Capturing the local clubs, festivals and artists is how tunes&wings combines music & travel.
Kasper Bjørke is a DJ and producer from Copenhagen and in the scene for more than twenty years. Kaspers' new album Sprinkles will be out 30 July. Recorded and produced while spending extensive periods of time in the family’s cabin by a secluded beach, Bjørke reflects on what feels like distant memories; the energy and euphoria from his countless DJ gigs over the past decades. Furthermore, sustainable living and traveling are very important to him. He's trying to only travel by train to most of his gigs and inspires others with beautiful train stories on social media.
Glaskin are two brothers from Munich. Specialising in their own distinctive take on the harder edges of techno and electro, the duo are currently residents at the renowned Blitz Club. In 2019, they launched their own imprint, YAEL Trip, a label intended to showcase their own material as well as interpretations from like-minded figures. They are also part of the promotion team of the two Munich-based festivals ‘Back to the Woods‘ and ‘Schall im Schilf‘, where they play regularly. There's no getting around his name in Munich. @moritz-butschek is currently the resident DJ at Bahnwärter Thiel and Wannda Circus. Two unique institutions that he also supports in booking other acts. In addition, Moritz Butschek founded the former online magazine Two In A Row, which today stands for successful parties that he hosts with selected DJ colleagues in changing locations. In 2020, he founded his own fashion label hey hey Studios. Here, exceptional designs by renowned designers meet fair fashion. Louisahhh is a born and bred New Yorker and Paris based DJ, vocalist, producer and feminist that stands for female power and sex positivity. In this interview we’re talking with her about Techno, Paris, her podcast "Sober Sex", routines, her definition of spirituality, her new album "Practice of Freedom" which will be out on 12 March and much more. Without any doubt, Louisa is a woman with a tough journey that led her through addictions, grief, pain and shadow work but also acceptance and love. Over the past 26 years the electronic music band GusGus has found their journey through different electronic music genres, always coined by their typical synths and layered soundscapes. For their new album "Mobile Home" core members Biggi Veira and Daníel Ágúst collaborated with founding member Kinski as well as the Icelandic singer Margrét Rán. So this album is a symphony of electronic and pop music and will be out in spring. We're talking about their home Iceland, the remix collaboration with Maceo Plex and the single releases "Higher" & "Stay The Ride".
If the Joao Maria Girao would ever have to write a CV, one page wouldn't be enough. He found his way into electronic music in London, where he spent five years to study. From there he moved to Lisbon where his career in the scene really took off. He's not only and artist, but also a visionary entrepreneur. Within his 20 years in the music business he opened two record shops, two festivals, a label, radio station and restaurant - only to mention a few. We had a very inspirational talk about mindset, his definition of success and much more.
The Lisbon born and raised Switchdance a.k.a. Marco Antão is one of Portugal's most eclectic DJs and producers. His adventurous and hypnotic sets guide us through the nights at Lux Frágil club Lisbon and his tracks like 'O Amolador' are coined with ethnic influences from all over the world. With roots in Lisbon and Goa, he coincidently started his new project "SwitchSamosas" during the pandemic. HÆLOS is a British Electronica and Elektro-Pop Band consisting of the members Arthur, Lotti, Dom & Daniel. Ulrich Hasselmann is the co-founder of the fashion labels Vertere and On Vacation, both from Berlin and DJ at Nightvisions. While the latter is focusing on creating a holiday vibe in everyday's life, Vertere is a label founded by a collective of local DJs, designers and artists. The idea is to bring people of the nightlife scene together. Acts like Nina Kraviz, Charlotte De Witte and Andhim are huge fans of the brand. Furthermore Uli, his co-founder and the team are collaborating with record labels or events, such as the LIFE ACT charity rave 'Local Loyalty' for which they designed special shirts.

Last weekend the second edition of the charity event LIFE ACT took place at Prince Charles in Berlin. Acts like Timo Maas, Tiefschwarz, Mouse on Mars, Pam Bam, Nela, Forever Jung and many more contributed with their sound to the event. The African Food Festival presented specialities from the continent and a yoga session gained the inner balance for the ravers. The Munich DJs and producers Michael and Daniel have been making music for their project Innellea since 2014. In December they released 'Napoleon', which was already played by Superflu & Solomun. A few weeks ago they were voted among the top 10 newcomers by Groove Magazine readers, alongside artists like Fjaak and Amelie Lens. They are constantly producing new tracks, remixes and currently are working on a live-set. Cape Town is a versatile city: located at the sea and with the Table Mountain in its back, the South African city offers a breath-taking scenery. Festival review of the Contact Festival 2017 & about the techno scene in Munich.Last Saturday the Contact Festival 2017 enthused Munich ravers with a phenomenal and mostly technoid line-up. Among others, the organisers invited international and national acts like Rødhåd, Tale Of Us, Recondite, Alex.Do, Adam Beyer & Ida Engberg, Joseph Capriati and Konstantin Sibold but also Moonbootica, Fritz Kalkbrenner and AKA AKA to the historical powerhouse venue. The stage design, light concept and special effects appealed to all senses of the ravers. I am glad I got Patrick a.k.a. Ibiza offers many hidden treasures apart from the popular beach clubs and ‘packed like sardines’ bays. The beaches listed in this article were on my list for the Ibiza trip 2017. This magical island offers a lot more great spots for taking a relaxed sunbath or for just enjoying life and the nature. You have probably already checked out the articles about the electronic music scene in NYC. I had the pleasure of gathering interesting insights into how it all began and what are the current players, events and happenings you should have an eye on. Nervous Records told me about the roots of house and techno music in the "Big Apple" and when it all began with techno and house music in the 80's. TBA Brooklyn is not only home of the electronic underground music, but also home to all the local people from the scene nowadays. One of my personal highlights was the ebb+flow boat party where I met so many lovely people with whom I am still friends. You guys really made this trip very special and your concept is worth supporting to the max.
