How you think matters. What is going on in your brain? When you're worrying about something, you're putting yourself in a state of fear and stress. When you're thinking that great things will happen, then you're putting yourself in an optimistic and happier state.
Abundance mindset is all about shifting the way you think about resources - how much food is available? Where will you live? How much money do you have in the bank? Instead of worrying about these things, when you can learn to trust that they will be there for you then you can let go of that stress.

Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect, but that's ok because maybe it will lead you to a really great place. Julia found that place in coaching parents of highly sensitive children. But she didn't start knowing that she would work with children. In fact she started college thinking she would become a vet.
One decision led to another and eventually Julia found herself in Boulder, Colorado where she would meet a young student that taught her about Highly Sensitive Children and also about herself. Now she knows her calling is to help parents understand their highly sensitive kids so that these kids can have the best chance at being their best selves.

Your path doesn't have to be straight. Liz Novy will let you know that her path was not that way at all, but her life always held a theme of creating wellness and leading a healthy life. In this podcast Liz will take you through her life from picking a degree in Interior Design to turning down her dream job in order to switch paths and become a nurse. While working as a nurse she saw even more gaps in the healthcare system that needed filling and since has become an Integrative Health Coach.
I was touched by her story and her struggles with 3 close family members getting cancer. But Liz has always taken life by the horns and made her own path no matter the obstacle. She never once complained about the life she led and I can tell has little or no regrets. She only wants to forge ahead and make the world a better place.

My special guest today was Maria of Bloom and Grow Radio, a podcast all about plant care. For the last three years, Maria was juggling a full time job on Broadway and also running her wildly successful podcast. When the pandemic took over she was left without work for the unforeseeable future. It hit hard and was definitely upsetting, but after she mourned her loss, Maria has dove head first into growing her podcast and supporting people on their plant care journeys.
This was a special treat for me because I've been a fan of her podcast for years now AND we found out that we actually went to the same university and know a handful of the same people. WILD.
Maria inspired me by her resourcefulness, ingenuity and bravery for diving head first into all the things she does. Check out all her offerings especially her Plant Parent Personality Quiz | https://bloomandgrowradio.com/personality. You won't be disappointed.

Have you ever thought about your relationship with yourself? How you treat yourself? How you take care of yourself? And also how you speak to yourself?
All these things contribute to your inner peace or inner turmoil. As you continue your journey to finding your purpose, think about how you can become your own best friend. This journey might be lonely, people might not understand you or why you're doing something. So if you have a good relationship with yourself then you can support yourself when no one else is supporting you.
I spent a long time being critical of myself before I learned that I needed to stop. It's been a long journey but I've become more compassionate, more understanding and more supportive of me and my journey. And also allowing myself to go at the pace I'm meant to go.
Think about how you can be better to yourself and how you can become your own best friend. You won't regret it.

In this episode I talk about defying the practical and going against what everyone is telling you. Most people will say go with what you know, go with what's safe, and just keep pushing through the pain. I say - forget that culture. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
If you're afraid of letting go of that comfortable but drab job, then listen to my tips on how to overcome the guilt of leaving something that's practical.
My intuitive tip this episode is - just pick the first thing that pops in your head! Most often our intuition speaks first but then the logical mind takes over and speaks louder. So slow down, listen to the first thought and pick that even if it doesn't make sense.

We have hit December 2020! Thank God! I've been thinking a lot about this year, and have also been setting up my 2021.
In this episode I talk about my biggest take aways from podcasting this year. All that I've gained and grown (learning that I enjoy podcasting, getting excited to create for you, and
growing as a public speaker) . I also talk about what's coming for 2021!
Some quick notes:
1. I've created a separate podcast for my meditations: Meditate with Miinkay
2. Next year is packed full with more stories, ideas, and tips for creating a career you'll love.
Get Journey, the #1 Motivational Journal App. I use and love this app for my reflections, journaling and thoughts. I can get to it from my phone and my computer so when I want to write longform text I have the option. When I just want to put down some thoughts I have that at my finger tips on my phone.
I would highly, recommend journaling your reflections for this year as doing so will help you process and close out the year on a good note. And help you process your emotions so that you can have clarity for a great 2021.
THANK YOU for listening. All the downloads encourage me to create more and do more for you. If you like the show, please write a review to encourage me even more.

