My guest on this episode is Matt Colehour. Matt has put his time into educating the community at large about what it means to vote YES for the expenditure for new schools. Matt and I talk about the Pros and Cons of the referendum. It’s a very interesting look at why we need to consider changes to our school buildings.

I've been away for awhile and there will be an episode providing some details. Until then, I will be releasing episodes I recorded back in November and December of 2021. This episodes was one of my favorites. I sat down with a very interesting Fella by the name of Mike Allen host of "Amazing Tales from Off and On Connecticut‘s Beaten Path" Podcast. I have posted a blog about his podcast as it tells it better than I can. Enjoy!
Noted story teller and former journalist Mike Allen narrates amazing tales about people, places and events from Connecticut history, featuring interviews from a wide range of guests. These episodes make history relatable, interesting, fun and informative. You don‘t have to be from Connecticut to enjoy these stories -- you just need to find history interesting and you should like to know the story behind the story. New episodes are posted every other Tuesday. Episode times will vary -- as this series subscribes to the adage: we take the time it takes to tell the story.

We are back, sorry for the long delay. Some much needed time off was taken and now we are back with a new episode. This episode finds Corey with guest Seth Harvey. Seth works as a technician at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. There he is part of the team who builds the Mars Rover and Mars Lander. We learn how life's twists and turns led him to the JPL. From there we dive into what is means to actually build a device that will land on another PLANET. It's a fun, and sometimes NERDY episode.

It's Nicole's show now as she takes over Host responsibilities this week and puts Corey in the hot seat. Having spent time to prepare, she makes Corey the subject of an interrogation by running through a series of questions. Some funny and some serious. We learn quite a bit about what makes Corey tick. Things like, How he likes his coffee. Where he would put a billboard and what would be on it. What his middle name is. What kind of wine he likes. How the Podcast started. A ton of Random facts. Then so much more! This is the episode to listen to if you ever found yourself curious about who Corey is or was. As always thanks for listening and enjoy the episode.

Corey is joined this week by two guest co-hosts, Nicole and Michelle and returning guest Charlie Bellmore. Charlie is currently the Primary Songwriter & Guitarist for the Legendary Dee Snider, as well as a multitude of other projects from his own Kings & Liars to bands like Jasta & Kingdom of Sorrow. We get into how good it feels to be coming out of covid and getting ready to hit the tour cycle. We learn about the positives that came out of the pandemic for Charlie, funny stories of teaching kids to play guitar and the joy Charlie has being a new father. This is a very entertaining listen, we expect you will find Charlie to be very entertaining and extremely likable, even if the music he creates is heavy and aggressive. Won't you join us?

Cryptocurrency, it’s been around for over a decade but some still think it’s a fad. What is it? I mean really, what is it? Is it currency? Is it a stock? How do you buy it? How do you spend it?? Is it a scam, is it legal tender? Someone please explain it to us. Our guest Dr. Christopher Ball, Assistant professor of economics at Quinnipiac University tries really hard to do just that. He uses every tool in his educational arsenal to bring us up to date on the Bitcoin bubble, the environmental cost of bitcoin mining, and cryptocurrencies' probability of transforming the global economic landscape. As for blockchain...well, uh...that’s going to have to be another show.

Board games hold a special place in our lives. Being part of a group of friends, family, or a great combination of both gathered around a table focused on global domination or more trivial pursuits, games bring about community, laughter, and if you’re anything like my family, occasionally tears. This week's guest, Jason Miceli, of Phase Shift games brings us along his life’s journey of game development. Jason gives us an inside glimpse into the world of tabletop gaming, from concept and design to production, including some interesting effects of a global pandemic on the gaming world. We discuss a popular new (to us) style of “drop gaming” featured in the addictive Phase Shift game ”Dungeon Drop”. Enjoy.

This weeks episode focuses on the immense task being taken up by Cheshire’s own School Modernization Committee. Our guests Jennifer Bates & Richard Gusenburg try their best to map out for us the scope of the need, the myriad of complications being worked through and a few initial options being worked on at the moment. The time has come to invest in our aging school facilities as our students and staff soar in prestige and academic achievement. It truly takes a village, but will enough citizens rally to make it a reality this time around, one thing is for sure, our schools need us to advocate for the improvements. Get involved, share ideas, contact the town council, listen to this podcast…..vote.

We talk with Pam Salamone Candidate for State Representative 103rd District (Cheshire, Southington, Wallingford). We cover some of today's hot topics that are affecting our area. Listen in and get to know a little about who she is and why she is running!

Pam was raised in Woodbridge, and graduated from Salve Regina University with a degree in criminal justice. After college, she worked in her family’s security company, moving through each part of the operation to understand the business thoroughly. Pam and her husband Mike Salamone have lived on Cornwall Avenue in Cheshire for twenty-four years, on a property well-known in the neighborhood as the Bison Farm. As a mother of four, Pam has dedicated herself to the success of her children, actively supporting their local schools and sports teams.

In 2011, Pam accepted the position of legislative aide to State Senator Joe Markley. Working closely with the Senator, she became expert at solving problems for local residents, researching critical issues, and understanding legislative procedure.

Pam believes in the principles of personal liberty, individual responsibility, economic freedom, and pro-growth policies that made our nation great and our state prosperous. She will fight for those principles at the Capitol, for the good of our town and to the benefit of every citizen of Connecticut.
