Trish was so wonderful to chat with. We talked about her mothering, being a mother to a child who made to the other side of substance abuse and her eldest child who is a trans young woman. Our conversation wasn't solely focused on her trans daughter, which
She shared what both of her children have taught her about herself and how she is living her best life!

Thank you for listening to another episode of The Mommalogues Podcast. Last month I was really struck by the amount of toxic fragility that seems to be permeating every aspect of our lives in this country and many parts of the world. So many more lives are in danger for just existing!
These authors have shown up at so many stages of my life. They helped me fall in love with words and reading and even writing. So if this is just an opportunity listen of me reading Wikipedia and Spark Notes or other random Googled content thanks
but also I really hope you will learn a little something and be inspired to share. Enjoy
I do not have any rights to any of the prerecorded content shared with Audre Lorde, Alice Walker, Toni Morrison, Maya Angelou, Bell Hooks & Sandra Cisneros

Welcome Back! Here is part 2 of the NO regrets conversation with my awesome son. Did tears flow? YES...Was laughing involved? YES...DO I swear? ABSOLUTELY! Am I hopeful that you will get something positive from our moments of vulnerability? YES. Thank you for listening. LIke & Subscribe & Share!

Take the time to pause, meditate & pray...
I had the most awesome and slightly nerve wracking conversation with my son last week...On my Birthday at that. He wanted to get to know me and find out more about this lady who has mothered him all these years. He wanted to know about the woman who mothered her.
It was hard, hopeful, eye-opening and dare I say...Healing.
I am grateful for my son and who he is in the world. I am grateful that he trusts me enough to ask about who he is through me and who I am at the most vulnerable. I'm grateful for my mother. I am grateful that she was brave enough to do what was scary by loving me at all cost and grateful that her journey to show me to envision something bigger than yourself and make it happen.
Take the time to pause, meditate & pray...
Jenn Bragg Jones, whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting when our now young adult kids were in middle school. I’ve always admired her tenacious attitude around really living…She is that person who makes things happen..from her poetry circuit years in her earlier years…to climbing and succeeding at the top of corporate ladders…to starting her own business
(Cocobuttery https://www.cocobuttery.com/- an all natural line of skincare) which I’ll link in the notes…one of her latest ventures...
I am so grateful to Jenn that she took the time out to be vulnerable in our conversation and was so open about her journey as she traverses this challenging time in her life.
Take the time to pause, meditate & pray...
About a month or so ago, I reached out to a variety of moms that I know to record themselves in prayer. Prayers most authentic to their hearts. Prayers that will resonate all who want/need a little mother love.
I received a variety of blessings in my inbox. Please take some time to pray/meditate/listen/resonate with the variety of prayers/poetry/art/music.
I'm so grateful for the people in my life who give me access to their most tender parts. I'm grateful for the this space to also work on my own healing with the support of these beautiful voices.
Thank you!
To my mother who taught me the power of prayer
To my bonus mum who gave me her blessing to use the music at the beginning of the episode which was women who were friends with my bonus mother (Evelyn Musoni), my father, friends of the family, relatives, neighbors...praying in song in celebration of the life my father lived and sending him on. The song, according to my bonus mum, is basically saying "Run as fast as you can so you can sign in the book of the blessed one."
I took the message to also mean run to your blessings before you cannot.

Thank you for tuning in to another episode of the Mommalogues Podcast. I hope this finds you safe and blessed. In a time when we have so much unrest and pain and suffering and turmoil and the not being seen or heard. I love my black skin, I love being black, I love my black son who loves being black, I love my black community who embrace all of their blackness, I love my community of non black folks who are being public allies and holding space.
THANK YOU to the mothers that shared their prayers with me. I know it was not a simple ask for some but you showed up. THANK YOU & BLESS YOU!!
I implore all mothers to do what you do to pray, meditate and use your voices to nurture our Mother Earth as it's inhabitants are in a world of pain. Please be safe.
Peace love and light

Toni's Got Next! This woman right here is phenomenal!
How's everyone doing out there? Adjusting and readjusting to our ever changing normal? Well, next up in this collection of conversations with Moms on The Frontlines is Toni Anderson.
Toni has spent about twenty years of her life finding ways to empower youth... Weather it was holding cooking classes for kids in a professional kitchen or traveling to Kenya with a group of youth to learn about sustainability from the Maasai and then planting over 200 trees, or helping young adults find their footing during this Pandemic season...Toni has dedicated her time, heart & energy to this next generation of leaders.
Take a listen and get inspired!
Stay safe and healthy:)

So excited to be back in the Podcasting streets!
As we all learn to adapt to our new normal. Brilliant people who have stepped up to be the line of defense against this horrendous virus. While many of us are social distancing and staying home, many others are working out in the world so that our world keeps spinning.
Ariel is one of those people. I've had the pleasure of working with Ariel. My Doula clients whom she has attended through their pregnancies or whose babies she's caught all LOVE LOVE her! They feel safe, seen and taken care of.
Listen in to see how Ariel is navigating this time!
Cheers!

Thank you for tuning in for another episode of the Mommalogues. I had a chance to take my recorder out to the Chicago Woman's March. Unfortunately, all the recordings either disappeared, didn't record or...I have no idea, just technical difficulties. I want to say thank you to all the ladies that stopped and talked to me. I am sorry for the technical breakdown. Hopefully I was able to adequately share your words and feelings about being at the march.