Peter is an international speaker, executive coach, and genuine human being. He graciously offered to come on my podcast to talk about his life and he even coached me just because he wanted to help. And even better he offered a FREE coaching session to someone who heard him here on the podcast. Keep reading for more details on how to get that session.
Throughout our conversation I could tell that Peter empowers people by giving them ideas and new concepts to help them break out of limiting beliefs and move into what they want. Here are his thoughts on finding your calling:
When you want to reach a goal, instead step back and recreate your goal into an aim. An aim is a place you're working towards but its broad. Allow your aim to be broad so that you can be flexible and allow for new ideas and opportunities to get there. A goal can be restricting if you're only working toward that one thing.
So as you work toward your aim, follow your curiosity and try things (do small experiments). You will need to conduct these experiments in order to reach your aim. Maybe your experiments will fail, but don't worry these are just helping you learn and get closer to your aim.
When experimenting - optimize for serendipity because with serendipity you'll could get opportunities you never imagined.
Optimize by
1. Getting Curious,
2. Creating Genuine Connection with People,
3. Allow yourself to Wander,
4. Luck!
If you're searching for a calling, then your aim is to find your essence. When conducting experiments, three questions to ask yourself are
1. Will this create a life you'll love?
2. Will this be of service?
3. Who will you become if you do this?
If you like the answer to all three things, then go for it!
Peter is giving out a FREE 2-hour coaching session. You don't want to miss this opportunity! Send him an email telling him who you are and how you would benefit from a coaching session. He will pick the lucky winner and give them their session.

I’m a goal maker, but my problem is that I always make the big goals. And then I get overwhelmed and depressed when it takes me years and years to get there.
Solution? Make small goals too! And take time to celebrate the small goals. As I’m building my business and establishing myself I need to remember to celebrate those small things – getting a new client, updating my email services, making that new marketing plan. All these daily tasks can be small wins and pats on the back for me. I used to be so hard on myself that I wouldn’t allow myself time to have fun or enjoy a day off because I hadn’t reached that big goal. But when that big goal takes years to do, then I really am not treating myself well.
Remember to take care of your health and give yourself those moments in between to have fun and enjoy the process.

The way I work with clients is like a sandwich. There’s mindset, intuition, mindset. We need the mindset at the beginning to clear out the noise. Then we need the intuition to connect, to listen, to trust. But then we need the mindset again. -Naama Zusman
I had such a lovely time talking with Intuitive Life Coach Naama Zusman about her path overcoming an eating disorder to becoming a yoga teacher and coach. She has a strong connection with her inner guidance now and helps others find and create that connection too.
What I learned through Naama was that mindset is just as important as developing a strong connection to your intuition. Even after you figure out what your intuition needs, then you still need to act on it. You still need to have the courage and confidence to follow it and trust it. That’s where mindset comes in. When we can balance our ability to listen to ourselves and then to take action then we’ll be better in our decision making and happier on our path to purpose and meaningful work.

How does what you love turn into money? Not everything you love to do will come back to you as a meaningful career. The biggest difference between doing things you love and a career you love is that what you love to do is what people need. You are filling a void in the world that needs your work, your expertise, and your specialty.
A really clear and concise way I like to explain it to people is through Ikigai. Ikigai is a Japanese term that means “reason for being”. In other words – Ikigai is your calling. Your calling lies in the center of What You Love, What You’re Good At, What You Can Be Paid For, and What the World Needs.
Now easier said than done. How do you know what you love can turn into your calling? Well the short answer is – you won’t know until you try. BUT you can short cut trial and error by listening to your inner guidance. You see, your inner guidance or intuition is always guiding you to things you’ll love. And when you start to gain confidence in your abilities, then it will guide you to what you can be paid for and what the world needs.
Check out this amazingly well done article on Ikigai for more great info.

