Personally, I love a beautiful, reverent liturgy. It is a source of great love, devotion, and transcendence of the mind and heart to the things of God. But what good is a beautiful Sunday liturgy, what good is the thousands of years of refinement, what good is the most sublime of prayers, if that magnanimity of soul only exists for an hour a two a week. If every other moment of your week is dedicated to the vulgar, what good is beauty? So today I want to help you to recognize the vulgarity of the world and implore you to reject it in favor of a sublime life.

In my appeal I do want to emphasize that this is NOT an on and off switch that we can just reject all things vulgar without a special grace from our Lady. I myself fall into many of the habits of the Vulgar World. Living a sublime life is like any virtue, it takes time, the will to change, and repetition. So please do not feel that you are being personally attacked by anything said today, every aspect applies to me as well.

Before I finish my introduction I want to give everyone an outline, in hopes it will help you to remember at least some aspects of the talk.
First, I want to expose the vulgar-egalitarian revolution for what it is. To show you that it is present in every aspect of our lives. I will be focusing on clothing, language, food, and actions. Much more could be said about movies, books, music, etc. but perhaps for a future date.

Second, I will explain what I mean by the sublime life. How is sublimity differentiated from beauty? I will demonstrate that to live a sublime life is to live a divine life, which necessitates being an anti-egalitarian. I will give examples of what this looks like in real life and prove that our exterior life reflects and affects our interior life.

Thirdly, and most importantly I will conclude with Our Lady as the exemplar of the sublime life.

Finally, as I conclude my introduction with an invocation to Our Lady and to the Angels, that they may lift our minds and hearts to heavenly things and fill us with a desire for the sublime and a hatred for what is vulgar.

The attire of the body and the laughter of the teeth and the gait of the man show what he is. (Ecclesiasticus 19:27)

Moreover, a significant part of Catholic public opinion is beginning to show disquiet at the excessive invocation of the Holy Spirit as a propeller of the synodal process. This invocation, made as it were in a definitive and final decree, seems to belie the excessive haste of progressive minorities to impose some largely debatable issues and other issues that the Church’s Magisterium has already closed definitively.

Suppose we add to this the synodal documents’ often hermetic language, understandable only to insiders. In that case, we understand how the real People of God feel “lost, confused, perplexed and even disappointed,” to paraphrase John Paul II.11

TFP’s The Synodal Process Is a Pandora’s Box has come out precisely in this confusing and seemingly inexplicable situation.

By explaining what is at stake simply and directly, the book has put together the pieces of a puzzle. Based on statements by its leading advocates, the work made it clear that the synodal process is neither transparent nor spontaneous but yet another attempt to revolutionize the Church. Many of the faithful have felt mocked and have begun to raise their voices so that “[people] began to make explicit [their] fears about what might happen in the Church after the assembly.”12

The future is in God’s hands through the universal mediation of Mary Most Holy. However, one thing is certain: any attempt to change the Church’s divine constitution or infallible doctrine is hopeless, as Our Lord Jesus Christ founded the Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against her.

Car accident had too much to drink, texting and driving and blasting music you strike a car killing a young man the only son of an infertile mother. If you are a man of any sort of conscious the moment of your freedom from prison you would fling your self to the feet of that mother and beg her forgivness. For who could not look at that woman and not weep at what she lost. How much more you who took her son from her.
Now this becomes even worse when we realize that our lady is not someone elses mother for she is the mother of God and our mother
Have you ever gravely offended your siblings and you get chastised by your mother and you apologize to your mother for your behavior yet your mother says don’t apologize to me apologize to your brother.
Here we have a right instinct to apologize to your mother for to offend her children is to offend the parents. Yet the mother’s response is also right, for the terminus of the apology should be with the directly grieved party.
So thus with our lady who takes all we have and directs us back to her son.
Model of confession:
1. After sinning repent to her as the son does who offends his brother
2. She will direct you to the confessional
3. After coming out of the confessional fall to your knees and repent as the drunk driver does to the mother of the son you killed
One more story, the mother who forgive her sons murderer
If this can be true of a natural virtue how much more is she who is all virtue

