Roxanne and special guests share parenting mishaps and milestones. With crazy schedules for parents and kids and the added distraction of tech everywhere you turn, they are less dishing out parental guidance and more seeking answers on how to parent in today's world.
I loved catching up with award-winning journalist, Deborah Norville. I read one of her books years ago, and she inspired me to be in the business. Her children are grown now, but she had some great advice balancing your career and your work life.
Meredith and Roxanne catch up on what the first month back-to-school has been like? Does it feel like you are treading water? Does it feel like you'll never catch up on what you have to do to prepare your kids for school each day and yourself for what you have to do? You are NOT alone. Have some laughs about parenting with Meredith and Roxanne.
Think back to when you were a kid...how did you feel about going back to school? I was always terrified. And I liked learning, and I loved my friends, but back-to-school gave me anxiety. Now, that anxiousness has carried over into adulthood, but I try to hide it from my kids, so I don't pass it on to them. Fester stopped by (my buddy, Fester, from the MJ Morning Show) and we chatted all about how we adjust to back-to-school as parents and co-workers.
Meredith and Roxanne talk about how busy they feel during this time of year and how annoying it can be to other people when you are wearing your "busy badge." It feels like busyness is your excuse. "Sorry. Can't get together. Too busy." It's like you hide behind your busy badge. The conversation quickly went from talking about being busy to binge drinking. And Meredith and Roxanne made some embarrassing confessions.
We hear quite often about adults and their bad airport behavior by adults. This time we have a story to share about a kid gone wild on the luggage conveyor belt.
Roxanne catches up with Froggy from the MJ Morning Show. (Mer will be back on the next edition.) Froggy and his wife Kim are raising boys. Rox and Mer only have little girls. What's it like with just little boys to take care of? Are the inmates running the asylum? Oh, no. Froggy and Kim run a tight ship.
Meredith has a big decision to make about whether or not she should go to a wedding abroad. It is in ITALY. So how can she pass that up?
Roxanne's daughter has a weird tick where she wants her mom to keep repeating the story of Roxanne's night out with Meredith. She asks her to tell it to her at bedtime. "And then what happened, Mom? And then what did you order for dinner? And then what to drink?" Kids get hyper focused on strange things.
This is a very personal topic we got into this week, but it hits on some of the things that are most important to us on PG Parental Guidance Needed: friendships and conversations with kids.
A couple of weeks ago, I lost a best friend to cancer. She was such an incredible person and friend, and I am so blessed to have a once-in-a-lifetime person in my life like her. Jana was a huge part of my children's lives. It was hard to tell them what happened, but we tried to prepare them. They knew she was very sick.
I'm trying to let Jana's memory live on by teaching my kids that we can honor her by being like her.
Here I've edited together some of my conversations with my daughter about Jana. I don't always know if I'm saying the right things to help her process her grief and feel better, but conversation is always good, right?
Not to spoil the podcast, but in case you don't have time to listen to the entire thing, I'll sum up the 3 rules:
See your friend as the highest version of themselves and support them in following their dreams.
Love and cherish what they love.
Know how best to handle them (when they need to be handled with care or have the sense shaken into them or the crazy shaken out of them). And I love this photo of us because my face looks like I was having some sort of meltdown, and Jana is talking me down from a cliff.
The first anecdote I share is about supporting your friend's dreams. Some of it was lost on my six-year-old daughter so I rushed through it a little bit. But I'll give you a few more details. I worked at a small cable news sports station. We mostly covered high school sports, but we were growing and trying to branch out with some professional sports segments. Ever year the Turn 2 Foundation held a big golf tournament in Tampa, and I wanted to cover it for our station. I emailed Sharlee Jeter and requested access so we could put together a feature on the good things she, Derek and her family were doing to help kids. She set up for us to have press passes for the weekend event. On Friday, my boss told me, "Sorry, but we don't have any photographers available for the weekend." I called Jana and defeatedly told her the interviews wouldn't be happening, and I'd have to reach out to Sharlee and tell her there was a change of plans. She thought about it, then called me back, and said, "Roxanne, I have an idea." Her idea was to have my stepdad (who is a photographer) go with me and pose as my videographer. And back in 2006, there was a big difference between a photographer and a videographer. It was the days in our business when we had to have a videographer to operate and carry the big, clunky camera. My stepdad was willing to do it. Amazing! I checked out the equipment and gave him a quick tutorial based on my limited knowledge. When we got to the event at Rattle Fish Grill in Tampa, I was excited to see that we had an amazing set up inside the restaurant (all the other local stations were outside). And we were inside next to ESPN and the YES Network.
