How are you feeling about your work world right now? 2020 has been a year for the history books for a number of reasons, and has presented us all with a whole myriad of challenges. In amongst those is navigating new work-life waters. Did you make a career pivot this year? Is your employer instigating a hiring freeze? Have you experienced an ‘aha!’ moment? In today’s episode we are sharing our own career journeys and lifting the lid on our same-but-different career paths with blogging. Ella shares why she’s pivoted away from blogging and into a new career altogether, and Monica opens up about the multiple hats she wears outside of the blogging world.
In today’s episode we also play “what to do if . . .” with career scenarios, including what to do if you have been made redundant/graduated in 2020/want to pursue a side hustle.
We hope that today’s episode can help you to find clarity, or at least comradeship, in your own career journey. As always we would love to hear your thoughts so please do drop us a line, or send us a DM.

AUDIO NOTE
Due to COVID-19 we have recorded Season 10 of Let’s Discuss Podcast remotely. This has allowed us the opportunity to connect with you all (yay!) via your earbuds, but unfortunately some of the audio isn’t as on point as we’d like it to be. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you enjoy the show nonetheless.
Welcome back to a brand new season of Let’s Discuss podcast! We are so happy to be entering double digits here with you, kick starting Season 10.
Today’s episode is a ‘COVID-19 catch-up’. Things have changed dramatically in the world since Season 9 of the show, when we were on the cusp of our first lockdown here in the UK.
Since then, the term “corona-coaster” has been banded about with good reason. It has been a year of many ups and downs, and today we’re sharing what’s kept us going during this ‘unprecedented’ time.
We hope you’ll enjoy this week’s episode, and let us know how you get on playing Pandemic Bingo with us!

When someone brings up the topic of people pleasing, do you immediately think “yep, that describes me!”? To an extent we all ‘people please’ from time to time, be it saying “yes” to something which benefits someone else, and not us, or consistently agreeing to a commitment which really isn’t in our best interest.
People pleasing isn’t synonymous with doing something wrong, but when your needs are knocked to the bottom of the pile time and time again, your tendency to say “yes” all the time may need to be revisited.
In today’s episode of Let’s Discuss podcast we address the issue of people pleasing, how it crops up in our own lives, and how we try to safeguard ourselves from people pleasing tendencies which have a negative impact.

We are so excited to welcome Monica’s Mama Eliana to the show today, to talk all things cleaning and household upkeep.
Anyone who knows Eliana knows that amongst her many talents, she is somewhat of a superhero when it comes to keeping a house tidy, clean and organised.
For fourteen years Eliana owned and ran a guesthouse in Southampton, and (as Monica knows first-hand) it was somewhat of a military operation cleanliness-wise.
Over the years Eliana has come to be the go-to authority for her immediate circle (and her circle’s circle!) for all things housekeeping.
Mama Eliana is truly a fountain of household knowledge, and we are over the moon to welcome her to the show today to talk us through all things household upkeep, cleaning hacks and more.

Astrology has been a keen interest of Ella’s forever, and via Ella (and other eager friends) Monica has upgraded her interest in astrology from Girl Talk horoscopes (remember those?!), to a more in-depth analysis too.
We are so happy to welcome renowned astrologer Francesca Oddie to the show today!
Francesca chats to us about what your birth chart can reveal about your innate nature, why learning about your partner’s chart can be helpful when it comes to compatibility, and just what Mercury retrograde and Saturn’s return really mean.
If you’ve ever been curious about astrology, and how it can lend you a guiding hand, we hope that this episode will be an enlightening one for you.

Welcome back to Let’s Discuss Podcast! We're so happy to be back here with you for Season 9 of the show.
As of today (Ella’s 30th Birthday!), we’ve both officially joined the 30s club. Meaning that our old tagline “navigating life as 20-somethings” has had a facelift. (Along with our new logo - did you notice?!)
We’re now simply “navigating life”!
Entering a new age decade has made us both reflect on the life lessons we’ve learnt up until now.
So much so, that we thought it would be fun to put these lessons into a comprehensive list to share with you!
Cue: 30 Lessons We’ve Learnt by 30.
We hope that these lessons, mantras and mini life hacks will resonate with you too.
As always we’d love to hear your thoughts!

