"Yes, you can do hard things!"

3 takeaways:

Your audience will take away 1) 3 simple ways they can start being more intentional/mindful with their food, 2)how to build a simple balanced plate without counting calories, 3)inspiration to start TODAY and not wait for the perfect time

From the time I can remember, I struggled with food. Food was the center of our family gatherings growing up. Over time, food became a comfort and also what I turned to when I was bored. The problem was the food I turned to was empty in calories and void of nutritional value.
Sometimes you have an “ah-ha” moment.
Mine happened on my 30th birthday while visiting my brother. I clearly remember standing on his deck, thinking that I did not want to eat like this any longer! Something had to change! I was so unhappy with myself. I was unhappy with the way I felt. I was unhappy with the example I was setting for my daughter.
SO I DID... I CHANGED EVERYTHING.

"El pasado no te define" Yisneida Bullé

3 conceptos básicos:

  1. Ser amable contigo
  2. Buscar ayuda

"Stop surviving and start thriving"

3 takeaways:

  1. Why motherhood has gained a bad reputation and how it has skewed our expectations.
  2. A new paradigm of motherhood: You can be the best mother you can be AND the best you simultaneously.
  3. What you NEED to stop surviving and start thriving in motherhood.

Samantha St-Louis is a nurse clinician, childbirth educator, breastfeeding consultant, sleep educator, and parenting consultant.
As a mother of five children aged five and under herself, Samantha is intimately aware of the challenges mothers face daily and uses her own teachings to navigate her life as a large family mom and an international business owner.
Her prior research in epigenetics focused on the relationship between nurture & nature on long-term health outcomes. She found that the most important predictive factors were a mother and her child's early health. Yet the support wasn't there. Mothers were sent home with huge responsibilities and little to no guidance. She made it her life's mission to remedy this.
In 2018 she founded BeBaby, a company that offers 'The Peace of Mind Parenting program', the only all-encompassing parent incubator support program bringing together all of the resources parents could ever need to achieve Peace of Mind Parenting. From getting children and their mothers better sleep, making daily life easier, and taking charge of the family's health.
BeBaby has helped thousands of families worldwide and continues to offer more services, programs, volunteer educational services, and more.

She empowers parents to crack the code of their strong-willed child's personality, meet their deepest core needs to improve their behavior, and find new levels of patience. Wholeheartedly CALM is her 11-week virtual group coaching program where defeated parents find validation and proven techniques to parent their 1-7-year-old kids with composure, connection, and confidence. It's specifically designed to transform their relationship with their toughest child.

"Let us model turning Oopsies into Opportunities to learn, teach, and grow with our children"

3 takeaways:

  1. I discovered the power of cooking with kids when I had my preschool. Any skill or behavior I wanted to help the children work on I brought into the kitchen- all skills - hard and soft (sharing, manners, math, vocabulary,-- all of it)! It's just the most magical, motivating place for communication, cooperation, and connection. And now, anytime I get a new foster kiddo- I invite them into the kitchen as soon as possible- and as often as possible! It enhances our trust- the number one thing needed for relationships.

  2. Creating in the kitchen enhances their ability to discover that mistakes happen and aren't a big deal, gives me an opportunity to offer to help them, and gives me opportunities to model making mistakes myself and just take action to address them and move on. No sneaking or hiding is necessary. Complete safety. -Mistakes don't define us or defeat us. As long as the trust is in place, we can view all mistakes as oopsies and turn them into opportunities.

  3. We can stay connected even through direction and correction. Cooking with kids gives us an opportunity to communicate all 5 Love languages to them: quality time, acts of service, words of affirmation, receiving gifts, and physical touch. What do kids need most (after biological needs are met of course):
    Trust, significance, and belonging.
-Trust: You can trust me that my love for you is not conditional. You can trust that I know I am not perfect and when I mess up I will work to repair it with you. You can trust yourself to ask for what you need. I will try to say "Yes" as often as I can!
-Significance: What you do matters to this family. Your voice matters! -Skills build competence and confidence - which enhances a child's sense of significance. This is also why children need to be able to contribute to the family!
-Belonging: You matter to this family -no matter what. We cannot be a team without you.

She has had her own preschool and served in Early Childhood Intervention doing Speech Therapy. She is currently a foster and bio mom.
