But what if those difficult moments could become opportunities for spiritual growth instead of discouragement? As we continue our study through the book of James, we'll discover that God doesn't waste our struggles. He offers wisdom for every season, strength for every challenge, and an eternal perspective that helps us remain faithful even when life is difficult. If you've ever asked, "God, what am I supposed to do now?" this message is for you.

The world teaches us to focus on what we can see, touch, achieve, and control—but Jesus continually called people to see beyond what was right in front of them. When Jesus said, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near,” He was inviting people into a completely different way of thinking and living. Following Jesus means allowing Him to reshape our perspective so we stop viewing life only through earthly priorities and begin seeing through the lens of eternity, faith, and God’s greater purpose. In this message, we’ll discover that if we want to follow Jesus, we can’t simply live like everyone else—we must learn to see differently.

In this message from our “DON’T BE NORMAL” series, we explore how following Jesus changes the way we view our finances and resources. While culture tells us to accumulate more, protect more, and trust in what we have, Jesus invites us into a different way of living—one marked by trust, purpose, and open-handed dependence on God. In a world that constantly pressures us to blend in, follow trends, and rely on our own strength, Jesus calls His followers to live differently. In week two of “DON’T BE NORMAL,” we explore what it means to live a Spirit-filled life in a spiritually empty world. The Holy Spirit was never meant to be a distant idea or a theological concept, but the very presence of God living within us—bringing new life, real transformation, and supernatural power. When we allow God’s Spirit to fill our lives, we stop settling for what the world offers and begin living the kind of life Jesus truly intended for His people.

In a world where everyone is trying to fit in, follow trends, and chase what culture says will bring happiness, Jesus calls us to something completely different. In this brand-new series, Don’t Be Normal, we’ll explore how following Jesus has never been about blending in with the crowd. Through the powerful words of Jesus in Matthew 5, we’ll discover that God’s definition of blessing, purpose, and fulfillment often looks very different from what our world celebrates. The way of Jesus may not always seem “normal,” but it leads to the kind of life, peace, and hope that culture can never truly provide.

As we continue in our Known series, we go back to Genesis 3 to uncover the root of our identity struggle. What began with a single lie in the Garden still impacts us today—shaping how we see ourselves, leading us away from God’s best, and leaving us carrying shame we were never meant to bear. But the story doesn’t end there. Through Jesus, what was broken is restored. He didn’t just come to forgive sin—He came to remove shame and restore our true identity as sons and daughters of God. If you’ve ever wrestled with insecurity, comparison, or feeling like something is wrong with you, this message will point you back to the truth of who you are in Christ.

In this message from our Known series, Designed for Purpose, we explore the truth that God created each of us on purpose and for a purpose. While purpose is given by God, it can be easily distracted by regret, fear, and comparison if we are not careful. Scripture calls us not just to discover our purpose, but to develop it through faithful obedience and growth. Ultimately, we are responsible for what God has entrusted to us, and when we live it out, our lives bring Him glory.

This message in the series Known continues the journey of understanding who we are by looking beyond comparison, insecurity, and the pressure to measure ourselves against others. It explores the truth that your life is not random or accidental, but carefully and intentionally formed by God, even when it doesn’t always feel that way. And when our view of ourselves gets distorted, Jesus steps in to restore what’s been broken and bring us back into right identity. Through Him, we are not only forgiven but brought into a secure place as God’s children—fully known, fully loved, and invited to live with confidence in who He says we are.

In this opening message of our series Known, we explore how the way we view ourselves influences the direction of our lives and why so many people feel unstable or uncertain about who they are. Instead of looking inward or outward for answers, we’re invited to look upward—to the God who created us in His image and knows us completely. When we begin to understand who He is, we finally start to understand who we are, discovering an identity that is not temporary or fragile, but eternal and unshakable.

Life is rarely a straight line; it’s a journey filled with unexpected turns, mountain-top views, and dry, lonely stretches. We all know what it’s like to have a "great day" followed immediately by a week where everything seems to go wrong.
In this first part of our new series, "The Journey," we look at the start of Jesus’ public life. It began at a river—a moment of clarity, purpose, and belonging. But almost immediately, that journey led into the wilderness. It’s a transition we’ve all felt: moving from a place of peace into a season of testing, doubt, and struggle.