Welcome to a special bonus episode of Let’s Discuss!
Whilst we were preparing for the launch of Season 9 on April 7th this year, the shape-shifting times that we’re living in as we navigate COVID-19, prompted us to record this bonus episode for you.
Right now things are changing by the moment, and there is a huge array of emotions being felt. Amongst them: uncertainty, fear, hope, gratitude and a general sense of limbo.
Whilst we navigate these unchartered waters personally, we wanted to check in with you. To see how you’re doing.
And to talk through some of the things we’re doing to try and stay on top of our own wellbeing (mentally and physically) and productivity during this season.
We started Let’s Discuss Podcast as a way to open up the conversations we were having as friends, with you. And now, more so than ever, that sense of sharing and support is at the forefront of our minds.
We want you to feel as supported as possible right now, and like you can talk to us about how you’re getting on. Which you absolutely can! If you’d like to reach out we’re over on Instagram at @LetsDiscussPodcast, and individually you can find us on @MonicaBeatrice and @CocosTeaParty.
We hope that this bonus episode will offer some comfort to you right now.
We’re thinking of you and your loved ones. Sending huge love your way.

There are so many milestones throughout our twenties, which we are conditioned to think that we ‘need’ to hit. Degrees, moving out of home, partners, engagement, marriage, babies, promotions . . . it’s a LOT!
It’s normal to feel pangs of jealousy as your friends, or people you know (or even people you don’t know!) achieve certain things.
Whatever the circumstances, jealousy is not a nice feeling, and today we are exploring how we can navigate feelings of envy. And how can we reframe our jealousy in a more positive way?
On the flip side, what can you do when you feel like your friends are being resentful of your successes?
As always, feel free to leave us a comment on our Instagram account and share your experience with us! We’d love to hear from you.

We all want to feel more confident discussing finances and addressing our own individual financial needs. It can feel overwhelming to consider your pension, investments, mortgages . . . it’s a LOT. Fortunately for us we recently sat down with the incredible Emilie Bellet, founder of Vestpod and author of the brilliantly-titled “You’re Not Broke, You’re Pre-Rich” to discuss all of the above and more.
Emilie makes talking about money feel natural, and unpicks the terminology that can oftentimes feel totally alien to us.
Taking charge of your financial life is important, and we are thrilled to be able to share Emilie’s advice with you.

The topic of ‘ghosting’ comes up whenever we sit down to discuss dating.
In an app-centric dating world, it can feel like the distance between real human interaction and hiding behind a screen is huge, making it easier than ever to ghost.
As our resident single lady, Ella has experienced ghosting a number of times, and on every occasion it downright sucks. In this episode we chat about our own dating mishaps, including ghosting, and give our two cents on how to handle a dating disaster.
We also sit down with dating expert Clara Artschwager to get her take on ghosting, and to quiz her on how to meet people in real life.
Clara has so many brilliant tips on how to handle a setback, and how to build your confidence with dating.
We hope you’ll enjoy the show! Whether you’re dating or not, this episode contains some brilliant tips for interacting with people IRL.

From budgeting, to working from home, and creating a capsule wardrobe, we chat about paring things back to create more margin in your life.

We are over the moon to welcome best-selling author (and Monica’s dear friend) Libby Page onto the show today! Libby’s first novel The Lido, was described as the “feel-good debut” of 2018, and quickly became a Sunday Times Top Ten Bestseller.
The Lido has since been sold in more than 24 territories around the world, and a movie adaptation is also in development.
The Lido – which is titled Mornings with Rosemary in the US – tells the story of an unlikely friendship between 26-year-old journalist Kate, and 86-year-old Rosemary. Rosemary has been swimming at the Brixton Lido for most of her life. And when the Lido is threatened with closure, Kate and Rosemary forge a surprise alliance. In the pursuit to save the Lido, both women find themselves impassioned by the strength of the local community, and discover more about themselves than they ever expected. As author Sara Winman wrote The Lido is a “Joyous and uplifting debut - a testament to kindness and friendship”.
We both absolutely loved The Lido, and are so excited to chat to Libby about the process of writing her first novel – which comes out in paperback, this spring.
We hope you’ll love getting to know Libby, and be inspired by her story, as much as we are!

To mark our milestone 50th episode(!), we are taking an in-depth look at the future of blogging.
With 21 years of blogging experience between us, we have seen the industry’s landscape change dramatically. Many times over!
The blogging world, as it now stands, is SO different to when we first started.
As social media platforms, like Instagram, become increasingly more prominent, we’re exploring blogging's relevance in 2019, and what the future of the industry holds.
We also share advice for newbie bloggers, and bloggers looking to go full-time with their platforms.
We dip into the relationship between our egos and our analytics, and how we try to keep comparison at bay.
And finally we round things off by sharing our long-term blogging plans, how we feel about blogs and social media playing a part in our lives, and some of our all-time favourite blogs.
This is VERY in-depth conversation about the blogging industry, and we hope that you’ll love diving into it with us!