As I mentioned, I'd given my stepdad a very brief lesson on camera operation, but I'd failed to show him how to set up the tripod. So he's fumbling with it, and we are looking like total imposters and catching side eye from the real reporters and photographers from the big-time networks. I grabbed the tripod and ran to a corner to try to figure it out myself. When I think back to this moment, as embarrassing as it was at the time, I'm filled with tears of laughter. And I'm also thankful Jimmy (my stepdad) was so willing to be my hero. And thanks to Jana, I'm reminded there's always an idea out there to think of to solve a problem and make something big happen. That was a significant assignment. We put together a good interview segment with Derek and his family. The footage was airable, even though the guy shooting the video had never touched a professional TV camera until that night. And that night my (now) husband saw me in person for the first time. I'm sure he couldn't help but be attracted to the mess of a reporter fumbling and bumbling in the corner with her equipment. (How could anyone resist that?)
Every time Jana and I talked, if she was brainstorming with me or helping me solve a problem, I knew it was going to be good. She'd say, "Roxanne, an idea just popped into my head..." And it was like, hold on tight. Here we go!
We've been devastated to lose Jana, but she made our lives magical while she was here, and I'm very much in recognition of the fact that the friendship I experienced is once-in-a-lifetime, but I want to try to be that kind of friend to my loved ones by following the 3 rules.
Meredith prepares for her girls' trip to Miami. Pack the bikinis and leave the mom guilt behind.
Are you asking yourself, "What am I gonna do all summer to keep my kids entertained?" Don't stress. Less is more. Sometimes it feels like we need to have them occupied every second of the day, but just let them be spontaneous and don't put undue pressure on yourself. Keep summer simple!
You can never go wrong giving Mama jewelry for Mother's Day. Its beautiful, meaningful and sentimental. Totally reflects her. Loved chatting with Julie Weintraub to get some wonderful ideas and to find out about the specials at Gold and Diamond Source.
Have you ever been ghosted by another mom who you've done playdates with? It happened to Meredith. Oh, well. Not all moms are soul mate playdates. We'll muddle thought the rejection together.
Meredith was being grilled by her daughter on where babies come from. She did some quick improv to hold her off, but she'll be asking more questions soon enough. Hope everyone had a Happy Easter!
There's nothing more terrifying than shopping with your child or being at a theme park and losing sight of them. Sounds completely irresponsible, but it can happen in a blink. It happened recently to Roxanne. A terrifying two minutes but thank goodness, a happy ending and lesson learned.
Warning! Warning! This podcast turned a little racy! Meredith and Roxanne were talking about something completely and related to children, and then…the topic turned to their sex lives. You’ve been warned!
No, no!!! These two things have nothing to do with one another. No one broke a bone because of too much tequila. One of Roxanne's daughters might have broken a bone (or maybe not). And Meredith and Roxanne (on a separate occasion) may have done tequila shots.
Roxanne Wilder chatted with a mother-daughter team like no other. Julie Weintraub and her daughter Emily were on their way to a luncheon and had a chance to share some tips for Valentine's Day...what to buy that special someone to show how much love them. Julie also gave us her philosophy on kids and social media.
They also shared the details about our special promotion for an amazing Valentine's Day giveaway on Q105!
Meredith is wondering why in the world Aubrey is hanging out with the class clowns and acting a little class clownish herself. Hmmm? Maybe the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Meredith and Roxanne have a great time reminiscing about all of their favorite Gasparilla memories and how they are quite indicative of their life progressions...how they experienced Gasparilla pre and post babies. And Meredith has a rare weekend alone with Anthony so Roxanne gives her advice on how she should spend her time.
