Nicole Burgess is a licensed psychotherapist and introvert mentor to NF’s and HSP professional women. She helps them end the overwhelm and stressed out cycle so that they can be more connected in relationships, thrive in life and create harmony both professionally and personally.

In this episode, I talk about money mindset. I love talking about money. The reason is I love helping other women work through their fears around money. Suze Orman talks about “standing in your truth” and I love that statement because when you do you stand in your own truth you come from an empowered place. First, you need to know what you keep telling yourself, then take action to change it.

A common theme that prevents women from having an abundant mindset is shame. Shame is often the stopper for women in owning their money story and letting it go. Give yourself permission starting today to bring the shame into the light so it no longer has power over you.

Dalila Jusic-LaBerge is a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing in California. Dalila graduated from UCLA, and got her masters degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University. She is the owner of Be Here & Now Counseling and Relationship Academy and has been practicing since 2006, working with individuals, couples, and families. Dalila currently offers online therapy services in the state of California.

She grew up in former Yugoslavia, a socialist country where women were considered to be equal to men, Dalila's seen that patriarchic values were still prominent. Women have the same legal rights as men do, but there are so many messages that both men and women get about how they should be in this world.

Women's behaviors and worldviews are especially scrutinized. Since tribal societies, women were considered a commodity. Although we don't express this openly, this kind of mentality is still deep down in people's psyche. Moreover, parents raise women to be "nice girls," which makes it very hard for women to focus on their own wellbeing. This awareness led Dalila to be passionate about women's mental health.

  • 70% are introverts and 30% are extroverts
  • Just as many men as women who are highly sensitive

  • What DOES is and means: Depth of processing, Overarousability, Emotional Intensity, and Sensory Sensitivity
  • Depth of processing-functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies-brain activities in particular areas are activated-deeper processing and reflect more.
  • Overarousability-Easily Overstimulated/Overaroused-too bored or too overstimulated and going for optimal level.
  • Emotional Intensity-Emotionally Responsive/Reactive-Prone to strong positive and negative affects whereas nonsensitives in the same given situation will have emotions but maybe not as strongly.
  • Sensory Sensitivity-Usually arises from processing of stimuli-can manifest as low threshold, ability to distinguish subtleties, and sometimes low tolerance of high levels of sensory input. Often all 3 present.
