In our introduction today, we'll begin a two-part exposition of Matthew 16:18. First, we will begin what is the significance of Petros and Petra. How are they related? How does Scripture deal with the terms otherwise? If God's Church has the Rock for a foundation, who or what is that foundation? The whole of Scripture has a certain and clear answer echoed consistently through both Old and New Testaments. We'll also deal with other issues, such as was Peter elevated above others? What did Peter say? What is the significance of Simon being named a stone? Is that singular to Peter? What did Peter say?
In our reading, Dr. Carroll will deal with more Questions and begin to handle “difficult” passages by the suggestion of his students. Especially, we'll hear about Acts 9:31.

In our introduction today, we'll provide some insight on a regularly misunderstood passage of the New Testament, commonly known as the Wheat and Tares Parable. What is being spoken of in this passage and how does that help our understanding of Church and Kingdom? Moreover, we'll discuss the great trouble often reaped by misinterpretation. In our introduction we'll hear from a recent article from FoxNews.com about whether Church is a good translation for Ekklesia. This will introduce some conundrums to our understandings about where the edge of reason lies. We'll use a town's recent claim to be a church as a springboard into a discussion on definitions.
In our reading, we'll discuss some of the errors introduced by the Universal Church Concept, the introduction of the word "Universal" into the so-called "Apostle's" creed, and the relationship between Church and Kingdom. We'll also have some Question and Answer time with Dr. Carroll. In our analysis, we'll discuss the concept of Church Membership. Is it Biblical? And we'll wrap up with an interesting look at the relationship between Churches and the Kingdom of God.

We begin by introducing the subject matter for our next, short reading. What is the Church? How does the Bible speak of the Church. Is it an ungathered gathering? Is there a Scriptural distinction between types of Churches? (e.g. Universal or Local?) Where did the concept of the Universal Church come from? It later gained a separate modification of "invisible" – where did that come from? If the Universal Church does exist, how do the rules of Church discipline apply to it? How does Scripture address the whole of believers in every age?
In our analysis we'll take special notice of concepts such as General/Abstract and Specific/Particular. And close by taking note of what Ecclesia (Ekklesia) cannot mean.

Over the last month, there has been a big stir among Jews and many Christians about the birth of a "red heifer" in the lands of Palestine. Are there prophetic implications? Where does that idea come from? Are we really on the edge of a Third Temple? Should we be expecting another temple? What does the Bible have to say about all these things? What color was the "red heifer" of Numbers 19? We'll examine the actual evidence and give the Scriptural answer. Are Christians anti-Semitic for wanting Jews to convert to faith in the one true God? In our introduction today, we'll discuss the Great City of Revelation 11, where the witnesses are slain. What is this Great City that is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt? What does the rest of Revelation say? What does the immediate context specify? There is no other place "where their Lord was slain" but Jerusalem of the nation of Israel. This place is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt. What does that mean? How does this help us to understand Israel's future? Do we see a taste of their future in their present? An examination of Christian discrimination in Israel and the incredible prevalence of "Gay Pride" for all ages in Israel seems to fit the very state we see in Revelation 11. What is a Jew's hope? Some future salvation? Or the only name given under Heaven by which we must be saved? Hasn't the Savior come? Won't the Judge of all the earth come next? Standing even at the door? We'll discuss.
We'll cover an interesting portion of our reading, and cover the beliefs of the Vaudois, and answer the question: How knowledgeable of the Bible were the old Baptists? Did they have the Bible?

In response to the US Task Force on Religious Liberty, we look to a recent article by the Daily Signal, where they offer a solution for religious liberty and persecution: Pluralism. What is pluralism? Simply Diversity? Actually not, we'll go to the Pluralism Organization for the answer. We'll look to history for how the United States historically handled the issue of religious liberty and civil responsibility. We'll answer the question about Governments role with religion and civil controversy. Should we expect religions to change if they want to join with societies? Looking at Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity.
After reading well cover the subject of compromise with Protestants when they came on the scene. What did one group of Baptists give up? The different names given to Baptists. And We also find that Waldensians always had the Scriptures in their own language from the first century.