Welcome to a new season of PG Parental Guidance Needed! We're kicking it off with our chat with the stars of A&E's Zombie House Flipping, Dolmar Cross and Samantha Middleton.
There's so much to get done in December. So many lists to check twice. Meredith and Roxanne talk all about everything holiday related from work parties to Christmas shopping pet peeves.
Will the third time be the charm for Meredith as she tries to schedule Olivia's baptism once again? And Roxanne wonders if her five-year-old is getting to the age where she should have a say as to what her mom posts online about her (i.e., pictures, videos).
Happy Thanksgiving! Wishing you and your families a dysfunctionality-free holiday. ;) (And if you accomplish that, please let us know how.)
Here's one from the archives. We'll catch up with you next week!
Meredith has a problem. She wants more quality one-on-one time with Anthony, but he is not too keen on having people who aren't family members watch their children. At what age is it appropriate to let your kids have sleepovers?
Meredith and Roxanne talk about RSV and how it seems to be circulating in the Tampa Bay area. Roxanne's daughter's obsession with "Rose" from the Titanic doesn't seem to be slowing down, even after Halloween when she had a chance to dress as her.
Roxanne wanted to take her kids to Meredith's daughter's birthday, but she took a quick, unexpected trip with her family to Disney World...and (bad mom) didn't actually take them to the parks. Actually, there are plenty of things to do at Disney aside from the big theme parks.
We always like to check in with pediatrician, Dr. Mike Jordan. On this episode he lets us know what to freak out about and what to not worry about when it comes to kids sniffles and bugs.
Meredith gets a chance to tell us all about her family's Disney Cruise. But first...our hearts go out to those who've experienced loss and devastation because of Hurricane Ian. The hurricane was making a track to hit Tampa Bay, and it seems it was nothing more than an inconvenience with school out and businesses closed. Our hearts are with our neighbors in the southern part of the state.
Meredith has a problem. She wants more quality one-on-one time with Anthony, but he is not too keen on having people who aren't family members watch their children. At what age is it appropriate to let your kids have sleepovers?
When did your kids give up their pacifiers? Meredith's daughter is hanging on to hers and Meredith is worried about her getting pacify-er teeth (like Roxanne's daughter did). But good news...They self-corrected!
It's not only a new experience for the kiddos, but it's nerve wracking for parents sending their kids off to kindergarten for the first time. Meredith and Roxanne share what they are anxious about.
What is the expression? The days are long, but the years are fast? When you send your baby off for the first day of kindergarten, it makes you realize how quickly time passes. From the time they are babies until it's time for elementary school can feel like the blink of an eye. Roxanne chats with her morning crew about feeling emotional over the milestones.
Has your child ever had a night terror or a really scary dream? Roxanne's two-year-old woke up completely disoriented, and it was a struggle getting her to realize it was just a bad dream.
How do you teach your children about processing grief when the family loses a loved one? Should they attend the funeral? Meredith is going through it right now, and Roxanne lost loved ones earlier in the year. And Meredith poses a real head scratcher (that she'd previously posed to her morning show crew). Would you rather cheat on your spouse or rat out your best friend for cheating on their spouse. No fun either way!
If you ask your friends this question, the answers may run the gamut. Meredith and Roxanne talk about what age they were when their parents had the big bird and bees convo with them. And in a separate conversation, Meredith asks Roxanne if she ever sends Doug any "sexy" pics.
Meredith and Roxanne catch up on all the back-to-school stuff they are behind on. They've both got little ones getting ready to start kindergarten. And they reminisce about how stressful it was trying to make and keep friends in middle school.
We call this the PG podcast, but this one might have to get a PG-13 rating. Meredith and Roxanne chat about how they are getting their grooves back after pregnancy. It's all about finding the time of day that you are in the mood and having a good line of communication with your hubby.
Meredith and Roxanne talk about ways to keep the kids active during the summer. They discuss options for camps. And they also talk about how they are both a little alarmed by how much their five-year-olds enjoy taking selfies.
Is it a challenge trying to get your kiddos excited about reading over the summer? Mer and Rox are facing the same ordeal and trying to come up with ways to make it fun and not a chore.