In his latest book, Dr. Peter Kwasniewski argues that, ever since the new liturgical books following the Second Vatican Council came into force, Roman Catholic faithful have suffered the effects of a hasty and far-reaching reform permeated with nominalism, voluntarism, Protestantism, rationalism, antiquarianism, hyperpapalism, and other modern errors. Man is not master over divine liturgy, Dr. Kwasniewski emphasizes; rather, all of us are called to be stewards of the sacred, from the lowest-ranking layman to the pope himself. Dr. Kwasnieski shows that sacred Tradition is the guiding principle for all authentic Christian liturgy, which originates from Christ and is guided by the Holy Spirit throughout the life of the Church. The Catholic Church has been a part of English history since the arrival of Christian missionaries to Roman Britain in the first century AD. England was evangelized in these early centuries to such an extent that, by the time the Romans withdrew in the fifth century, the Celtic population was largely Catholic.

Anglo-Saxon England has rightly been considered a land of saints. From St. Bede's account of the history of the early Church to the reign of the holy king, St. Edward the Confessor, Saxon England was ablaze with the light of Christ.

This Catholic heart was ripped from the people of England, against their will and in spite of their heroic resistance, by the reign of the tyrannical Tudors. This made England once again a land of saints, though it was now a land of martyrs, Catholic priests and laity being put to death for practicing the Faith. The martyrdoms continued for 150 years, followed by a further 150 years of legal and political persecution.

In the nineteenth century, against all the odds, there was a great Catholic revival, heralded by the conversion of St. John Henry Newman, which would continue into the twentieth century. Much of the greatest literature of the past century has been written by literary converts, such as G. K. Chesterton, Evelyn Waugh, Graham Greene and J. R. R. Tolkien.

This whole exciting, faith-filled story is told within this single-volume history of "true England", the England which remained true to the Faith through thick and thin, in times both merry and perilous. It is a story which is not only worth telling but worth celebrating.

In November of last year, I shared a provocative hypothesis: thanks to the discovery of new evidence, it was possible for the first time to confirm that the long-rumored American “Turkey Indult” directly from the Pope did in fact occur, although not quite the way we thought.
Participants in the “Turkey Indult” conversation generally fall into three camps:
● No, the Turkey Indult did not happen; it has been conflated with diocesan permissions for indults.
● Yes, Pope Pius XII did issue a Turkey Indult in 1958 that remained applicable beyond 1958.
● You’re still talking about this?
My position was a fourth way: The papally-issued Turkey Indult happened in 1958 only, and was likely issued by Pope St. John XXIII, not Pius XII. And yes, we are still talking about it, thank you. A Plea for Intolerance

"America, it is said, is suffering from intolerance. It is not. It is suffering from tolerance: tolerance of right and wrong, truth and error, virtue and evil, Christ and chaos. Our country is not nearly so much overrun with the bigoted as it is overrun with the broadminded. The man who can make up his mind in an orderly way, as a man might make up his bed, is called a bigot; but a man who cannot make up his mind, any more than he can make up for lost time, is called tolerant and broadminded. A bigoted man is one who refuses to accept a reason for anything; a broadminded man is one who will accept anything for a reason—providing it is not a good reason. It is true that there is a demand for precision, exactness, and definiteness, but it is only for precision in scientific measurement, not in logic. The breakdown that has produced this unnatural broadmindedness is mental, not moral. The evidence for this statement is threefold: the tendency to settle issues not by arguments but by words, the unqualified willingness to accept the authority of anyone on the subject of religion, and, lastly, the love of novelty.

