Brock is one of snowboarding's hidden gems, posted up behind the lens. Quiet, observant and constantly digesting the world through a camera, you can feel that raw authenticity in everything he creates.
From getting thrown into the mix with legends like Nate Bozung and Matty Ryan during the iconic BOZWRECK era, Brock helped document a true cult classic chapter of snowboard filmmaking. He captured and brought to life a side of snowboarding that was often overlooked by the mainstream. Names like Bradshaw, Bennee, Deadlung and Keegan are just a few of the legends he filmed during the prime of their careers.
Over the years, Brock has continued to build a style that feels timeless, he has the ability to make moments feel real, not staged or forced. The last Brown Cinema film - Knights Of The Brown Table says it all. From Absinthe Films, Adidas, Torment Magazine, The North Face, SIMS and beyond riders, brands and snowboarding as a hole are grateful to have him in the mix.

We sit down with one of the greatest snowboarders of all time, Jamie Lynn. It's hard to put into words what snowboarding would've become without the passion, creativity, style, and raw skateboard influence Jamie brought to the culture. From exploding onto the scene in the early '90s to staying relevant for over 35+ years, Jamie has had one of the most impactful careers in snowboard history. A true snowboarder's snowboarder.
This conversation was recorded during the 2026 Natural Selection Tour and after wrapping up the podcast, one of my close friends Brin Alexander happened to walk by the room. I figured we had to capitalize on the moment and get Brin on the mic too.
Brin is one of the most promising young snowboarders coming out of Canada right now and honestly one of the most talented riders on the planet. The definition of an all-terrain snowboarder; park, powder, street, side hits the guy can ride absolutely everything.
Jamie and I dive into topics like fatherhood, the early days of snowboarding, the evolution of snowboard culture, and how brands have failed the industry in the past. Australian legend Ryan Tiene joins me on the show. Ryan blew up on the scene after winning the famous park event; Style Wars in 2005. Soon after he moved to Whistler to chase his dream of being a pro snowboarder. Luckily for him, his childhood hero was Devun Walsh, so his style was noticed quickly by the likes of Kevin Sansalone. Ryan would go on to have a very successful career filming video parts. His approach to the backcountry was timeless; proper tricks with good style on the big stuff. He would eventually land himself on the DC pro team alongside his heroes. This episode is a great reminder of what you can achieve with hard work and a clear vision. This Swedish Egyptian has transferred from pro snowboarder to full-time “soul boarder”. Life after professional snowboarding is a difficult road for most, you seem to lose not only your identity but your beloved travel budget. It’s time to join the 5-9 world? For some yes, but not for Kareem. He found away to juggle work and play by starting a successful food truck business Laolita and soon to be restaurant. This allows him to take the winters off and enjoy boarding, with no outside pressures from brands. Kareem’s first sponsor was Forum Snowboards and that presented an opportunity of a lifetime to film for the iconic Forum movie - THAT (2006) where he shared a part with now close friend Stevie Bell. A few seasons later Kareem found himself in the middle of Forum’s big switch over, new ownership, new team managers and somehow got lost in the mix. Kareem had a string of annoying mishaps throughout his career but the guy never seemed worried. He has been involved in countless videos from Video Grass, Factor Films, Dope Industries, Blue Tomato, Helgason's and many many more. Mark Frank Montoya even handpicked Kareem to be apart of his outerwear company SOUND. The guy has always focused his time and energy on what feels right and what looks dope to him, in his own words “soul boarding” a term used by Kareem when someone is doing a trick that expresses their own unique vision of how that trick should be done with no expected outcome but filling ones soul. That vision of “soul boarding” lead him to start one of Europe’s biggest rail jams - The Frontline rail jam named after his clothing company in which he wanted to get the community together to have a more fun and style focused contest showcasing that simple tricks can place you at the top when right. His event/ clothing company have helped shine spotlights on the careers of e-man, halldor helgason, eiki helgason, felix remington, kevin griffin the list goes on, even myself. John Jackson has been at the top of the game for almost 2 decades. There’s only a few that have pushed snowboarding like john j in my opinion, Travis Rice and a handful of others. I watched every one of his parts and damn, what a strong, confident, good trick picking legend. From what I would say was his break out part in White Balance (2003) to many more years along side Standard Films (that heli shot Front 7 melon off the toes in Paradox), to his iconic parts with Forum Snowboarding, being included for Travis’s smash hit That’s It That’s All, and I should highlight his F’ it two song ender part plus having a full part in the iconic movie - Art of Flight (his back 10 double and massive line to crail air), having potentially one of the strongest seasons in snowboard history weighting in at around 10 minutes of A+ footage that year, transitioning over to Burton Snowboards then blowing his knees back to back seasons, filming his own web series/ tv series like brothers on the run with his bro Ejack, the book of John j, air time, etc., john has had one of the longest careers out and he’s still going strong and as he mentions on the show “I love it more than ever”, he’s happy to have found a home with Sims Snowboards and is currently filming with the Pirate Crew , keep posted for that 2 year project. He’s won it all, rider of the year, video part of the year, xgames medals, jumper of the year, covers; the photo from Scott Serfas/ TWsnow air in Alaska was a stand out to me. Scott was actually side slipping down the mountain and was lucky to have captured that frame/ cover. I can confidently say every single backcountry rider has drawn a lot of inspiration from John Js riding over the years.
Undoubtly one of the best to ever strap into a snowboard. Mark McMorris has achieved what most could only dream; winning 17 X-games metals, 2 olympics metals, first boarder to land a triple cork 1440 and well pretty much being able to do any trick he can image. Being born in the middle of nowhere AKA Saskatchewan may be an unlikely place to produce a snowboard prodigy but Mark doesn't really beleive in set backs. In fact he thrives under pressure. He has shown his ability to focus and come back from massive set backs both mentally and physically, again and again. Being the best in the world at any action sport comes at a high cost and Mark has paid the price, with an array of injuries the kid is walking proof of just how powerful the human mind is. Year after year he continues to push not only himself but the entirety of snowboarding. Maria Thomsen, originally from Denmark who now lives in Pemberton, BC. She started snowboarding rather late in compared to most. After achieving complete boredom at university she decided to come over seas with some friends and try snowboarding at the age of roughly 20. She fell in love with the mountains, whistler and snowboarding. Although she did end up going back home to finish her degree she soon returned to Whistler to continue snowboarding. Maria has accomplished a lot in her short time in the mountains. She went from not knowing how to carve to becoming a well respected professional boarder in a very short period of time. She's won the highly coveted "women’s video part of the year" award with TWsnow, not something many can say they've done. All this while being a full time mother and over coming injuries. This podcast is about following your dreams and doing your thing, life is short and if you were to ask Maria she would probably say “whatever you want to do, you can do.”
