Paul was greatly concerned for their and the church of Laodicea's welfare. There was an explosion of false doctrine all around the Lord's churches. Each member is responsible for keeping themselves clean of false doctrine, for the failure of one might be the failure of the whole church, and maybe churches.
We compare the rain God sends and His grace, how they renew dead ground to produce fruit and restore the heart from drought. Grace is poured out in a church, but some have no fruit or a sweet savor of life. Grace produces good fruit and a sweet fragrance in those whose hearts it penetrates and changes.
Jesus is the Living stone, and the saints are the lively stones. Jesus is the Chief Corner Stone, which the lively stones are built upon to form a building. Everything built thereon must be plumb in all directions for it to be a proper building.
Revealing the perfecting of the saints by the Spirit in Christ Jesus. Not all of the saint's suffering is for Christ's sake, for the furtherance of the Gospel. Each saint will stand before God blameless.
The sin of omission is to know to do right but not do it, and usually, it is a Presumptuous sin. The example in our Passage is Israel, who obeyed not, trusted not, and drew not near God. They replaced these sins of omission with sins of commission.
Revealing the different Mysteries of God, hid from the before the foundation of the world when only God existed. God revealed these mysteries in Jesus Christ, by preaching the Gospel to the Jews and gentiles. God reconciled sinners to Himself by Jesus Christ-
We are to partake of the Lord spiritually, as we partake of food physically. It is to permeate our being with the nutriments from on high. However, to do this, we must lay aside some things- malice, guile, hypocrisies, envies, and evil speaking,
Israel questioned God's Love for them, and God used election to prove His love for them. They had become callous in their relationship with God and not realizing their true condition before God-
Paul gives his and fellow companions greetings to the Church at Colosse. This letter was written to encourage them in the faith, correct some of their doctrines, and refute some of their ungodly influences.
There are principles to sowing and reaping, which apply to the physical and spiritual realms. Those things that hinder a harvest- God's Judgment, sin, not doing the will of God. Usually, the yield increases, thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold, in blessings or judgment, e.g., -sow the wind and reap the whirlwind.-
The Spirit used the Prophets of old to write the Holy Scriptures, yet to those OT prophets, it was a mystery. The timing and things of Christ's Coming, Grace, and the saving of the Gentiles, which the Angels desire to investigate.

A psalm of David- Given to Israel sing unto the Lord- after the Ark of the Covenant was brought to Jerusalem. It also calls for the whole world to sing praises unto the Lord our God, then Peace will come to this earth-
Though saints go through trials, their faith is not dampened but strengthens, seeing the invisible. It gives rise to -Joy Unspeakable Full of Glory,- an overflowing joy.

John surely rejoiced in their Profession, Baptism, but he had no greater joy than to hear that they walked in the truth. For that is the proof of the pudding, of a good profession, and Salvation-
All saints are tested to remove the dross, separate the true from the false, and perfect them. The trials of our faith are precious in the sight of God, to bring forth the beauty of His workmanship in Christ Jesus in His children.
This is primarily set in the Millennial. From Jesus' earthly ministry until now, the Gentiles are spoken of first, to make the idolatrous Jews Jealous, followed by the Remnant. The rebellious are warned of the Judgement to come and that the longevity of the Millennial will only add to their sorrows in hell, See Romans 10-11.
Jabez is an anomaly amid these many genealogies, which does not give his linage, set in the tribe of Judah, however- Is this a glimpse of a record from the Book of God mentioned in Mal 3-16-17- Well, he be one of the jewels of God-
Doctrinal- God the Father has begotten us again, to a living hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, to an incorruptible inheritance, in heaven. Jesus is both the Testator one making the will and the Executor of the will, who will give out the inheritance-
This could depict, Babylonian empire, Roman Empire, or Antichrist's kingdom, which it does. From Isa 60-66 is future, around the Millennial age, this taking place at the Mid-week of Daniel. The man of sin betrayed them and was now pleading for mercy in the Great Tribulation.
Jesus, in Luke, quotes part of Isaiah 61-1-2, but leaves out the part about vengeance. The Jews missed it, and only looked for Messiah to appear once, and never seen a Second Coming. They thought that Christ would set up His Kingdom then and not centuries later. Jesus will bring peace, prosperity to the Jews and the world, after taking vengeance upon the wicked.
All the great wonders of God in Egypt and the wilderness journey were a blessing and temptations, whether they would trust God or not. They came to Victories' Edge and falter and rebelled, refusing to go into the Promised Land, and rebelled yet again to go in when God said not to. Job was confused by his trials, and God warns us not to do as they did in the Day of Provocation-
Some things -good and evil- are judged before the time, here and now, others in the judgment to come. The Lord chastens the Saints now so they will not be judged with the world. The wicked may receive some judgment here, which will mitigate the Judgment to come.
Those that depend on their part reliance on Jesus and part on themselves are like Nebuchadnezzar's dream, particularly the toes of iron and part of clay, which were disjointed. Their foundation will fail- only those built upon the Lord Jesus Christ shall stand, for Salvation is the Lord alone-
Saints are not to walk after the old but the new man, with a renewed mind. We are to walk in the Light of Jesus and not in darkness- Only the Saved love the Light of Jesus.