Voltaire boasted that if he could find but ten wicked words a day he could crush the “infamy” of Christianity. He found the ten words daily, and even a daily dozen, but he never found an argument, and so the words went the way of all words and the thing, Christianity, survived. Today, no one advances even a poor argument to prove that there is no God, but they are legion who think they have sealed up the heavens when they used the word “anthropomorphism.” This word is just a sample of the catalogue of names which serve as the excuse for those who are too lazy to think. One moment’s reflection would tell them that one can no more get rid of God by calling Him “anthropomorphic” than he can get rid of a sore throat by calling it “streptococci.” As regards the use of the term “anthropomorphism,” I cannot see that its use in theology is less justified than the use in physics of the term “organism,” which the new physicists are so fond of employing. Certain words like “reactionary” or “medieval” are tagged on the Catholic Church and used with that same disrespect with which a man may sneer at a woman’s age. Mothers do not cease to be mothers because their sons grow up, and the Mother Church of the Christian world, which began not in Boston but in Jerusalem, is not to be dispossessed of her glorious title simply because her sons leave home. Some day they may be glad to return and their return will be the truest “homecoming” the world has ever seen.

Not only does the substitution of words for argument betray the existence of this false tolerance, but also the readiness of many minds to accept as an authority in any field an individual who becomes a famous authority in one particular field. The assumption behind journalistic religion is that because a man is clever in inventing automobiles, he is thereby clever in treating the relationship between Buddhism and Christianity; that a professor who is an authority on the mathematical interpretation of atomic phenomena is thereby an authority on the interpretation of marriage; and that am an who knows something about illumination can throw light on the subject of immortality, or perhaps even put out the lights on immortality. There is a limit to the transfer of training, and no one who paints beautiful pictures with his right hand can, in a day and at the suggestion of a reporter, paint an equally good one with his left hand..."

At that time, Italy was divided into many small kingdoms, principates and free cities that made up the colorful, picturesque, efficient and stable Italy that we admire. The revolutionaries, however, had a plan to unify Italy and destroy those organic cells. They supported the liberal Pope and used to shout in the streets Viva Pio IX! as a rallying cry for the anarquists, socialists, members of the Mafia and Camorra, and others affiliated to the sect of Mazzini [the leader of the Carbonari, an Italian Masonry]. The cry - Viva Pio IX! - became therefore a symbol of the liberal and Masonic campaign to unify Italy by combating those organic small thrones.

Interview with Fr. Thomas Crean OP on what a Catholic Government looks like.

Fr Thomas Crean OP was born in 1973, in Harpenden, England. He studied at St. John’s College, Oxford. He entered the Dominican Order in 1995, and was ordained priest in 2001. He received the licence in theology from the Institut Thomas d'Aquin in Toulouse and the doctorate in theology from the International Theological Institute in Trumau, Austria.

He has worked in parochial and hospital ministry and as a university chaplain. He has taught at various institutions of higher education in the United Kingdom and abroad. His books include A Catholic Replies to Professor Dawkins; The Mass and the Saints; Integralism: a Manual of Political Philosophy (co-written with Alan Fimister); and St Luke's Gospel: a commentary for believers. His book Florence became a New Sion: a defence of the 'Filioque' and the Council of Florence is due to be published in Autumn 2022 by Emmaus Academic.

He is currently resident at Holy Cross Priory, Leicester. He is a Fellow of the Dialogos Institute.

People are fed up with "democracy" so among faithful Catholics there is more and more talk about other forms of government like Fascism, Monarchy, Distributism, Catholic Anarchy, Theocracy, Solidarity Party, and Feudalism.

Can we fix our current forms of government or do they need to fundamentally change?

How would a Catholic country look like? Do we tolerate other religions? Does the Church run the country? Can non-Catholic's hold office? What level of obedience do these Catholic rulers owe to their bishops and the pope?

Two swords doctrine? What is it? I have been told that the Church no longer believes this, is that true?

Where does the supernatural element play in here? I am personally thinking of the coming of the reign of Mary and the prophecy of the Great French Monarch. Should we take into account private revelation into this conversation?

Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me." The Lord said to her in reply, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her."

Mary hath chosen the best part. Luke 10. Just as the present feast and solemnity is of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and this feast is the end and the closure of the life of the Virgin Mary, so therefore it is to be spoken about her life. And we have not only intellectual speculations but also moral instructions. But if in our other sermons we turn to the Virgin asking for grace, how much more now ought we return to refer to her because we intend to preach about her, so that we might call forth devotion, let us now salute the Virgin Mary etc. And the theme is resumed.