Failure doesn't have to be a bad thing if you decide that it's not a bad thing. If you see failure as a bad thing that needs to be avoided at ALL costs, then I want to invite you to change that belief.
When you can see failure as part of life and something to be accepted and used to grow. Then your life will be way easier. I learned that the hard way. Long story short I thought I wanted to become a doctor. So I spent 8 months of my adult life trying to follow that path. I quit my job, dedicated myself 8 hrs a day to studying for the MCAT, and preparing my applications. And I really honestly thought I had a great chance to get in. But I didn't. And after receiving rejection letter after rejection letter, I was so depressed and embarassed that I couldn't face myself. And I spent the next 3 years of my life in denial that I even wanted to be a doctor.
I was in denial that I wanted more for myself. I was in denial that I could be something other than a consultant. And I just let myself medicate this pain with alcohol and partying. Eventually I started to heal, and I started to forgive myself. I talked about what happened and came to terms that being a doctor was not the right path for me. But it took me 3 long years.
I don't want that to happen to you. All it would have taken was for someone to tell me - don't think of your failure as a bad thing. Because it wasn't a bad thing. Sure at the time it felt terrible. But I didn't even let anyone in to my life to help me feel better. And if I had done that, then I would have recovered sooner and gotten back to figuring out my career.
In reality, not getting into med school was a good thing, because even if I had gotten in then I would have figured out in school that I didn't really want to be a doctor. I did want to be a healer. But the way doctors help people heal was not the way I wanted to help people heal. Eventually I did find my calling - to be a bodyworker, but first I had to accept my failure, learn from it and move on.
So whenever you are faced with failure:
Failure is a part of life and it's hard. But it doesn't have to hold you back. Don't let it hold you back.

Your intuition lives in your heart. And so does your creativity! If you get back in touch with your creative thoughts, ideas, and creations then you'll get back in touch with your intuition.
Your intuition shows up when you're creating things. It shows up as calm thoughts urging you on with your art or your creation. It tells you when you're done. It tells you that you need more color or less color or more salt or pepper. It shows up when you're using your feeling sense and you use your feeling sense when you create.
Remember what it was like to make something out of nothing? How it felt to dance or sing or flow? Well get back to that feeling. Because when you do, your intuition will be there too.
If you've put down your creativity. Now's the time to pick it back up. Do something just for fun, and just for you.
Whatever you create, send me a picture! Would love to see what you make.

How do you tell the difference between your logical voice and your intuitive voice? Miinkay gives you the details and clues to hear your inner voice more clearly. Also hear how she discovered her intuition and why she became a coach.
Thank you for listening to my first episode on intuition. I got a lot of good questions and the main question was, "How do you know the difference between your logical voice and your intuitive voice?"
Your Intuitive voice
Your logical voice
You might not notice the difference because they both come from inside you. But when you start to listen closely, you'll notice that you might argue with yourself. When you're auguring with yourself, its your logical voice talking with your intuitive voice. Notice where each one is coming from. What they feel like and how they are different. Then try to go with your intuitive voice and see what happens.
If you've ever regretted not listening to yourself its because you ignored your inner voice. That was it!
If you've ever had that sense of, I know this is true but I don't know how I know. That was it!
If you've ever met someone and immediately knew they were bad news. That was it!
Listen to that voice even if it doesn't make sense because it won't steer your wrong.

I met Christine through an entrepreneur’s Facebook group – the Don’t Keep Your Day Job group. We both listen to this podcast and have gotten a lot of inspiration from it. She was able to use her inspiration to help her gain the resolve to go to manicuring school and follow her dreams of being her own boss.
Christine has been into nails, been a DIYer and now in the tail end of manicuring school. She loves how beautiful they can make you feel and wanted to spread that joy to the world. But right before she was supposed to attend her first class something devastating happened.
She discovered that she was allergic to her nail products. What I got out of this interview was that if you really wanted something, you will make it work. Christine got rid of all the obstacles she was facing, lack of time, working too much, being debt, and also being allergic to the product for your craft. So that she could follow her dream. She was able to find products that are hypoallergenic and subsequently her niche.
Now she provides these services to everyone and is an advocate for better, safer products for the people of the world.