Life has a way of bringing us to moments where we stop and ask, “How did I get here?” Sometimes it’s the result of our own choices, sometimes the actions of others, and sometimes circumstances we never saw coming. In one of the lowest moments of David’s life, everything he and his men loved was suddenly gone and the future looked hopeless. Yet in the middle of devastation and uncertainty, God showed that even when everything seems lost, He is still able to guide, restore, and accomplish His purpose. This message explores how God meets us in our worst moments and leads us forward when we don’t know the way.

Peter’s story reminds us that our failures aren’t the end of our story, they’re often the beginning of God’s redemption. Even after Peter denied Jesus three times, Jesus didn’t see just his mistakes, He saw his potential for redemption. Pastor Scott encourages us to release our past mistakes, accept God’s forgiveness, and trust in Jesus' power to transform our future.

Just like a building is not complete until its final inspection, we are not complete until the day we stand before God. While we are here on earth, we have the responsibility to continue the sanctification process, becoming more like Christ. This is a process that takes work. But don't worry. You don't do this alone.

When a house or building catches our eye, we usually appreciate its architecture, design, or maybe its outside appearance. One can walk into a home and appreciate the layout, space, or decorations. However, no one enjoys a house or building for its foundation.
In Part 3 of our “Build” message series, Pastor Devin focuses on digging the foundation. We can focus so much on what others “see” in us, but in reality, what is happening in our lives that no one notices makes all the difference. Join us for this challenging and timely message.

It’s usually an exciting time when a building project starts. Dreams of the newly completed project give initial energy and hope. As we enter this new year, we believe God wants to BUILD something in our lives!
However, before something is built properly, the site must be cleared and prepared. The same is the case in our lives. When God wants to build something in us, he first needs to remove the junk that doesn’t belong. This isn’t as fun as seeing something get built. But it is essential.

As Christmas approaches, we are flooded with commercials, marketing, and influence, telling us what they think we need. We will spend time with friends and family, who bring their opinions and perspectives on life. On top of that, we will soon be entering a new year, which forces us to look at our goals and priorities for the next season of life.
But as we read the Christmas story, we see two young teens following God’s will for their lives when everyone told them to live differently. Join us as we are reminded of Joseph’s faith as he chose to ignore the fear of what others thought of him and obeyed God.

Sometimes, it's scary when God chooses us to serve him, and we struggle to receive the call. Join us as we look at Mary’s example of obedience.

Fear is a natural human emotion that helps us with self-preservation or prevents us from doing something crazy that would cause pain. However, like other emotions, fear must be kept in check. Fear can sometimes run wild when we think of ‘what could happen,’ even though it didn’t happen.
The coming of Christ, celebrated at Christmas time, is the coming of peace, joy, hope and love. It is not the coming of fear. As we look at the Christmas story this season, we are going to look at four different times the angels said, “do not fear.” Join us as we start our new series called “Fear Not.”

Every now and then, someone might go to a store and forget what they went there for. As a church, sometimes we forget why we are “on mission.” We can talk about sending people out, but why are we sending them?
In this Message, Pastor Devin is in week 3 of this sermon series called “SEND.” As we continue to look at Paul’s first missionary journey in Acts 13 and 14, the “why” being the “go” is clearly revealed. The going is because of the gospel!

What is required for a church to be a sending church? Should we forsake meeting together in exchange for going? Have our churches become too ‘attractional’ and have ceased being ‘missional’? As we look at the start of Barnabas and Paul’s first missionary journey, we see times when they are gathering and times they are going. This is a model for our churches today to not choose one over the other but to help us see we can be a church that gathers and a church that goes at the same time.

There are a lot of people around us who can influence us. We have people who influence us in unhealthy ways and people who are great examples for our lives who inspire us. Within Christianity, it has been not easy to trust people. We hear news reports of pastors who fail, we get hurt by people in church, and we don’t feel that we can trust people anymore.
In this message, Pastor Devin looks at the early church in Antioch. This church was a great example of God’s people living faithfully for God. Sometimes in life we miss the mark. We can focus our attention on the wrong areas or get distracted by the things that don’t matter or are not as important. This also happens in the church today.
Pastor Devin starts teaching in Acts chapter 2. This chapter is a model for a healthy purpose and mission for a church, as we see power, preaching and people in Acts 2. In this message, we focus on the Power that we need, and where that power comes from.