The Father chose some, before the creation, who He created free agents -angels and mankind- to be with Him forever. God knowing all things, knew that some of these free agents would fall. God chose some angels, who did take part in the rebellion, and mankind, for all fell in Adam when he sided with Eve and the serpent against God-
Israel heard God's Word, but did not know -believe from their hearts the Word of Truth-. To those that have ears to see and hearts to perceive the truth, must exercise what God allows them to know, and grow in faith and knowledge. God will strengthen all that grow weary in life of faith-
Israel future, when all of God's Promises about their place on the earth are fulfilled, in the Millennial -wealth, peace- domination--. The world will enter a peace which it has not known, but Israel more so. They will be blessed above all the earth, with Jesus reigning the world and His Glory of the light of it-
The wickedness of the wick should stir us to righteous indignation and words to correct the backslidden and fools. These fools thought their combined wisdom and knowledge was superior to the gods, and they could discern the truth and the true God, but were fools.
We must have a sure-verified salvation -calling and election-, which starts with a God-given faith and adds to faith, going on to perfection in a growth cycle. Those who do not have this assurance will go back to the pig pond and wallow the mire.
God never changes, He does not diminish or increase in strength or any of His attributes, but their sins had separated them from God. Nevertheless, God will send His Son Jesus to Deliver them, at the end of the Great Tribulation, and they will never stray again- God would not hear when they called, nor bless them, but bring Judgment.
Contend for the faith and exhort others to contend for the Faith given to us by God- We are not to let one word of the Faith disappear, glossed over, weakening God's truth, thereby weaken the foundation.
They fasted a fast that God did not call for and complained that God ignored them. However, God was in the process of bringing judgment upon them for their wickedness. They were idolaters, wicked, and yet wonder why God did not answer their prayers. They showed no charity to their families, poor or needy.
David is thanking God for deliverance from the Grave and the pit, his enemies, and praises God for His deliverance when he dedicated his house. He knew how God blesses those that obey Him, according to His Word.
The outline is Abraham's life, from his call in the land of Ur, to his offering of Isaac. They went from Ur to Egypt where Abraham was afraid and connived, then to Mt. Moriah to offer Isaac without any hesitation or complaints.
True Salvation is by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation by works always fail, because man has a fatal flaw, he cannot keep the Law, commandments, etc. Their only hope of Salvation is the Grace of God, because God Keeps those Born Again.
Each time before God sent Judgments, He sent Judgment Forerunners, to warn the people, but their Watch dogs -priests and prophets-, did not warn the people. They forsook God and worshiped gods, through idols. Yet, God gives them hope of deliverance, refers to Jesus Christ.
Words of men, companies, governments are powerful, but none comes close to the power of the Word of God. God's Word always accomplishes what God sends it to do, in salvation, judgment, in all things. The Spirit empowers the Gospel and is effectual in those that receive it to saving of their souls.
Faith in Faith, or blood- does not save, but Faith in Jesus Christ does. Genuine salvation is in the person of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. The sorrowful tears, praying through, etc., which many claim for salvation, but Jesus is the Saviour-
All that God does for the saved sinner is grace, unmerited favor, including election. Preaching election glorifies God and not man, reveals the source of salvation and eternal life, and protects the church.
Gospel in the OT, to the gentiles, picturing the promised seed and the Sure Mercies of David. God kept narrowing the origin of the seed down- Eve, Noah, Shem, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah, and David. God's Word will accomplish all that He sends it to do-
The deceivers are of the devil and go about deceiving and being deceived. Satan is seeking whom he may devour, so God's people must be diligent and overcome. They use compromise to get in and thereby divert true worship to compromised and false worship.
Isaiah's Gospel to the gentiles, revealing God's plan that they too would partake of the promised seed and the Sure Mercies of David. God kept narrowing the seed down- Eve, Noah, Shem, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah, David, Jesus. God's Word will accomplish all that He sends it to do-
Thinking about home, in Glory with Jesus. Be in a prepared place made for me, a place of no sorrow, pain, sickness, or death. A Place of Perfect Peace, in the presence of God and our Lord Jesus Christ-
Jesus' Propitiation for all, yet only those that believe in Jesus, will have their sins propitiated and expiated. The world's only hope is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
God will restore Israel as His wife forever, and she shall enjoy the covenant of Peace forever. Jesus will restore them and build a magnificent city.
David's plead was that God would show him favor over his enemy, because he was innocent in the matter. Part of that plead, his knowledge that God takes pleasure in the well-being of His people, with they are in the right.
God knows when everyone is going to die, but a sin unto death, is what could have been, will not be, e.g., Moses - the Promise Land. It is a sin only professing believers can commit, Rev 2-3, professors but some not processors. Some can be avoided by repentance.
Some things that God's Children know, not should know, but know. One is the Messiah-Christ, is come, and they know that they are in Father and Son, and the devil cannot touch them, and having this is eternal life.
Abraham called the friend of God, the father of all that believe. He believed before he was circumcised, by grace- he also tithed before the sign of circumcision. Christian tithe is not a Jewish tithe- who have around nine types mentioned in the OT, some to the temple, poor, Levites.
What it is to sanctify God in our hearts, in the- church, prayer, persecution, with Jesus as our example. That we live a life that reveals our hope in the blessed promises of God, that others might ask the reason of our hope.
The taking of the Lord's Supper- it must be taking worthily -warning of not doing so-, not discerning the Lord, remembering what the Lord did for us in His first advent, and His promised return. We are to continue celebrating His death and resurrection until He comes.
Jesus was hated by those for whom He died, even after He died on the cross. However, in time they believed and received the full pardon of sin. We do notice that Jesus' suffering was at the hands of the Father, for His lost sheep.
Watchers are angels that God uses to govern nations, like Babylon, and are not guardian angels. They appeared to the king, and Daniel interrupted God's message to the king given to him by the watchers.
Jesus on the Cross was marred more than any other person. There was nothing about Him that would draw people to Him, unless God drew them.