We will definitively cover the subject of 501c3 and the trouble that this classification has for God's Churches. What restrictions come with 501c3? Does this hurt or hinder the mission of the Church? And in recent developments even 501c3 churches and organizations may incur a 21% tax for Employee (including Pastor) benefits. What is the solution? What about Tax Exemption? What about the First Amendment? Is there a better way? What should churches do? We will give the answer according to multiple legal sources for Churches. Recently, there has been an article making numerous rounds on the internet, which makes claims by a "Bible Scholar", Harvard Professor, Dr. Idan Dershowitz, that Leviticus 18 is heavily edited, and that the Bible originally permitted Homosexuality. Is that true? What does the Bible really teach? What is the evidence? We'll examine Leviticus 18 and the rest of Scripture to get at the right view.

A slight review of Michael J. Oard's book: Frozen in Time. An excellent book which covers some fascinating bits of information related to the Ice Age which came at the end of the Flood. Some information from the book and its evidentiary topic: Wooly Mammoth's. Next in our introduction, we'll discuss an old topic recently reintroduced to the News as this week the Episcopal Church is apparently reviewing their "Common Book of Prayer" to have more non-Gender specific references to God. We'll discuss this topic (covered previously in Episode 6) with some of the recent quotes found in the Washington Post article. We'll also cover some comments made in an Article by One News Now, entitled: "God is a good, good...mother? Really?"
We'll cover more of the Crusade against the French Albigensians, and carry through to our analysis, where we'll touch on one subject: Perpetuity, not Reformation as the source of true "New Testament" Christianity.

In our introduction today, we'll briefly discuss various kinds of archaeology, how facts are interpreted, and how the general means of interpretation causes certain discoveries to misfit. This is due to an overall misunderstanding of human history. The Bible, on the other hand, makes perfect sense of the archaeological details which we find in the world. We'll trance an interesting course of human civilization, from its beginning in Genesis, to its end in Revelation, and where we are called to stand, as Christians.

Recently there were some comments by a Government Official of the Federal Government of the United States of America, where citation was made to Romans 13:1. Many secular agencies have given commentary on the event and the Scripture, but what's the real understanding of this verse? Our answer must not simply seek to satisfy a theological position, but a textual exegesis. We will examine the immediate context in Romans 13. Then, the whole of Scripture, and what individuals did in both the Old and New Testaments. Including our God and Savior, Jesus. Then, we will return to verse 1, and seek to understand the words that are there used, in order to understand the Word of God more fully. The answer may surprise you.

According to recent expansive surveys in the United States 20% of Christians don't believe in the God of the Bible. What does that mean, and how did the research come to that conclusion? What's different about these 20%? What about Christians in Europe? Less than a third (64%) believe in the God of the Bible. How did this happen? Comparing figures. Essentially, this is what happens when we undercut the Word of God, and biblical doctrine from having its full authority. What do we do now?

Recently, at Red Bank Baptist Church in South Carolina, USA, decided to take down a statue of Jesus. The Sculptor, the secular Press, and others cry out against this removal. But what does the Bible have to say about this? We'll examine Exodus 20:3-6, and see what the Bible has to say to all of us, asking the question: Is it ever right to have statues or images of Jesus? (or anything else religiously related, for that matter).

Last week, we read that there are those who allege that the Paulicians worked with the Islamic Saracens to attack Grecian states. Moreover, that these Paulicians were happily embraced by these Muslims. The old allegation is meant to make us think twice about the Paulicians. But is it possible? What does History teach us? A few weeks ago, we saw that Islam certainly doesn't teach coexistence. This week we ask the question: Does Islam practice Coexistence? In this interesting episode, we'll cover the subject regarding specific instances of history, which will show us the facts of the matter. Moreover, we will do this in viewing not just an instance of two or three mixed groups here and there, but throughout time and in nations, etc. In our own time, this is especially necessary, because without understanding the past, we will most certainly make mistakes in this instance where we are faced with large influxes of Muslim "immigrants."

