The storm tracker podcast is a student-led weekly summary of everything trine athletics. Hosted by the SAAC representatives of the Men’s Hockey team, Shane Brancato and Kyle Watson; the pair will give you exclusive access to being a Trine athlete by hosting special guests such as coaches, student-athletes and more! The aim of the podcast is to help connect the students, faculty, parents and fans to the happenings and successes of Trine Athletics, in doing so growing the closeness of Trine’s community.
Drew passes the host seat over to Ben, then the guys sit down with TUSB senior Ashley Swartout. Then, they take a deeper dive into the final week of the softball regular season and look ahead towards the MIAA Conference Tournament! It is an exciting time on Trine University’s campus as fall sports come to an end. Both soccer teams are dancing in the NCAA Tournament and football has the opportunity to be crowned conference champions on Saturday as they get ready to face Hope. It has been a slow week for Trine Athletics as we move closer to fall break. This week, we welcome John Kay back to talk about Trine Football’s huge win over Olivet and to look around the rest of the MIAA.
This week, Drew covers all that happened in the last week of Trine Athletics. He then brings in John Kay and Trine Football Safety Keysean Amison to discuss the latest edition of the Black and Blue Border Brawl.

The Stormcenter Podcast is back for the 2021-22 sports year at Trine University. New host Drew Everhart welcomes back former host John Kay to discuss Jake Gladieux’s National Championship and Trine Softball’s end of their season. The guys also talk about Trine Football’s win over Manchester as well as their upcoming matchup against Rose-Hulman.
Well it’s finals week, and we say goodbye to John as this is his last episode of the Stormcenter. With the end of the semester coming that means it is tourney time as softball enters the MIAA Conference Tournament after dropping 2 games to Hope and ending in a tie for the regular season conference crown. Both Men’s and Women’s track and field look to dominate their conference meet, and men’s lacrosse continues fighting in their tournament. One more time we would like to take a moment to shout out all the seniors from this year and last, as they have persevered through some extremely tough times and have given us some amazing moments over the past year. One last crazy week for John and Drew, as a multitude of sports put the finishing touches on their seasons. Men's Soccer made an incredible run to the MIAA Conference Tourney Final, Men's Golf wrapped up their 2nd straight Conference title, and Softball keeps on steamrolling people in conference play. Speaking of softball, we got to sit down with Senior Catcher Bailey Vande Giessen and talk about her career and the tear she is on this year along with some other things along the way.
Another week and another boat load of Trine athletics to keep track of. Baseball split a weekend series with Olivet, Softball continued their dominance going 5-1, and Football ended their season on a high note with a big day from Alex Price. There was also plenty of lacrosse, soccer, golf, and so much more going on this week as some teams are starting to wrap their seasons up.
Another busy week on the Campus of Trine, but John and Drew have you covered with the sporting events going on. Football had a couple of games postponed but prepare to take on the Comets of Olivet. Baseball took 3 of 4 from Kalamazoo picking up their first 3 wins of the season and look to keep this momentum going into the next week, and finally Softball picked up 7 wins as they are looking to continue the offensive attack that they have built along with so much more on campus.
Another busy weekend in Thunderland as we have anything you can think of going on here on campus. Football picked up a huge win in the Border-Brawl and 2 players get voted to be on the MIAA and D3football.com Teams of the Week. Softball picked up 3 wins, and both volleyball teams pick up dubs as baseball will have to recover after a weekend of struggles. After a long week John and Drew return to catch you up on all things Thunder sports. We talk about the wild first 10 games of the softball season, football’s first action since the fall semester and then we also take a peek at lacrosse and baseball. Trine spring sports are starting to swing into action as basketball has officially wrapped up with the Thunder picking up 4 1st team nods between the Men’s and Women’s side along with MVP Nick Bowman and DPOY Manny Mengnanglo. Then the boys take a look at what happened in baseball and get your prepared for the sports coming up this week on campus!
After an extended break the Stormcenter is back in action, as we welcome Drew Everheart into the mix to replace Langston. Over the weekend Trine competed for a couple of MIAA Championships and brought some hardware home as both Men's Basketball and Track conquer their sides of the MIAA. Then we look ahead to what is going to be an extremely busy spring and you can catch all the action on the Trine Broadcasting Network.
Spring break is over and now we are on the home stretch to end the year. John and Lang talk about how Women’s basketball is in the NCAA Tournament and is tearing it up, Softball and Baseball also cruised through spring break and are looking to continue to roll. Finally Men’s Track and Field are MIAA Indoor Champions.

Conference playoffs are starting up, and we have you covered. John and Lang talk about how basketball is looking heading into the conference tournament, Men’s NCAA Hockey is moving on to round 2 in the Harris Cup Playoff, and so much more. Plus John sits down with ACHA D3 player Matt Bradley to talk about his freshman year, what he hopes to work on going forward, and some of his superstitions.
Better late than never...Another busy week of Thunder sports, the Women’s basketball team continues their roll, eyeing a strong finish to the conference season. Men’s hockey prepares to try and lock down the 3 seed in the Harris Cup playoffs, Lang and John talk about an amazing goal, and so much more this week.
John and Lang are back after a long Christmas Break and on this episode the boys discuss how Men’s and Women’s Basketball have been rolling, hockey teams are getting back into conference play and starting to warm up a little bit. And track hosts some meets and has the MIAA Runners of the Week.
Last show of the semester for the Lang and John, and with not much to catch up on from the past week we look to finals week. Home hockey to close out the week before finals week and a basketball game, plus some Thunder teams are getting some players back from injury.