This week we are thrilled to welcome world-famous ethnobotanist James Wong to the show.
James is a plant scientist, broadcaster, science writer, author and self-proclaimed indoor jungle creator.
Since 2014 James has been the in-house ethnobotanist for one of our favourite skincare brands Liz Earle, and to say that we were excited to sit down with James at Liz Earle’s HQ would be a huge understatement.
During the course of our conversation we quizzed James on a whole array of subjects, from what ethnobotany entails, to the power of plants in our lives, all the way through to how to care for our houseplants.
James is one of the smartest people we have ever met, and this episode is a crash course in plant science, the use of plants in the beauty industry and how to keep your succulents looking fresh.
Plus SO much more.
We hope you’ll love virtually sitting down with James as much as we did! We felt a LOT more educated after an hour in James’ company!

We are so excited to welcome wellness guru Cat Meffan to the show! Cat is a yoga teacher, wellness retreat host, Youtuber, blogger and all round sunshine-emitting lady. We met Cat a year ago, via our dear friend Kristina Karlsson, and since our first dinner together we’ve been hooked on Cat’s work.
During our interview with Cat we discussed a whole myriad of wellbeing-related topics, including: comparison on the internet, finding your groove with exercise and how to approach the festive season with a healthy mindset.
With Christmas right around the corner we can’t think of a better time to hone in on our health and wellbeing priorities, alongside a healthy (no pun intended!) dose of celebrating too.

Welcome to Season 6 of Let’s Discuss podcast! How quickly have two years of podcasting gone?! Thank you so much for listening, supporting the show and for all of your amazing DMs/emails and comments; we are always so (so so!) happy to receive them!
This season we’ve invited a whole roster of incredible guests onto the show. We hope they’ll inspire you as much as they have inspired us, especially as we head into the festive season and think about 2019.
To kick off Season 6, we chatted with the incredible Laura Jane Williams. Laura is the author of two memoirs: Becoming: Sex, Second Chances and Figuring Out Who the Hell I Am and Ice Cream for Breakfast: How rediscovering your inner child can make you calmer, happier, and solve your bullshit adult problems.
We had the pleasure of meeting Laura via work this year and we were immediately hooked on her hilarious story-telling, warm nature and no-bullshit attitude.
Laura has lived (what feels like!) 100 lives already, and in this interview we discuss a whole manner of things including Laura’s journey to becoming an author, her stint living in Siberia (really!) and how to let go of self-imposed guilt.
We also talk about productivity, priorities and how to make your 'yes' mean something.
Laura has so much wisdom to share, and we can’t wait for you to get to know her better.

This was a super fun (and at times high emotion!) episode to record. We hope you’ll love listening as much as we loved recording it for you.

As best friends in real life, and now partners in work too, we often get asked about our dynamic.
What’s it like working with a friend? Is it a good idea? How has it affected our friendship?
We love working together, but we understand peoples’ concerns 100%. In this episode we’re opening up about how our partnership on the podcast came about, how we prepared for it and what we’ve learnt working together over the past two years.
If you’re thinking about going into business with a friend or family member, or are simply curious about the dynamic of working friendships, this episode is for you.

Making more eco-friendly lifestyle choices has been at the forefront of our minds this year. In this episode we’re delving into the habit changes we’ve been making, as well as the areas of our lifestyles we’d still like to work on.
From daily commitments, to clothes and ‘voting with your wallet’, this episode is full of recommendations and conversation around the things we can all be more conscious of when it comes to the environment.
Plus we share the mantra which we’ve adopted to make sure that we’re getting the full life cycle out of everything we own.
We hope that you’ll enjoy this episode, and if you have any recommendations for us about more eco-friendly choices we can make, tweet us on @LetsDiscussShow or individually on @CocosTeaParty and @MonicaBeatrice

Friendships are some of the greatest happiness boosters in our lives. Friends support us, share triumphs and challenges, and make navigating life a whole lot more fun.
That being said, it’s completely normal to go through spells of loneliness. It’s not a guarantee that you’ll meet your tribe in your teens or twenties. Some of our greatest friendships have been formed later on in our lives, outside of our education or ‘neighbourhood convenience’.
In this episode we take a close look at friendships in our 20s, how to go about making new friends, and how to transition an acquaintance into a true friend.
This episode is perfect for anyone looking to make new friends, and especially for people who have recently moved cities or jobs.

Welcome to a brand new season of Let’s Discuss Show! We are so delighted to be back here with you.
Thank you for all of your support for our debut podcasting year in 2017. The response we received was incredible, and we are so excited to continue to build, share and serve our Let’s Discuss community.
In our first episode of Season 4, we’re looking closely at Burnout. Burnout is a serious condition of extreme exhaustion, which many of us will suffer with at some point in our lives.
Having both experienced Burnout first hand, we’re keen to avoid it entirely for 2018.

