Kevin would have risked Covid-19 to watch this film because of the admiration for Denzel. This movie was directed by John Lee Hancock who wrote the movie Se7en. On a cold winters evening in 2021 Kevin asked Dougie to watch a movie. Kevin thought Dougie might like it. What you are about o hear is the podcast they recorded regarding that film, starring Riz Ahmed and Paul Raci. The movie was “Sound of Metal”
Kevin and Dougie are back in the studio to use their lassos of truth on WW84. In 2017 the female lead “Wonder Woman” broke records and proved that the world was ready for girl super heroes! In 2020 “Wonder Woman 1984” proved that you have to have more than a concept and a successful first film, to make a good movie. Also decent writing is important, and a plot that makes even the tiniest amount of sense, and the bad guy should have some humanity before he turns into the worlds crappiest villain with no motivation, even if humanity is attempted in the last 13 seconds… and well you get the drift. Also dead people should stay dead.
This is the second half of our year end episode. As life got crazy toward the end of the year Kevin and Dougie were busy watching things and NOT recording. So we try to to catch the listeners up with some things to watch and maybe some things we might steer clear of. As a child, Will Ferrell loved watching the Eurovision Song Contest. As an adult he offered us a comedy upon which the likes had never been seen. He somehow convinced Rachel McAdams to co-starring with him and then convinced Kevin and Doug to watch it. Listen to their thoughts on this weeks episode. We cover A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, Dark Waters, Ford Vs Ferrari, Parasite, Motherless Brooklyn and Marriage Story, but it took 76 minutes. Kevin and Doug each bring three films to the table that the other one hasn’t seen. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take a listen and find out what you are missing!

Earlier this year acclaimed independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch gave audiences “The Dead Don’t Die" his take on the ever popular “Zombie Genre.” Adam Driver and Bill Murray give some great performances but was it enough? On this weeks episode the guys welcome six year old Gracie into the studio to talk about Jon Favreau’s “The Lion King.” Dougie (or this week as he is known as “Grandpa”) discusses his dislike for the current onslaught of remakes Disney is throwing at us. Gracie who normally talks nonstop about movies is shy as an official guest, and Kevin pulled out all of his hair while trying to edit the sound as they used a three mic technique (which failed miserably.)