Do you have kiddos that make special requests when in come to mealtime? Turn their nose up at the food that's put in front of them? Meredith is going through the picky eating phase and is looking for solutions to sneak in some good healthy foods and a little variety.
From spring cleaning to getting out and doing more fun stuff...Meredith and Roxanne chat about how to stay organized (or get organized) and new patterns when it comes to sick kids or sick mamas.
Meredith and Roxanne catch up on Roxanne's trip to the Bahamas, Meredith's friendship with Joey Fatone, and they shared a little more insight on how to decipher family and loved ones' love languages.
Roxanne shares crazy stories about her children with the guys on the MJ Morning Show and gets playfully berated.
After a brief hiatus, the PG Parental Guidance Needed podcast is back! Meredith is stressed because her daughter "pantsed" someone at school. And we know potty words are par for the course with 4-year-olds, but Roxanne is a little over hearing the p-o-o-p word around her house.
When your children start begging for pets, you want to oblige, but all pets (in this case Meredith's goldfish) require a lot of upkeep. And how do we talk to kids about it when they lose a pet?
Is Roxanne having a mid-life crisis? Or a "my child just turned 2 and i'm finally feeling like myself again" crisis? Or depression with the acceptance that there will be no more new little babies? Or a combination of all of the above?
Yep...just about everyone in Meredith's household came down with Covid. Thankfully, everyone is doing fine, but how do you juggle all the quarantining and keeping your kids entertained at home when they can't go back to school for weeks? And Roxanne shares her opinion on why people have lost (or giving up certain friendships) in reaction to what's happened over the last year.
Meredith's daughter has an incident at school that is a bit...challenging. The good news is that Meredith and her mother-in-law came together in coming up with the plan to deal with it, strengthening their relationship.
There's an expression...Love and grief change us permanently. Meredith and Roxanne talk about how hard it is to lose someone and how to deal with it in your family. Roxanne took an unusual approach to introducing her daughter to her own father (who passed before her daughter was born).
Yes, she moves...she's got great moves but we are talking about her recent move-in with her in-laws!!! How is she surviving???
Baking, shopping, cards, oh my! So much to still to be done before Christmas. Meredith and Roxanne try to sane during the holiday hustle and bustle!
Roxanne's daughter has a um...unique style? She likes dress herself now and wears two dresses at once. Is this a cute four-year old fashion trend or an opportunity for Roxanne to instill more values and discipline?
Holidays are stressful enough...but Meredith and her family have added to the mix. They are moving over the holidays...oh, but wait...it get's better (or more stressful)...they are moving in with their in-laws (while their new house is being built).
It seems, as a parent, you're never gonna feel like ALL the areas of your life are running smoothly at the same time. Roxanne got great news about her mammogram but bad news about a plumbing disaster at her house.
What are some of the things that you've done or said around your kid(s) that you are most embarrassed about? Roxanne and Doug have a code word they use (rather than actually swearing). Their daughter has now picked up that word. Problem is...it sounds like a bad word!
A resounding YES. Just because you're a mom, doesn't mean you can't still show your sexy side. Meredith is going to get out of her mom "box" and show her stuff. And we'll chat about other Halloween MOM dilemmas.
We know TikTok isn't good for us in one way...it's like you go down the rabbit hole of videos and before you know it, three hours have passed. A bit of a time-waster. But have you heard that teen girls who spend a lot of time on TikTok are actually developing twitches?!
We did our first family of four airplane flight. I guess we made it a little harder on ourselves than it needed to be arriving at the airport with only 45 minutes to spare. Lots of crazy adventures on our families recent trip to North Carolina. I love catching up with Meredith and sharing them with you.
~Roxanne
When Roxanne found out the Moms of Tampa were coming on the podcast, she assumed she'd be interviewing moms who live in the bay area, and maybe they'd share their ideas on fun places to take the kids around town, what Tampa activities they liked best.
But there's much MORE to these moms than meets the eye. These two mom's, Megan and Tiffany, have a really special story that brought them together that shows what kind of gracious, exceptional people they are.