Tradition holds that St. Elias was assumed into Heaven and will come again as the forerunner of Christ to do battle with the Antichrist. This is all about that!

“And as they went on, walking and talking together, behold, a fiery chariot and fiery horses parted them both asunder: and Elias went up by a whirlwind into heaven.” (2 Kings 2:11)

Elias was indeed covered with the whirlwind, and his spirit was filled up in Eliseus: in his days he feared not the prince, and no man was more powerful than he. (Ecclesiasticus 48:13)

Behold, I will send you Elias the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers: lest I come, and strike the earth with anathema. (Mal 4:5–6)

On 16th October of 2002, His Holiness John Paul II began the 25th Anniversary of his Pontificate by publishing an Apostolic Letter, in which he inaugurated the Year of the Rosary, to last from October 2002 till October 2003. In this Letter the Pope also introduced five new mysteries of the rosary to be included with the traditional ones.

The following are the Mysteries of Light as proposed by Fr Preca, and by the Pope, respectively.

I respond to an email I got saying that Pro-Choice Catholics are a real option.

Here's the text of the email

Adrian, today is the last day that I will listen to your podcast. You presume that all Catholics agree abiut abortion and choice . Perhaps your Podcast is kind of like Fox News - there to present one viewpoint.

I am Democrat, a mother, a Catholic and pro choice. I’m also pro life. I am against the death penalty, and I do not wish for any woman to have to go through an abortion. Unfortunately those on the right view “life” through a very narrow lens. And this is the reason why I am so disgusted by podcasts like yours that within the first two minutes talk about “killing babies“. No one, I repeat, no one, wants to kill babies. Everyone wants a baby to be born into a loving household. Unfortunately that is not always how it works. Pregnancies occur for a number of reasons. This might be a newsflash for you sir, but men participate in pregnancies. There’s no conversation about the man’s role in any of this, ever.

If the Catholic Church was truly pro-life, it would be the first in line to champion for national healthcare, excellent prenatal care, a support system for all women before during and after the pregnancies, and strive to ensure that every child from birth through adulthood receives an equitable and excellent education family support and healthcare. Where is that part of the conversation? You can’t talk about being pro life if you don’t want to fully engage in the entirety of the coversation.

I will not listen to your podcast again, and I would not encourage any of my friends to listen to it. Shame on you for fanning the flames.

"This day, is born to you a Savior," (Lk 2:11). Our sermon will be about the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Virgin Birth. But that you might sense the spiritual sweetness of this feast, we shall salute the glorious Mother of God. [Vincent now leads his listeners in the "Hail Mary."]

"There is born to us etc." From the beginning of the world up to the birth of Christ there has never been heard such good news, nor so useful for mankind like the news of the proposed theme, "This day, is born to you a Savior," (Lk 2:11) etc. To all who were lost and damned and sentenced to hell. The declaration of this blessed Nativity I deal with in five conclusions.

First, that this blessed Nativity was from of old ardently desired by the saints.
Second, that this blessed Nativity was cruelly unappreciated by the Jews.
Third, that this blessed Nativity was celebrated powerfully by God.
Fourth, that this blessed Nativity was humbly hidden by the Virgin Mary.
Fifth, that this blessed Nativity was broadcast publicly by the angels saying, "This day, is born to you a Savior," (Lk 2:11).

And anyone who, curiously, might wish to preach all five conclusions, would be excessively prolix. And all are touched in the theme, in which there are five conditions. The first, therefore, is touched by the first saying. The second in the second. The third in the third, and so on for the others.