“Judas” is not a popular name used in America. Not many parents are choosing to name their child “Judas” over names like “John”, “Mark”, “Carson”, or “Tyler”. The reason goes all the way back to the Bible story of Judas betraying Jesus.
In this message, Pastor Devin encourages us, if we are not going to even name our children “Judas”, let us not act like Judas. Let us look at the mistakes he made and learn from him. Even though his mistakes are similar to Peter’s, their outcomes in life are completely different.

In part 2 of Acts: REAL FAITH, we look at Jesus' final words to his disciples before he ascended into heaven. There are a lot of mindsets and ideologies within our American culture today. One popular one is, “Do whatever makes you feel happy.” It seems that whenever someone says, ‘this makes me happy’, that is reason alone for their choice. But what does Jesus say? Does Jesus want us to be happy? How do we find the balance between happiness, and walking in holiness?
Today Pastor Devin shares that Jesus never said, “do what makes you feel happy.” Instead, he has called us to walk in obedience with God’s word. But does that mean Jesus calls us to a miserable life of suffering? Absolutely not! Join us today as we look at the tension between obedience and joy.

There are a lot of the sayings of Jesus that get thrown around in our culture today. Many times, there are things we think Jesus said, but he never actually said them. It’s also powerful to look at some of the situations Jesus was in, and realize he had an opportunity to say certain things, but he didn’t.
Today Pastor Devin shares that Jesus never said, “you don’t need to forgive them.” Many of us wish that Jesus would give us that pass, those of us who have been hurt, offended, even abused. The thought of forgiving someone seems unrealistic. But Jesus never gave us that pass, He commands us to forgive always. Why? Join us today and find out.

We are starting 2023 believing that God has BETTER for us in this new year. However, BETTER doesn’t mean God gives us everything we want. BETTER means walking more closely to him and following His perfect will for our lives.
There are many aspects of following Jesus more closely and many areas we can experience BETTER from God. Today, Pastor Devin is finishing up the book of Philippians as we think about BETTER GENEROSITY in 2023. In Acts 20:35, it records Jesus’ words of, “it is more blessed to give than to receive.” Is it really BETTER to give? Pastor Devin is going to show us why Jesus’ words are true!

As Christmas is a time of remembering Christ, it is also a time for gathering with friends and families. Some of those relationships come easy…some come with past baggage and hurt. As Pastor Devin continues teaching from Philippians, we see the church in Philippi was also dealing with conflict. Join us today as we look at how we can exchange division for unity during this Christmas season.

December is a month of celebration, and it is also a month of decisions. Which parties will I go to, what will I buy for presents, how will I use my time, what Christmas movie will I watch? For each decision we take hold of what we want, and we let go to what is not as important. Today (12.11.22) Pastor Devin is talking about another exchange we make as we follow Jesus. Join us as we continue in Philippians 3.

Today (12.4.22) Pastor Devin continues in teaching in Philippians as we see the great gift exchange that God made as he sent his Son for us! As we take time to study history, there is story after story of people who have impacted our lives. Most of these people we have never met, some we have close relationships with. These are people who should be honored and remembered. Today as we study the book of Philippians, we are given the example of honoring others, while recognizing that Jesus is Greater than everyone. Pastor Devin explains how having that understanding helps us to live for Him in a way where our lives will make a difference in other people’s lives!

“My Way” was a hit song by Frank Sinatra in the 60’s that was an immediate hit. It resonated in the hearts of many, as every human heart wants to seek its own will and desires. Then Jesus comes with a message of sacrifice, and selflessness. It’s a hard message to receive. Today Pastor Devin encourages us from Philippians 2 as we learn that Jesus is greater than everything, even ourselves! Join us as we hear the joy and benefits that come from putting others first.

“God when will you answer my prayer?” If we are honest, we ask this question often as we wait for God to answer some prayers. We wish God would “hurry up” with the answers. We run out of patience, and sadly sometimes, we run out of faith to believe that God is still working in our situations. In Part 4 of “Praying with Power, Pastor Devin explains how we can pray prayers that get answered QUICKLY. The prophet Daniel in the Bible was a man whose prayers were answered quickly? Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was betrayed. Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, turned Him over for thirty shekels of silver. One of His closest friends, selling the Son of God into a painful, shameful death. A couple of the central themes throughout scripture is that every person is different, yet we are not called to be alone. Those two themes sometimes are hard for us to reconcile because many times we only like to be around people who are the same. But as Pastor Devin will explain from Ephesians 4:1-16, different people with different gifts are called to serve and work “together”!