We'll review Acts 2:38, Peter's exhortation to the convicted. The King James Translation makes this sound like one must be baptized in order to be forgiven, or saved. Is this true? Is this an example of Theology influencing translation? How should we rightly understand the original words that God gave?
As we read, we'll cover the period of history where, in the East, God's churches existed from the very beginning, even in the face of the corruption of the hierarchies of the Eastern "Church".
We'll also run across some truly interesting statements that we'll discuss in our Analysis. We'll discuss Baptist Covenantal Theology, the historic, most consistent, and Biblical position on the Covenants of the Bible. Should we let kids figure out religion for themselves? Should we let children decide whether they want to go to church? We'll discuss the real numbers of the decline in church attendance by younger folks today. Why aren't they coming? We often hear Church Hypocrisy decried. Certainly, some of this is just an excuse on the part of the younger, but is there a real problem with hypocrisy? If a lack of Church discipline is any meter to go by, then there certainly is a problem! We'll cover the numbers and what we must do to be what we should be, as God's people.

In our introduction today, we'll discuss who is the Day Star and Morning Star? What is the significance of such a title? Having learned that Jesus is the Day or Morning Star, we'll discover that many new and old translations blasphemously apply the titles of God onto Satan in an erroneous translation of Isaiah 14:12, and discover the source of their error: Interpreting Scriptural concepts by Pagan views and beliefs. Truly, not a good source!
We'll cover some very interesting history in our reading today as we press along and find the continuance of persecution for different reasons. In fact, we'll discover how Augustine (of Hippo) felt about religious persecution. And we'll discover, were the Baptists of old "Augustinian" in their theology? In other words, were early Baptists Calvinist? Clearly, the question is anachronistic, but the concepts of Calvinism were not new to Calvin. Thus, did old Baptists hold them? We'll ferret out this answer in our Analysis.

Today we doctrinally review Mrs. Madeliene L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time. We will review and critique her doctrine, her writing in A Wrinkle in Time, and the Disney Movie Adaptation. Disney has released "Bible Study" material to accompany the film and is promiting its use by churches and groups. What does this material say and teach? Is the Movie good? We'll see and give the final answer. In our reading, we'll review the history of the development of the sacramental (viz. the conferrence of grace by an action or object) baptism and its resultant outcome of Infant Baptism.

Today is St. Patrick's day! Far from being about Green or certain beverages, this day heralds a great evangelist who knew nothing of Roman Catholicism. Let's examine the religious context of the British Island, by examining Isaiah 11 and especially a person mentioned in Romans 16:10. Who is Aristobulus? This will set the stage for the religious context in which Patrick was raised, in Southern Scotland, what relationship his family had with Christianity, and what Patrick believed and taught. Next, we'll discuss when the Catholics did finally show up in Britain and what they did to "Convert" the British and Irish in the 7th century. Next, we'll take a short reading and in our analysis discuss the fault of Trine Immersion and why this is a fundamental error.

In our introduction today we'll gain the Biblical understanding of what it means to be born of water and spirit (as John 3:5 speaks of) and the impact of the broader context of scripture as it brings light upon the subject, and what that understanding renders to our understanding of John chapter 3. As we get to our reading, we'll find the flaws and features of the Second Century and get the hint of our next subject: those that stayed with the Scriptural order. In our analysis, we'll also take notice of how the history of the second and third century has an interesting application to a movement in our modern times and "Satellite Churches."
CORRECTION: during the introduction, the misreading occurs: "In regeneration, or the “new birth,” there must be a ceasing from sin as well as a renewing of the heart to hate sin." However, it should have been read, "there must be a cleansing from sin".

Today we respond to various articles concerning the Word of God and its quality and proper understanding. In our time, we see the continued and continuous attack on Scripture meant to cast not only doubt, but aspersions upon what is God's Holy Word. We'll also review a common view presented in conversations with the lost revolving around where we get proper biblical understanding of Biblical Doctrine. And in essence answer the question: Where does it come from? We'll spend the rest of our time hearing some fascinating history of nearly the first century.