The same false teachers who try to dim the luster of conjugal faith and purity do not scruple to do away with the honorable and trusting obedience which the woman owes to the man. Many of them even go further and assert that such a subjection of one party to the other is unworthy of human dignity, that the rights of husband and wife are equal; wherefore, they boldly proclaim the emancipation of women has been or ought to be effected. This emancipation in their ideas must be threefold, in the ruling of the domestic society, in the administration of family affairs and in the rearing of the children. …

This, however, is not the true emancipation of woman, nor that rational and exalted liberty which belongs to the noble office of a Christian woman and wife; it is rather the debasing of the womanly character and the dignity of motherhood, and indeed of the whole family, as a result of which the husband suffers the loss of his wife, the children of their mother, and the home and the whole family of an ever watchful guardian. More than this, this false liberty and unnatural equality with the husband is to the detriment of the woman herself, for if the woman descends from her truly regal throne to which she has been raised within the walls of the home by means of the Gospel, she will soon be reduced to the old state of slavery (if not in appearance, certainly in reality) and become as amongst the pagans the mere instrument of man (Casti Cannubii, §§74–75).

How should we give fraternal correction?

Matthew 18:15-20
First, we are to correct the sinner privately.
Second, if he refuses to listen, we bring one or two others.
Finally, if necessary, the sinner must be brought to the Church. If he refuses even the correction of the Church, and if the matter is serious, he is to be excommunicated – for this is what our Lord means when he tells us, And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican

There ought to be a real fault committed, or a real danger incurred
It must proceed from real charity, that is, from a real love for the person, and a desire for the good of his soul and never out of pride. For pride cometh before the fall, a man who corrects in pride will turn your friend into an enemy. If it comes from anger or hatred you will be evil for your soul.
Correct with meekness recognizing that you yourself are a sinner and in need of salvation. St. Paul, “if a man be overtaken in any fault, you who are spiritual, instruct such an one in the spirit of meekness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.” (Gal. 6:1).
There is a time and place for everything. Correcting someone after their mother dies at the funeral as they weep in the arms of the person they are cohabitating with is not the right time or place. In fact you will cause their hearts to be hardened and could lose them all together. | Correcting someone on stage is also a bad idea as it will humiliate them and cause them to defend their sin and hide their sin. | In these situations there is little to no hope of success.
Look to God. Pray that God grants you the words to say and that God softens the heart of your friend that they be converted. Recognize that any good comes from God alone and you are an instrument. Never presume of our own abilities.
it will be often necessary for them both to correct in public, and punish, where there are small hopes of amendment; for the sake of discipline, and for preventing the fall of others, and lest their silence should be interpreted an approbation.

Catechism of the Catholic Church
2382 The Lord Jesus insisted on the original intention of the Creator who willed that marriage be indissoluble. He abrogates the accommodations that had slipped into the old Law.
Between the baptized, "a ratified and consummated marriage cannot be dissolved by any human power or for any reason other than death."

2383 The separation of spouses while maintaining the marriage bond can be legitimate in certain cases provided for by canon law.
If civil divorce remains the only possible way of ensuring certain legal rights, the care of the children, or the protection of inheritance, it can be tolerated and does not constitute a moral offense.

2384 Divorce is a grave offense against the natural law. It claims to break the contract, to which the spouses freely consented, to live with each other till death. Divorce does injury to the covenant of salvation, of which sacramental marriage is the sign. Contracting a new union, even if it is recognized by civil law, adds to the gravity of the rupture: the remarried spouse is then in a situation of public and permanent adultery:

If a husband, separated from his wife, approaches another woman, he is an adulterer because he makes that woman commit adultery, and the woman who lives with him is an adulteress, because she has drawn another's husband to herself.

2385 Divorce is immoral also because it introduces disorder into the family and into society. This disorder brings grave harm to the deserted spouse, to children traumatized by the separation of their parents and often torn between them, and because of its contagious effect which makes it truly a plague on society.

2386 It can happen that one of the spouses is the innocent victim of a divorce decreed by civil law; this spouse therefore has not contravened the moral law. There is a considerable difference between a spouse who has sincerely tried to be faithful to the sacrament of marriage and is unjustly abandoned, and one who through his own grave fault destroys a canonically valid marriage

I am trying to do a holy hour and better mortify myself this Lent, but I am already feeling weak and soft about it. Do you ever get like that? As Lent goes on do you find yourself being less strict on yourself? When you fail do you just pick up and start over? I also struggle with wondering if my acts of reparation are good enough and if I am doing everything wholeheartedly? Do you ever question if you were too lenient on yourself in some things?