Bill from Salt Shack also stopped by for some fun to share his Toys for Tots program, and Moms of Tampa are involved with his endeavors, too!
Meredith and Anthony TRIED to do a fun, romantic (no-kids) get away to Orlando, but things went sideways and their trip was cut short. They're headed back to Disney this weekend (with kids) in hopes that things will go smoothly.
At what age did your kids start telling whoppers? Meredith is dealing with a little fibber/creative story-teller in her household. How do you nip that behavior in the bud?
Did you hear Facebook has admitted they (as the parent company of Instagram) are aware of how toxic Instagram is for teenage girls? Not cool. Roxanne and her crew from the MJ Morning Show weight in.
How do you manage your kids when they fight? Let them fight it out? Jump in? What's the best way to manage their aggression while being fair to both? Meredith and Roxanne share their tactics.
Do you ever have that realization as a mom that you've lost yourself because you always put yourself last? How do you overcome it? And Meredith is feeling a little bit of the mom guilt as she plans for a trip without her babies.
Roxanne is feeling the stress brought on by baby number 2 as she approaches the terrible two's. Meredith has great, practical tips to snap out of the summer doldrums and second baby blues.
Lots of celebs have been weighing in on how often they bathe their kids (and themselves). What are the bathing routines in Meredith's and Roxanne's households? They weigh the benefits of frequent bathing versus less frequent.
Do your kids tell little white lies, like they're sick when they're really not sick so they can stay home? And have you tackled your back to school list? Does it intimidate you as much as Meredith and Roxanne's lists freak them out?
We are inundated with news about the uptick in the spread of COVID. As a mom, I feel a bit overwhelmed. Information overload. So what do I do? I call a trusted physician, Dr. Mike Jordan of East Lake Pediatrics. He helps us sort through it all to find out how best to protect our kiddos and whole families. And he also gives us a friendly reminder about screen time as we head back to school.
Have you heard of Revenge Bedtime Procrastination? Sounds like it's something your naughty toddler is pulling on you...But no! It's a trap you might be setting for yourself. Meredith and Roxanne admit their revenge bedtime procrastination habits and try to figure out how to overcome them.
Meredith and Roxanne daydream about what they'd do if they became instantly insanely wealthy. How would it change motherhood? What would outsource? The biggest gift money can give us is time. So it's fun to ponder what tasks you'd eliminate and delegate? And why not live that way now?
Meredith and Roxanne FINALLY get together on their double date night...no kids, just the hubbies. Good times. And Orlando makes a surprise visit into the studio. He was upset he wasn't invited and then posed the question, "Do you sweep before you vacuum or just go straight in with the vacuum?"
What is Mama's tipping point? Just read a story about how more people are snapping at family members because of what this past year has been like. Moms have a tendency to snap at kids. How do Meredith and Roxanne control their tempers?...Well...sometimes they don't. ;) Goose Fraba.
How did Roxanne's kids do on their first post-pandemic vacation. Surprisingly, the four-year-old was pretty well-behaved. The baby was a nightmare.
Meredith's one-year old has been bumped to a different class at her daycare, and she's now on a different nap schedule, eating new foods. Not only does baby have to adjust, but Mama does, too.
Do you feel like the lllllong days put you in a funk? It's kind of like the opposite of the seasonal winter disorder. Rox and Mer chat about kids who won't go to bed during these days that have lots of daylight....and we do a little blue light chit-chat, too.
How did the 4 year old party turn out? Any mishaps, faux pas, dirty paws to clean after? Absolutely! It DID take place at a farm! Roxanne and Meredith recap the party.
Roxanne and Meredith always love a good party...but kids' parties require a different mentality. And speaking of party poopers, the latest fun being had with toilet training.
Hopefully, the tantrums aren't taking place during the family photos...Meredith shares tips on capturing the most special moments with the little ones, and Roxanne talks about how she is (or isn't) managing three-year-old tantrums.
Sick and tired...no it's not that we're sick and tired of parenting...we are literally sick and tired this week. What to do when the whole house is fighting a stomach bug and how to deal when your kids drop their naps.