We also sit down with occupational therapist and wellbeing expert Rosie Curtis to discuss how to get your best night’s sleep.
This episode is perfect if you’ve ever experienced burnout, exhaustion or feel like it’s on the horizon for you soon.
We hope that together we can navigate a more restful and energised year ahead.

We are kick starting Season 3 with none other than Holly Tucker MBE, co-founder of Not On The High Street, and the incredible Holly & Co.
Holly is one of the most pioneering businesswomen in the world today, and we are over the moon to have been able to sit down with her (at the table she dreamt up Not On The High Street on - no less!) to discuss her career journey, thoughtful gifting and why it’s important for us to reassess the vocabulary we use in life and in business.
This is a truly inspiring interview, and we hope that it will help you to get into the swing of the festive season, your career ambitions and those all important holiday gifts!
A quick audio note: as we were recording at the lovely Holly & Co you may hear some background noise. We hope you’ll enjoy the buzz of the cafe (and that it’s not too distracting!).

Ever wondered what it would be like to work at one of the world’s leading beauty companies? We sat down with Birchbox’s very own Penny Foster to discuss her role as senior social media executive in the UK.
Since our debut episode of Let's Discuss in which we kick started things talking about social media and comparison, we've been eager to dive right back into the subject which plays such a big part in our lives professionally and personally.
Penny shares what it's like managing multiple platforms for Birchbox UK, how Birchbox approach their customer, strategise their content and make sure they're having fun (that's both the customer and the team!) 24/7.
We also look at the etiquette of social media interactions, both as a business and on a personal level.
Should you follow/unfollow the guy you're dating?!
Penny also shares her advice for others looking to get a foot in the social media industry.
We hope you'll enjoy the show!
A huge thank you to Penny for sharing her pearls of social media wisdom with us, and to Push PR for once again opening up their beautiful offices for us to record in.

Chloé started her business, which delivers digital support to online publishers the world over, just four years ago. Now, with a team of twenty(!), plans for a swanky new office in central London(!!) and over three hundred clients internationally(!!!) Chloé delves into what her journey has looked like so far and shares how you too can learn to “feel the fear and do it anyway”.
There are SO many great takeaways from this episode, charge your coffee cup and have your notepad ready . . . !
Chloé opens up about what it’s like to develop a team, why it’s important to go into ‘sponge mode’ and why it’s vital to write every idea and lesson down. Amongst so much more!

Have you heard of the four tendencies framework? Author Gretchen Rubin has created a personality type framework, which helps you to understand how you react to inner and outer expectations.
Learning which personality type you are can be hugely beneficial, as it can help you to create strategies for fulfilling your personal goals. As well as helping you to complete tasks which other people require of you.
As differing tendencies, we discuss what it's like to be an 'upholder' and a 'questioner', and the tactics we use to maximise our tendencies and take on their challenges.
This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in habit-forming, and learning more about themselves so that they can complete their work more efficiently, as well as stick to personal habits they'd like to more easily.
We also discuss strategies for working with people, or being in a relationship with someone, of a different tendency. They all have their quirks and it's super interesting to figure out which one you are, as well as which tendency the people around you are!
Perfectionism also comes up as we dissect how different tendencies approach the 'perfect' outcome.
Be sure to click through on the quiz in our show notes to find out your own tendency!
We hope you'll enjoy the episode!

Well hello there and welcome to the very first episode of Let's Discuss! A brand new podcast by lifestyle bloggers and friends Ella Gregory and Monica Beatrice Welburn.
Let's Discuss is a forum for us to share the conversations we have on all things life, love, work and wellbeing.
We know what navigating your twenties can be like. You are trying to create the best life you can, with the resources you currently have, and ultimately want to be the happiest version of 'you' possible.
As lifestyle bloggers we write about what that journey looks like everyday. We felt it was about time to share that journey with more people, in a format you can download and listen to on your commute!
In our first episode we tackle one of the subjects which affects both of our lives, and yours probably too, the most: social media and comparison.
Have you ever LOST yourself in someone's Instagram feed? Double-tapped an image of peonies, only to look up and see your pile of dirty dishes and feel rather rubbish?
We know first hand what goes on behind a curated Instagram feed. We are opening up and sharing advice on using social media effectively without letting it take over your life. As well as giving tips on steering yourself away from the 'comparison trap'.
We'd love for you to listen to our debut episode and let us know your thoughts below! This is all new to us so any feedback - we are here to listen to.
Thank you so much for supporting our new endeavour!