In this episode, I get to coach Wilson Smith on what steps he should take for his career. Wilson has had an amazing career working in film, from getting the first film he worked on into SXSW (South by South West) and then winning 2 awards there. And THEN getting accepted to the Canne Film Festival in France. He has worked with great directors and actors and now amid COVID is at a turning point for his career.
Even though his career has given him amazing opportunities, the freelance lifestyle has been hard and unstable. Since film production has come to a complete halt due to the pandemic, Wilson has taken some time to think through and explore some options. BUT it’s been hard to figure out which path to take.
Many people are encouraging him to stick with film because that is clearly his passion. But his gut is telling him to go for something more stable because making rent next month is important. He has been looking into production insurance, because it would be related to film, but also a stable job that is always in need.
In our coaching session, I take Wilson through a visualization exercise that helps him realize how good it would feel to have an office, a stable job, and possibly work that would be interesting. I also remind him that a stable job is not a dead end for your passion. If he ever found a film he wanted to work on, then he could still do that. Only now he can pick and choose the ones he wants to make instead of having to take whatever came his way for the sake of money. This possibility seemed like the best of both worlds.
You can have your cake and eat it too.

I had the privilege and joy to interview my friend and fellow coach Mayuko Okai. She teaches people how to get better in touch with themselves to heal their relationship with food and their bodies.
I wanted to interview Mayuko, not just because she has a strong connection and understanding of intuition, but because she also used her intuition and dharma (knowing her truth) to leave her career and start a new one that was more aligned with who she wanted to be.

Meditation and Mindfulness are the perfect practices to help you hear your intuition better. They teach you to slow down and get quiet enough so that it can pop through and you can hear it.
In the world today, we have 5-10 things competing for our attention at one time. We are taught to multitask and expected to get degrees and have families and be perfect people. All the stress and expectation going on around us, distracts us from the internal voices. The ones telling you to eat because you forgot breakfast. The ones telling you to call your mom because you need to check on her. And the ones tell you that you need to do more because you need to be the best. These voices are distracting us from our intuition.
Meditation is about being totally present with what you’re doing. Your mind isn’t thinking about the weekend while you’re answering emails. Your mind isn’t listening to the news while you’re washing dishes. During meditation, you are thinking and feeling totally where you are and what you’re doing. For example, if you are folding laundry and you’re thinking about how to fold each piece as you fold it. You notice how warm or cold the clothes are. You hear the sounds going on around and you are totally with the activity and not thinking about something else or listening to something then you are present. When you are present with yourself, is when you can hear yourself more clearly.
Each Monday I’ll put out an episode on career. Every other Thursday I’ll put out a meditation for you to use and practice with. I will make them short, easy, and doable. Try it, do your best and then practice as you can.

When I was trying to figure what my calling was and how to get there I had an idea – what if I turned inward for the answers? I didn’t have a mentor, nor did I know where to find someone who was an expert in finding your passion. BUT I always knew that I wanted to be of service to people. So I thought – that came from somewhere right?
Yes, it came from my intuition. By definition intuition is the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning. In other words, it’s a feeling sense. Here’s what I learned:
Why is it hard to hear? Because we are thinking with our practical mind and also hearing what the outside world is trying to tell us. There are a lot of thoughts and voices moving around our heads so we need to learn to hear the intuitive voice just as clearly because it’s when we ignore that voice that things may not go the way we want.
How can it help you find your calling? Your calling is something that will bring you joy and meaning. Your intuition is deeply connected to that. So hearing your intuition clearly will lead you to that. The same way your practical brain might say, “set your alarm tomorrow so you wake up on time!” Your intuition will say, “try that new hobby, it looks like a lot of fun!”
How is what’s fun going to help me find my calling? Well fun gives you that joy feeling. When you are doing things that bring you joy, you get clarity on how a career that brings you joy would feel. And then you can use that discernment to start making choices for your career.
You are your own guide. Sometimes it’s just hard to heard it. But that’s normal, and I’m here to help you.