Multi-tasking again...doing a podcast and planning a party. Need some tips on how to plan a 4-year-old bash during the pandemic. Meredith maps out the perfect party day for Roxanne.
Roxanne catches up with East Lake Pediatrics Dr. Mike Jordan. What do parents need to know about COVID-19 vaccines. And WHAT will life be like as we move out of the pandemic. Kids, time to put down the tech toys and start playing with friends!
Did Meredith survive Anthony's night out with the boys? Speaking of survival, what lies do you tell to survive parenting? Did Roxanne go too far in telling her daughter she'd been bitten by a shark?
Ever get jealous of your hubby? How about the fact that there is no such term as "Dad Guilt." Sure, there are "dad bods" but no such thing as "dad guilt."
Meredith's daughter is getting to that point where she wants Mama to let her have a sleepover with friends. Though her daughter is ready, is Meredith? When is the right age for the first sleepover?
It's Roxanne's birthday and she's see-sawing between enjoying the wisdom that comes with age, but hating the wrinkles and body changes.
Meredith and Roxanne reminisce about what life was like or rather who they were before kids. Would they go back? No way...well maybe they'd go back just for a couple of hours as long as they could then return to being moms.
Feeling like a haggard parent is a common theme on the podcast. But we may have been given an explanation as to why we feel so tired. You might think you're getting your proper rest...BUT are you getting emotional rest, sensorial rest, mental rest? Probably not, in today's era, where we are bombarded with tech and life's demands.
Roxanne shared a cool experience...catching up with a long, lost friend who she hadn't spoken to for about 17 years. Here is the cool part. Neither Roxanne, nor her friend follow each other on social media.so it was very cool to catch up authentically with no pre-conceived notions as to what's going on in one another's lives.
As a mom do you feel like all the stresses in your life (the little ones) are like tiny drops of water? They just drip-drop, drip-drop...and then it's that one little drip-drop, and BOOM! You lose it!
My baby girl just turned one. I wrote a little poem for her that kind of encapsulates how parents feel about their second children...No, no, no! Just kidding. ;)
Looking back on how my parenting journey began, and I realized that the way it all started is a metaphor for the life-long journey of parenting...lots of ups and downs and the key to surviving it all is to have faith.
~Roxanne
Meredith and Roxanne try to figure out what to do when you are raising daughters. How do you strike the right balance between raising little ladies, but also making sure they still know how to stand up for themselves.
2020 has been a year of dashed networking opportunities. That networking luncheon you were headed to in the spring probably didn't happen. BUT the Women's Conference of Florida is a go (at least virtually). Arlene DiBeningo fills Roxanne in on the amazing line-up of guest speakers.
With new guidance from the CDC, how does that throw everyone's Thanksgiving Day plans into a tailspin?
When the rest of the world reels and/or cheers the election results, Roxanne and Meredith focus on much less significant issues, but annoying nonetheless... Issues like how bad motherhood beats up your looks and what you can and can't do about it.
Even though Halloween is coming up, love is in the air. Roxanne and Doug are planning their first solo date night since the baby has been born!!!
Roxanne finds out the latest on flu shots, covid, and introducing babies to peanut products from our resident expert, pediatrician...Dr. Mike Jordan.
Roxanne is wearing a heart monitor now...thanks to her job and kids. Meredith and Roxanne discuss how moms can get more relaxation.
I think we have proof that Roxanne's daughter watches too many Youtube videos. Hey, it's been a rough COVID summer. As Meredith and Roxanne get their girls back in school, they share some school survival tips.
As we get older and wiser, we realize we have more in common with our moms than we realized. As moms, we try our best to send the kids to school with their hair brushed. At Daddy Daycare, however, that doesn't always happen. ;)
How do you make the plunge and get your family back out and about as we (hopefully) get to the end of the pandemic? No one is going to come and knock on your door and say, "Come out, come out. The world is ready for you." You have to go at your own pace and just make a decision to do it. Roxanne talks about her family's "field trip" to a restaurant on the water. Meredith has a visitor from out of town, which makes her smallish house a bit to crowded and chaotic.
Meredith and Roxanne are both trying to make their physical comebacks after delivery. When in doubt, look for the EASIEST way to do something. (Not sure if that applies to working out...effort might yield better results.) But hopefully, their tricks can help or at least entertain you.