We begin by discussing an article which makes the incredible claim that Zwingli was the father of the Baptists. How so? Because of the audacious claim that Baptists believe in the Spiritual Presence of Christ in the Lord's Supper. They do not, but this leads us into a discussion on Transubstantiation, Consubstantiation, Spiritual Presence, And Commemorative. These are the primary "views" on the Lord's Supper. But if we look into Scripture, there is only one right, plain, and obvious understanding of the Supper. Next, we'll see that Zwingli didn't care for Baptists and actively sought to Banish and murder them, and Zwingli was acting in character with the other Protestants and Catholics as well. We'll begin our new reading in light of this history, as we read G.H. Orchard, A History of Foreign Baptists, and after reviewing a few short quotes we'll discuss the proper view of Baptist history as best described as Perpetuity.

In our Podcast, we'll start by reviewing the interesting history surrounding and proceding the First Nicaean Council and the eventual slide of the Empire and the Catholic Church into Arianism. We'll discuss the fact that essential to Biblical concepts are Biblical foundations, not philosophical terms. As we get to our final reading in the Christian Sabbath, we'll discover the need of the Sabbath to maintain a good and healthy society, with special focus on the spiritual aspect of our beings. In our closing discussion we'll discuss the nature of the importance of "early church writings" sometimes (wrongly) called the writings of the "fathers." And we'll close by hearing from a voice of the past, a circular letter from a Baptist brother, encouraging us to keep holy the Sabbath day. A careful listener will notice just how often the same themes and admonitions occur.

Today, we'll introduce a topic of Catholic Councils and hear some fascinating and clear records of belief in the Trinity in the first century, long before any Catholic Council met together. This should be expected, after all, if God's word teaches it, it shouldn't take an alleged "Panel of Experts" to figure it out. Next, as we get to our reading, we'll investigate further the establishment of the Sunday Sabbath and the clear recognition of it by Jesus Christ, and we'll touch on the abrogation of the Saturday Sabbath. In our analysis, we'll face the fact that we must observe, sanctify the Sabbath. It must have priority. How does this effect our jobs? What about sports? Finally, we'll briefly discuss the Septuagint and its proper place in our understanding.

What is Poland doing that deserves such treatment? Protecting unborn children. What does the Scripture say about abortion? How does God view the life of the unborn? or, the death of the unborn? As we come to our reading, we'll get the definitive answer on whether the New Testament commands a keeping of the Sabbath for us today. As we go on to our reading, we'll discover the Sabbath as the remedy for the moral evils of society and its subsequent promotion of Christianity in the furtherance of the Gospel. As we come to our analysis, we'll have a brief review of the evidence thus far given, and go on to catalogue the outcome of what the Sabbath would do for a nation and give Biblical and Historical testimony to validate the claims. The Common Conception of Christmas has been degraded to a more mundane event. Some Americans care, but most are indifferent to the change in perception, according to statistics published by the New York Times. Analysis of a News Article that claims Jesus was born in a basement, along with numerous other fallacies concerning the reason for Mary and Joseph going to Bethlehem, or whether Jesus was born there at all. Prophecy and the facts of Scripture are too detailed to be ignored.
Continued reading will delve us deeper into the subject of the Christian Sabbath, and will lead us to answer the question: What is a Positive Law?

B—BELIEVE Believe that Jesus is God's Son and accept God's gift of forgiveness from sin (Romans 5:8; Acts 4:12; John 3:16; John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:11-13).
C—CONFESS Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord (Romans 10:9-10,13).
Are you wondering if now is the time to become a Christian? God is speaking to your heart and wanting you to come to him.
You think you need to do this or that first. That isn't true...God will forgive all of your past sins right now and start your life anew.
If not now...when? If you wait and something happens to you...Hell could be your home for eternity.
God's Holy Spirit will help you know if you are ready to become a Christian..... by praying a prayer such as the one below, you can change your life forever.
Dear God:
I know I have sinned and that my sin separates me from You. I am sorry for my sin. I believe Jesus died on the cross for me so my sin can be forgiven. I believe Jesus rose from the dead and is alive.
God, please forgive me. I ask Jesus to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior.