Sometimes it just feels good to vent about everyone in your life...kids, partner, co-workers. No one is off the table. Everyone is in trouble!
What is the best-kept secret about getting babies to sleep through the night? Sleep problems solved (kind of) in this edition of PG Parental Guidance Needed.
Meredith and Roxanne talk about the challenges you face trying to ramp your love life back up after having a baby.
We could have titled this podcast "Tongue Tied And Nipple Spazzed" but that sounds way too suggestive. But it's a fit description. Meredith is back after the birth of her beautiful baby Olivia. Bless her little heart, she was born with a condition where her tongue is connected to far out to the bottom part of her mouth. Meredith explains her procedure. Breast-feeding was another point for discussion and Roxanne talked about experiencing nipple vasospasms when she was breast-feeding. Not at all pleasant!
It is so difficult to do two things at once. And we know multi-tasking is bad for your brain. Well how about working from home and parenting at the same time. It's the new "pat your head/rub your tummy." It's tough! Working mom, Jennifer Dunn joins us to talk about stresses during the pandemic.
Always cool catching up with my buddy Pat. He's got grown kids who are doing amazing things and he shares his advice on how to parent even when they are all grown up.
As a mom, I feel a lot of sadness for our children about the world they have to grow up in. I needed some hope, so I reached out to my friend, my sis...Edie Darling. She is a spiritual advisor, she is in law enforcement, and she is our Ambassador of Peace. There are so many great take-aways from chat with her on how to make our country and communities stronger. She has a voice that needs to be heard.
Meredith is ready to pop in one week and Roxanne isn't going to die (at least not from tingly legs).
Meredith and Roxanne talk about how Meredith's pregnancy has been unique during this pandemic and how it's been dealing with kids at home ALL THE TIME.
Catching up with our favorite pediatrician, Dr. Mike Jordan. He helps us navigate this crazy pandemic world we are living in as it relates to caring for our children.
Another unedited convo, with my girl Meredith. How are we getting it done as working moms with the kids underfoot now? Meredith is looking as glowing as ever during her pregnancy but she's feelin' the heat and the difficulties that come down the stretch!
Soooo,,,my guest this week cancelled because of the novel coronavirus. So I thought it was a good time to re-air a medical-related podcast. In case you missed this one when I first dropped it last year, it's my conversation with East Lake Pediatrics' Dr. Mike Jordan. (He's also my long-time friend.) We had this chat when times were simpler (last year) when all we were worried about is our kids catching the flu.
My sincere apologies for the podcast hiatus...adjusting to work and now 2 kids has been a tough transition. I combined two things on my to-do list...doing the podcast and catching up with my friend Meredith. She is expecting her second little girl so it was great catching up with her. It's just our private convo...two mom friends catching up. And we wanted to share it with you.
Congratulations to Meredith from WILD! She has another baby girl on the way! (This is a conversation Meredith and Roxanne had (prior to her finding out about her new addition.) It's tough being a working mom, but nice when you've got other moms who've got your back!
Episode TWO is all about our terrible 2 year-olds. One minute they're cuddly or adorably curious. The next... they're having the most epic of meltdowns. How do you manage their ever-changing moods?
Happy 2020 and welcome to Season 4 of The PG Podcast. Roxanne & Buck kick around ideas about the right age to explain the birds and the bees to your kids. And who is responsible for having that awkward conversation? Mom or Dad?
What makes the ideal playroom? What do you absolutely have to have in the playroom to make it work? Buck and Roxanne kick around some ideas as Buck deals with his own playroom remodeling mayhem.
Homeplate is the story of a boy who can’t eat food. None. Zip! Nada!
Imagine going through life with no pizza, no birthday cake, no chicken nuggets or hamburgers.
Imagine the doctors telling you, you cannot eat food or you will die.
That’s the story of 19-year-old Remington Walls. For the last 16 years he’s not been able to eat food. He survives on a certain special formula drink, that’s all. He has a very rare condition. But he is living life to the fullest, not letting it stop him and making the most of every day.
